First off...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE SQUID!!!
I honestly had no idea it was his birthday until last night from twitter. I was in the middle of writing this scene, in fact, and realized ‘Hey, you know what? I could probably get this done in time for it!’. Now here we are.
Secondly...This is a scene from one of my WIP’s. It will probably take place somewhere in the middle chapters, but I saw that it was a fairly out of context scene to show that it wouldn’t really matter if I showed it now as a teaser or later.
Obviously, I chose the latter.
That said, this is set to change a bit as the WIP develops, but it’ll be nice to see what you all think of it. Hope you enjoy!
Fandom: Undertale, but specifically UTMV
Pairings: Implied Errorink, or Pre-Errorink
Characters: Error (Who belongs to CQ) and Ink (Who belongs to Comyet)
Warnings: Nothing really. Although, again, it is a scene from a wip, which means that it is not in it’s final form. Let me know!
Word Count: 2488
~oOo~
His phone buzzed on the floor beside him. Ink paused in the middle of trying to balance a pencil on his finger, which was probably a losing battle, but since when has that ever stopped him before? That’s right, never. And it never would. Setting the pencil aside, he checked his phone and read the short message.
mommy-bear
Are you coming home for supper? It’s past 5.
Ink jumped, looking outside to see that, indeed, the sun was lower in the sky and time had in fact passed. They must’ve gotten lost in the throughs of their homework, or the casual avoidance of it, for one of them. Error seems to have made some sort of headway into the work from Mx. Alex. Good for him. He’ll be able to hand it in on Monday without it bugging him in the back of his mind while he ignores that bugging and just doddles instead of doing his work like he should until the next thing he knows it’s almost midnight on Sunday and he still hasn’t gotten it done.
But honestly, who would do that? Certainty not Ink.
Error had also noticed his jump and was looking at him now. “What is it?”
“Just a text from my mom.” He answered, gathering up his things. A glance to his study buddy showed Error blinking and setting down his pencil as well in order to listen. “She was just wondering where I was. It’s after five, y’know? I said I’d be back then.”
“Oh.” Error fell silent after that.
Once his things were all accounted for (he did lose his eraser for a minute there and partially freaked out about it, which was kind of silly as he had plenty more than just this one white one, others that were far more colourful, but he didn’t have to worry for long—Error had silently placed it on the bed for him to grab, making Ink smile in gratitude), Ink walked to the bedroom door and got to the top of the stairs before he realized another pair of footsteps were following him.
Man, Error really needed to take him up on the suggestion of bells. He was too silent on his feet, just too much like a ghost for his liking. Not that he didn’t like ghosts. He just didn’t like people being silent when their walking. It made him paranoid.
Ink turned around. “You know I can just walk myself back, right? I literally live right next door.” He held up one finger. “That’s the house right beside yours.”
Error scowled, just like he always did when Ink pointed things out like that. It was also a reason why he was determined to point things like that out as often as he did, which was rather often. “Don’t be stupid. Of course I know that.”
“Then why are you following me?”
“What if I wasn’t? What if I just decided to get some food? To do that, I’d need to go to the kitchen, which is also downstairs.” He gestured to the passageway to said downstairs. “Those are the only stairs to get there.”
Ink smirked, “You have a box on the top shelf of your closet where you keep all the chocolate you bought, stole, or stole from Fell.” This statement was rewarded with a light blush of embarrassment from Error, who looked around as if to make sure his brothers didn’t overhear.
Ink was sure that they already knew though.
He also suspected that they put chocolate in the box too, as Error was sometimes surprised that there was some there when he had said he had eaten it all.
“I didn’t even say I was getting chocolate! I might be getting something else.”
“You don’t snack on anything but chocolate.” Error’s scowl deepened. “You also sort of admitted to following me” He couldn’t help but laugh when the blush on Error’s skull deepened in realization and his taller friend looked away from him. It was always interesting to see just how much it took to get to this shade of blue, with the yellow freckle-like dots just barely seen overtop. The sight made Ink want to draw it.
He wanted to draw it so badly.
Laughter dying down, Ink tilted his head and smiled at Error. “If you wanted to walk with me, you could’ve just asked.”
For some reason, Error glanced back at him and quickly looked away again, blush deepening again, the yellow becoming brighter. He also started to glitch a little bit, which would normally spark a tiny bit of worry, but he could see that the other wasn’t in any danger, so he had no reason to worry. If the glitches got worse, then he could worry.
That was…pretty much the saying for being friends with him.
‘If the glitches got worse, then you could worry.’
Error burrowed down, like he usually would if he had his scarf on. It was, presumably, back in his room. Weird. The glitch he knew never went anywhere without his scarf; at school, at home, at the café, at the park, walking, sitting, it was always on. Well, it probably came off at home. Here he was with his family, a safe, happy environment away from the judging eyes of school and the city. He could be himself here. That’s an assumption, at least, hopefully the right one. Ink didn’t know the relationship between skeleton and scarf and never asked, never would talk about it until, or if, Error brought it up. He wanted to respect his privacy, after all.
But now that he thought about it, the scarf had been coming off around him lately. It had started off small. It started with it being up to his mouth, almost as if a way to hide or be smaller than he was. That was how it was for a while. Then one morning, it was down just a bit, just under his mouth. And as the days passed and the two talked more and became friends, the scarf would be lower and lower. Down to the chin in Math. Under the chin the next day. Around his neck a week later in English class.
It was almost like earning his trust. He had earned Error’s trust, which meant that he got to see the skeleton behind the scarf. The true, unshielded one.
It was…kind of nice, to be honest.
Ink blinked, coming back to himself and realizing that Error had mumbled something.
“Sorry, what?”
Error looked back at him and sighed a little before speaking up just enough so that Ink could hear. “I said, can I…walk with you?” His arms went in front of him. Ink guessed that it was a temporary shield in place of the scarf.
He was prepared to be rejected and just walk back to his room.
Well, Ink couldn’t have that, now could he?
“Of course!” The smile on his face widened and he started down the stairs with lighter steps. It was always nice when friends offered to walk you home or something of the sort. The walk was less lonely, even if you never spoke a word.
It’s just how it was.
They talked in the small time it took to get from Error’s house to Ink’s. Well, that wasn’t really true. Ink did most of the talking, which ended up being mostly complaints about homework and school and also talk about his works in progresses. Error just listened quietly, humming or nodding in certain spots. He would like to think that Ink could talk about nothing at all and Error would listen. It just seemed to be the way he was.
Their friendship was a good one. Maybe there were a few unbalances here and there, but overall, it was good and healthy and, most importantly, mutual. It benefited both of them in different ways. Ink had someone who would listen without interrupting, who cared about his interest and how he felt, even though he didn’t have a soul and relied on substitutes. Error had someone who didn’t pressure him into a conversation, who gave him and respected his personal space and asked before touching his things and body. It was like a missing piece just fell into place, so perfect, it felt like it hadn’t been missing at all.
That said, there were some hurdles.
Like how Ink was soulless. There was always that thought, loud or quiet, one that questioned whether the love he felt towards his friends and family was real. Or if he was just deluding himself and everyone around him into thinking that they were. This thought had always been there, since before Dream and Blue, before Error, before anyone he was with now—what if it was all fake?
It was kind of silly. The substitutes he took acted as a soul. It supplied him his soul magic, the working parts of his body and the emotion spectrum. He may not feel things as intensely as others and may be lacking a feeling in a certain way, but that didn’t mean they weren’t real. They’re substitutes for a reason, after all.
…Ah! They’ve arrived at his house.
Ink blinked, stopping on the first step and turning back to Error. “So…” he said, finding himself unable to think of what else to say. He shifted awkwardly and cleared his throat. “I’ll see you next Friday?” He tried to think back on what else was going on in school. “We have some sort of project to do or test to study for, right?”
Error nodded. “Yeah, I think so.” He fell silent too, but didn’t leave like Ink had expected. He lingered, clearly thinking about something with the way his arms slightly glitched around. He didn’t say anything, though.
“Anything else?” Ink asked, trying to prompt him.
The blush, which had died down as they walked over here, brightened again. “Um…yeah, actually.” Error straightened and fiddled with his sleeve. “Do you remember the lesson we had…I think it was a month ago? In Health?”
Ink rocked on his heels as he thought. It was times like these that he cursed his memory. A month ago…a month ago…he didn’t really remember a lot of the lessons from a month ago. But the ones that he did… “Do you mean the one about the different types of intimacy? I only recall that it was about intimacy, nothing specific.”
“Yeah…yeah, that’s the one.”
“Okay…why is it important?” Curious. Error rarely asked him if he could remember a lesson from as long as a month ago. He knew how bad Ink’s memory was, so why did he ask? And why now, of all times?
“I, uh…w-well…” Error stuttered. Error didn’t normally stutter. It was only when he glitched really badly and was on the verge of crashing that he stuttered, or lagged, as he liked to call it. Normally, though, he spoke fine, if quiet and almost echoey.
Speaking of glitches…the ones on his arms had quickened up a little. Not enough to be too worrying yet, but definitely something to watch over.
Frowning, Ink was just about to bring that to attention when Error spoke again, voice clearer. “Just…can you…raise your hand?” He slowly brought up a hand with the inside facing Ink, like he was to high-five someone. “Like this?”
Ink eyed him suspiciously.
One of the first things he had learned about Error was that the other had haphephobia. He couldn’t stand people touching him, as it usually caused a flurry of glitches in the touched spot, and sometimes it was so bad that the minute someone touched him, he crashed. Those days were few, but they have happened. Ink had been lucky that it hasn’t happened since meeting Error. But this fact he had taken in and committed to memory, determined to not trigger his friend like that.
He would hate himself, if he did.
But now Error was asking him to raise his hand? For what? He couldn’t see them high-fiving. It would be too painful for Error and frankly a bit of a reach for Ink (he hated being short like that). And because it would be painful, he couldn’t see why he had to raise his hand.
But he was curious.
Curiosity usually made his answers for him.
Just as slowly as Error did, Ink raised his hand, mirroring the one in front of him.
Error inhaled and…
Ink’s mind froze.
He could barely focus on Error stepping closer as excitement and happiness began to take over. The urge to squeal was overwhelming, but he reigned himself in as he knew that wouldn’t help Error at all. It would probably just make him run away and never come near Ink again. And he didn’t want that. So, he forced himself to stay still and stay quiet, eyes focused on the hand that started to come closer and closer to his.
He could see the black bones begin to glitch a ton and felt a spark of worry—despite what might just happen, he didn’t want Error to hurt himself. He would never want him to—he should speak up now. He should tell Error to stop and calm down.
They didn’t have to do it like this.
They didn’t even have to touch at all!
They didn’t…have to…
It was…warm.
Fuzzy.
The hands contrasted starkly and they would be stunning in a painting. The white of Inks and the black of Errors. They were different, but they looked so well together.
This…This had to be a dream.
But it wasn’t. There was a light touch to his bones, just enough to know that the hand against his was, in fact, against his and trembling ever so slightly and actually existed in the world and not just his imagination. Somehow, this made it even more surreal. He knew it was real…but he just couldn’t believe it.
If this was a dream, he didn’t want to wake up.
Despite his promise to stay still, Ink shakily inhaled.
And just like that, the spell was broken.
Error retracted his hand and walked away quickly. Ink was slow to realize what was happening and so by the time his hand was up and the name of his tongue, his friend was already gone. He stood there with his arm outstretched, gazing at the house next door blankly.
He slowly looked down at his hand.
It still tingled.
Gently wrapping his other hand around it, not daring to actually touch, he brought the hands closer to his chest, right over where his soul would be.
It felt like something should be beating wildly in there.
It felt like some new emotion had been lodged in his substitutes.
And somehow, it felt like that contact, the light touch of hands, was far more intimate than a kiss had ever and would ever be.

only fools rush in / part one: two parties and a lot of crushes
this first part is kind of all over the place. basically i just wanted to establish the dynamics going on here and i figured the best way to do so would be through group hang outs and stuff like that. it feels like i cover a lot here, but future installments will be more focused on one couple or group! sorry for the kind of wackiness and yeah.
i don’t think that there’s anything that i need to tag for this, but this part includes: QPP loceit, Remus making jokes, Roman crushing hard, Emile and Remy very briefly.
[masterlist]
if you want to be tagged when i update, please send me an ask/reply/reblog and i’ll be sure to add you for the next part!
read to the end for the title and a small teaser for part two!
next update will be on: Sunday, July 19.

“Wait, you have a twin?” Patton looked at Roman in deep disbelief. “Why didn’t you get an apartment with him?” Roman just shrugged, unloading one of his boxes, hanging up his shirts. “Lo, did you know about this?”
“Yes. He’s one of Janus’ new roommates,” the man in the tie said, leaning against the wall, eyes focused on the phone in his hand as he typed quickly. Patton’s jaw dropped, and he crossed his arms, frowning.
“Yeah, he’s moving in with Virgil Cloud, too,” Roman said, eyes focused forward, but he couldn’t hide the light dusting of pink that appeared on his cheeks. Virgil was the techie for the last school production, and Roman couldn’t help but fall for the embodiment of a dark and stormy night, with his black nail polish and purple fringe and–
“Earth to Roman,” Patton was waving a hand in front of his face. Roman blinked, then smiled awkwardly at his pastel-clad roommate. “You should invite them all to a party tonight! Logan, will you tell Jan to bring his roommates?”
“I- we were gonna…” Logan sighed, then nodded, head hanging in front of him, “I guess so.” He didn’t have the heart to tell his roommates that he and his partner had other plans for the evening, so he texted Janus quickly about the change.
Roman and Patton want you to bring your roommates over for a party tonight. We can leave early, though. -Logan
A party could be fun, Lo. Besides, I think that Virgil has a crush on Roman. ~Janus
I believe that it’s mutual. I don’t really want to stick my nose into their business, though. -Logan
-
Logan opened the door to the apartment to see Janus, Remus, and Virgil standing there. Remus was holding a twelve-pack of beer, Janus had a bottle of wine, and Virgil kept his eyes down on the floor, not acknowledging anything as the three stepped into the apartment. Logan kept the door open since it was already warm in the apartment with the three of them; the end of summer was always unbearably hot in their town. Roman immediately gravitated towards Virgil as the others went over to the kitchen counter to open their drinks.
“Hi Virgil,” Roman said, smiling brightly. “I don’t know if you remember me–”
“Of course I do,” Virgil muttered, leaning against a wall awkwardly. “You were the lead in the play last term.” Roman stammered over his words, his cheeks once again dusted with pink.
“Oh, yeah, yeah, that…” he chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. “You uh, did a really great job as one of the tech guys. It was… awesome.”
“Thanks.” Virgil stuffed his hands into his jacket pockets, and he still hadn’t looked up at Roman.
“Can I uh… get you a drink or something? Or…” Roman’s words trailed off, he wished that Virgil would just look up at him and meet his eyes and then maybe they’d fall in love–
“Hey there!” Emile stepped in through the open front door, carrying a plate full of baked goods. “I just wanted to welcome you… oh, looks like somebody’s having a party!” Roman grumbled then went up to the man in the sweater, wondering how he could cope in the heat. “Hi there! I’m Emile Picani, I live downstairs!” “Nice to meet you. I’m Roman, and my roommates Patton and Logan are… somewhere,” he said, sticking his hand out. Emile giggled and brought the tall man in for a hug. “Oh, uh…”
“Sorry, I’m a bit of a hugger!” Emile laughed, setting the cookies down on a table. “You all go to the university? I’m working on my psychology doctorate there.” At this, Virgil perked up and came over, and Emile held his arms out for a hug.
“Please don’t,” Virgil muttered, and Emile backed up a little, giving a toothy smile. “Uh… you study psychology? I’m majoring in that…” He said shyly, and Emile pulled him by his wrist to sit down on one of the couches.
“Okay, I’m your mentor now! Let’s chat,” The two went to go sit down on the couch, and Roman frowned. Of course Virgil would be interested in chatting with someone in his field of study, but… he really wanted to talk to Virgil, maybe ask him on a date. He stuffed one of the cookies that Emile made into his mouth and groaned at how delicious they were. Of course he could bake. He’d probably be able to steal Virgil away, too.
Remus was watching this from his spot against one of the walls, and noticed his twin’s distraught demeanor. He thought about saying something, but out of the corner of his eye he saw Patton smiling brightly at something that Janus said, his sweater sleeves pushed up to his elbows, exposing colorful floral tattoos on his forearms, and that was it: Remus was smitten. He didn’t hesitate to approach the trio talking at the kitchen counter, Janus and Logan sharing a bar stool, Patton resting his chin on his hands as he listened to the pair recall how they decided to become partners over the summer break. Remus settled into a chair next to Patton, and silence fell over the table.
“I don’t believe we’ve met, cutie pie,” Remus said, raising an eyebrow at the small man. Janus and Logan exchanged a look and got up to go chat with Roman, and Patton turned his attention to focus directly on Remus.
“You must be Remus!” Patton exclaimed suddenly, eyes bright as his smile beamed at the curly-haired man, and Remus suddenly wished that he was wearing sunglasses. “I can’t believe I didn’t know that Ro had a twin!”
“Ah, you must be Patton,” Remus said, realizing that this was the roommate he didn’t know. Patton nodded excitedly. Remus stretched his hand out and grazed his fingers against the floral tattoos, and Patton shivered. “These are beautiful, though not as gorgeous as you, flower.”
“T-thank you,” Patton said, his face bright red at the fact that he was complimented and given a nickname. “Do you have tattoos?” Remus nodded and rolled up one of his jacket sleeves, revealing a morning star.
“I minor in medieval history. Weaponry is so fascinating,” he mused, and Patton nodded, brushing his short fingers over the tattoo. “I have a few more, but they’re in… unique places… Maybe I can show you someday, flower.”
“O-oh, uhm…” Patton stammered over his words, the blush spreading down to his neck and to his ears. “M-maybe…” Remus smirked, leaning closer to the small man.
“If I’m making you uncomfortable, please tell me,” He whispered, and Patton shook his head quickly, which made Remus smile. Patton wasn’t exactly Remus’ usual type; soft boys never paid much attention to those with piercings and a menacing glare, but Remus quickly realized that Patton wasn’t like the others.
“Y-You’re not…” Patton’s face was so red and warm that he felt like he could explode. No one like Remus had ever paid him this much attention. He was always taunted by jocks and punks because of his softness, but Remus? The dark makeup, the piercings, the tattoos, and the leather jacket, it all made him feel… dangerous. And Patton secretly loved danger.
Roman was leaning against the wall, watching as everyone else had someone to talk to. His twin was hitting it off with Patton, Janus and Logan were sitting on one of the couches, looking at something on Logan’s phone, and Emile and Virgil were on another couch, talking about psychology. He had never felt left out from any situation in his life before, but here he was, alone in a room full of people.
He couldn’t help but focus on Virgil, who had lit up as he talked about things that Roman knew nothing about. Roman was, of course, happy that Virgil was smiling, but he wished he was the one making the very tall man smile. Emile seemed nice enough, but… something about him irked Roman to no end.
“Oh, hang on,” Emile’s phone was ringing, the tune to a cartoon that Roman vaguely remembered blasting out loudly. He answered the phone, and Roman listened carefully. “Oh, sorry baby! I’m upstairs welcoming our new neighbors. I’ll be right there. Okay, bye.” He hung up and glanced around. “Sorry, that was my boyfriend Remy, I have to go!” He gave a hug to Virgil who waved goodbye awkwardly, then went around hugging everyone, and then left the apartment, closing the front door behind him. Virgil looked like he was going to melt into the couch, and Roman took this as his moment. He sat down next to the tall man and gave him a warm smile.
“So, uh, what do you think the production will be for this term?” Roman asked, and Virgil shrugged. “I’m hoping for a musical, but I’m not much of a dancer…”
“I kind of want something that allows me to experiment with fog on the stage, you know?” Virgil said, glancing down. “I’m not brave enough to audition for any roles on the stage, but I really like working behind the scenes…” Roman frowned, watching Virgil carefully.
“Well, when they announce the production and if there’s a role that interests you, I could help you… practice, maybe? To build up your confidence,” he suggested, but Virgil just shook his head. “I used to get stage fright really bad. But… if it’s something you love doing… then it’s worth all of that anxiety, right?”
“Is it?” Virgil’s voice was shaky. “In one of my school plays as a kid I fell on my face in front of everybody during my solo. Afterwards, I found out that someone purposely spilled water where they knew I’d be walking.” He twisted his fingers together, and Roman frowned. “Ever since, I haven’t wanted to be on stage in front of others.”
“No one would do that here,” Roman said reassuringly. “If they did, I’d beat them up until they fell on the ground, too,” his face was firm, resolved, and it made Virgil laugh a little. “I think… you should try. I’d love to perform with you.”
“Yeah… maybe,” Virgil looked down at him finally, and Roman thought he would melt into a puddle on the floor. “Thanks, Roman.”
-
“Remus is so cool, you know? And he’s so sweet,” Patton was blabbering. It was a few weeks after the party, and the three roommates were playing Mario Kart in the living room. In the time since that first party, the semester had started and they were all buried in school work, and had only seen the other three in passing or going out to dinner as a group. “N-not that you’re not cool, Roman, it’s just… he’s on a different level!”
“Yeah, a dangerous level,” Roman muttered so that Patton couldn’t hear, but Logan did, and he sighed. Roman didn’t want to reveal his fraught relationship with his brother to Patton, but he also wanted to protect the soft, small man. But… Patton was so enthralled, and Roman had never seen him that way. He seemed happier since meeting Remus, and had a confidence that didn’t exist in him before. But Roman definitely had a surge of concern for the other man.
“Do you think we should invite them all over today?” Patton suggested as he finally rolled over the finish line, in second to last place. Logan had gotten first, of course, and Roman a close second. This was the usual for their games.
“I actually have plans with Janus–” Logan started, but then his phone rang. He answered it. “Hello? Oh, hi Janus… what? But we were…” he sighed, then covered the receiver while he looked at the two others. “Remus wants to invite us all to their place for a movie night or something.”
“Yes!!” Patton exclaimed happily. “Oh, I should figure out what to wear. What time, Lo?” He asked, his excitement bubbling over. It was contagious. Roman could practically see the cogs in Patton’s mind moving as he thought about what to wear and how to do his makeup.
“Eight, apparently,” Logan responded, his lips pulled into a taut line. He brought the receiver back towards his mouth. “I guess we will be there. Yeah, see you later. Bye.” He hung up, a frown on his face. Roman wondered if he should dress nice, too, since he’d be seeing Virgil.
“Dibs on the first shower!” Roman exclaimed, dropping his controller and running off to the bathroom. Three guys and one bathroom wasn’t ideal, but it was what they had to deal with.
By the time all three of them had gotten ready, it was almost 7:30. Roman went with his usual attire, as opposed to Patton, who went a little overboard (probably to try and impress Remus): he was wearing a pale green sweater and some shorts, knee-high socks, and his converse, his makeup bright and colorful, the emphasis on his lips and eyes. Logan was wearing his usual attire as well, but had slipped into a coat since they’d be walking to the other building. It was only a few blocks away, but things always got sidetracked when Roman and Patton were involved.
Once Patton slung his messenger bag over his shoulder, the three set out to the others’ apartment. On their way down, they passed Emile, who was walking into the building with another man, their fingers intertwined.
“Hey kiddos!” Emile said cheerfully, waving his free hand at them. “Remy, these are the new neighbors I told you about!” The man called Remy raised his eyebrows then nodded in greeting.
“Hey babes,” he said.
“Where are you all going together?” Emile asked, and Roman thought it was a bit nosy to ask of them, but he said nothing.
“Oh, we’re going to Roman’s twin brother’s apartment–”
“Yes, and we really should get going now. Goodbye Emile, nice to meet you Remy,” Roman began to nudge Patton along the sidewalk, and Logan shot the couple an apologetic glance.
-
“Ugh, this movie is booooooring!” Remus yelled, startling the others. He had thrown his arms up in frustration. Logan and Janus were on the couch, trying to wait for the right moment to leave since they had their own plans. Remus, Roman, and Patton were on the floor or on cushions, eating the pizza they’d ordered, and Virgil was on the lounge chair, just observing.
“You’re the one who suggested a movie, idiot,” Virgil muttered, crossing his arms. Remus frowned, then finished off his bottle of beer. He made a soft hmmm noise, then began speaking again.
“This empty bottle gives me an idea. Spin the bottle, anyone? Or perhaps… truth or dare with spin the bottle?” He suggested, eyebrows wiggling. Patton’s face turned bright red, and some of the others all mumbled their disagreement.
“Isn’t that game for high schoolers, Re?” Roman asked, rolling his eyes. He glanced at Virgil, though, and wondered what it would be like to kiss him tonight. Not that he’d ever do that, Virgil hadn’t shown any interest in him, but…
“Sounds like fun,” Janus said, smirking from his spot next to Logan, who pouted. Janus noticed this and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek. “Oh, come now, Lolo, just a round or two and then we can go, okay? You know how much I love truth or dare.” Logan sighed, then nodded.
“Fine, a few rounds.”
The group moved the coffee table out of the way and sat in a circle, the empty beer bottle laying in the middle of all of them. “Alright, rule time,” Remus started. “The spinner asks the person it lands on for truth or dare, and then must ask them. The person who last did the thing spins it next. Capiche?” Roman shrugged and then pat Remus on the shoulder.
“You spin first, bro,” he said, settling in as he sat cross-legged on the floor. Remus shrugged and leaned forward, spinning the bottle. It pointed towards Logan, who sighed. Remus smirked, crossing his arms, deep in thought.
“Truth or dare?” Remus asked finally, meeting Logan’s eyes. It was silent for a few moments as Logan pondered his options. Janus leaned over and whispered something in Logan’s ear, and his partner nodded.
“Truth,” Logan said confidently, and Remus raised an eyebrow.
“Would you wear your best friend’s used underwear if you went camping and ran out?” Remus asked, and Patton giggled, covering his mouth to prevent spit from flying everywhere.
“Uh…” Logan glanced at Janus, who was trying to hide his laughter at the audacity of the question. “Yeah, I would? I’ve worn Janus’ underwear before–”
“Whoah, whoah, too much info, stop,” Virgil waved his hands, groaning. Patton pouted a little, frowning at Logan and Janus.
“I thought I was your best friend, Lo?” He asked, and Logan hit his forehead with his hand.
“You- Pat, ugh,” Logan was exasperated, and he glanced at Patton carefully. “You’re both my best friends, okay?” Patton seemed pleased with this answer, a smile crossing his features again. Logan leaned forward to spin the bottle, and it landed on Remus. “Uh…”
“I mean, if it’s just you two who get to play, that’s fine,” Virgil commented, leaning his back on the lounge chair behind him.
“Maybe if it lands on Logan again, though, you respin?” Patton suggested, and everyone else nodded in agreement. Remus shrugged, and then nodded to Logan.
“Dare me, Lodaddy,” he cackled, and Janus rolled his eyes, but still slid his hand over to rest on Logan’s thigh, a protective glare directed at Remus.
“I dare you to get an A in one of your courses this semester,” Logan smirked, adjusting his glasses. A few of the others grumbled about how that wasn’t fair, but Remus nodded in acceptance and held out his hand to shake Logan’s.
“Dealio!” He spun the bottle again and it landed on Roman. “Alright, twinny twin, truth or dare?” He waggled his eyebrows at his twin.
“I know better than for you to ask me a truth. So, dare,” Roman said, confident with his decision. An evil look crossed Remus’ eyes only briefly as he glanced between Roman and Virgil.
“Kiss the back of Virgil’s knee,” he said simply, and Roman nearly choked on his own saliva. Virgil buried his face in his hands, grumbling a little. Patton started to defend the two.
“Now, Virgil, you don’t have to–”
“Yes I do, it’s a fucking dare,” Virgil mumbled, standing up. He rolled one of his pant legs up and turned around so the back of his leg was facing Roman, whose face was bright red and who felt like his breath was being stolen from him. “Just make it quick, Princey.” Roman turned more red at the nickname, which probably stemmed from his role in the production from the previous semester. He scooted over to Virgil and pressed his lips to the bend between Virgil’s thigh and calf, and then scooted back, saying nothing. The tall man rolled his pant leg back down and sat down, explicitly not looking at Roman. His pale face was lightly pink.
After a few awkward beats, Roman leaned forward and spun the battle. It landed on Patton, who looked to be in deep thought. “Truth or dare, Pat?”
“Hmmm. I think truth is safer,” Patton admitted, and Roman thought a little. He hoped that his plan would work, but was concerned over what could come from a question like this. He really did want happiness for Patton, even if his brother was involved.
“What are three things you first noticed when you met your crush, if you have one?” Roman asked, and Patton glanced down at his fingers, twisting them together, his face dusted with a pale blush. Remus perked up a little, listening carefully to the answer the small man gave.
“U-um… well… I noticed that he has gray in his hair, that he has a lot of piercings, and that he has a cute smile,” Patton said this so quietly that everyone had to lean in to hear it. Patton’s face was bright red by the time he finished listing off the attributes, and everyone’s eyes trailed over to Remus, who was smirking. Patton quietly excused himself and practically ran to the restroom, grabbing his bag along the way, leaving the rest of the group in an awkward silence.
“Fuck, that’s on me,” Roman said, standing up. “I’ll go… check on him,” he said, and he followed Patton to the bathroom, knocking on the door once. “Pat, it’s me Roman, are you okay?”
“Why did you ask me that?” Patton asked from the other side of the door. It sounded like he was crying, since he was sniffling a little bit. “You know I like him, but I wasn’t ready to say anything, Ro.”
“I’m sorry, Patton, I just… I saw that you liked him and figured a little nudge could help…” Roman explained, then sighed. Maybe he had overstepped a little. “Do you wanna go home?”
“Roman,” a voice came from behind him. It was Remus. “Is he okay?” Concern was etched on his face, and he had crossed his arms. Roman was surprised to see this much care coming from his twin.
“Is that Remus? Oh god, hang on,” Patton sounded like he was panicking. “Where are my makeup remover wipes–” A clattering of things falling out of his messenger bag could be heard. “Shoot!” Remus and Roman exchanged a look as the noises of Patton being flustered echoed into the hallway. “I can’t believe… such a fool… dang it… stop crying, idiot…”
“Patton,” Remus stepped past Roman to knock on the door. “Patton, it’s okay… I uh…” He cleared his throat, “my first impressions of my crush were that he has really awesome floral tattoos, his pink hair is awesome, and he dresses in a really cute way.” He admitted. Roman started to back up, but saw Patton open the door and peek out.
“R-really…?” He asked. It was obvious he had been crying, his eyes were red and his eyeliner had smudged, but he had wiped the majority of it off. “Um…”
“Patton, do you wanna go on a date with me next weekend?”
Roman scooted out of earshot, and stepped back into the living room, but not before he heard Patton squeak out an affirmation. Janus and Logan had disappeared, maybe off to go and do whatever their plans were, and Virgil was scrolling on his phone.
“Sorry about Remus’ dare. If I’d have known about what he’d ask me to do, I would’ve gone with a truth instead,” Roman admitted. Virgil’s face hardened, but the theater major didn’t notice this. “I’d hate to make you uncomfortable.”
“Uh, it’s okay…” Virgil didn’t meet Roman’s eyes, though, as he sat down beside him on the couch. “Actually, um. I was looking at the roles for this next production? Have you looked yet?” Of course Roman had looked. They were going to be doing a production of Wicked, and Roman was absolutely stoked for it.
“Yeah, I’m planning on auditioning for Fiyero…” Roman mused, then remembered the conversation he had with Virgil a few weeks ago. “Is there a role you’re interested in, Virgil?”
“Um, actually, I’ve always loved Boq, but… I don’t know if I’m talented enough for that,” he admitted, twisting his fingers together. “Plus I’m a little tall to play a Munchkin.” Roman sighed, then smiled encouragingly at the taller man.
“Well, I can help you practice for the audition, if you’d like!” Roman said, and Virgil nodded. “I don’t think your height will affect anything, it’s all about talent!”
“Oh. Yeah… I’d uh… really appreciate that, actually.” Virgil responded, still looking down at his hands. “I just… auditioning is really scary, you know?” Roman shrugged, then set his hand on Virgil’s shoulder.
“Maybe they’ll let us audition together, so that way you’ve got a familiar face on stage,” he suggested. Virgil nodded, a small smile appearing on his face. “Hey, don’t worry, Virge. I think you’re gonna do great.”

“I’ve never seen you so panicked over a first date, so I think that means that this is… real for you. You’re going to take this one seriously.”

A CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY
Important Note: This is a fic I've written on my old account @/sukinamonodesu. I'm reuploading my old works here under the tag #my fic.
Originally uploaded on 5.27.18
The first thing that greeted Goshi and F/n when they got back on to Thrive’s floor was a very questionable scene.
Everyone from B-Pro was calling out for a certain ‘Goshi’. Tatsu and Miroku are searching for 'Goshi’ high up above the shelves while Akane and Yuta are searching down under the chairs and sofa. Meanwhile, Tomo and Kazu are searching the inside of each and every cabinets. The Teramitsu twins are even wearing a matching cat ears while waving around a feather teaser cat toy. Everyone was so wrapped up in their search, they didn’t even notice them come in.
Feeling amused, F/n went to the nearest member, who happens to be Yuta, to ask who are they specifically looking for. Since she’s quite sure Goshi wouldn’t fit in any of the spaces they were searching for him in.
“Neh, Yuta-kun. Who are you all looking for?” F/n managed to ask in a composed voice despite trying so hard not to grin. Upon hearing F/n’s voice, Yuta quickly jump up to his feet and began to incoherently babble something about 'looking away’ and 'losing Goshi’.
Now, F/n very well know that even though Goshi was out of sight for the others, he actually is just a few steps behind her, but she just couldn’t help it.
“You lost Goshi? I mean, I know Goshi isn’t as tall as you are but to lose him and on top of that, to look for him on top of shelves, in cabinets and below the chairs – Don’t you think it’s a bit too much?” F/n began. With everyone’s attention on her, she then looked back to where Goshi is before adding the words, “Don’t you think so too, Goshi?”
“That first line of yours was unnecessary!” Goshi growled.
“Well, I couldn’t help it.” F/n laughs.
At seeing Goshi, Yuta quickly rushed forward to glomp at him, only to be halted by a hand to his face. But it didn’t deter Yuta from screeching out things like 'You came back!’, 'You’re human again!’ and other stuffs that literally made no sense to Goshi.
“Oh… Is this some sort of betrayal, Goshi? Should I be jealous?” F/n teased as Goshi continues to struggle with keeping Yuta at a distance.
“Huh!? Of course not – !!…” Goshi began to protest but at seeing F/n’s grin he continued with a grumbled “You’re totally enjoying this, aren’t you?”
“Well… You two are being cute and all… But I’m a tiny bi–t curious as to what was going on here a while ago, so let’s talk about that first.” F/n suggested.
With that said, everyone took their seats and began to tell the tale of how Yuta, who went into Goshi’s room earlier, found the room very much in disarray. Going into the room only to accidentally stumble upon Goshi’s clothes that have been lying down on the floor as if the wearer had fallen down. And that instead of Goshi, he founds a cat under the clothes. Very much convinced that Goshi somehow turned into a cat, he then frantically gathered everyone in Thrive’s common room.
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
“Are you all stupid? Why would I even turn into one?” Goshi asked incredulously. “And you, stop laughing!”
“Pfft.. With Yuta I can still understand… but for you guys to -pfft- ahaha… Sorry… It’s just too funny…” F/n managed to say between laughters.
“We doubted it, too… At first… But the cat answered all questions correctly.” Kazuna explained.
“Questions?… Answered correctly?…” F/n asked intrigued.
“That’s right! He picked out the correct answers from all the choices we’ve offered him! He knows all of Kane-chin’s favorites! I was starting to think if this kind of magical scenario can happen in reality, wouldn’t it also be possible to have Mamirin come to life~!” Mikado declared ecstatically.
“No. It’s impossible.” Momotaro quickly shot down Mikado’s enthusiasm.
“So… Where’s this cat you’re all talking about?” Goshi asked ignoring Mikado’s 'Anything’s possible with love! And Mamirin is love!’ protest.
“Well, Go – I mean, the cat got scared by Kento’s sudden shriek just now and scampered off. That’s why we’re looking for it.” Akane answered.
“Hmm~ I can’t believe you got scared by a cat.” Goshi snickered.
“That’s not an ordinary cat! It’s pure evil! Urgh… I don’t even want to think about it!” Kento shuddered.
“That’s rude! kitty-Goshi even gave you a present! I would’ve wanted to receive one.” Haruhi complained.
“Haruhi’s right, you know. Cats only give presents to the people they like, so you should be honored Kento-kun.” F/n reprimanded.
“F/n-san, apparently the cat gave him a cockroach as a present.” Yuzuki explained.
“Ho–oh… That cat’s smart. Maybe it’s trying to help you get rid of your stupid fear** of insects.” Goshi teased.
“It’s not stupid! Insects are creepy and… ugh… And I don’t want to hear that from someone who’s afraid of ghost!” Kento countered. “I bet F/n finds that fear of yours equally stupid!”
Having said that, everyone turned their attention to F/n, who’s very much suspiciously trying hard not to laugh. Inhaling deeply to compose herself, F/n confessed, “But I find it cute, though…” When Goshi sputtered with a blush about to protest, she quickly added, “–and so is that tsundere side of him.”
Undignified, Goshi was about to once again protest, when a blob made a quick lunge to his lap, nuzzling and purring up a storm.
With everyone’s attention now on the blob on Goshi’s lap, which turned out to be the little furball they were all searching for, Goshi and F/n finally got a good look at the Goshi-impostor.
“Isn’t this…?” Goshi started, noticing the similarities of the cat to the one he and F/n helped out the other night. Looking at F/n, who’s suspiciously looking away while whistling. “Didn’t I say not to bring it home!”
“Well, you didn’t say anything about forcibly removing it from his grip on your coat, though.” F/n countered.
The argument would have continued on for much longer if not for the unwavering stare of the twins towards Goshi and the cat that unnerved both Goshi and F/n.
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
Turning both their attention towards the twins, Yuzuki held out a pair of cat ears to Goshi. Not understanding what Yuzuki wanted, Goshi merely raised an eyebrow.
“I guess he wanted you to put them on.” Ryuji stated amusedly.
“Hah!! Who would–” Goshi began only to be interrupted by Yuta and Hikaru’s loud cheers of 'Double kitty-Goushi!’ and F/n’s 'Ah~ I want to see that~!’
Turning to look at F/n, what greeted Goshi is the sight of F/n’s large eyes looking at him hopefully accompanied by a little head tilt and the seemingly innocent words, “Won’t you do it for me?”
Now, this was already a deadly blow to Goshi’s resistance, but the twins decided to seal the deal by also looking at him with their big puppy dog eyes.
Knowing that he’s in a no-win situation, he reluctantly agreed but with the condition that no pictures would be taken. But F/n countered that he should atleast say 'Nya~’ in exchange.
Hesitant but knowing that he won’t be left alone if he refused, he decided to steel himself. With no turning back, cat-eared-Goshi breathes deeply before saying 'Nya~’ which was followed up by kitty-Goshi’s own enthusiastic one.
As everyone gushed at how cute both Goshi was, a heavily flushed Goshi barked at everyone to go back to their own floors.
F/n, after a minute or two of taking pictures of kitty-Goshi, reluctantly leaves the Goshi-clinging-kitty to said person. Though, Goshi very much have an unpleasant feeling that F/n is up to something when the latter said 'Good night’ with a mischievous light in her eyes.
💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫💫
Goshi woke up the next morning from muffled laughters and consistent chorus of 'Nya~’ coming from the living room. He wouldn’t have thought anything of it, if not for the fact that kitty-Goshi is currently sleeping cuddled up in his arms and that those 'Nya~’ suspiciously sounds very much like his own voice.
Charging into the living room, he was greeted by the sight of all the members huddled up together in the sofa with F/n at the center. They were all looking at something on F/n’s phone. And upon closer hearing, he confirmed that it was really his own voice saying those 'Nya~’.
“That’s – !!” Goshi started to only be cut off by F/n’s “Perfect timing! Come see my new app, Goshi!”
Going closer, Goshi was able to make out the chibi-figure of him with cat ears and tail on F/n’s phone screen that goes 'Nya~’ everytime it’s click upon.
Mortified, Goshi sputtered out the words, “How did you – !?” to F/n, who is pretty much widely grinning now.
“Well~ You did say not to take pictures… But you never said anything about not being allowed to record it, so~” F/n reminded with a seemingly innocent smile.
“No! Your smile is not going to help you! Delete it now!” Goshi declared.
“E-eh~ But I worked so hard on this.” F/n complained. “You wouldn’t make me delete something I’ve worked hard on, right?”
With F/n exploiting her best puppy dog eyes, Goshi couldn’t do anything else but to give in. “Tsk. You’re getting good at this.”
“Ehehe… Aren’t I good?” F/n smugly admitted that Goshi could only mutter, “That’s not something to be proud of.”

At another place, a video is playing.
Goshi: ….
Kento: You’re not planning on going back on your words – are you now, Goshi~?
Hikaru: Eh~ That’s no good. A man should always stick to his words! Right, Tatsu?
Tatsuhiro: Yes. Yes. So, sit down already, Hikaru.
Ryuji: Hmm~ I didn’t know Goshi is such a flake.
Tomohisa: Now, now, Ryuji. It’s rude to say that, even if it’s true.
Goshi: *annoyed* I get it! I get it! I’m doing it, so shut up already!
Goshi: ….
Goshi: *deep breath*
Goshi: Nya~ 😾

The Difference with GCF in Saipan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dFi8mStt2E
Okay I need to talk about this because something extremely interesting came up. I suggest watching the video first and if possible re-reading the Director’s review on GCFs too made by @thebangtankaijuu. The post will make more sense that way. I also would like to thank her for allowing me to quote her post ^^
This is essentially me thinking out loud. I am in no way saying I am right or anything. I just have some thoughts and would love to hear your thoughts as well. I have no problem whatsoever if someone disagrees with me or thinks I am wrong. No bother at all just say it in a respectful manner and we’re good fam.
So I have quoted the video and review here first and talk more towards the end. Let’s just point out a few things first.
At 4:42 Pd says “Jungkook chose a very different path to go with”. This would be in agreement with what our director friend (Dr) has said in his review. He noted that this was completely different than his other works and almost as if there are 2 stories. One he wanted to tell and one he ended up telling.
“It looks like this time he has omitted the story line and focused on the cinematography instead. This is in stark contrast to the previous video he posted.“  - Dr
“First of all, I don’t think this is the video that he originally intended to post. When I saw the preview he released I thought he would be continuing the narrative of his very first video (GCFt). This product is completely different. Looking at the preview, it seems like he had already finished the pre-final cut and was working on the post production, which is when he took the clip and shared it to the views, as a ‘teaser’. Naturally one would believe that the full video would be focused on the narrative he indicated in the preview, so I am quite surprised to see this result instead.” - Dr
He mentioned the significance of the cinematography rather than story line or narrative. I think most of us can agree there wasn’t very much story line, it was a well put together bunch of clips.
So we have 2 professionals telling us that this video is different. Okay.
Why?
1. The colour grading was off, which is his signature and what he knows how to do best.
2. It lacked narrative which all his other videos had and focused on the cinematography instead. Yet still there was an error in that.
“Now with Jungkook the thing I see most is he experiments a lot with colour grading” - Pd
And he indeed does, he said this in his V live. “Other than my colour grading I don’t have my unique thing.” - Jk
“and the colour grading here is a little all over the place, but it’s consistent” - Pd
“So it looks like Jungkook coloured it based on the sky and he wanted to make the sky look as rich and blue and beautiful as possible. But in doing so in certain lighting conditions it looks like he probably didn’t adjust the levels because in certain lighting conditions it either looks too blue ( mentions J-Hope’s car scene)……because if you look at the opening scene with V his skin is a little bit too pink but then when you move to Jimin it’s not that pink anymore”
Now let me fill in that ….. up there. Because I think this is it. This is how Jungkook speaks to us. Through his art.
Firstly I just want to say Jungkook is artistic. Extremely artistic, and not only that he’s shy too. Jungkook most definitely speaks through the medium of art (the Dr even mentioned this in Osaka I believe) and the predominant ones being cover songs and GCF. This is how he gets across his emotions. That is where some of the pushing and pulling comes from with GCF. Some Army’s say it’s just his hobby and to stop reading into it, and there are the others, not specifically just shippers, but they are included who believe Jungkook is trying to convey a message, After all if Jungkook just wanted to edit for fun why edit the way he did. In the comeback show he even said he edits to recharge himself. It’s how he relaxes, it’s his passion. And from watching the video you can clearly see how detail oriented he is. This is very important. Jungkook is no fool. But I digress.
I want you to read this next paragraph very carefully because I think he hit the nail on the head.
“…Jungkook’s colour grading was probably based on the shot with Jimin when he’s outside on the beach, that outside beach shot is much more over exposed it’s brighter so when you bring that colour scale inside the car (referencing Hobi’s scene) it’s a lot different it’s a lot bluer it’s like a harsher teal whereas when they are on the beach the colour looks the most clean, right so I think Jungkook probably graded only one scene and then applied it to the entire sequence. Because if you look at the opening scene with V his skin is a little too pink then when you move to Jimin it’s not that pink anymore you still see slight hints of it.” - Pd
So the colour grading was already decided for the scenes based on Jimin. If he had edited the video with all members first don’t you think he would have made sure that the colur grading suited the whole video and not just Jimins scenes? Is this just another coinsidence? How many are we on now? Four million and twelve? Riiiight. Anyway.
“But given how quickly he busted this out I feel like it was a choice, a deliberate choice he probably didn’t have time to go to each individual different coloured clips and then colour graded accordingly because that would take a lot more time I don’t know exactly what his thought process was but when it comes to editing everything is done with a purpose so I’m sure he noticed that V was way too pink, that in certain scenes the colour grading is off , but in his mind there was some sort of trade off he had to make and I am interested to see what that exactly is.”
I am so shocked with this. Okay so we, the producer and the director thought that Jungkook had made a video just for Jimin like GCFt and it was done and finished. That is why he teased the GCFs clip. It makes complete sense for many reasons. Jimin had the whole first verse and pre-chours in that teaser which would just throw the whole video off if included all members. 27 seconds of one member in an OT7 video? With no b roll seen and no other shots than Jimin? It just doesn’t make sense. Out director friends goes into details about why he thought it would have been a Jimin centric video just like, if not a continuation of GCFt.
I believe Jungkook shot edited and finalized a GCF in Saipan for Jimin. I do. I believe he edited it to make the sky strikingly blue as the majority of the film would have been Jimin by the sea with the sky in the background.
However, for some reason after teasing Jimin in Saipan he puts out GCF in USA…odd timing I have to say and then not too long after posts Saipan.
Now what are we to make of this?
I have 2 reasons. 1. No tinfoil ver 2. Tinfoil ver
1) No tinfoil
Jungkook had not finished editing Saipan. He teased it because Namjoon had asked him on Twitter about that exact moment as he had a video and Jungkook just posted a clip of that moment that Namjoon was referring to.
Jungkook then just felt like putting out a more OT7 GCF maybe as a present to his hyungs or was in the mood. He couldn’t release GCFs yet because it had not come out. So he gave us this to pass the time. Or he just felt like putting it out no big deal. The package was then released and he saw it as a good opportunity to make another OT7 centric vid. Simple.
But things are rarely so simple in life.
Hell it’s never simple!
Now here is a *warning* the next segment is 100% tinfoil. It is my own personal opinion and if you disagree with some or all of it I have no problem whatsoever just tell me in a nice and respectful manner please because I genuinely love to hear different sides to things. We good? okay let’s continue…
2) Tinfoil
Jimin and Jungkook’s black and white performance was taken down and they were more than probably told the behind the scenes would not be shown. Essentially their work is gone. Namjoon also knows this so posts a vid of Jimin and Jungkook innocently playing as a small form of solidarity for them or a little nod to them. The behind the scenes were coming out at that time.
Jungkook then says a big fuck you to Bighit and posts the teaser of Jimin for nearly 30s of a 2 and a half minute video laughing his ass off and Jimin thrusting and shaking his booty.
Now I ADORE Tae. I am not an anti let me make that crystal clear.  I adore Kim Taehyung. I do find it odd though that once that was posted Tae flooded and I mean flooded the timeline with videos and pics for the next 2 days almost as if trying to push the teaser down the timeline. You cannot deny the fact that we got spammed fam. And coincidentally juuuuust after Jk posts that clip.
I think some staff thought it may have been too much, and may and I say may not for definite but maaaaaay have told Jungkook to release something non Jimin centric to calm it down and then release the same vid but with the other members to dilute the seriousness of that video.
I don’t think you understand. That song. THAT SONG. If Jungkook had posted a GCF in Saipan with JUST Jimin, there would not be any questioning anymore. He got away with it being a clip and throwing in b-roll like Dr mentioned.
The Dr even said he did not intend to put out USA and Pd said that Saipan was rushed due the colour grading.
“Now I cannot judge his character for certain, but all of his videos up until now have shown me that he is someone who narrates his story to the truest form. The production of the third video indicates that he may have half-assed it. Despite the 70/20 focus I mentioned, he did not want to put this out. I’m thinking he had this prepared beforehand and released it now for some reason. Comparatively, the first video remains, to me, his strongest narrative. He wanted to show that film to the world. The second one could also be said the same, more or less, but he was clearly happier then than now.” - Dr USA
“But given how quickly he busted this out I feel like it was a choice, a deliberate choice he probably didn’t have time to go to each individual different coloured clips and then colour graded accordingly because that would take a lot more time I don’t know exactly what his thought process was but when it comes to editing everything is done with a purpose so I’m sure he noticed that V was way too pink, that in certain scenes the colour grading is off , but in his mind there was some sort of trade off he had to make and I am interested to see what that exactly is.”  - Pd
So we have an expert saying USA did not want to be put out and 2 experts saying Saipan was rushed. This really fits with the covering up a mistake theory.
And you might ask what is the big deal? It was just a clip its not outting anyone. But you see we don’t officially know if they’re together. When you know or you believe that 2 ppl are together you notice things. Damn you notice everything and just go “OMG could they NOT BE SO LOUD LIKE AHHH glass closet approach much?”. But to others they don’t see any of that. Like, at all.
This teaser however was flat out dangerous. I have seen Taekook stans being converted and that was because of the edited version of GCFs. Imagine a whole video of Jimin with THAT SONG!!! GO AND RE READ THOSE LYRICS RIGHT NOW THAT IS AS BLATANT AS YOU CAN GET.
So it is my opinion that as a mini revenge or more likely a substitute for Black or White not being released Jungkook released a teaser to a Jimin centric GCF in Saipan he had already finished.
This was much more dangerous than he expected and he was told to put out something to calm the waters and then edit that particular video to dilute the situation and cover his tracks. That matches up with Dr and Pd comments also.
And in this video in order to get across what he wanted to say he left the colour grading matching Jimin. He left is signature matching Jimin  to let us know in his own way this is not the video I wanted to make, look closely thiiiis one is. By allowing Tae’s skin to be pink and Hobi to be too magenta he is indirectly telling us that these clips don’t belong in this video. These people don’t. It is really for Jimin.
Now you might ask “well what about Namjoon and Hobi at the end? The colour grading was fine for them? What’s that mean then?” Well firstly it’s midday so the lighting is perfect but also because Jimin was in that scene too. Evey scene that Jimin was in was coloured perfectly to match. Namjoon and Hobi just happened to be colour graded right because of the sun and the fact it was the same place as Jimin.
Jeon Jungkook is using his skills in editing and in particular colour grading to let us know he had intended a video for Jimin like GCF on Tokyo. He is so intelligent wow.

The Great Blank Spot: @highestkingbambi
So much goes into creating fanfiction even before the first words hit the paper. And in-depth spotlight on our writers and the process behind their work.
Tumblr media
Tell us about your current project.
I’m currently working on a multi-chapter hardboiled style fic that I have called The Lamb in the Wolfskin Coat. Set in late 1940s Los Angeles, it follows Margo Hanson, a PI, and her assistant Eliot Waugh as they look into the disappearance of Quentin Coldwater. It’s one great big Alternate Universe that features many characters from the shows and books in a hopefully suspenseful and interesting story.
We’re well into the creation period for The Trials. Are you participating? If so, is this your submission? What Tier did you select?
This is my fic for The Trials, though I did start conceptualizing and wrote the first couple of chapters prior to the official start. I decided to keep it for The Trials as I’m not the most consistent writer and needed a hard deadline to finish the whole thing.
I selected Tier 2 for this story. As soon as I started putting it together I knew it would need more than 25,000 words to tell the story.
What is your current word count?
As of posting, I’m at 29,004 words and I still have a few chapters to go.
Do you try to write daily? Do you have a word count or other goals you try to hit for each writing session?
I do try to write daily, but it doesn’t always work out that way. When I first started, I had a goal to write 1,500 words per week but I haven’t stuck to that. Some days I’ll write 2-3k other days all I can do is open the document.
What was the inspiration for this fic?
The entirety of the blame for this fic lies with @gwendolynflight. Just kidding, but for real, she started talking about a fic of hers in a similar genre and all of a sudden the seed was planted in my brain and I just couldn’t stop thinking about it. I’ve also taken a few cues from some classic and modern hard-boiled/noir books and movies including but not limited to The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, Notorious, and The Black Dahlia.
Did this fic require any research? How much research do you typically do for your fics?
So much research! As V can attest, I have gone on long-winded research journeys into elements as varied as 1940s dry cleaning processes to the cost of a ballpoint pen. I know for a fact that I’m not going to get everything right, but I have tried to be as accurate as I can to make the story feel authentic.
How do you stay motivated between chapters/stories?
A large amount of my motivation for this fic, in particular, has been the support and encouragement of other writers in The Magicians fandom. Without that, I probably would have given up a long time ago. Another huge motivation has been the WIP of some of the artwork my Trials partner has shared with me so far. It’s stunning and I’m so excited for us to share it with everyone once we’re done.
Outside of fandom, I try to stay motivated by surrounding myself with inspiration material, cosplaying as some of my characters. (Yes, I do own a fedora and a trench coat--no shame.) My husband is also a great motivator and by great motivator I mean he’s constantly nagging me about how much I’ve written and gets me off my ass to write some more.
[Outside of the Trials] Do you typically write ahead or post as you go?
I am not great at multi-chapter fics. In the past, I have gone out guns blazing, posting as I finish each chapter and it has not gone well, to say the least. I’m trying to write ahead now, as I still have one WIP sitting unfinished on AO3 because I ran out of steam and after a tea related accident, I no longer have my outline or any idea what I was supposed to be writing.
How much planning and outlining did you do before you started putting words on paper?
I’m not a planner. I get a rough idea of what I want, maybe write a handful of notes and then go full steam ahead on the first draft. With this fic, I did write a more in-depth outline after I had written about 10,000 words, but since then I have changed so much that the outline is basically a different story altogether. As a visual person, I mostly conceive of the work in images, which doesn’t always translate well to a rough written outline.
Has it been pretty smooth sailing or rough waters? When things get rocky, how do you handle needing to rewrite sections or scrap scenes entirely?
A mix of both. Some chapters have been super easy to write, with the words I put down matching exactly what I have in my mind, others have...not been so easy. One of my biggest challenges has been maintaining Margo’s voice in a wholly different universe to canon and essentially whenever I lose that, my writing stalls.
I can be pretty ruthless with writing that I don’t like and if it’s not working, I’ll cut it and leave a copy in my outline in case I need it later on. I’m leaving a lot of that to the very end though, I’m trying not to be too nitpicky with my edits while I’m still working on the draft so that I don’t end up too sidetracked--I already have enough of that with the research.

Finding a reporter in Los Angeles was almost as easy as finding an aspiring actor. In a city where films were made and gangsters ruled, there was never a shortage of stories, or someone to write them down. The problem was finding someone objective. Freedom of the press only went so far as their freedom to take bribes from Jack Warner to Mickey Cohen and every asshole in between. With her gut telling her that the Quinn case had something to do with Quentin Coldwater’s disappearance, Margo didn’t need information from someone with a mysterious backer. She needed someone she could trust. Unfortunately for her, the most objective reporter in Los Angeles didn’t like private detectives.
