         he didn’t bother sending the other male a text, even though he did spend several minutes trying to formulate the words to send him over text message. if bryce hadn’t even been aware of what happened, then it would’ve just been awkward in the end, probably more so than it would be if he did know. mateo was simply tired of talking about it, he was embarrassed by it — but he missed him, admittedly. whether or not he’d actually tell him that was up for debate. he knew bryce had to be lingering somewhere close to the school’s theatre, having helped him some time ago with a few of the drawings for the production they were putting on. it didn’t take long nor was it difficult to spot the tall male upon his arrival, to which he slowly made his way toward. his fingers played with the strings of his sweater, nervous for some reason — the obvious reason was being on bryce’s bad sad was never an ideal thing. “heard ‘ya went to san francisco. how was that?”

“bryce, honey.” she starts in the voicemail, as you hear rustling in the background. “you’ve forgotten your coat at my place last night and i fear you aren’t currently wearing one. now brycington, i do not want you getting a cold and i know your father and fel don’t want that either. you better stay in the warmth of your home until i get this to you and i also made those cookies you like.  i tried to design them like the titles of those musicals you like but there is a reason i’m no pastry chef. also, try to hide them from your father for all i know he’s gonna be complaining about how they aren’t organic. love you, sweetheart.”

It was Saturday night and while most weekends Bryce was usually out with his friends, this weekend he just wanted to stay in and relax. He had a busy, trying week and decided time spent by himself with his black lab, Shadow, nestled upon his side watching movies and eating junk food was the perfect solution to wind down. Currently he had the first Fast and Furious movie popped in his DVD player, curious as to how far he could get into the series in one night. 

It had started storming shortly after the movie started, evident in the way Shadow was acting. His dog had hated storms since he was a pup and it was habit for him to cling to his owner’s side. But Bryce did not expect his dog to jump up and bark at the door out of nowhere. There had been a small knock on his door, one that was drown out by the storm, but Shadow had heard it. “T’is okay,” he cooed, petting the dog as he made his way to the door. He unlatched the lock, speaking before he saw who was in front of him. “Isn’t it a little late, and wet, to be -- ?” he questioned teasingly before his eyes landed on the woman in front of him, stopping his words in their tracks.

His best friend promised to come over. His best friend promised he’d be here soon. Tired, strained blue eyes glanced over at the time on his phone before he pushed his dark rimmed glasses further up the bridge of his nose and buried himself in his mountain of pillows, chocolate ice cream in hand. He didn’t care how disheveled he was; he didn’t care he wasn’t smiling, or his shirt was stained by the sundae, or the fact that his ass still hurt from getting fucked so hard. He just wanted Bryce. Sending him a short text that the door was open, Cecil placed the ice cream back on the night stand and snuggled deeper under the covers, quietly welcoming whatever best friend or serial killer that wished to come in. @thebrycedoll
