for those who dont know theres a "reveal your worst hear me out" trend going around on tiktok rn and im seeing SO many people put monsters and objects on there and it fills me with such joy. they're the only ones doing it correctly whether it's "ironic" or not

Redefining Spirictum

Flag and term not by me.

Spirictum, as originally described, was "a form of objectum where each, many or any of your objectum buds/partners have also a spiritual form! this form can travel the objects it posseses(...)"

When I encountered this term, It was me. It was who I am. My relationship with my now wife is spirictum because she's a spirit. But the definition never felt like it was made to stand on its own. Like spirictum wasn't an actual attraction but it was a state or addition. That's not bad, but when it comes to a lasting term usage, it's forgotten because of that fact.

So I've decided to redefine Spirictum.

Spirictum, to me, is the attraction to physical spirits. Physical in this case simply means implied to be autonomous or mentally aware. Spirits mean any being that is not physically alive or identifiable. If we wanted to get to the point, we could say the attraction to tangible spirits. Because these spirits have now inhabited inanimate objects, they have become tangible, but are still spirits.

So my version is that spirictum is the attraction to tangible spirits. And it fits the original concept, which was being in love with an object (tangible being) that's being hosted by a spirit (spirit being).

This definition not only fits with the purpose of the objectum label but ideally represents others who have actual attraction to the idea of spirits.

Why not conceptum?

Conceptum is the attraction to concepts. Usually, you wouldn't call a person or a tangible creature a concept. So it doesn't fit in conceptum despite a lot of doubts. Some people refer to headmates or alters as "concepts" but they forget to look at the fact that the alter/headmate is a person and is not exactly under an inanimate object or concept. So a spirit that is from another reality, from a spiritual journey or elsewhere, should be treated like a person in an object's position rather than an object being raised as a person. They're a person first, and object bodied.

The attraction to spirits should be different from conceptum as a whole. Spirictum can describe the love for a real life loss through the body of a doll or computer. It can describe the friendship joys between two reality-different people who finally meet each other, they could describe using dolls as representation for their soul/spirit, or they could describe the spiritual journey used by people to build bonds. Conceptum can fit these, they just can't be described within these scenarios properly.

So spirictum is important to some , especially POSIC+, Spirituals, or Plural folks who have a knack for these things. Rock on, keep loving spirits out there.

• Objectum sexuality is the romantic or other attraction to objects! (There's also objectum platonic which includes strong friendships with objects).

•OS/OR (objectum sexuality/objectum romantic) is not caused by trauma and is not a kink. The objects are generally viewed as more animate, and there is a definate love between the person and their object.

•OS/OR is correlated with autism and object-personification synaesthesia.

• Object-personification synaesthesia is a type of synaesthesia where the person sees objects as having personality characteristics which are stable over time! The person may experience this for all objects or only certain types.

• "Object partner" is commonly used as the term for the object the person is in a romantic or other relationship with.

• Objectum sexuality is frequently misrepresented in the media whenever it gets attention.

• POSIC is a related term which stands for perceiving object sentience, individuality, and consciousness.

• The difference betweeen the terms is that objectum specifically refers to attraction to objects, while POSIC refers to beliefs about the object. One can be both POSIC and objectum or be one without the other.

• There are also many sublables under the objectum umbrella including quiltum (attraction to quilts specifically), conceptum (concepts), technum (technology), and likely hundreds more!
