An important note to all the critique against Niki especially from a certain ccs stans

I am happy as a victim myself she called out gross behavior and perpetrators. She is a victim herself speaking up in a silent industry where ccs keep their mouths shut or openly defend cc behavior. I'm proud of her and I'm glad she spoke up during the streamer awards. And if you have critique be sensitive with this context in mind.

I think if you havent seen it yet, you should watch Niki talk about misogyny in the mcyt community/her experience in the DSMP and her experience with cc's not speaking out about it. I just saw the clips myself and heres the twitter link to the clips.

From my own experiences and perspective watching Niki and other women cc's, it is abhorrent how much misogyny they face over absolutely nothing and I think it's important as a watcher of cc men in mcyt that you're continuously aware. I'll never forget the hate Niki got during MCC's whereas her male coworkers would get love and support for "doing badly", for example. It's vile how much this stuff still occurs to the cc's on a large scale and thus it also impacts people within cc communities who are affected by the misogynistic rhetoric too.

Also pisses me off that 🟩 stans are making nikis comment MORE about "being mean to dream. Someone who was her friend and she went to his concert" than avout victims. It's so vile it's more about how "everyone must be nice to dream". It's so vile it's about how "support women ccs except now she's a woman I don't like bc make my male cc sad". It's so vile she's being called a clout chaser, taking dreams help "for granted", that she's a "z list streamer". It's so vile it's only about her friendship to dream actually because she was calling out many perpetrators in her experience as a victim in this career. She didn't betray anyone she stood with fellow victims and utilized her platform to hold them accountable as they receive awards and nominations and a platform continuously after the harm they've caused. And it's telling when the stans are called out and "oh well she was disrespectful to victims" as if they didn't spend most of thr discourse making it about dreams friendships, as if they didn't say victim blaming things since October 2022 that I will never fucking forget.

What gets me is that she didn't even say Dream's name... she just said "groomers are terrible people" in a tongue-in-cheek way and people starting making assumptions. Something something about hit dogs hollering

And so the fact that people would automatically assume she was talking dream and start spreading hatred towards her further goes to show that 1) despite all their posturing, they never cared about her enough to learn a single thing about her, her career, and her community, and 2) they truly never think about anyone but themselves and their man

And I also think it reveals how prevalent and pervasive misogyny is in mcyt as a fandom. To make Niki's multiple experiences as a cc about dream and to be mad she is not the "right kind of victim" or speaking about her experiences in the "right way" heavily links back to people's misogyny. None of those ppl actually cares about her or her experiences or her as a person. To them, she's just a prop for their fav guy even if she doesn't even utter his name. To them, she has to perform always in proximity to "being nice to my fav guy". It's misogyny.
