(he's been sixteen for four years now. they won't let him grow up). wilson asks his name. he says they call him tommy. does he have any family, anyone they can call? he says not anymore.

he's malnourished, he's exhausted, he's hurt. all clear signs of abuse, says wilson. probably a parent. house isn't so sure.

they ask what he means by 'not anymore'. he says his brother is dead and his other brother is gone and his real brother—not by blood, they found him in a box, but he's realer than the others—has a new family now and his not-brother killed him and his dad killed his second brother and he wants to go home.

wilson says they have to call the police. house says the police won't do anything. tommy says, overhearing them somehow, that he doesn't want to go back to prison.
