gonna be honest all these posts like "i never felt young i was ben affleck smoking meme personified at 14" are so silly to me like bro that's what being a teenager is. that IS feeling young. when your life and psyche are so outrageously unstable and the world seems so existentially screwed that u don't see how ppl go on, when u don't know or barely know the stability of healthy relationships with loved ones and can't conceptualize of joie de vivre in the midst of the hell on earth that is your current reality, both bc your inherent emotional immaturity and bc your life is so out of your own control as a powerless young person living under the horrible systems the govern our society, that is when u feel most disillusioned. but the truth is the experience of being older isn't marked by bitterness the same way your teens are. adulthood is about personal growth and finding the love in living, the wonder in everyday life even while fully comprehending the fucked state of the world. trust me when u start feeling like this is when u know you're not feeling young anymore
