First rains salad

The steady rains have finally begin to fall. We’ve been expecting them since May, but every year they seems to miss out some months. Saramago, the hummingbird who lives in my garden looks to enjoy them. I can see him, peacefully siting in the tip of the bird of paradise with his feathers all soak and his little eyes close, calmly enjoying the beginning of the rainy season.

I decided to make me some lunch, but, I didn’t fell like cooking something complicated, so I look in the fridge and I found a cottage cheese my dad brought me the other day. I decided to make a light salad, and enjoy it while I sat down watching Saramago amused himself in the first rains.

Ingredients

Cottage cheese

Watermelon

Black olives

Fresh basil leaves

Black pepper

Olive oil

Preparation

I did’t put measurements because I made just enough salad for me. The only thing I calculated was 4 spoons of cottage cheese, and the other ingredients I estimated according to what I like. You can do the same!

Put the cottage cheese in a serving bowl

Slice the watermelon in cubes

Slice the black olives in have

Break down the basil leaves with your hands in smal pieces

Mixt it up and add black pepper and olive oil

Enjoy!
