After doing the Fantasy AU for mine and my partner's fursonas, it was only a matter of time before it led to a WoW AU 8D
Arakkoa Corbin was an obvious choice (with a K name since Arakkoa don't seem to use hard Cs), and Sylvar suits Capella much more than Draenei would. I had no idea Sylvar were so furry on their upper bodies until now! I love that. (And of course I made transmogs for them too.)
They're both some flavor of Druid! Capella would be Balance/Resto, Korbin Guardian. I was thinking of doing an owlbear for his main shift, so how kind of Blizz to literally just this patch toss those up on the PTR, like they read my mind 8D They're not native to Draenor, but he'd be learning shapeshifting from Azerothian druids, after arakkoan society gets shaken up, so a bird-bear would be a perfect blend of magics!
Capella is actually the Sylvar that's friends with Zielona, and who heals her up with all that anima! Once the green dragons discover the Ardenweald → Emerald Dream → Azeroth loophole, Zielona brings her over. In awe of all the cross-world choices open to her now, Capella opts to go explore Draenor (somewhere Zielona's never been, so she can tell her about it, and also TIME TRAVEL). That's where she meets Korbin \o/
I'll clean these up someday, maybe, lol.

Old things I keep forgetting to post :D; Non-anthro "Magical AU" versions of our sonas that I originally made up solely for Try to Fall Asleep head-stories xD
Since I can use readmores on Tumblr, here's some extra info about them that you don't have to read but I wrote it so I may as well include it! \o/ It is, however, partially out of date now since I read the ACOTAR series a while ago and decided “Hmm yes I should make my self-indulgent characters even more self-indulgent.” (In short: Capella now has celestial powers and Corbin is the Forest Lord with amnesia.)
Capella
A glaistig fae, and a powerful witch.
Has magic of her own but mostly uses herbs and other reagents to create spell "bundles" for specific, powerful effects. She spends her mornings doing rituals while preparing these spells (did D&D Wizards do something like this in 4E? That's the only Edition I played and have a vague memory of).
The staff she carved herself out of birch wood, and is used as a conduit to direct spells.
When out in society she wears longer dresses to hide her hooves, and uses a minor glamor spell to camouflage her horns amongst a hat or other headwear.
Corbin
A shapeshifting forest spirit. His true form is that of a natural-looking raven, and his base shifting abilities allow him to transform into things that are approximately his own size (ferrets, housecats, etc, though always black with a bluish sheen).
With the enchanted birch twig that Capella gave him - and other more permanent rituals down the line - those powers are drastically amplified.
In addition to simply enlarging his whole body (giant raven form), he can grow birch branches over his body to create additional limbs. Any of his more defined forms can be mixed around to any degree (ie/ "harpy" form, just having wings in human form, etc.)
His human form is the most taxing to keep up, and he can't quite get it to 100%, hence the untransformable bird hand.
When the birch twig is active and growing into limbs, it simply grows at hyperspeed. When shrinking down or changing "skin" (to human form), the spell effects involve white "fire" and peeling birch bark.
Backstory
One day while out gathering in the woods, Capella was attacked by a gargoyle. She was caught off-guard and at a disadvantage, so she called for aid from the forest creatures, and the raven that had been watching her swooped in. She tossed him a heavily-enchanted birch twig that she carried in case of emergencies. Capella was only anticipating the twig to make the bird larger so she could escape on its back, but the twig reacted with the raven's natural magic and the wood sprouted, resulting in a giant, birch-legged bird-beast. Turns out he was a fully-sentient shapeshifter spirit.
They live in a cottage in the woods with a garden next to it and a stream nearby. The ocean is very close - the nearest town is a harbor town.
The "universe" they live in is something akin to the world in Ancient Magus Bride - where folklore and traditional witchcraft are very real things. There isn't much of an overarching plot to their story - they just have random little foresty/magic-related adventures. It's "slice of life".

Hi I’m xuza and I’m really Polish.
I colored a stupid doodle I drew of my state for a good 20min earlier today when I discovered, for the first time, chanterelles growing in the woods behind my house and proceeded to go manic with harvesting. The stick was for spiderwebs.
(Sorry I’ve been pretty dead this month! We have to get ready for FanExpo early this year since we’re flying back to Toronto to do it and don’t want any last minute stuff on our shoulders. Should get back to normal once I’m home again!)

Oh right I forgot to post these here!
So uh, I might have gone and made myself a Capella partial for a con back in March. It’s the first one I’ve ever made, and there’s lots to fix (cough like being able to breathe in it), but I’m still pretty pleased with the result!
There is 100% going to be a matching Corbin one made, but I’ve got some other large projects to finish up first.

Today’s our 4-year wedding anniversary so I was holding on to these to post today, because idk reasons.
I really wanted to make BNHA characters for me and Tom (with Capella+Corbin quirks) but was hesitant to do it because Tokoyami (and, to a lesser extent, Pony) exist and I was worried it’d be too similar >> But then I gave in anyway.
Goat quirk is pretty self-explanatory! I was going to just up and give Tom the crow hands from Bioshock (+wings because hells yeah) but shooting out crow spirits = still too similar to Dark Shadow? Anyway the carrion crow bit was his suggestion and I thought it was great! (Tom also specifically requested chest plumage...)
Anyway BNHA characters all have awful pun names and I could not resist a name like “Shinigami Karasu” lmao. And for the heck of it, I’m making these guys Sumiko’s parents (hence them being older than us) which yes absolutely means her name is Shinigami Sumiko. *insert Reaper smoke gif here* I’m sure quirks could skip a generation :p

A bit of personal work I was slowly puttering away on between commissions.
Capella wearing a traditional Polish folk dress (Łowicz region). I’ve always loved the look of these dresses, though I’ve never personally had the opportunity to wear one.
Embroidery was referenced but drawn by me. Definitely the biggest time-eater on the piece lol. At least it wasn’t all in one go and I could repeat the dress flowers.
