I mean, for example if both regions are Asians but one has borders with another culture those could give you more freedom about the customization, since it will be logical that they could mix (always if it doesn't go against the plot). The other option could be some sort of mutation (like the silver eyes already are), so maybe to give a little more costomization, maybe heterochromia, one eye silver and the other leave it to the reader, or maybe a part of the hair being other color than the rest. Like some sort of semi albinism (so it will be simple even from afar to locate them) If nothing goes you can leave it to forms of braid the hair, clothes etc. The history it's already too good, so if you want, and it will give you more scenarios to write, put it on, if not it's good as it is already. don't worry, i totally get what you mean. the shan and hae are meant to be almost mostly indistinguishable from each other aside from their eye colour, which is why i'm sitting on the fence about this. the fact that majority of the people have a dark hair colour is also something that plays into another character's backstory, hence making this difficult to change. thank you for your feedback and i'll think carefully about this.
