Los Lobos Remember Pee-wee Herman with Archival “Friday Night Videos” Clip
- “Farewell, Amigo, you were a good soul,” Louie Pérez says
Whether one was “from” East L.A. or one was “from” Los Lobos, Pee-wee Herman was gonna charge them a buck to sit on Chairry. And pity the sucker who tricked him into saying the secret word.
Both of these things happened when David Hidalgo, Louie Pérez and Conrad Lozano - from Los Lobos - visited Herman on “Friday Night Videos” while promoting By the Light of the Moon.
Los Lobos unearthed the 1987 video to remember their “amigo” Herman, whose creator and alter ego, Paul Reubens, died this week.
And it turned out Herman wasn’t impressed by celebrity.
It’s an uproariously ridiculous segment that begins with the band fighting over Chairry and ends with Herman refusing to air the Wolves’ video. He was kidding, of course, and the band remembers the ordeal fondly.
“So much fun hanging with Pee-wee …,” Pérez said in a statement.
“Farewell, Amigo, you were a good soul. R.I.P.”

Los Lobos Celebrate 50 Years with Five-song Set at California’s KCRW
A half-century into their career, Los Lobos are still adding canonical numbers to their songbook.
The wistful, 1950s-rooted “Native Son” is the latest, the centerpiece of the group’s recent 25-minute set at California’s KCRW radio station. A paean to their Los Angeles roots, the (almost) title track from the Wolves’ 2021 LP finds songwriters Louie Pérez and David Hidalgo taking stock; looking back while moving forward.
I was a fool to run away/and forget where I’d come from/I think about the day you’ll take me back/I’m your native son, Hidalgo sings with sweet melancholia in his voice.
Opening with the semi-autobiographical “Will the Wolf Survive?” and wrapping with “La Bamba” -> “Good Lovin’” -> “La Bamba,” the band treated the small audience to a modern Lobos gig in miniature and recorded it for posterity. Truncation notwithstanding, Cesar Rosas still found time to beseech and thank music lovers as he led his bandmates through “Chucio’s Cumbia” and “Don’t Worry Baby,” spotlighting their respective south-of-the-border and south-of-Chicago sides.
Rosas also held the mic for “Love Special Delivery,” another Native Sons track that reinforced the continuing relevance of what on any given stage is potentially America’s greatest live band.

“LA LUNA ROSA”
Mientras nos deleitábamos observando la luna rosa desde Tafí del valle, degustando nuestro famoso queso tafinisto, recordábamos en una reunión de varios, la relación de este asombroso astro, la amistad y el amor. El cielo se prestaba fachendoso cubriéndonos bajo millones de esmeraldas luminosas que titilaban sin cesar. Las estrellas y constelaciones parecían estar al alcance de nuestras manos. Algunos recordaban que la Biblia enseñaba que la luna algún día se teñiría de sangre presagiando un gran evento que cambiaría la historia. Otros que miraban sin pestañear al gran satélite, gritaban exuberantes y a su vez nostalgiosos que el color era un fenómeno astronómico insólito y majestuoso pero que no lo podrían ver otra vez sino desde el más allá. Despreocupado de la versión apocalíptica, y meneando su cabeza, un aficionado a los platillos voladores aseveraba con confianza científica que el eclipse y transformación del astro estaba vinculado con el fenómeno ovni, afirmando que seres extraterrestres están pendientes de nosotros, dispuestos a ayudarnos. Que la influencia alienígena será una revelación de muchos misterios. Un aficionado al Tarot no perdía su oportunidad y la ocasión para interpretar el fenómeno como clave espiritual y simbólica con renovación hacia un nuevo mundo. El sacerdote amigo que se encontraba en el grupo enseñaba las palabras proféticas de la Biblia enseñando que los números, las formas, los colores, los animales tienen cada uno su significado teológico. Que cualquier señal hasta el rosa vivido de la luna debe ser mirada desde la fe, y no como un acontecimiento histórico o astronómico. Que el Apocalipsis que describe a la luna seguirá siendo para siempre un escrito extraordinario y mágico, como una inmensa liturgia, las de Jesús con la Iglesia, que es la humanidad salvada. Sin embargo, en el jeroglífico de la conversación bajo el silencio de la noche un acriollado en el lugar, consustanciado con sus esencias, partícipe de sus tradiciones nos decía que sus antepasados siempre recordaban a la luna como la constante y fiel amiga de la tierra. Amiga consecuente, invariable, perseverante y excelente ejemplo de amor y amistad. Una viejita que parecía distanciada del portento que nos deleitaba y que cebaba mate intervino para sujetar la expansión del entusiasmo del momento. No, dijo. La Luna no solamente es amor sino también amistad. Una característica inseparable del amor es la de ser productivo, la de fructificar. El amor, la amistad y el verdadero amor, dan frutos. Las otras relaciones pueden ser muy placenteras, muy gustosas, muy deleitables, pero no son amor, lo que se dice amor, verdadero amor. Todos los presentes asentimos. Es que mi novia la Luna cualquiera sea su color es la eterna enamorada de la Tierra, como lo muestra manteniéndose siempre en su entorno y mostrándole invariablemente la misma cara, como si estuviera embobada en su contemplación y deleitándose de su perpetua compañía. El valle, de mis antepasados nos deleitaba con otra noche multicolor en un arco iris de luminarias y cometas que nos hablaban a través del blanco clavel que Tata Dios derramo como alba de los ángeles para mostrar al mundo lo que es el Amor y la Amistad.

Beerloith Castle
Windenburg continues to be the richest kingdom in the world, and filled with the most royal strife. As King Kolt Seindu IV readies his son, Prince Kolt Seindu V, for the crown, his new First Queen Shino Kani has been dripping poison into the ears of both princes. She had been assuring her own son Prince Kolt "Cesar" Seindu V is more fit for the crown than the first born Prince Kolt Seindu V, to which the Crown Prince stepped down and gave his younger brother the right to ascend the throne.
King Kolt IV is heavily opposed to this and has been making countless announcements and proclamations that his first born son is to be King. It's caused many a fight between him and his wife, but the decision seems to have been made.

Windenburg Prep
As usual, the youth of Windenburg are sheltered and disillusioned, none more so than the Crown Prince Kolt Seindu V. Chronically depressed and suffering from anxiety, it didn't help that his stepmother, First Queen Shino Kani, was constantly putting him down and assuring him that he would never be a King. So he gave the Crown Prince title to his younger brother and his stepmother's son, the much more popular Cesar, to the disappointment of his father.
The rest of the students look foreword to an affluent life of fame and luxury. However, the shy Princess Azaria, the test subject science baby of her generation, is looking to leave home for a much better life, where she can come out of her shell and help the world around her.

The less privileged academy on Windenburg's mainland has been thriving as its students reach out to the rest of the world and become caring and productive members of society. Many of which are ready to move into royal roles to be of service to their kingdom.

Windenburg Life
Life in Windenburg continues to be carefree and luxurious. Some more priviledged members of the royal family came to retire here. Princess Yve Seindu and her husband Prince-conjoin Hideki Kiraseindu, just adopted a gal who needed some extra love into their family. Elphina is truly gracious, and now with complete freedom at her fingertips, she's not sure where to get started.
Meanwhile, Windenburg has an official Court Wizard. Candance Xesuvixes has been loyal to the family for years, and promises to protect the court at all costs. All while taking care of widowed and widower family members and their orphans in her estate.

Glimmerbrook (The WhiteTree Coven)
The High Witch
A new era has come to Glimmerbrook, as unicorns were rediscovered deep in the woods by the famous White Tree. Joining the newfound love of equestrian sports is another bonus, along with unicorn's famous healing abilities, the chronically injured are being sent to Glimmerbrook for instant treatment.
And power has exchanged hands as Witch Samaria WhiteTree defeated her mother in the traditional magic duel on the first round, making her the fastest ascending High Witch in the coven's history. There is lots of hope that the coven will flourish from here on out.

This generation's alumni are very promising, looking to be powerful, productive members of the Coven. There was even a change of headmaster, as the brilliant Genevieve Grimoricus (formerly a Kiraseindu) has taken the role and become very proactive in the lives of her students. The popular opinion around Glimmerbrook was for Genevieve to be the next High Witch, which Genevieve has heavily denied a want for.

Glimmerbrook Life
While the life of a Witch is busy and glamourous, the life of the male Keepers is quiet and overlooked. Many work behind the scenes to not just keep the Witch's safe but to keep Glimmerbrook safe and prosperous as well. And those who are not magical at all are completely ignored. Lady Freya Bongrin was the romantic partner of Samara WhiteTree, or so she thought. Once a suitable heiress was born through science, Freya and their other non-magical children were cast from the home completely. Freya sought comfort in her good friend, Urius Braie, and their actual romance blossomed.
And those not part of the family have their own drama occurring. Witch Imari Xesuvixes finally made her move after all these years, declaring all royalty on Earth evil and unnecessary, pointing out all their misdeeds and hypocrisy over the years. This has not made her popular in the Coven, and has also pushed her own remaining children away from her. In fact, her loyal son Alistair had finally fallen for another and was looking to leave.
The coven had also passed a rule this generation, seeing as an outsider became a Court Wizard: anyone looking to be a magical aid to royalty outside the coven would be excommunicated. This has been extremely controversial, as many coven members consider themselves closer than family. Some had to make the extremely hard decision to leave their actual families behind to stay in the coven, such as Keeper Inushan Kani.

Moonwood Mill Life
Moonwood Mill enjoys its independence from other countries, as the population can protect themselves. Having at least one King as a local hero didn't hurt. But the youth growing up here have a lot of decisions to make. If they should start their own lives together here in Moonwood, or venture out in the world to seek their fortunes.

Como as instituições brasileiras estão a serviço de uma política nefasta que não respeita o cidadão nos seus direitos básicos de defesa, jogando numa vala comum marginais, corruptos, ladrões e cidadãos de bem?
Quanto vale a honra de um homem?
Quanto vale seu caráter?
Quanto vale seu esforço em alcançar os maiores e melhores cargos, tendo como base a meritocracia?
Quanto vale uma carreira profissional seguida por uma ética e moral ilibada?
Quanto vale ser um cidadão ou ter a cidadania brasileira?
Quanto vale ter mandatários eleitos pela incompetência do eleitor em não saber definir entre um ladrão e corrupto de um cidadão de bem?
Quanto vale uma mentalidade tacanha daqueles que dizem ou declaram para todos ouvirem: " Ele rouba, mas faz!"
Pois bem, como uma metralhadora AK 47 solto balas em forma de perguntas e proponho o seguinte: todos são culpados, desde que comprovem sua inocência!
Pode a PF atirar no cidadão e depois perguntar se ele é culpado ou inocente!
Pode o Ministro da Justiça e toda Justiça defender o marginal que mata, estupra, rouba, quando o próprio código de ética dos : PCC e CV determinam a morte por exemplo para quem trai, rouba e estupra!
Pode um governo ser governado por um " descondenado" !
Pode! Pode tudo! Pode pois é uma governabilidade baseado na indicação política, no fisiologismo, no clientelismo, no nepotismo, onde juízes podem julgar sobre assuntos que comprovadamente tem conflito de interesses,onde as suas mulheres advogam para o grupo que será julgado por ele mesmo!
Que moral! Que ética!

Agora que te tornamos inelegível, mané, só temos um medo: que o Brasil descubra que só tinha você, e que o ditador era um democrata, e que o covarde foi o mais corajoso, e que o genocida foi aquele que mais salvou vidas, e que nunca houve ninguém mais bem-intencionado que você, mané.
E, ao descobrir isso, temos medo de que eles te peçam perdão, e juntem os teus cacos, e te façam, mesmo inelegível, terminar a tua missão. Se isso acontecer, e te tornares um líder maior do que já eras, e conduzires este povo para a segunda revolução, então, saberemos que, atrás de ti, há uma força maior do que a nossa, algo divino, algo que não podemos controlar, algo que faz de um simples mortal um mito. Aí quem perderá seremos nós, os manés.
