Glass Faces - Corelia (Piano Cover) - Leo Faulkner Upload date: Jan 13, 2012
Description: "Just for the record, I will soon be giving piano lessons. Inbox me if you are interested.
This cover was relatively difficult because I had to try and make the song not sound repetitive given that I am using a single instrument and this song uses the same chord structure almost throughout (apart from the intro.) But nonetheless, this song will blow anyone away. It will make your brain turn into a pack of starbursts.
Next up AVIATION!"

11 24 n 30 for tha music asks
11. A song that you never get tired of
love? - strapping young lad
24. A song by a band that you wish were still together
glass faces - corelia, although in corelia’s case it’s more that i wish they hadn’t run off with their crowdfund money and disappeared into the ether
30. A song that reminds you of yourself
those who can’t, cheat - clarence clarity, which could have also been my answer for number 11, which has this beautiful poetry in the first verse line ‘alpha male and i’ll fight tooth and nail’ which is an extremely masculine declaration delivered in this lilting falsetto and which in the second verse is responded to with ‘i’m the girl as far as i can tell’, which definitely caused me to have a deeply personal moment the other day

Prompt because Irish summer was this weekend and the heat is fabulous: Ben can’t stop starring at the girl who his mom hired to clean her pool. (Suggested title: Nice legs, Daisy Dukes, Makes Ben Solo go really silent)
This prompt is AMAZING @nazemova and I’m so sorry that it took me forever to fill. I hope that this fits the bill!
His mother was out to kill him. That was the only explanation for the work of art that was walking into his parent’s backyard with a brilliant smile on her lips and near nothing on her body. Three days of this torture was going to cause him a literal heart attack. He had agreed to house sit for his parents while they went on some weird trip with Luke. Being in Corelia wasn’t usually horrible, but between the literal heat in the air and the figurative heat that was clutching his nerves when he looked at this pool girl, Ben Solo was thoroughly uncomfortable and ready for his parents to return.
Ben had been taught from a very young age that objectifying women was absolutely not okay under any circumstances. Women weren’t made to be looked at and starting was impolite. Because he was fully aware of these facts and he truly, honestly, believed them, Ben felt like an absolute creep as he sat on the porch and watched the tan skinned angel peel away her tank top. She was just as tan on her smooth abdomen as she was on her arms and the green halter style bikini top was giving her already perky chest a pleasant lift. This was horrible and wrong and every bit of him was feeling guilty for enjoying the sight. I’m a horrible pervert.
She was entirely unaware of him and didn’t cast any looks his way. Her arms stretched up above her head and she loosed a hum before tying her hair up with the scrunchy on her wrist and making her way over to the net. The pool wasn’t really all that dirty. There were a few leaves and twigs but it wasn’t anything that would take her too long to clean. Ben was impossibly grateful for this fact.
If watching her pulled off her tank top had been bad, watching her clean the pool was exponentially worse. Her legs were so long and toned and her cutoff jean shorts were unfairly short when she bent at the waist. He swore he could see the bottom of her plump a--Don’t look! Brown eyes ripped away from her and he swallowed hard. Heat burned under his skin. He must have been at least seven shades of red and he was so pale that if she looked back she would absolutely notice the discoloration.
Jerkily, he got to his feet and wandered inside. The conditioned air made him shiver after such incredible heat. Just in case the cool temperature wasn’t enough to stop his thoughts, Ben put his head in the kitchen sink and turned on the water. He felt his composure slowly return to him as the steady stream soaked his hair and neck. So long as she stayed inside, he wouldn’t have to worry about the scorching nightmare outside.
Ben turned off the faucet and stood upright, letting the water drip from his hair and drench the shoulders of his gray t-shirt. He caught his breath and the last shreds of his decency and then sat down on the couch to play a video game. There was no time to think about pool cleaning angels when he was buried deep in the annoying mechanics of some fps game. He pulled his dampened shirt over his head and threw off in some random direction before picking up a controller and smashing the urge to go back outside.
He was about fifteen minutes into playing with a knock on the window caused him to jump an entire foot into the air. The chirping song of his defeat played to further rub in how pathetic he look. He knew before he even looked that it had to be her. Ben braced himself for impact and then flicked his eyes towards the window.
His heart tried to exit his body via his throat. She caught his gaze with those hazel wonders and then beckoned him with a single slender finger. This was the sort of thing that horny teenage boys dreamed about; a stunning girl in daisy dukes and a bikini top inviting him into the backyard to show her how to clean a filter. Instead of thinking about that kind of outcome, though, Ben was too busy worrying over the fact that she just saw him without a shirt.
Scandalized, he frantically made move to collect the discarded gray fabric. Ben wasn’t self conscious about his body, his face was another story, but his body was above average in way of muscle. The issue here was that she hadn’t asked to see it and he had just imposed the sight on her.
After securing his shirt back over his torso, Ben made his way to the backdoor and popped his head out into the nasty warmth. “What can I do for you?” He asked as evenly as possible.
“If it’s not too much trouble, would it be alright if I stepped in and got a drink?” She flashed him a lovely smile, all teeth and gums. Lord, she has an accent too.
“Oh uh… Yeah, yeah… yeah. Come in!”
She laughed, her head tilting back and the sound of an angelic choir exiting her lips. “You’re blocking the door. You’re kind of broad.”
“R-Right….” Ben wanted to crawl under into a ditch and die. He had never been so embarrassed in his entire life—including the time that he ran out of gas on the freeway at two in the morning and had a cop repeatedly ask him if he was drunk.
He stepped back and she sashayed into the house. She headed straight for the kitchen, Ben trailing close behind her. She was humming a song he didn’t know and he was desperately trying to ignore the sweat rolling down her shoulder blades and the sheer number of freckles on her back.
In the kitchen, they both reached for the cupboard with glasses and bumped hands. A shot of adrenaline rolled through him. “I can get it.”
“If you’d like.” She nodded and stepped aside. He was sure it was wishful thinking that painted her cheeks a soft pink. “So…” She leaned up against the counter. “You must be Ben.”
“Yes.” He answered too quickly. “Do you want ice?”
“Yes please. I’m Rey, by the way. I’ve been working for your parents for about two months, but I’ve worked for Luke for four summers now.”
“It’s so hot in Corelia. I hope they pay you well to be out there for hours.” He handed her the glass and tried his hand at a smile.
“Oh hell, they pay great! I don’t have any complaints. They let me use the pool with my friends too so long as I call and ask ahead.” Rey downed the entire glass, ice and all, in under two minutes. She sighed and then stretched her hands up over her head. “Mmm, that hit the spot. Thank you.”
Ben was frozen like a statue. He knew his face was beat red and his eyes were struggling to find a place to settle. “Yeah… uh… you’re welcome.”
“Hey.” She leaned a little closer after setting her arms down. “Would you like to come keep me company for a little while? I know it’s hot out there, but the work goes by faster with good conversation.”
“Yes.” He blurted out before he could stop himself. This was absolute torture and he was doing it to himself. “I would love to keep you company.”
“Great!” Rey took told of his arm and tugged him back out the door.
Her actual work was done in a matter of minutes, but they chatted at the edge of the pool for nearly an hour. The sun was assaulting them from above and doing its very best to ruin the moment, but between the cool pool water on his feet and the stunning angel at his side, the mood was impossible to destroy. Ben was starting to think that maybe, just maybe, these three days wouldn’t be as stressful as he originally thought.
This assumption was shattered when Rey returned the next day in a black bikini top and denim shorts even shorter than yesterday’s. Great.

Red Sky Harbor - Corelia (Piano Cover) Leo Faulkner Date Uploaded: January 4, 2012
Description: "This is definitely one of those "I want to hear this before I die" type songs, by which I mean it is both technically brilliant and deeply moving. Once again, I would urge anyone to listen to Corelia as they are in my opinion one of the most unique bands out there.
Next up: Glass Faces"
