A Day in Etranger

As I watched Seigi move gracefully around the shop, his brown hair catching the light, I couldn't help but admire him. His earnestness, his gentle demeanor—it drew me in like a moth to a flame. Today, however, his usual grace seemed marred by a mishap. With a gasp, I saw the delicate china teapot slip from his hands, shattering on the floor.

"Seigi!" I rushed to his side, concern etched across my features. "Are you hurt?"

He winced, a tiny cut marring his hand. My heart clenched with worry. Tenderly, I tended to his wound, his puppy eyes meeting mine with gratitude. In that moment, I realized how deeply I cared for him—a sweetness far surpassing any pudding.

Friendly reminder that the Jeweler Richard manga (and assumedly the og light novel) regularly talk about aesthetic attraction in all but words + in general are much more verbally queer then the anime :)

rereading JR novels again cause they're so nice and cozy

Seigi is one of my favorite protagonists cause the guy is so relatable the true king of embarrassing himself, stressing out and constantly experiencing some degree of bi-panic he's a disaster, he knows it and it never stops him from doing what he plans to (not that his plans are good, but still, the determination is admirable)

i read the first two jeweler richard novels in english recently and this is all i could think about

Clumsy Clasp

A text. Something that might happen.... (borne from my idle musings)

In the quaint elegance of Etranger, Seigi, with his gentle demeanor, attempts to help a customer with a delicate necklace. But alas, a mishap unfolds as the clasp breaks, sending the necklace tumbling to the floor.

Amidst the slight chaos, Richard, the poster child for composure (not!), steps in with a reassuring smile. Together, they assure the customer, swiftly offering to mend the necklace with care. As they work side by side, laughter fills the air, transforming the mishap into a heartwarming moment of camaraderie.

(Their bond deepens amidst the shared warmth, proving that even in mishaps, the sweetest connections endure.)

Finally trying the Sangaria Royal Milk Tea

Bought a can of the stuff a few days ago at the international market, while I was looking for nopales and mole sauce. I fell in love with royal milk tea after hearing about it from the anime adaptation of The Case Files of Jeweler Richard.

Me being a bit of a tea aficionado I knew I had to try making it myself. I looked up a recipe online (I’ll post them both at the end) and I fell in love with this malty semi-sweet method of brewing black tea.

However, I think I may be more inclined to brewing royal milk tea for myself in the future. Despide the effort and time to make royal milk tea, you just can’t replicate the flavor of freshly brewed tea in a can. I’m still glad I got to try this pretty iconic tea.

Here are two recipes I recommend to try brewing royal milk tea yourself

I'm so mad that jeweler richard did "rich aloof foreigner x dumb plain college student" AND DID THEM RIGHT GAVE THOSE TROPES DEPTH AND THE ANIME COMPLETELY FUCKED IT UP.

Richard isn't really aloof at all at least not in personality. He is mysterious but that's cuz he has things to hide its not a part of his PERSONALITY. Richard is silly, he wants to eat sweets like all the time, he listens to loud foreign music in his car when he's angry and he's gay. He acts aloof to be sarcastic towards ppl who view him as otherworldly due to his beauty and he's aware of its effects on people. In the anime they sucked all that out out and now he's just aloof and mysterious. It's probably the reason ppl didn't realize he's canon gay is he acts like a mentor a beautiful mysterious information giver towards seigi someone for him to interact with and not a half of a duo. And don't even get me started on seigi because he's so boring they play his character so straight(figuratively and literally) in the anime when he theres very real reasons he is the way he is and and more to him than meets the eye just like richard.

My pitch is: watch the anime if you want but if you're going to also read the manga or the LN
