the twins turned one today and will now be toddlers. so excited to see what comes next for them.

a christmas card from the west family.

the wests (well more like just yumi) sent out christmas cards to their friends and family— and pretty much everyone they know.

dylan thinks (in the words of mary jane healy) “christmas cards are for assholes,” but yumi insisted they send them out this year so the world can see their “perfect” family.

yumi is happy, she works full time as a ballet dancer, 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. this keeps her pretty busy and leaves dylan at home to take care of the twins most of the time. his dream of being a director has been crushed since becoming a full time stay-at-home dad while working as a barista to bring more income into the family. he is silently struggling mentally, he is unhappy. yumi of course left all of this information out of the card and will continue to pretend they are the happiest family in new york city.

yumi’s parents, dylan’s parents, dylan and the twins went out tonight to see the nutcracker ballet to support their favorite ballerina, yumi. the nutcracker is yumi’s favorite christmas tradition and this year she gets to have her children experience it for the first time and she hopes they love it as much as she does.

luna and her class mate , brantley celebrate because they both made the cast list for “into the woods” brantley was hesitant to do a musical but the director needed more men in theatre and offered him extra credit in the english class she also teaches. luna is lowkey in her boy crazy era maybe she will spike up a showmance with brantley.

LUNA / STELLA freshman in high school era (15-16)

luna and stella have entered their freshman year in high school. this is the year of a lot of changes. luna is more outgoing and has a easier time making friends than stella so we will see how this year impacts them.

wanted to make them like opposite styles like luna preppy and stella kinda emo/alt

so nice to go from having no yard in the city to having the beach just down the road :) the twins are thriving here

LUNA / STELLA preteen era (12-14)

luna and stella are 12 now, they have begun to show their personalities more with their looks.

stella got some of her hair dyed pink for her birthday. she’s been really into an emo phase at the moment.

luna loves the girly girl basic aesthetic, she owns a stanley ofc and watches tiktok religiously

i’ve never played with preteens before but i wanted them to have that awkward middle school phase so i downloaded the mod.

a new chapter?

after a lot of thinking and researching yumi has made a big decision for her and her family. as a child yumi’s mother, jina was busy a lot as a popstar. jinas busy lifestyle made her and yumi’s relationship not as strong as she had wanted it to be.

yumi being in the new york ballet rehearses everyday a week, 8 hours a day. she doesn’t get to spend the time she wants to with her twins and her husband. being a ballerina in new york was her dream, she made it happen. but now with kids it’s a lot, she wants to be there for them like her mother wasn’t for her. she loves her mom, jina so much but that doesn’t erase the fact she wasn’t there for half her childhood. she doesn’t want that to be the memory of her kids have of her.

it’s time to get out of the big city hustle, maybe open her own dance studio. being a ballerina can be more than just fancy ballet companies. yumi always loved florida ever since she was a kid and went there for the first time. its basically summer everyday. it’s warm in every season, walks on the beach every night and more land to explore.

the twins are getting older everyday. it’s coming up on their 8th birthday soon.

luna is a sweet soul, loves to learn and play but stella on the other hand is more of an emotional toddler. they are twins and my look the same but have 2 very different personalities.

dylan had no luck, he caught a few seaweeds but that was it. he definitely got a little frustrated. dylan’s being getting frustrated easily lately since the move maybe the slow life is too easy for him.

LUNA // STELLA : CHILD EDITION (8-11 years old)

the twins have aged up!! they are about to start elementary school :) they are ready to be called by the wrong name all year long.

luna is so excited for school, real school. learning science and math, making friends. stella on the other hand is a nervous wreck, she would rather stay home. she’s always been the shy twin but their mother yumi is hoping going to elementary will help her branch out a little bit.
