After much soul searching I've decided that I’d like to invite anyone back into our slimming world members only Facebook group who I haven't seen for a while with the hope of sticking around when normality resumes in these troubled times. On Friday, I began the journey of putting my money into a black-owned bank. Sometimes you literally have to put your money where your mouth is and put your money in the hands of your people. As a seemingly financially literate Black American, I must ensure that these financial institutions don’t die out. If they do die, there are no alternatives for Black peoples.

How you gonna say that “Black _______s Matter” when you don’t actively invest your time, money, and/or energy to proving that they truly matter? The worst thing I can do is be educated about the generational wealth gaps among Black peoples in America and not do better for my future kids and grandkids.

All in all: #BankBlack. If we don’t, who will?
