Staring, there’s a long silence and Tilly tried to make sense of what it was she was looking at. Pupils the size of dish plates was the first glaring sign that something was wrong, and yet Tilly felt a strange sense of relaxation wash over her, mixed with something that felt oddly akin to euphoria. So much so, a small giggle left her, head slowly tilted to the side as she followed something invisible in the air. 

“Heh. I can see sounds.”

Really, that might have been the worst thing she could say at the moment, because what was more reassuring on an away mission than the best science officer being out of commission when things were going wrong. 

At least Tilly wasn’t panicking, far from it, “your face looks like a sea creature…”

" I've secured a place to hide, captain, " she affirmed, a whisper both rife with raging impudence and cold, bone - deep fear. While the crackle of her comms barely pierced the dense noiselessness, it was still enough to threaten to run her blood cold. " Captain Batel, do you read me? "

i made the mistake of trusting you once.

Her words stirred something within him and he put his hands behind his back. "I do not understand." It was ... confusing; he knew who she was and that Chris trusted her implicitly.

Captain Pike was like a father to him and having someone his adopted father confided in saying those words? It hurt his feelings. "I must admit, I do not know what I did to cause such a reaction."

Currently Reading: I've been struggling a bit with reading this year (nothing is really grabbing me?), but I've just started Witch King by Martha Wells, and I'm also working my way through a gorgeous reprint of Ursula Vernon's Digger.

Currently Watching: finally started Veep (I'm always on trend), a very silly Christian Kane vehicle called Almost Paradise, and - though possibly not for much longer - SNW.

Current Obsession: hmmm. I find myself in between obsessions currently, though anything involving Jason Isaacs is still a reasonably safe bet.

"Stop it," She frowned. "I"m excited. Aren't you? It's our very first posting!"

"Mom could have gotten you the Enterprise if you wanted," Mica pointed out. "And tuck your hair in. I see flyaways."

"First off, the Cayuga is very respectable. One of the premier science vessels in the fleet. Second, I will not be one of those legacy kids who has their parent arrange their future. I will earn a spot captaining the Enterprise and I will earn it on my own merit. Let's go before we're late.

There were times when it jsut wasn't worth it to argue with his twin. The two made their way to the transporter, Tannis barely able to keep herself still enough to be sent to the ship. "Captain Batel," she greeted brightly. "Ensigns Tannis and Mica Winters presenting for duty."
