the s9e06 episode "A War For All Seasons" is the strongest evidence, to my mind, that M*A*S*H 4077 is a time loop, because a) an entire year takes place in one episode which does not appear to fit in with the events of the preceding seasons, b) the episode begins on New Year's Eve 1950/51, with Colonel Potter playing the Old Year/Father Time in a repurposed cotton wool Santa Claus beard and carrying a cardboard and tinfoil scythe. BJ is there in his ugly hat. Klinger is company clerk.

Colonel Sherman T Potter took up command of M*A*S*H 4077 on 19 September, 1952, the same time BJ Hunnicutt arrived. Henry Blake was the commanding officer in 1950 and Radar O'Reilly was his clerk. At least, on their first time around the loop.
