tbh i will always sympathize with any young girl going through a "not like other girls" phase because it is almost always born of an environment where femininity is treated as frivolous and vapid while simultaneously shaming that young girl for any part of her that does not conform to rigid gender roles.

#until you get to a place where you can be Yourself freely #there is an urge to fight back against gendered expectations #by joining the camp that mocks and degrades those traits being thrust upon you #i think this is also common with queer kids as well #at least it was for me lol #i'm not like other girls but i wanna kiss em #ok to rb
