When Mei Lian moved here about four years ago, she was homeless, jobless, and was wholly unsure of her every move. But soon after, she came into this pub and she met the owner and suffice to say, he turned her life around. He helped feed her and her baby, he gave her a job, helped her get her first apartment. He was, quite literally, her lifesaver.

It helped too that her daughter adored him, seeing him almost like a father figure given that there was truly no one else Mei or Luna had. And years later, even with Mei now owning her own home and working happily with children, she still made a point to see Santiago at least once a week, the man truly like the big brother she'd always wished her actual big brother would have been.

Walking into the pub, Mei Lian smiled at some regulars and at some of the staff she passed before she headed to the back where she was told he was, grinning as Luna let go of her hand and tore off ahead of her. "Uncle Yago!" was about all the warning he got too as Luna barreled into his leg, making Mei laugh as she trailed behind. "Someone was happy to come visit you today."

Finn stretched his legs out under the table and groaned. He was sore from the days work. A random influx of people not coming to claim their cars and other people looking for parts. It happened from time to time but he had not expected it that day. At least it was over and he was at the Iron Mule having a few drinks with Santi and waiting on a full plate of wings. “How’s shit at the gas station goin’?” He asked the other man, with some hope that he was still working there. Though he was surprised at how many Southside and people like them had managed to hold down a job for a decent amount of time. Just goes to show they weren’t the fuck ups everyone pinned them for.

Mei thought Santiago was incredibly attractive when she first met him and her little crush oftentimes made her flub up at work in the beginning but now the idea of seeing him as anything but platonic/familial is just so outlandish to her.

Luna took her first steps in Santiago's office when she was just shy of one year old. Mei took a picture of them three that evening to commemorate the moment and she has it printed and framed in her house.

Since she moved from London, everything American confused the hell out of her and whenever she got overwhelmed about being disowned and essentially fleeing the only home she's ever known, he always helped calmed her down and show her everything, from learning to drive on the other side of the row to the money conversions and even how to cook a decent burger

If anything were to ever happen to her, she'd want custody of Luna to go to him.
