A lovely commission my friend @arabriddler did for me. It features my version of Edward Nygma (Catieverse) and my best friend @lunar-scapes DC OC Donnie (who I've integrated into my verse) This is after Edward and Donnie retire to the little snow town away from Gotham City Edward took over in his early years. They live in a cabin secluded from the town, but close enough that they can drive in for dates and the necessities. That being said when Edward retires from being The Riddler he doesn't retire from working in general. He uses his typical alias of Dr. Percy Newsome and teaches at the local university in his town. I like to think this photo is Edward coming home from work with Donnie there to greet him. They are very happy with how their lives have ended up. Answer visits frequently with her wife, Juniper Isley, and their little daughter Saffron who Donnie and Edward spoil endlessly.

"Lady Luck?" Edward purred, bringing the poker chip up to Donnie's striking red lips. He purposely chose a black one for this exact purpose.

Donnie understood her reason for being there. She let her lips press against the chip warmed by Edward's fingers. When she pulled away she smiled at the bright red mark against the chips sheen.

Echo collided with the concrete wall of the parking garage as Query shoved her into it. "The fuck was that!?" "You know I'm not trained for this! I'm trying my best!" "Your 'best' almost got us fucking killed!!"

"Ladies-" Edward brushed off his suit jacket as he entered the garage.

"No! She is a hazard! You hired a child! A child to replace Rhi-"

A sickening crack was heard as Edward slapped Deidre. "Don't speak to me in that tone."

Some history about them.

Query is the blonde. She’s gruff. She’s a club bouncer and has been a hench for Edward the longest she has I believe like 5-6 years on Echo maybe. She does not like Echo.

Echo is a coding prodigy that Edward picked up when he saw she hacked and blocked his surveillance system from the Wayne Tech system. She gets recruited to join at 19 less than a year after the original Echo “died”

That’s one of the main reasons Query hates Echo. She believes that Edward moved on too soon and this scrawny college kid is not a good fit to be a riddler hench. This scene would be right after Echo’s very first mission since joining. Batman showed up earlier than expected and Query took out her anger on Echo. Query got slapped and a pay cut for that by Edward.

If Edward Nygma closed his eyes, he was a normal father dropping his daughter off for her first day of Kindergarten

CatieVerse Post (yes I reblogged Cato's picture of this shhhhh) Edward adores Christmas. It's one of his favorite holidays. He traditionally takes all of December off to spend time with his daughter, Answer. He also knits their Christmas sweaters for their annual Christmas photo. He started knitting in Arkham Asylum and he's made hats, gloves, socks, sweaters, etc. He tends to stress knit which leads to Answer finding a random assortment of socks and scarves in her dad's office if he's planning a heist.

So I think I’m finally gonna start talking about the CatieVerse on here (even if no one interacts to just organize my thoughts more)

He’s 5’10 with ginger slightly curly/wavy hair with striking green eyes. He was a bartender at his university. He’s a manipulator but won’t let you know you’re being manipulated. (You’ll get more Ed facts later)

Oh and you’ll meet his adopted daughter Answer later.

Day 4: Forgotten (CatieVerse)

(I know I'm late just shhhhhhh let me actually post my stuff!!)

Day 4:Forgotten (What happened to the original Echo?)

When Echo developed a sense of consciousness, she had felt herself tied to a chair in a dimly lit room in some kind of shop. It smelled of lavender and earl gray tea and books. The room was filled with an array of old books. Her brows furrowed as she craned her neck to observe her surroundings. By all accounts she should be dead. The tumble she took off the bank should’ve killed her. How was she alive? She couldn’t recall how exactly she ended up in her current situation. Was it all a bad dream? If so, where were Query and Edward?

“What a glorious day, wouldn’t you say? My dear Echo, though you no longer have that name.” 

Jervis Tetch waltzed into the room tinkering with a mask of some sort. He held a small screwdriver, loosening the paneling on the mask.

Echo frowned, “What are you on about Tetch?”

The Hatter smirked when he saw her confusion, “Oh you don’t know? He has a new Echo. He left you, you see. And now you’re stuck with me!” He giggled at the end as Echo pulled against her restraints. 

Edward couldn’t have abandoned her. She was his Echo. He needed her for missions. He had to be looking for her, especially since she survived her fall. 

Jervis dropped his rhyming. His tone dropped to a serious and menacing, almost taunting one “You’re mine, my dear. To test on as I please. He’s abandoned you. Thinks The Spoiler killed you, so he replaced you. Even Query’s forgotten you. It's as if you never existed in the first place.”

Echo’s breath caught in her chest as the binds tightened around her. The reality and gravity of the situation finally set in. She was trapped. Everything she worked for was gone in an instant. How many years had it truly been if Edward and Query completely wiped her existence from the map.

“You haven’t been tied to that chair the entire time, I just had to adjust your darling mask. You were becoming lucid and we can’t have that now, can we.” Jervis flipped up the panel to reattach some loose wiring. 

“How long?” Echo croaked out. The moisture in her throat was gone with the news. She didn’t die. That fall didn’t kill her. It should’ve killed her. 

“Oh, um… let me think,” Jervis hummed, rolling a loose wire between his fingers. He snapped his fingers in recognition, “Oh! Just a measly thirteen years. That’s nothing!”

Echo gasped. Thirteen years. That’s over a decade of her life gone. Her twenties were long gone. Her career and life was over. There was no way she was getting out of this. She was still too discombobulated. 

“Now, now, Miss Echo. Don’t get all fussy on me. Tears mess up the mechanisms in your mask and we can’t have that,” Jervis tutted, closing the paneling of her mask, screwing it tightly shut.

Echo didn’t notice she was crying until Jervis pulled out a handkerchief to wipe the salty tears flowing from her ducts. It wasn’t exactly the cleanest, reeking of moto oil and dry, crusted blood. She scrunched her nose.

“There we go. We’re all better. Now! Take a deep breath. It’s sleepy time. I need to make sure you’re ready to go when I need you to hunt down the girl.” 

The mask slipped back onto Echo’s face, muffling her cries for help.

My first official chaptered fic!! The first chapter has been released!! I’m very proud of it 

So I may have a problem spending money and commissioned the wonderful @arabriddler once again (and this won't be the last I assure you) This one is of my babies Answer and her girlfriend, Juniper Isley. Both Edward and Pamela don’t really know how to feel about their children dating but that hasn’t stopped June or Answer. Some about Juniper. She is a plant/human hybrid made of some of Pamela’s skin cells and some plant DNA. Pam was experimenting with this because she and Harley really wanted to have a baby together. June functions pretty much like a plant but with human features. She could die if she gets sick/wilts so she has a heating lamp she lays under. Her hair is a dark brown when in the shade while in the sun it’s a coppery red. She’s 17 when she asks Answer to be her girlfriend. She can also travel through Juniper bushes to different locations (which is why she gives Answer a juniper bush to leave in her room). Juniper bush DNA is a big reason Juniper is juniper. There will be more to come of Juniper, Answer, and the rest of their friend group once I survive long enough in college to sit down and finish writing their stories

I'm on a roll with CatieVerse posts! Here's one I'm really proud of (I know I say that about all of them). I've been having alot of fun writing Edward with a younger Answer, around the time he adopted her, when he's still trying to get used to being a father.

Hello lovely people who have for some reason decided to follow me. I hope you're having a wonderful December. I'm coming on here very quickly to just give an update. Mental Health has been on a decline for a minute now, which always calls for a hiatus and purge! This blog from now until I decide to ever come back, is inactive. I am available on tiktok and instagram (and Ao3 if y'all actually care about the Catieverse) under the same name. I will be there. Tumblr has served its purpose for me and it's time for me to leave. I appreciate all of your support and the laughs. I just cannot with this website anymore.
