Could you do Twilight Sparkle from MLP:FiM?
Gladly! (Warning: I don't really watch this show, I just like Discord and read fanfictions. I'll do my best.)
I'm gonna take this time to shoutout relatedwords.io, it's been helpful when making names.
So, Twilight Sparkle has the name of "Eveningrise". Twilight didn't feel right, and "rise" references the prophecy of the six hooves, found in the page for Hope's Star.
Eveningrise got her name right before what would be the first episode, giving her a bit of an (over) confidence boost.
I'm calling Equestria....the Federacy of Felinaian Clans. (You have no idea how badly I wanted to call it the Confederacy or a Cartel. It would be really really bad....but really really really funny). I think that Ponyville is called DredgeClan. It sounds very right.
This one is pretty short, substitute the ponies for cats, give them magic and new names, and MLP:FiM is a more child appropriate warrior cats au!
The unicorns, pegasi, and earth ponies are all based off of lines in the subfamily Felinae! Unicorns are based off the Puma lineage, pegasi are based off of the lynx lineage, and earth ponies are based off of the ocelot and caracal lineages!
Thank you for the request, kind anon! If you would like to see more of my writing, weather it be elaboration on the story elements or another character, do send an ask to my inbox again!
Byeeeee!

Sketches of Sela, Faye, and Luna! Luna came out looking like a caracal. Dunno how that happened. I like how Faye turned out, though! She has mixed traits, as appropriate to her Swellow and Braviary lineage. And a full body pic of Sela (finally)!

Why do caracals have eyes like big cats?
Tumblr media
Its relative the serval doesn’t.
Tumblr media
Also: domestic cats and servals can hybridize (to make savannah cats) when they’re that far apart on the cladogram?!...okay I guess that makes sense if they conserved enough of the same ancestral features to be compatible compared to other lineages.

The Tribe of Panthera
So. A while back, I played around with an idea for an art project that kinda got shelved because it never really went anywhere. I recently stumbled across the files I had with some brainstorming on the subject so I thought I might dust it off again.
Basically, the original idea was to draw a bunch of fantasy races if they’d used various members of the family felidae as a base rather than just going with variants on the ‘pointy-eared humanoid’ formula. I also want to experiment with the idea of elven/sylvan/fey/whatever characters not just being smug tree-huggers or smug isolationist warrior monks or smug would-be word conquerers. ... Some of them are all three!
Have some lore.
Story
The tribes of the Grasslanders, Mountainfolk and those who now call themselves the Forest People were once inseparable allies until an entity known as Tsa’Hara sought to shatter their trust. The Forest People were dealt a disastrous blow, and those that survived found themselves compelled to ally themselves with spirits calling themselves River and, well, Forest (while the Mountainfolk are aligned with Crag and the Grasslanders with Sky.) These spirits were the enemy of Tsa’Hara, but weren’t interested in facing it out of the goodness of their hearts. In exchange for their reverence, the entities sheltered the Forest People. The Grasslanders, driven by the destruction Tsa’hara had wreaked upon them, tried to settle in this new green bounty but were repelled by their old allies… And only very narrowly- the Forest People made up for their lack of numbers with stealth and individual strength.
And now Tsa’Hara has turned its eyes upon the Grasslanders as it did the Forest People, starting with the displacement of the lead’s tribe.
Characters
The Grasslanders: the semi-nomadic tribes follow game across the savannah and lead herds of grazing animals behind them.
Caracal/three guesses what she’s derived from: based on a wood elf because have you seen caracal ears? They’re basically elf cats. Unlike most Grasslanders, Caracal is a solitary creature and looked at as... Kind of odd, to put it gently.
Jubatus/cheetah: based on a high elf. Despite her rather intimidating height, the lanky scout is as jumpy as they come and is easily spooked... But far from a coward. She was the first modern Grasslander to learn of Tsa’haran activity within the territory.
Leo/no surprise what he’s based on: based on an orc. Despite the whole ‘king of the jungle’ vibe given off by male lions, Leo is actually quite a social creature. He’s especially eager to settle down with a spouse (or spouses, he isn’t too fussed) and raise a family.
The Forest People: far more solitary than the urban Mountainfolk or the social Grasslanders, easily the stealthiest and most dangerous of the three.
Onca/jaguar: based on a dark elf and, specifically, a black jaguar. His ashen complexion is regarded as a sign of good luck and a mark of destiny (though it does tend to make his ritual tattoos harder to make out than those of his peers.) He masks his massive insecurities about such high expectations under an even bigger ego.
Pardus/leopard: based on a high elf. Unlike most Forest People, Pardus is a little obsessed with his image and has aspirations toward an easy life in a Mountainfolk city.
Tigris/tiger: based on an orc and, specifically, a white Bengal tiger. As if her unhealthy pallor and unnaturally blue eyes weren’t a bad enough omen, but Tigris is also partially deaf. Due to her disadvantages, she quickly learned that she could only rely on herself- probably the only reason she’s survived to adulthood at all.
The Mountainfolk: unsurprisingly, mountain- and cave-dwelling while being the only group of the three to establish permanent cities rather than scattered settlements.
Concolor/mountain lion: based on an orc, easily the most... Uh... Snarly of the Mountainfolk, but Lynx pays well so he only gets that way at the people he points at.
Lynx/yeah, it doesn’t take a genius: based on a dwarf. Despite being the most metropolitan of the core cast, he still pays Concolor to follow him around. You never know when you need someone at your back. Just don’t call him ‘Bob’ and you’ll get along just fine~
Uncia/snow leopard: based on a high elf. As the oldest central cast member in a fantasy story, one knows not to underestimate the elderly woman. Considering the old lady is part of a circle of warrior monks, it’s almost to be expected that she’d play the part of a mentor.
Additional Lore
It is uncertain if Tsa’hara is the same type of entity as Crag, Forest, River or Sky- a god, a demon, or something else entirely. Those who study them maintain that the four favored spirits are the manifestations of the natural world.
The majority of the cast believe in a heroic god-king from before the three tribes split named Panthera, who was the first to fight with Tsa’hara before she was killed in an effort to protect her people.
Another trait the three groups have in common is the practice of acknowledging adulthood with the application of tattoos. They are usually subtle facial markings resembling those of real big cats (tiger stripes, leonine eye and lip markings, etc.) with a continued pattern on the arms, legs and occasionally back.
All Grasslander warriors (there are no gender barriers when it comes to protecting your tribe) keep their heads and faces shaven during wartime so as not to give their enemies something else to grab onto. Long hair of any sort is a sign of peace and celebration. New fathers tend to grow out their facial hair and newlywed couples will style their hair elaborately, with each spouse braiding the other’s locks as part of preparation for the ceremony.
Despite the lion’s ‘king of the jungle’ image, Grasslanders are fairly egalitarian with a slight matriarchal lean. Women tend to be the hunters while men raise both children and livestock, but ferocity in protecting one’s family unit above all else is expected from all members. Lineage is traced from the mother, and the tribe is led by one man and a number of women (though it isn’t unheard of for the male leader to take male spouses as well.)

And here's the last species to be introduced: the serval. I brought you a video about the ritualistic "fight" of servals which helps to decide the dominance between them bloodlessly.

(The dance itself is in the last minute, but if you have time, i recommend to watch all of it, it's very interesting and funny, and there are even caracals at the beginning, too.)

The last lineage finally entered the ring with two reddish colored cats (although the african golden cat also has a grey color morph). Among them the caracals are significantly more common and well known, their presence in some ancient and medieval empires (especially in Egypt and India) is well documented. Caracals often hunt birds with impressive leaps up into the air, and for this talent of theirs they were historically used for coursing.
