For Colress: I know there are some well-known traditions of giving a Pokémon to someone you love (Applin in Galar, Luvdisc in other regions, etc)...but those are romantic gestures! So I've been wondering, what would you give to Pyre? Would it even be a Pokémon or would it be something else? 👀

Ah, hello! Always nice to meet new trainers. Perhaps you'll have a battle with me later? It would greatly help further my research!

Regarding your question, I've gifted Pyre a pokemon before! It was a rather interesting specimen of a Litwick. I believe the coined term for it would be 'shiny' if I'm not mistaken. It's now a very strong Chandelure whom she's named Carousel. She has an affinity for ghost types, you see. Someone very close to her assisted me in catching it.

Such a shame there aren't more platonic guestures for trainers out there. However! Who's to say they can't be invented? Building bonds with pokemon is important, but I've also found that building bonds between friends is important as well... Do you find this to be true also? I'd love to hear your input.

Under the cut cause I. Certainly can ramble.

1. What's their preferred method of showing affection? (I.e., are they generally hugy/touch-starved? Do they like to give gifts? Ect.)

He gives very awkward hugs, but I still appreciate them nonetheless! See, I don't think hes very used to receiving affection at all. Lots of people only see him as the "emotionless smart guy" (hm! Sounds like a familiar aro stereotype!) but that's just simply not the case! There's a lot of small affections he likes to give if you pay attention...

He does little things. Small things that would be seen as silly or insignificant to anyone else, perhaps.

Like...he pays attention to the things I'm interested in and tries to find me items to help me research them more efficiently. He was actually the one who gave me my mega stone, you know! It's my treasure.

And! He's a very good listener. When he gives input on a topic, that's another way hes saying he cares. And I like listening to him too. It's always so fun chatting about things we both want to look into!

Ah, so tldr; He doesn't really know how to handle things like hugs, he's never initiated one, but he does return them the best he can. He shows affection with words and thoughtful gifts!

Hes made me cry with genuine heartfelt compliments before and always apologizes even though I try to tell him it's alright and explain that they're good tears

5. Do you have friendship bracelets?

Hm. I wonder.

That would be a cute idea... Though, I have given him some sort of thing that he can wear regarding friendship...

6. Who's more likely to bring home a pet poke*on impulsively?

Oh dear, good question! With me, I'd bring in poké pals if they seemed lost or looked lonely (I cant help myself)

But with our dear morally-grey scientist here, he'd bring in any that piqued his interest for whatever reason.

I guess...both...that's a lot of friends!

7. Do they like the rain? Does that opinion change depending on whether or not you're around?

I think he likes the rain! But he'd refuse to be out in it without some kind of machine he's built to keep himself dry. An umbrella, you say? Oh no, he's gonna invent a machine that creates a little force field above his head because hes extra. And I just think that's neat ♡

I think...maybe...if he saw how happy the rain made me he might like it just a liiiiittle better while I'm around.

Maybe I could pull him into one of the puddles to splash around with me and Gengy-

18. What type of music do they enjoy?

OK this is something I wonder about a lot. Personally? I think he'd appreciate lo-fi. Good for focus, he'd say. I'm listening to some right now because its calming too...and maybe reminds me of him...and chilling out in his lab...just a little...

If his battle theme is anything to go off of though, I'd say anything with lots of synth is a good bet. He probably likes things that sound unnatural but somehow still come together to create music. Yeah. That sounds about right!

I've shown him some of my taste in music and lemme tell ya. Seeing him listen to metal while calmly sipping coffee with a kind smile on his face is an experience. I couldn't help but laugh a little BSBWJDHF

One time he told me he'd love to look into my playlists because the contents would say a lot about me. What an interesting thing to say, like, I've never thought of it that way before...
