#it really does seem like every season they're like#okay which of liz's buttons can we press next?#penn badgley with a baby? check.#victoria pedretti evolving into a milf? check.#asks#anon#okay so here's the thing#I am of two minds about this show#one mind is this: it is a very sophisticated work of comedy#in that you are watching through the pov of a character who thinks he is the star of the romantic comedy of his own life#when really#he's the villain in a slasher flick#and the show takes care to show that people (as a whole)#do not care so much for the truth but who is telling it to them#bc the people who see joe for who he is and try to speak it - people find reasons to disbelieve them#peach: closeted queer woman with severe mental health issues#candace: battered ex-girlfriend who is recovering from trauma#delilah: SA survivor and Latina and serving as primary guardian of her younger sister Ellie who: is also Latina and a child#and Forty: an SA survivor and recovering addict who's constantly relapsing and has a history of dangerous and erratic behavior#it is so so so so smart. and I can recognize that#but then the other part of me is like a big mouth hormone monster#just maya rudolph's voice lusting after this beautiful idiotic violent man#and his hot gf who turn out to be equally violent and stupid and dangerous#so. what's a girl to do?#and s4 APPARENTLY this fucker is in Paris#and is a PROFESSOR with LONG HAIR and a BEARD#like I feel targeted. personally.
