i hate my voice so i can't do a podcast. i do not know how to make fan videos. i can barely gif, its so complicated so i do edits/artsy and sometimes i do that. play with my strengths (lack there of) i think i have a good idea.

with boycott the caf gone basically (humourous but true insight/peek into the past), broomheads is mostly about fashion aspects (which i like!) and trends of the 2000s and the djh/high persuasion too. maybe people can suggest topics to share opinions. i gotta do something/contribute to fandom bc the show has ended and there's so much to talk about. just an idea. just wanted to see if anyone was interested or it's something i could pursue.

i do make art, write stories. when i feel like it i do post a lot off opinion pieces, prose, the occasional lovefest but i can have neutral viewpoints, universal comparing contrasting, breaking down things, etc. but i never did like the whole review thing, combined with all this. i think it'd be cool. I'll tag people who are frequently in the degrassi tag in the tags or people who post a lot of degrassi even if we all don't have the same opinions, i think we can all have a bit of fun in our investment the franchise that arguably brought a lot of people together. having different opinions open up debates and such, or looking at things from different povs and perspectives. it could be a good thing with connections to be made. who knows? who is interested? if it flops this is dead. i don't want it to be but oh well.

a weird scene for me to love bc i have a breakdown every time i watch it but i just <333 hans saying “you’re not a little boy anymore charlie please stop acting this way” and that orion needs him to lead… i’ll cry!!!

4. d3 round-up

wasn’t sure what to call this, but when dwayne rounds up the ducks before their first practice in d3. every time i watch this i notice a new thing it’s just so cute and the first time we really see the ducks being the ducks altogether in the movie. i especially love the julieconnie crumbs (as it’s really the only scene we have of them lowkey??)

5. the ducks meeting bombay

the backing up when he reaches into his coat, jesse telling him this is a drug-free zone and to get out of his neighborhood, charlie’s sigh of relief when he realizes he doesn’t have a gun, the disastrous skating when he tells them to practice—my children fr <3

the duck roundup at the start of d2 - it's just so fun to see them all hang out with each other and it feels like a nice way to catch up with everyone again after the first film.

the ducks vs hawks final at the end of d1 - there's just something so satisfying about watching them win in the end. i mean, we always knew they would but it's heartwarming all the same.

street hockey d2 - again i just love seeing them have fun and really get their groove back after all the crap they'd had to deal with for most of the goodwill games after this point.

street hockey d3 - idk if this makes me a broken record or what but again, i love watching them just have fun with it and seeing charlie go back to the team he loves so much!

the entire last period in d3 - from portman coming back until the final moments where bombay looks back at the team celebrating with pride. again, it feels like a really good moment to end the series on such a high. just like with d1 this really felt like a perfect culmination of all the events in the movie, adam is back with the team, they've learned how to play two-way hockey from orion and it's really made them better as a team (closer even?), and their rivalry with varsity comes to the best conclusion, and it really closes the book on bombay re. the team and really hands everything over to charlie.

orion's confidence speech in d3. "it's not just about hockey. it's easy to be confident when you have control of the puck. it's very, very difficult to keep that confidence when you gotta take whatever strange bounces life throws your way. don't be careless, but don't be too careful either. you cannot be afraid to lose. that's how you gain the confidence to attack the game when the puck isn't yours. that's how you attack life even when you think you don't have any control." the older i get, the more i appreciate this quote (and orion). he didn't just teach them about hockey, he taught them about life. i try to tell myself "you cannot be afraid to lose" when shit gets tough. COACH ORION BEST COACH

when district 5 first meets bombay. like, you can not tell me there's a kid out there with a better intro than jesse fucking hall. "yo, dude. you're obviously in the wrong hood. this is my dominion. this is a drug-free zone, you understand? we ain't buying nothing. i'm feeling generous today, so i'm gonna let you get your sorry vanilla booty outta here before we be using your eyeballs as hockey pucks." it's iconic. it's the moment. i strive to have the kind of loyalty and confidence he displayed in that scene (even though he was clearly fronting. fake it till you make it amirite).

the entire d1 ending, from adam showing his loyalty to the ducks, to jesse's bigass "alright, cake-eater" grin, to tammy and tommy doing their thing, to fulton trying to murder mcgill, to charlie taking the shot as the team roots for him, and then the end with them sending bombay off. had the franchise ended here, i would've had 0 complaints! (even though i'm happy there's more, of course).

bombay's speech to charlie in d3. "i told him you were the real minnesota miracle man". this scene always gets me. i really appreciate that they acknowledge how much of an impact charlie (and the ducks) had on bombay, and that he only got his shit together because of them. (also, unpopular opinion time, but as bombay's #1 anti, i feel like game changers kind of cheapened this moment when they went back to the whole 'bombay is the minnesota miracle man!!' mindset and basically dedicated an entire episode to how amazing he is. especially considering charlie isn't on good terms with him anymore. i loved seeing the OG ducks but i really didn't like the execution of it lol.)

the campfire scene at the end of d2. i just love how wholesome it is. i wish there was a version without the credits!

First ever ship: idk i think i shipped justin x britney irl when i was like 10, no i don't really count that. i do count steve & dj from full house, harvey & sabrina from sabrina the teenage witch, & cory & topanga from boy meets world. not sure what my first ever was. I'm sure it was doug and patti mayonnaise as a kid i loved them and remember wanting them to eventually go on a date at their burger spot. semma was the first ship when i found out what shipping was, but i'd been shipping long before i knew what that was.
