man I REALLY shouldn't be focusing on history offers right now since I have finals Wednesday + Thursday that I need to study for but. I can't help it. I keep getting reminded of rei the ditto.

I usually try to not get into spoilers on here but i don't care. eventually when rei gets kicked out of jubilife I want to give them like. a weapon. specifically I want to eventually give rei a pair of ice climbing axes that can double as improvised kamas + some sturdy boots with crampons.

my reasoning:

-i love kamas so much it's unreal. by far my favorite weapon I've trained with.

-i think rei deserves to have a little bit of extra self defense while they're stuck as a squishy human.

-im planning on having rei get kicked out early + they won't be getting the full support of the two clans right away, and having climbing gear will let them still navigate while disguised as a human without certain ride pokemon (specifically braviary in the alabaster icelands)

-it would be really funny for someone to see rei successfully climbing a completely vertical ice cliff in the distance. like imagine someone being in the pearl settlement or one of the galaxy team camps and just seeing this kid confidently and casually scaling a cliff face with an over 50 foot drop. ESPECIALLY if they know they got exiled but don't know why, exactly. I think that would make people have a crisis or something

I like to line up the seam with the register key/back side of the clarinet, but placement isn't super important aesthetically since it'll be hidden inside the tenon joint when the instrument is in use. Start from the bevelled end and work toward the other, pressing it into the cork channel.

Press and hold tightly for a few seconds on the overlap to give it a good bond then trim off any large amounts of excess overlap, being careful not to cut too deep.

Sanding to smooth out the join and to bring it down to the correct thickness. (Obvs. the sanding is usually a two-hand job for me, but I needed one hand free to hold the camera.)

Stop frequently to test the fit. Easy to remove material. Not so easy to put it back. There isn't really any hard rule to follow, but I've found that if I can get the joint maybe just over halfway together with the cork dry, it'll fit nicely when I apply grease. (My fav is Selmer's slide and cork grease; the goopy pink stuff.)
