A BANDA: RBD

RBD foi uma banda mexicana de pop, que ficou mundialmente conhecida com a novela "Rebelde", que foi exibida entre 2004 e 2006. O grupo era formado por Anahi, Alfonso Herrera, Dulce Maria, Christopher von Uckermann, Maite Perroni e Christian Chávez. Algumas das músicas mais populares de RBD até hoje são "Sálvame", "Solo Quédate en Silencio", "Nuestro Amor" e "Así Soy Yo".

Apesar de terem se separado oficialmente em 2009, o grupo fez uma reunião em dezembro de 2020, com apenas 4 integrantes - Anahi, Maite, Christopher e Christian - na live "Ser o Parecer". De acordo com o portal Terra, cerca de 2,5 milhões de telespectadores assistiram ao show virtual. Um pouco antes do evento, o RBD também divulgou a música inédita, "Siempre He Estado Aquí".

Há especulações que o RBD pode se juntar novamente para realizar uma turnê presencial, passando em locais como o Brasil. Porém, algumas polêmicas envolvendo Christopher von Uckermann e seu posicionamento negacionista frente à pandemia do coronavírus atrapalharam os planos dos produtores.

Ao longo de sua carreira, o grupo lançou cinco álbuns completamente em espanhol - "Rebelde" (2004), "Nuestro Amor" (2005), "Celestial" (2006), "Empezar Desde Cero" (2007) e "Para Olvidarte de Mí" (2009) -, com milhões de vendas internacionais e certificados de platina e realizou diversas turnês pelo mundo. Um dos maiores shows da carreira do RBD foi no Maracanã, no Rio de Janeiro em outubro de 2006, que originou o DVD "Live in Rio", lançado no ano seguinte.

A banda mexicana acumulou diversas indicações importantes, como seis ao prêmio Billboard Latin Music Awards (com duas vitórias) e duas indicações ao Grammy Latino para "Melhor Álbum de Grupo ou Duo".

Vamos falar agora sobre algo que ainda deixa fãs de carteirinha, malucos. Sim, estou falando sobre RBD, que marcou uma galera dos anos 2000 e ainda traz nostalgia para quem ouve.

Em 2021 foi divulgado uma turnê para o Brasil, seria um reencontro, muita nostalgia e coisas assim, porém por conta da pandemia, precisou ser cancelado. Esse ano de 2023 o sonho voltou a ser possibilidade e a chama voltou a reascender no coração dos fãs.

Tenho amigas que estavam falando desse Show desde das férias de julho, correndo e comprando ingressos, foi uma loucura, quando foi chegando perto da data, a correria foi maior ainda para procurar roupas e irem a caráter.

A divulgação foi muito boa, e assim como no filme da Barbie, algumas lojas abraçaram a ideia, porém, em minha opinião o que mais ajudou foi o fator emoção, nostalgia, fez com que tudo isso fosse possível, vemos a repercussão de vídeos de fãs cantando, pintando cabelo, fazendo maquiagem, usando roupas, isso tudo antes do show, durante muitas postagens do lugar, das pessoas. Após, ficamos com os vídeos deles, que marcam mais uma vez gerações.

Ponto positivo, eu diria que toda a forma de divulgação, pois conseguimos ver mais interação por parte dos artistas e tornando tudo recíproco. O fato de ter engajamento antes durtante e depois da turnê.

Ponto negativo em geral somente novas músicas no repertório, complica um pouco os fãs acompanharem.

RBD, O GRUPO QUE MARCOU UMA GERAÇÃO!

Quem Nunca ouviu Falar de RBD?

RBD é uma Banda mexicana que surgiu através de um Remake da Novela Rebelde em 4 de Outubro de 2004. O Grupo contém 6 integrantes sendo eles: Alfonso Herrera (Poncho), Anahi, Christian Chávez, Christopher (Ucker), Dulce Maria e Maite Perroni.

O grupo ficou em atividade do Ano 2004 até o ano de 2009 quando lançaram seu último álbum. Mesmo com o Fim da Banda que durante o período de atividade sempre esteve no auge, Hoje em dia o grupo continua em alta com fandom espalhados por todo o mundo e marcando gerações.

Muitos acham que Rebelde é a versão original, talvez por ter sido a edição que mais fez sucesso, mas na verdade O original se chama 'Rebelde Way' criado na Argentina por Cris Morena.

O RBD foi um Fenômeno no Mundo todo, principalmente no Brasil onde fizeram uma Turnê especial, passando por 12 Estados e se tornando o maior artista internacional a fazer mais shows no Brasil.

Durante sua Jornada de 4 anos como banda, RBD lançou 9 álbuns de Estúdio sendo: 3 em Português e 1 em Inglês, também lançaram 3 DVDs no Brasil, 1 em Hollywood, 1 em Madrid e 1 no México. Tinham 23 singles, 12 clipes e 4 turnês oficiais pelo mundo.

Eles venderam mais de 30 milhões de Discos e Possuem 11 certificados de Diamantes, 82 de Platina e 81 de Ouro. Eles foram indicados a mais de 100 prêmios e ganharam 60.

Em 15 de Agosto de 2008, o RBD anunciou que aquele ano seria o último da Banda. Passeatas foram organizadas por fãns do Mundo Todo para que o grupo continuasse, mas o grupo seguiu firme na decisão do término. Seu último show foi no dia, 21 de Dezembro de 2008, em Madrid, na Espanha. Mas, lançaram um último álbum no dia 10 de Março de 2009 como despedida oficial.

2021 Grants for Individuals & Collectives Recipients: Streams 1 and 2

Back in August of 2020, the Edmonton Arts Council announced a significant change to the way we fund artists and collectives. Focusing on fostering experimentation, supporting artists from Equity-seeking groups, and professional development and mentorship (addressing the Aims and Actions found in Connections & Exchanges: A Ten-Year Plan To Transform Arts & Heritage in Edmonton in Book 4, on page 8), we introduced Arts Grants for Individuals and Collectives. This re-vamped program is split into three streams, with different funding levels and application requirements, to help support a broader range of artistic exploration, development, and creation.

Stream 1 of the Arts Grants for Individuals and Collectives focuses on exploration and experimentation. This stream supports artists to work on current solo creation, experimentation or research activities. Grant amount were fixed at 5,000 to support subsistence while the artist takes the time to work.

We are excited to announce the 28 artists and projects that have been funded following the February deadline in the Exploration and Experimentation stream (stream 1). Congratulations!

Kyle Beal is expanding on his existing practice, experimenting with traditional mirroring techniques on glass, and working to incorporate colour into a charcoal-based drawing practice.

Stuart Beatch is developing a chamber opera based on the one-act play The 3 AM Subtext by Edmonton writer Matthew Stepanic.

Crandall Buffalo is researching and writing his first feature length script.

Semin (Jay) Chun plans to explore creating LGBTQIA+ centered virtual circus magic shows that focuses on general accessibility.

Sylvia Douglas is writing the second draft of a feature length screenplay.

Trevor Duffy plans to research and develop a pre-school puppet screenplay to teach children how to identify and express their feelings.

Cynthia Fuhrer is creating a series of portrait paintings responding to COVID-19, experimenting with realism and abstraction while incorporating multimedia.

Hannah Gelderman will explore ways to apply her graduate research on solutions-oriented climate art to her solo art practice.

Wendy Gervais is developing a series of visual art assemblages, inspired by improvisational-based dances.

Ryan Hemphill is creating a series of music boxes with hand-built ceramic vessels and will create the musical composition for these boxes.

Dana Holst will experiment with stone lithography.

Karen Klassen is exploring the technical challenges and the expressive possibilities of working with large-scale rock sculptures.

Jonathan Luckhurst is researching and developing ideas for participation in the Vancouver Biennale's Big Ideas and We Are Ocean projects.

Kelsey McMillan will distill written and recorded material into a collection of songs exploring vulnerability and emotional risk.

Susie Moloney plans to write a series of short stories in a new genre.

Hayley Moorhouse will write the second draft of the play Beatrice Again and Again.

Lyndal Osborne will research and create a large-scale installation inspired the occupants at Obed Lake, Alberta over 100 years ago.

Anahi Palomec is gathering traditional beadwork stories and methods under an established Albertian artist.

Christian Peres Gibaut will explore the idea of the dematerialization of mosaic.

Emily Rault is writing and refining songs for a future full-length recording.

Emily Riddle is researching a full-length historical novel examining the role of Indigenous women during the fur trade.

Sean Sedgwick plans to develop content for a future recording.

Angie Sotiropoulos is developing the interactive elements in an ongoing zine series.

Farren Timoteo will conduct the research, exploration, and experimentation of a new musical solo-play that explores the damaging impact of toxic masculinity in media entitled, Bad Boy.

Conor Wharton is investing time in songwriting and producing, as well as researching online marketing and branding.

Marlene Wurfel will experiment with joke-writing methodology to craft 500 jokes for middle-grade readers.

Laura Zhu is researching and experimenting with the dimensions of Chinese paper cutting.

Stream 2 of the Arts Grants for Individuals and Collectives focuses on skills and career development. This stream supports professional development and mentorship-based projects for artists and arts professionals. Projects may be solo or collective, and grants are available up to $10,000 based on actual or projected project expenses, including artist subsistence. In this round, eight artists were supported in this stream.

As a professional dancer experienced in ballet, contemporary, and Ukrainian dance, Audrey Boccara is embarking on a mentorship with mentors to learn aerial dance (specifically aerial hoop, known as lyra), and how to meld aerial dance and high-level ballet.

Hemali Boorada will engage with mentors in Indian classical dance.

Fatme Elkadry is embarking on an apprenticeship to gain a deep understanding of weaving theory and practice so she can learn to weave the Kaffiyah -- a traditional scarf that is an important symbol of Palestinian identity. This project is symbolic of Fatme’s elusive journey to recognize and reclaim her Palestinian identity and will take steps towards reviving cultural textile heritage.

Jonathan Kawchuk is engaging in mentorships with well-known sound engineers known primarily for their work in location sound, with the training carried out both online and physically distanced over the course of six months.

Wei Li will be participating in the Golden Artist Residency in New York.

Matthew O'Connor is looking to broaden his abilities as both a composer and sound designer for video games by learning Wwise software. Wwise communicates with video game engines on how to implement audio files into a game.

Cayley Thomas is pursuing a songwriting and audio engineering mentorship and self-directed residency.

Sheiny Satanove is working with mentor producer, arts leader and creative producer Owais Lightwala, for 24 sessions from May to July, 2021.

RBD faz show após 12 anos separados e emociona fãs brasileiros

Para aqueles que não se lembram, o RBD foi um grupo mexicano de muito sucesso, oriundo da novela Rebelde. Apesar de terem encerrado oficialmente as atividades em 2009, foi em 2008 que os seis integrantes fizeram seu último show. Pouco mais de 12 anos depois, os atores e cantores se reencontraram novamente, deixando os fãs eufóricos.

No entanto, vale citar que o sexteto não estava completo: Alfonso Herrera e Dulce Maria fizeram suas alegações e não participaram da ação. Anahí, Maite Perroni, Christian Chávez e Christopher Von Uckermann comandaram a live, que na verdade foi um evento pago, custando R$ 180,86.

O show virtual foi chamado de Ser O Parecer, nome de uma música do terceiro álbum do RBD, Celestial. Mesmo não sendo acessível a todos, a hashtag oficial e inúmeros outros termos foram parar na lista de assuntos mais comentados no Twitter, assim como a grande repercussão em outras redes sociais, com memes e trechos do espetáculo.

“Quem não sofreu ouvindo Sálvame viveu totalmente errado“, escreveu um twitteiro, citando uma das canções de maior sucesso da banda. “12 anos depois e essa live só confirmou o que eu já sabia: eu nunca superei RBD, meu coração continua sendo o sétimo RBD“, continuou mais uma apaixonada pelos mexicanos.

Animado com o que assistiu, um fã chegou a uma conclusão: “Agora eu oficialmente posso dizer que eu fui num show do RBD“. Outro foi bem sincero na confissão: “Quando RBD cantou No Pares e Sálvame eu chorei como uma cadelinha. Só deles passarem no telão os vídeos da Dulce e do Poncho… Cara, choro só de lembrar“.
