Don't you remember how devastated I was when we last went into Wycome and the latest chapter of Swords and Shields wasn't at the bookstore? And now I find out you've been running around killing demons with the very guy who writes it?
I expect your apology in full, along with the chapters I'm missing. I hear this 'Inquisition' is very connected so it shouldn't be too difficult.

First, we receive news that the conclave that you were attending literally exploded. Then, we don’t hear word of you for weeks. Just before Mother was about to demand special permission from Keeper Istimaethoriel to seek you out herself, a raven arrived with a note that simply read “alive”, which you didn’t even bother signing. Mythal’enaste, I’m glad I can recognize your handwriting from a mile away.
I expect your next letter to at least be a paragraph detailing where you are and if you’re safe. You owe us that, at least! I understand you’ve always done things your way, but to keep (here, there is a small scratched out portion, where you can faintly see the word ‘me’ underneath) the entire clan, your family, in the dark is unacceptable.
If we do not receive word of you within the next month, I will assume the Dread Wolf has taken you.
p.s. I’m glad you’re alive. Father burst into tears when he heard. Mother has still demanded special permission from Keeper Istimaethoriel to seek you out herself.

Happy friday indeed! I'm not sure how this is the scene I decided on but here's some just-barely-before-Trespasser Atrian Lavellan/Dorian Pavus, when Atrian learns what Dorian's planning for Tevinter.

“You know what you’re planning here,” Atrian sucked in a harsh breath as the depth of Dorian’s notes truly struck him. When had it started? “If you do this, everything in Tevinter changes.”
“Yes, well, I suppose I have to do something to live up to your legend, haven’t I?” Dorian coughed into his hand, clearly discomfited by the wonder in Atrian’s voice. “Perhaps I’ve simply come to realize that my homeland needs some changes.”
“This isn’t ‘some’.” Atrian released one slow breath. It was ambitious, but if Dorian had the allies he thought he did, even if the Inquisition didn’t help him openly it would change so much. Freeing the slaves was only a single facet. “You’ll be a modern day Andraste.”
“Does that make you Mafarath? No, don’t answer Amatus, I don’t think I want this particular analogy to go any further.” He’d learned his lesson about Atrian’s witty tongue apparently. It had only taken him a few years. “So. What do you think? Really?”
“I think I want to drag you up to my tower. And that you deserve all the wine.”
“While that is sweet and very tempting, you know that isn’t what I meant.”
“I’m- Dorian, I’ve never been so glad we had a shouting match in the middle of Haven. Really. But Archon? Do you think you can do it?”
“Well it’s- it’s not strictly necessary to make things work but- well, you know how these people are. Take Orlesian nobility, make them all mages and wedge the sticks another foot up their asses and you get the picture. Also the blood magic but I'm not sure where that fits in the analogy. Maybe that's the frilly cakes. You know there’s little else that will get their attention; the only thing that makes them listen is power. Else the only other option is likely a civil war, and I’d rather like to avoid it.”
“If that’s what it takes.” Atrian nibbled his lip. “I’ll do what I can to convince the Council to back you up-”
“That’s another thing I wanted to talk to you about, actually. I don’t want the Inquisition involved if we can avoid it. A revolution created by outsiders, especially ones affiliated with the Southern Chantry, it wouldn’t work. We’re proud people, and if there’s even the slightest inkling that it’s the work of outside forces- it wouldn’t take. Because it wouldn’t be Tevinter reforming itself, and slavery and the blood magic- it would return in our lifetime, if I succeed on those terms.”
Dorian’s words were a blow, much as Atrian understood. “You’re leaving then.” Alone. Atrian had thought he might finally lay down his mantle and follow, but if Dorian needed him to stay in the South… “When?” It hurt.
“After your grand hearing at the Winter Palace, I suppose. I’d rather not leave you alone to handle it, and Maevaris says there’s a bit more to do to lay the groundwork for my return. But it can’t be long after. I… I hear my father has taken ill, and I should at least do my filial duty to sit at his death bed if it’s come to that.”
“Of course.” Atrian didn’t really try to keep the hurt from his voice, so it was no surprise that Dorian noticed this time.
“Amatus, I- I won’t be gone forever you know. A few years perhaps. Or you could come to Tevinter, just not- not immediately.”
“You’re right, Vhenan.” Atrian took Dorian’s hand from his cheek and pressed a kiss into the palm. “It won’t be long. Besides, you’ve spent all this time as the Inquisitor’s man, perhaps it’s time we reverse that a bit.”
The nobles wanted the Inquisition dismantled? That worked just fine for Atrian. He’d not leave Dorian along in the viper’s nest for long, not if he could help it.

At first glance, the garden is deceptively empty. A second look reveals a pair of horns peeking out from behind the planters of herbs tucked into the corner which leads to the rather obviously hiding form of The Iron Bull. He hasn’t noticed her yet, but the second she sees him, Circe smiles and starts towards him, doing her best not to make a sound.

For @dadrunkwriting Inquisitor Ixchel Lavellan, The Brave Guide and Bride of the Wolf, receives a letter that leaves her utterly speechless.

Ixchel stares at the letter for quite some time after she reaches its end (a simple enough signature: Sebastian), one hand raised pensively to her lips, a frown wrinkling her brow.
Until now, the poetry of the Prince's letters could be ascribed to his learned nature, the religious verse he was raised with, the grandeur of a noble. They often spoke in hyperbole, she had found over the years, especially those who played at the Grand Game. Starkhaven was not so far removed from its Orlesian allies to be free of such influence, and so for much of their correspondence Ixchel had squinted past the flowery prose and replied directly to the needs and questions layered beneath.
But with this last line, she can no longer deny what she has absolutely not allowed herself to believe to this point.
Sebastian Vael, Prince of Starkhaven, is courting her.
She slowly lowers this latest missive and looks over at the bundle of letters sent by the same man over the past several years. She has kept them all—she keeps all her letters, organized by sender—and realizes, with no small amount of chagrin, that its volume is only rivaled by the letters Dorian has sent her since they parted.
Dorian, at least, will be pleased to know that he still wins out by leagues and miles.
He'll be even more pleased to know he has more material to taunt her with.
Ixchel rubs her thumb across her lip, then begins to chew on her knuckle as she sinks down in her chair. She must reconsider everything Sebastian has ever said to her. When did this begin? She had suspected it, that long night as she helped him wrangle his son to bed. They had sat so far apart, tag-teaming a tale of adventure fit to send the child to sleep, and had talked so long into the night that it was hard not to imagine a fondness growing between them. He had pushed her hair behind her ear so gently, when he walked her back to her rooms—perhaps it had been then, that his affections had been sparked?
It warmed her somewhat to think that it was her love for his child that had inspired this pursuit. But Varric had also been teasing her about Sebastian's attention for much longer than even that.
She mentally leafs through his previous letters, her chest tightening as certain turns of phrase leap out to her. None, none at all, were so close to being a declaration of intent or love as this one, but if she stripped away the Andrastianisms, there was a warmth and earnestness to each message. He wished her well, and wanted to know what things made her happy, and what she loved about the world. He offered her his thoughts, valued her advice and offered his own. He remembered little things, like the changes she had made to her armor between visit to Starkhaven, and how she had been struggling with phantom pains in her arm in the summer months when she missed Solas the most.
A small laugh burst out from Ixchel, taking her entirely by surprise. She covered her face in her hands and bowed over her desk with her breath shaking in the wake of the startling mix of emotions in her breast.

How in the world was she supposed to respond to that?

Never. She insists on traditional Dalish recipes as often as possible, and even scolded me once for ‘poor preparation’ as she put it. It’s almost as if she is intent on torturing me! But to suggest that out loud…No, no, I shouldn’t. Either way, I ask that you please, please appeal to the Inquisitor on my behalf - I can’t continue on like this when I have all of Skyhold to feed as well!

It seems like her victory against the decidedly un-chic Corypheus (with not a hair out of place to show for it, my sources say!) isn’t the only thing inspiring the people of Orlais and beyond!
Whether it be your choice of rouge, fabric, or whatever else you fancy, the color of the season is red red red!
As I sit here, dye settling in my hair, I can’t help but wonder how the Inquisitor will inspire us yet! Perhaps next season a Qunari lover will be à la mode!

“...Simply put, the former Inquisitor is a formidable woman. We never spoke during my time at the Winter Palace, as other - arguably more important - matters had the entirety of her attention. What little I did see of her, though, struck me. You may think that now that the Inquisition has disbanded, Lady Lavellan may drift off into relative obscurity.
I do not believe this will happen.
She is a shrewd, calculating woman, and though the Inquisition may be disbanded in name, I do not believe it to be disbanded fully in practice. With a new threat on the rise combined with Lady Lavellan’s rage at the conclusion of Exalted Council, I suspect that she will pursue the matter herself. Whether or not she is successful, of course, is another matter. Either way, I do not believe her to be a threat to our personal agenda.

BEST EXPERIENCE: Honestly all the friends I’ve made RPing here. I love your muses, your writing, YOU PEOPLE, and I have so much fun writing with friends here and getting to know you. PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS: I don’t mind ooc stuff, but I do prefer to write on a fantasy setting. I make a few exceptions with particular AU plotlines discussed with my RP partners, but it’s definitely something I prefer.
Dealbreakers: any kind of abuse on our RP experience together, or continuing to make me uncomfortable after we’ve already discussed it. I’m not here for politics either, or to hear anyone’s racism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, any hate speech and I’m out. I want RP to be a safe, fun experience for me and everyone I write with, not a stressful one.
FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT: All of it. I love all. Of course shipping will depend on chemistry and I like to plot this stuff beforehand, especially if we have a long-term plotline planned. And angst... Man I love angst. Hit me with all the angst!
I sometimes get burnt out with smut, but that only means I’ll be a little slower to reply to that kind of thread because I want to give you quality writing in the right mindset.
PLOTS OR MEMES: Both! I love planning long-term plotlines with my partners, but memes are the perfect icebreaker and a lot of fun, unexpected interactions come from them: they also help when I’m a little burnt out and need a push.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: I personally get more invested with longer replies over short banter replies, but that doesn’t mean you have to match my reply length at all, or that I expect you to. I simply feel that a lot more development can come from longer replies, and we have more to work with.
BEST TIME TO WRITE: Fridays and weekens mostly. I work full time as a designer and also have chores and errands as everyone else. Weekends are the best time for me to write, though I will write during the week if I catch a break and feel the urge to reply.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): We share some traits in a way, and I think it’s a common thing to project some stuff into your characters. For example, Aylen’s constant curiosity and eagerness to learn is something that I have too, as well as being protective and family/friend-driven. That said, we’re also very different. Aylen is an extrovert, I’m a lot more of an introvert; she’s super friendly and eager to surround herself with people, I’m a bit shy. We both get frustrated when things don’t work out, but Aylen gets up to try again a lot easier and quicker than I do. She’s such an optimist too, and always tries to see the bright side in everything - something I struggle with more often than not. We’re not the same person, we have different opinions, but I love our differences and challenging myself when I write her, getting out of my comfort zone.

Meaning behind your username?: Renegade was a reference to Mass Effect, which I was replaying the hell out of when I made this account, and the Skywalker is there for obvious reasons... I actually think the original handle I had for this sideblog was renegade-lavellan (at the height of my Inquisition phase...) but I deleted it because it got overrun by bots :(
