only had wrist strength for one finished drawing so the thumbnail isn't representative of the chuuya POV dazai-related angst actually in there. the animatic takes place between the cellar scene and the lovecraft fight but has flashbacks to a bunch of other stuff (with my little headcanon kisses <3)

Starting a new oni save that's not a rime colony for the first time in forever and I am in agony how do y'all live like this (shaking and crying as it is forced to enter a mildly warm area for drekos)

#rat rambles #oni posting #also makes guiser taming more annoying but its ok I can manage #my main goal for this playthrough is to make more use of automation and spoms #my last one isnt necessarily being completely abandoned I just wanted to try getting off of rime for a bit #I miss the hypothermia pop ups every five seconds but on the bright side I dont have to worry abt my water supply freezing #Im also trying some other new things and just trying to be more ambitious in general #I managed to force myself to upgrade my bathrooms within the first 50 cycles are you proud of me #I also am making better use of hydro whatever farm plots for my obligatory bristleberry farm #thoroughly enjoying the lessened dupe labor even if it puts a bit more pressure on my initial water supply #I do have a steam vent and a salt water guiser nearby tho so Im not particularly worried #mainly Im just figuring out how I wanna go abt cooling it #my salt water guiser is right by a tundra biome with a cooling machine right inside it so I could attempt to use that #but from my multiple attempts to utilize that thing it's a bit hard to use for liquid cooling #I also think I might build my spom in that same biome so idk #I do have a second tundra biome thats also right next to the saltwater biome but Im trying to preserve it best I can to wildfarm sleet weat #I have also made the laziest drowning chamber I could manage and its called building my hatch ranch over my water tank #plus a critter sensory autosweeper and conveyor loader #it does overkill a lil every time it activates but its ok Im lazy enough to live with it #I also have some pacu and a crab in there so its a whole party in there #this is also going to be my first time having sanishells once I get an egg #not going to properly ranch them tho I kind of just took one to use as a trash can for my early polluted dirt #also Im glad I was able to get onto bristle berries as a primary food source quickly this time around #Im not going to go crazy expanding it for now since I have a couple other crops Im planning on getting going soon as well #mainly lettus and sleet wheat once I find some pips #then I can have early frost burgers if I want. I wont since I havent found any natural gas vents yet but y'know #speaking of oh 4 natural gass vents all near eachother on my last save how I miss you you made power so easy #on the bright side Ill have an oil biome that isn't filled with solid oil this time lol #I should rly make some actual use of oil this time around #hey who knows maybe Ill get far enough to make a sour gas boiler (lying)

im still trying to internalize that disability ≠ a bad thing, re my adhd being a disability. parts of my adhd, like my being able to make quick connections between ideas, i rly love! i also love when i can hyperfocus just right and get a whole project done at once! but like, its still a disability and thats ok. i still have lots of learning to do about disabilities in general ❤️

i understand the feeling of trying to internalize that! and i'm proud of you for doing so. if you don't mind, i'd like to share my own experience with a similar concept -

almost 2 years ago now i developed a chronic pain condition after a traumatic event, quite literally overnight, and i am too still learning to accept it as not a flaw of my character. it's painful, and it fucking sucks, but it has taught me lessons i wouldn't have learned otherwise. i stand up for myself more. i assert my boundaries. i don't let anyone speak over my experience. i call myself disabled, proudly, acceptingly, even when people don't believe me.

i think that mirrors my adhd in a way, too (though i don't consider my own adhd a disability personally, but as you know, im in extreme support of those who do). it's caused me many struggles, but it's also caused me many moments of joy. i wouldn't be the same person without my excitability and verbal spew and hyperfixations and passion and creativity etc etc

it's not bad to have a different body and/or brain :) we're gonna be okay.

yesterday sucked shit i had a migraine all day then had a horrible carpal tunnel flare up n i went into today being like yk. i will accept myself no matter what state im in. if im pain thats ok ill take care of myself, if im tired thats ok ill get to sleep early. cuz wednesdays i have to work the whole produce salesfloor at this grocery store by myself so i was rly expecting today to be hard like i was READY for it. but im actually doing really well today surprisingly, i got compression gloves for my hands which help SOOO MUCH and im somehow not even rly tired w minimal caffeine. and im ROCKING the produce floor!!! im proud of myself today and im OFF TOMORROW 😌

ok so idk about Magnum Opus but . you can hear it in the silence is probably the most personal fic i have ever written and the closest to a magnum opus i’ll ever get bc 1. i relate so deeply to mike wheeler as is and this was kind of how i interpreted his struggle w his identity and coming into himself just as a teenager navigating that weird place between high school and college and figuring out your interests and who u are,, and 2. full disclosure bc we’re all Friends here i Did write this fic right after a long distance relationship ended earlier in the summer which definitely influenced my decision to write it in the first place and 3. idk! there were so many aspects of this fic that were just me projecting, like mike getting the older sister mentor figure he deserves (i love nancy but she is Not the greatest older sister ok) and learning to take his time w things when you feel like u dont have enough of it,, anyways i would say this fic is probably my Favorite ive written ! it’s rly hard for me to reread my works but this one ive read back a few times and i actually. enjoy it?

i might be hoping about this is also rly special to me because IDK i just want what they have in this fic so bad dsdfjsdfj like. tender intimacy w someone who knows u better than u know urself! never having to feel like a burden to someone who loves u because they r happy to take care of u even when u can’t do the same,, idk i just think will byers deserves everything good in the world, and i really liked exploring his relationship to illness/his past trauma in this fic, especially since it was my first time writing established relationship! i Did have to step away from my laptop multiple times while writing this to scream into my pillow (literally im not exaggerating guys) because it was just so soft! and i felt so Lonely! anyways this is also a very special fic to me ik im literally the one who wrote it but GODDAMN i made myself sad.

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

cheesy. but more than anything i think i've come to know myself as a fiction writer this year. ive always written fiction in bits and pieces, and ive done a shit ton of professional nonfiction writing. writing snowbaz last year felt good in that i was finally writing regularly, but switching fandoms upped my confidence because thats when i could finally prove to myself that i wasn't just copying rainbow rowell hahaha. WHICH LIKE she definitely continues to influence my writing but i think ive developed my style in a way where its more my own now -- i don't lean on the style of aftg the way i did for simon snow fics. and while andrew is undeniably NOT my character, ive done a lot of work around the way i write his POV that im proud of. and this makes me think that if i wanted to write original stories i could... even tho i havent rly come up with a story i want to tell on my own just yet!

i could talk abt that time w the klink, but idk if a maybe almost dying things what ppl want 2 hear abt. ummmm

ok so i did some shadowing w drayden 4 a while before i got 2 this point in the process 2 b a gym leader. n that was complicated bc hes a dragon specialist n ive got dracophobia, but i also kinda have 2 b able 2 handle it at least enough 2 b around dragons a lil bit wo panicking. n also theres a lot more 2 gym leader duties than just battling n thats what most of the shadowing was 4 but im getting distracted.

it was kinda late n the gym was closed. n this was rite around new trainer season, so drayden was going through some paperwork 2 make sure everyone got registered properly.

there was suddenly this rly loud crashing sound from the back of the gym. drayden got up n took off his glasses, n he said i could come w him 2 figure out what happened.

we found the problem p quick. an audino thatd wandered in earlier had gotten stuck in a part of the gym puzzle n was thrashing around trying 2 free itself. it was clearly panicking, n it wasnt a situation where itd b safe 2 just approach it.

drayden n i started talking abt how 2 calm it down, in that kinda way where ur talking 2 the pokémon in a reassuring voice while ur actually trying 2 figure out what 2 do. his pokémon were tired out from the long day of work, so he couldnt send anyone in 2 help. but i had crystal n it was doing fine, so we agreed having it try was probably the best idea.

i had crystal use acid armor before it approached 2 protect it, but it turned out it didnt even need 2. it just floated up n gently wrapped its chains around the audino n made a noise that seemed 2 calm it down rly quickly. n with that help, it was rly easy 2 get audino unstuck n get it over 2 the pokémon center 4 treatment.

id always known crystal was gentle n stuff but before that i hadnt realized how far that went n how reassuring it could b 2 a pokémon that terrified. n obvs drayden was proud of her 2 ^v^

EVENTUALLY, DEMON POSSESSION OR NOT(AND THE DEMON FORCING ALMOST EVERYONE INTO DISDAIN FOR HER), CANDY FINDS THE WORKING TV. AND THATS WHEN THE MEMORIES START COMING BACK. FIRST FOR HER, THEN OVER THE COURSE OF CANON, EVERYONE.

ily and ur blog sm but u already know that :) basically i wanted to share my void journey w u for motivation and also to get ur advice!!

so i’ve been working on my void concept for the past 3 days, affirming nonstop ‘i always get into the void no matter what’ and ‘i always manifest in 3 days or less’, and i want to get into the void tonight. my plan is to do the wake back to bed method, so i’ll wake up tonight at around 3am and then lay down, breathe a bit to clear my mind and then start to affirm until i get in. i did this last night but it was like 5am and cars were passing and it distracted me and after a while i got bored & couldn’t be bothered to continue, im fine with it, i keep affirming that i always successfully enter and focus on living in the end !!

anyways, for tonight i’m really determined! i’m going to keep affirming no matter what, i usually get frustrated when i affirm for a long time and nothing happens but i don’t want to let that get to me tonight, i’ll affirm for as long as i want to until i get in, i WILL get in right? as long as i affirm, i will get in no matter what, right? PLS I RLY WANNA GO

also, something that happened to me yesterday was that i was aware of my breathing & controlling it a bit while i was affirming, does that matter? like is that going to stop me from detaching from my 3d or is it ok to consciously breathe while i affirm for the void?

your mind….. but fr theyve been alive for a combined 2000+ years who fuckin knows if they're brothers… and like if you wanna define it as being derived from one common ancestor(mama scandia) then you could say that fra.nce, s.pain, ro.mania, portu.gal, and the ital.ies are all brothers too. imho since europe is an incestuous cesspool, how they act towards each other is more important than any debatable genetic relationships(if they have genetics the same way humans do???). like yeah ger.many prus.sia austr.ia switzerl.and and liec.htenstein are all """related""" but lutz n gil and lili n vasch are distinctly siblings where gil n rod or lutz n lili are not. idk its all very strange BUT my point is to say they don't have a brotherly relationship i guess???

now im not saying the ic*land DNA strips are meant to be taken literally, but i think its fun to take them at face value. it helps that i know fuck all about genetics so i throw on "magical realism" seasoning to cover the fact it makes no sense and call it a day

tldr i personally dont think it has much to do with a common "nation ancestor" but more like the relationships between the original breakoff tribes that would go on to become distinct groups. and the sooner they became distinct groups, the more closely related the Guys would be... or something.

see ive always loved the idea that roaming hunter-gatherer groups each had their own guardian spirit Fella and as the groups collaborated and settled into agriculture, one Guy would become dominant and the others would fade/die/age normally. survival of the strongest cultural identity. so in my mind, to be first-degree related "brothers" it would go like, a group broke off of My Group and immediately You appeared. for example with (mostly)n*rwegian settled ic*land. (and the strip is about ic*land going "idk im pretty sure i was there before your people got there" and getting btfo) you know what i mean? & it would be statistically unlikely for that brother to survive with you for 1500 years so what nor and den have is special. ofc assuming they mean "brother" literally and not as an honorary title which im always split about for like every chr. like calling a family friend "uncle" or yk...adoption. its all ambiguous but thats ok, its vibes

but all this is also why i like ancient r0me being a "grandpa" rather than a father. implying there was a generation between that wasn't strong enough and got absorbed. ooooooh

HARD disagree i think scand!navia has very brotherly vibes but again yeah its ambiguous so idc, im not the type to ship-war or nitpick. but in my ideal vision they all annoy each other on purpose for eternity and none of them rly understand the others but they know each other better than anyone else and thats what matters. familial n5 is my favorite h*talia dynamic ever but i settle for ships bc im starved for content
