Corrupted Gale or Me not liking his evil route in the game
Just saw this amazing Gale piece
And it gots me thinking, that I kinda do not like the 'evil' route for Gale. Let's start with I LOVE GALE! MY LOVE FOR GALE WILL TRANSEND TIME AND KICK MYSTRA RIGHT IN HER MAGIC.
Yes, art and evil Gale. I want not apowerhungry Gale but a magic comsumer Gale with a potential to go into fullblown corruption. Like a vampire but with magic, like a barbarian rage. If you consume a magic item you can power yourself.
The draw to it that the more you consume the more he chages. How with itilid larvae. I bet there is a monster in dnd that consumes magic and to which Gale can turn into.
And after getting the crown, he wouldn't become a God but a God-like powerful being that survives by sucking all the magic out of things. Next i'll go into shipping territory, don't mind me...he he ^^''
Astarion will let Gale indulge himself in magic when Gale will let Astarion indule himself in Gale's blood... if we change the orb we can like change that his blood is corrupted >.>
You know that in Astarion's story he does the ritual to became a true vampire? Gale uses that to enhance his own powers and with Astarion making vampire spawns, Corrupted Gale changes them slightly so they could walk under the sun but they need to consume magic now and we get A POWERFUL BBEG GAY COUPLE WITH AN ARMY OF VAMPIRE AND MAGIC VAMPIRE SPAWNS. And it's like for the campaign where in region all magic became very sparse and magic users suddenly began loosing their powers because something somewhere consumes it. With the experementation on vamp spaws Gale and Astarion create a more happy vampire spawns that can go out on the sun. But some spawns will stay as normal vampires because it's good to have different guards for the happy bbeg powercouple uwu
PS: I'M NOT SAYING THAT GAYS ARE EVIL! I'M GAY(PAN) AND I VIBE WITH THE IDEA OF POWERFUL GAYS RUNNING THE WORLD AND MAKING IT GREAT FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR KIDS!!!

Another bg3 thought dump but I've been thinking about this all day. I think a big part of why I love the Boat Scene in Gale's romance (or at least the version I've played), and really Gale's Romance in general, is bc there's so much potential for nuance.
My Tav, Zephyr, isn't particularly faithful to any one god or the gods in general (though she does enjoy studying faerunian theology), and so in theory she's not against opposing and maybe even deposing Mystra. But she knows that many of the "gods" of the modern era were once mortals, and until the cycle can be broken she doesn't want anyone, least of all someone she cares about, to take that risk and lose themself.
When I first got to the Boat Scene, I couldn't help the feeling of dread I got bc I was sure Gale and Zephyr were about to break up. Bc I knew how strongly Gale wanted this and for (mostly) the right reasons, but I also knew Zephyr wasn't going to budge. And I feel like in many games, that would be that; characters disagree, they break up. Even though Zephyr would be against it for Gale's sake, bc she loves who he is, not who he could be.
But the dialogue is so interesting bc it actually lets them argue about it, while also giving the player to stay with him anyway.
"This doesn't have to be the end for us."
"But I could be so much more to you."
Now true source of Gale motivation is revealed. He feels like he's not enough. Which allows Zephyr to reiterate that he is, and they stay together and even grow closer!
It just makes both characters feel very real to me, and I appreciate that they can talk and argue until they get deeper and deeper into why the other one feels this way. It's almost like how couples actually are in real life!

How Juntae Brought About Baekjin's Downfall: A Look at the Corruption Case
Seopass and Kim Jinseok had never clarified what EXACTLY Juntae (Eugene) did to make Baekjin (Donald) mad enough and want to kill him. I saw some people asking about this, so I'll try to explain based on what I studied about corruption in Asian context.
DISCLAIMER: I'm not an expert
First, what are Baekjin's corruption M.Os (modus operandi)?
Baekjin built a network with various businessmen who used to hire him and his gang for multiple dirty jobs.
They worked together to build multiple various false portofolio for fraudulent tenders that on first glance seemed legit (remember how he competed in a Math Olympiad and most likely other competitions too, just to build a credibility for Yeoil High on paper?)
This network harrassed, coerced, and blackmailed other businesspeople to gain control on various business sectors.
The network also regularly bribed the city government (and its related agencies) by the dirty money and assets. So that the officials would turn a blind eye to the fraudulent tenders and help falsify the auditing results.
Since projects only fell to the hands of this dirty network, the members got rich pretty fast and they underhandedly invested more and more in new projects.
Second, what did Juntae actually do?
Juntae competed in an open competition for city infrastructure development. In such competitions, multiple prototypes are designed and then are submitted openly to the city government and related agencies.
The participants, including Juntae, didn't know that the city government and agencies were already in cahoots with Baekjin & co. They thought that their prototypes would be built for sure.
By mistake, the mayor approved and legalized Juntae's design, which ruined the network. Why was it ruined? You see, the members must've spent so much on underhanded investments in infrastructure projects, falsifying auditing results, bribing, wining and dining with officials, and scaring off people in business areas (it takes a lot to hire construction machines, workers, etc etc).
After Juntae's invention was approved, a real fair and honest tender and auditing had to be done. The past frauds would've been uncovered. If this happened, Baekjin, his network members and the city officials would've stood trial in the Criminal Court and would've been heavily fined, and/or jailed.
Juntae designed his prototype after interviewing the businessmen that Baekjin ruined. So there was a chance that, under the Korean laws, Juntae might testify in Baekjin & co's trials through a legal representative in absentia or in person (because he was a minor they would've had to determine whether he was a competent witness or not before summoning him).
Since it was publicized that Juntae's design was the winner, Baekjin saw him as a target. From then on, Juntae's life was in danger.

Drider Minthara universe headcanons
Okay so in this universe, each companion ended up choosing the "darker path"
Reader is not Tav or durge, they haven't met any of the companions before and don't know them. Only read about them in history books.
The exact time that passed since the events of bg3 is 100 years.
Gale ascended to godhood and used the orb to create a new lawless magic that worked completely different than Mystra's. It knows no bounds or limits, a church was established in his following soon after to teach and make new wizards.
Astarion became a vampire ascended, he is one of the biggest noble influences on Baldur's Gate politics. He has gathered hundreds of spawns and his worshippers and fanatics are only growing.
Shadowheart became the chosen of Shar, her life-span got extended and she ruled over the temple in the underdark. Astarion is not aware of her people's influence on the city but she is very much aware of his.
Wyll became the new official archduke of baldur's gate. Akin to a king as he got handed all the power his father previously wielded. His view on the world being black and white, good and evil, never changed and only grew more zealous. His original ideals of looking into grey areas were left abandoned. Behind the curtains Mizora offered a new contract to extend his lifespan.
Laezel became Vlaakith's silver sword, handing in Voss's head as a gift. The lich queen shared with her a small section of her power that allowed her to surpass her mortal limits. The sight of her red dragon could steer fear in the hearts of many.
No one knows what happened to Karlach, she seemed to just disappear one day. But her name couldn't be found on the list of those who parted this world, so she is very much alive.
Halsin embraced the shadow druid ways, after seeing the horrors of so called civilised cities who turned its head on the poor and weak.
Lastly Minthara. Who went back to her house in the underdark after handing it Orin's head. Who was surprisingly welcomed back. But her loyalty were still called into suspicion as her sisters demanded a trial. Lolth granted them that. Minthara knew Lolth wasn't done playing with her and that it was a trap yet she still went there and became a drider.
The paladin-wizards that attack reader and Minthara inside their nests are followers of Gale! His magic doesn't get suppressed by the sussur tree.
The bloodrose is a real thing in dnd, larian used it in divinity 2 and i thought it would be cool to make it bloom inside a sussur tree since they're polar opposite flowers.
Maybe i am lowkey giving Reader some form of blood magic.
Also yes, the dark Shadowheart here is almost the same as the one in the dark shart concept. Except there was no Tav this time.

I kinda like the whole sorcerer!gale idea. I don’t have it as a headcanon bc, personally, I just think he was a super fucking nerd as a kid and decided reading magic textbooks was fun so he ended up casting spells quite early and not by accident like a magical bloodline sorc would (I think??).
But I like thinking of a sorc!gale au. It’s really funny and even a bit sad. I genuinely don’t know how someone with a sorcerer bloodline who trains as a wizard would work. I’d think his bloodline would either be very weak or he simply doesn’t have the charisma to control the sorc magic (sorry gale. your charisma is NOT high enough to multiclass into sorc).

AIGHT GUYS THE AU IS FINALLY DONE-
okokok, so heres what it's basically abt:
So instead of getting trapped in bubble things, all the teachers absorb differing amounts of shadow energy due to some eldritch being (not Puppet Master). Instead of focusing on the MC however, it mainly is abt the villians (order of influence) and newly corrupted teachers because I am OBSESSED with evil protags. AND HERES THE FUN PART, all the teachers have a small part of their conscience that is aware and tries to stop them from doing some pretty bad things. OH and Gale and the Puppet Master are connected (NOT A SHIP) because I fully headcannon that Puppet master is either Gale or Noot's shadow. The logic doesn't rlly follow up in cannon, but this aint cannon >:D
I'll probably write/draw this AU more, and I can't wait to explore the themes and whatnot!

lich gale is sososo sexy, i think more people should talk about him
skeletal hand tracing your back and shoulder blades, whispy hair floating around his face like smoke. voice rougher than usual, and markings from the netherese orb have clawed deeper into his skin. instead of a warm olive undertone gracing his skin, a bruising blue purple sits under it. one eye turned indigo as a proud achievement of lichdom, both eyes lidded and trained only on you. a small smirk, revealing sharper canines, beard and mustache curling around his cheeks and upper lip like a cage, keeping those canines in line.
his shuddering breathing as he smells the weave on you, almost getting drunk on the electric hot smell alone. gripping your hips, bone on skin, as he stuffs his face into your collar bone, finding the source of the weave - a necklace, enchanted by a small town sorcerer (something he could do in his sleep, he notes, ever cataloguing). catching the pendant in his teeth, and pulling, chain klinking against the movement. he inhales, and the magic arcs, wafting and snapping into his mouth and nose. he moans, eyes rolling, magic coursing though his system as he feels it empower him.
the lich kneeling between your legs, pillow under his own. your foot is in his lap, as his hands rub your calf muscles and dip lower to your ankles - all covered by smooth leather, enchanted and thick. he lifts and bends your leg to meet his mouth, unhinging his jaw. he lolls out his tongue and licks, long fat stripes along the toe of the boot. his skeletal digits skirt along the dark leather heel, and he places the toe of the boot into his mouth. tongue flat against the sole of the new boot, he closes his jaw. he sucks the magic from the shoe lewdly, and if you weren't watching him, you wouldve thought he was sucking a cock as quietly as he could.
he leans back, magic in his blood, pulsing through the orb, and sighs oh so happily. he levels you with a stare and runs his tongue along the top row of his teeth. "i wonder if there is any other magic you have parading in front of me." he leans into you, and you smell ozone, a sea breeze, the smell of a storm coming - his faint breath from his un-death skirts along your neck and ear, cold. "shall i check, my love?"
