Chatting About Creepy Tunnels Under Collin Creek Mall on the Plano Podcast (Plus Photos)
A couple weeks ago, I got the opportunity to sit down with Tammy Hooker and Mary Jacobs who run the fantastic Plano Podcast. As you may have guessed, the show centers around Plano, Texas and the things that makes that city so damn special. Tammy was a fantastic host to converse with as was Mary who is the show’s producer.
On this particular episode, they called me in to discuss my experiences while urban exploring the storm drain tunnels and culverts underneath Collin Creek Mall. The episode was fantastically fun to do and I tried my best not to burp while talking as I drank my Shiner beer, (probably should have gone with wine). They initially reached out to me based on my article, “Exploring Dallas Area Storm Drains and a Mystery Tunnel”. Among other tunnels, I talk about the underground Spring Creek waterways that follow a path beneath Collin Creek Mall.
That article came out in 2017, but after being contacted by Mary and Tammy for the podcast, and Mary’s upcoming book on the subject, I decided to explore it once more to provide better pictures and to refresh my memory for the upcoming discussion. The Plano Podcast episode I’m featured on is below as well as some of the photos I most recently took of the tunnels and “The Room”. Be sure to give this episode a listen and check out the rest of the topics they cover revolving around the city of Plano. Enjoy!
Photos from my solo adventure down into the tunnels earlier this month:
