Sonic’s been more acceptable to hugs in canon. Specifically with Tangled and Amy. He also has small examples with the Wisps as well. It makes me think after Sonic Forces where Sonic’s had no contact with ANYONE for 6 months, he’s grown to like hugs A LOT more.

After Sonic Forces:

Before Forces Sonic politely pushes the Wisps away from him for some personal space. While after Forces he greets them with open arms. This gives off the impression after disasters like the metal virus or Frontiers where Sonic couldn’t even high-five his friends, the blue hedgehog grew to be more physically affectionate towards his friends. I guess Sonic decided it was something he wanted to appreciate while he’s able to.

Makes you really wonder how those obstacles might’ve permanently affected him. To be fair those situations including the one with Surge, did a total number on the guy in some fashion. We were told about it more then shown in Forces but it still counts.

Or maybe I’m looking WAY too much into things. It’s your call!

NEED to be grabbed and held like this please sir I'll be much more positively accepting dkfgjdhgkfdkhf

just being a tiny little Wisp or critter and getting grabbed by the limbs/ears/tail/etc by the scary big tall grizzly bear and being held high above his head in his strong tight grip, helpless and impossible to escape 🥰💜💘

the way he's 6' 1" and has very long arms so he can hold them up so high! and if he extended his arms all the way on top of that it'd be even crazier for them, if they can't fly they may not have even been so far away from the ground before hehe

I looove his devilish grin at the Wisp and would love for him to look at me like that when I'm in his grasp but his disapproving glare at the Pocky is cute too and I would like for him to intimidate me by holding me firmly in place and staring me down either way

and the way the poor little Wisp wriggles helplessly in his big strong paw 😍 I need to be there

ngl if they do ever remaster any of the 3d sonic games i reaaalllyyy hope they dont redo any of the voice acting. and if they do then they should either just re record the lines with as many people from the original cast as possible and only make replacements when necessary or leave an option to switch to the old audio if they redo it with the current cast. i do not mean this as an attack on the current cast theyre all very talented and are just doing their jobs but seeing sonic unleashed or sonic adventure 2 or sonic and the black knight or whatever be redone with the current cast would feel so wrong in a way i cannot explain

#maybe im just biased because a lot of my favorite voices for the characters are not from the current cast #but also the way certain characters sound in certain games just feels like an iconic Part Of The Game #that shouldnt be changed or else the whole vibe gets thrown off. idk #i know with sonic colors ultimate they kept all the original voice acting but #i dont think they even redid the cutscenes at all they just put them in completely unchanged?#and most of the voice cast from that game are still voicing those characters anyway #so there wasnt really any point in re recording any of the voice acting #i do remember though in sonic colors rise of the wisps they got tails's voice actor from that game to come back and voice him there #so maybe thats a sign that if they ever remastered an older game they would keep the original cast #i just realized the way i worded the main post makes it sound like colors ultimate doesnt exist #well. colors ultimate barely counts as a remaster to me from what ive seen they barely changed anything and its more of a port

I preferred to only include named characters (technically Jade was just a nickname), so they got sent to the Shadow Realm bonus round!

Their people were captured by Eggman. She tried to help a group who had evaded capture in freeing some of their friends, but she ended up being the only one to escape, and searched for help

ok guys, I just rewatched "Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps" just for fun and oh my gosh actually that short is so funny!! and good!! I forgot just how entertaining it was and how much I love metal sonic & orbot and cubot's portrayals and the cute little story, and sonic and tails are cute brothers and the wisps are endearing. I love this silly little short.
