Dropped (Becca x MC) Part 2
Hey guys, thank you for the support on the first part of this series (Yess I’m planning to turn it into a mini series). It was hard to write just because I could feel Emily’s heartbreak throughout this chapter but I know a lot of you thrive on the pain like I do 🥲🥲. This chapter might be a tad boring for your taste since I’m kinda setting the scene for the next part but I still hope you enjoy. Let me know what you guys think and I’d really appreciate feedback/constructive criticism.
tag list: @wlwplaychoices  @alexlabhont @woltk @alexroyard @red-queen1013 ( including those who reblogged and replied to the 1st part. If you want to be included in the tag list just let me know ☺️)
Read Part 1
Pairing: Becca x MC (Emily)
Word Count: 1742
Warnings: Some swearing
You don't love me anymore, do you?
Emily quickly gathered her things as well as some of her clothes, not wanting to spend a second more in that room than she needed to. She dialed Kaitlyn's number as she walked away from the place she had called home for almost a year. She was now crying full-blown tears with her hand covering her mouth as passersby looked at her with sympathy. Kaitlyn picked up on the third ring.
"Hey, Em— Are you crying?"
"Can I stay with you for a while? I just had to get out of there. I'm sorry. I don't know where else to go."
"Hey, hey, of course, you can. Where are you right now? Do you want me to pick you up?" Kaitlyn said gently, her voice full of concern.
"No, it's okay. I can get there on my own."
The walk to Kaitlyn's apartment was a blur. Emily vaguely remembered someone calling out to her, but she was too busy replaying the last few hours to even notice.
When Emily arrived at Kaitlyn's apartment, Kaitlyn immediately pulled her in for a hug.
"Hey, what happened? Did you and Becca get into a fight?"
Emily nodded, unable to speak as tears were now falling uncontrollably down her face. After some time, Kaitlyn pulled away and gently guided Emily to the couch, and fetched her a glass of water.
"Whatever happened between the two of you, I'm sure you'll be able to fix it," Kaitlyn said comfortingly as she gently rubbed Emily's back.
"No, I don't think we can fix it this time." A fresh set of tears emerged. "You should have seen her face, Kaitlyn. She... she... she looked at me like I was..." Unable to finish the sentence, Emily buried her face in her hands, sobbing.
"Oh, Emily." Kaitlyn pulled her in for another hug. They stayed like that for a while until Emily's cries died down to quiet sobs.
"I'm sorry. I think I ruined your shirt," Emily said weakly.
"Eh. It's not my style anyway. I was actually just about to burn it when you came," Kaitlyn jested, attempting to lighten the mood. Emily managed a weak smile.
"Are you feeling better?" Kaitlyn said softly.
Emily nodded.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Emily shook her head. "I think I just need to lie down for a while."
"Let's get you to bed then."
"It's okay. I can sleep here on the couch."
"Nonsense. I'm not leaving you here like that. Come on."
Kaitlyn smiled gently at Emily as she took her hand and guided her to the bedroom. "You can stay here for as long as you need to."
"Thank you, Kaitlyn," Emily murmured, tired from all the crying. After she had settled into bed, Emily took out her phone and stared at the wallpaper as a lone tear ran down her cheek. It was a photo of her and Becca with Becca's arm wrapped around her waist and Becca's lips pressed against her cheek. Emily released a trembly breath as she turned off her phone and drifted off to sleep. — "Why the long face?" Becca asked, wrapping Emily in her arms.
"Just a tiring day is all," Emily replied, melting into the embrace.
"I know what'll make you feel better. How about I go out and buy your favorite ice cream real quick, and then we can watch any movie you want. How's that sound?"
"Really? You'd do that for me?"
"I'd do anything for you. In all honesty, though, I'd rather do things to you," Becca teased.
Emily giggled and playfully smacked Becca. "You're terrible."
"One more thing. Give me your phone."
"Why?" Emily asked as she hesitantly handed her phone to Becca. Becca then shifted behind Emily and wrapped her arm around her waist as she pressed her lips on Emily's cheek, taking a photo. Becca made a series of taps on her phone until Emily was greeted with a new wallpaper.
"So that when you're having a bad enough day, you can just look at your phone and remember that at the end of the day, someone will be waiting for you at home, someone who loves you so crazy much." —
Emily woke up late in the morning when she faintly heard Kaitlyn speaking on the phone outside. "—I don't think she'll want to talk to you anyway... Yeah, I will. Don't worry."
Kaitlyn came back to the room minutes later. "Hey, you're up."
"Yeah. Was that..."
Kaitlyn looked at Emily apologetically. "You heard, huh?"
"What did she want?"
"She wanted to talk to you. She sounded really sorry, Em."
Emily sighed. "I don't think I can talk to her yet."
Kaitlyn nodded understandingly. "Take as much time as you need to. By the way, I know you have class a while ago, but I wasn't sure if I should wake you up. Sorry."
"It's okay. I wasn't planning on going anyway."
"I have classes soon, but I can stay here if you want," Kaitlyn said sympathetically.
"No, you should go. Don't worry, I'll be fine," Emily replied with a weak smile.
"Alright. But text me if you need anything. There's food in the fridge and feel free to use the shower. What's mine is yours. I'll be back soon." Kaitlyn gave Emily a quick hug before heading out.
***
Becca's POV
Becca glanced at the clock- 11 AM. Her head was pounding as she recalled the previous night's events.
"Ughh. I'm never gonna drink again," she muttered to herself.
She glanced around the room and noticed that the sheets beside her remained untouched. She managed to get out of bed and walked out of the room sluggishly.
"Babe? Yesterday I-" She looked around the apartment and found that it was empty. Oh, right it's Monday. She's probably in class.
Becca went back to their bedroom and as her eyes adjusted, she noticed that half of Emily's things were gone. She immediately opened Emily's closet and found that some of her clothes were missing. At that moment, she knew she fucked up.
Becca quickly charged her dead phone and as soon as it lit up, several texts and voicemails from yesterday popped up. They were from Emily. Crap. Becca immediately dialed Emily's number but it went straight to voicemail. Becca paced around the room as she recalled their fight yesterday and it just dawned on her how serious it was. She remembered Emily shouting at her and oh god she looked so heartbroken. Rebecca Davenport, you stupid bitch. Becca then proceeded to call Kaitlyn.
"Hey Kaitlyn, have you seen Emily?" "Yeah, she went here crying last night. What happened, Becca? She was a mess." "I fucked up. Is she with you right now? I really need to talk to her." "She's still asleep, and I don't think she'll want to talk to you anyway." "Can you at least tell her I'm sorry? Just please make sure she's okay." "Yeah, I will. Don't worry."
***
Emily's POV
"You have to eat something."
"I'm not hungry."
"And I'm not gonna let you starve to death."
"Well, there are worse ways to go."
Kaitlyn sighed. "Okay, that's it. We're gonna talk about this now. What the hell happened between you two?"
Emily bit her lip. "We were supposed to celebrate our anniversary, but then she forgot. Instead, she went home hours later, drunk. Then we got into this huge fight. Most times I feel like she's just sick of me. Like... she doesn't love me anymore."
"Did she tell you that?"
"No. She doesn't even wanna talk anymore. And honestly, I'm tired of being a doormat at my own home."
"So, is that it? Are you gonna break up with her?"
"Yes. No. I don't know. What do you think I should do?"
"I can't make that decision for you, Em. But one thing's for sure. You have to talk to her before you make one." —
Emily decided that she could no longer run from her responsibilities. She turned on her phone and was immediately greeted by several texts. Some were from James but most were from Becca. Emily sighed, putting the phone in her pocket.
When she arrived at the university, Emily first went to check in on James. As James saw her approach, he stood up with concern in his eyes.
"Em, we were so worried about you. You weren't answering your phone."
"Sorry. Got caught up in something."
"Yeah... I uhh ran into Becca yesterday. She told me you guys got into a fight?"
Emily nodded. "You said that you were assigning me an article to write this week?" Emily asked, changing the subject.
"Right. But you don't have to, I can get someone else to do it."
"No, I want to."
"Okay then. Well, the only article left is about--
James paused to look at a piece of paper and his eyes widened.
"Like I said, you don't have to-"
You snatched the paper from James, suddenly furious.
College Relationships. Great. Just my luck.
"We can change it. I'm sure someone else-"
"It's fine, James. And I don't appreciate you treating me like a fragile piece of glass. I said I'm fine." Emily snapped.
Emily walked away before James had a chance to speak. —
Emily was running with her laptop in her hands with Becca in hot pursuit.
"Come on just a little peek."
Emily giggled as Becca caught up to her hugging her from behind.
"Hey! Why'd you close it?"
"You'll be the first to read it when I'm done, I promise."
"Well, it better be worth it," Becca said as she turned Emily around. She cupped her face and pulled her in for a slow and deep kiss. Emily broke up the kiss and touched her forehead with Becca's.
"It is."
Back in Kaitlyn's apartment, Emily stared at the blank screen, thinking of what to write or how to even start.
This is ridiculous.
Emily stood up and grabbed her jacket and strode across the room towards the door
"Em? Where are you going?"
"I'm gonna talk to Becca," Emily said with a determined look on her face. — Emily was walking on the sidewalk towards their apartment when a familiar figure caught her attention. As she turned to look inside a bar, all the time in the world couldn't have prepared her for the hurt that was to follow. Emily grabbed the wall for support as she watched the woman she love kiss someone else.

when i got into the accident, the sight that flashed before me was your face
Book: Foreign Affairs
Pairing: Tatum Mendoza x f!MC (Clara James)
Words: 1.9k
Warnings: very mild violence
Summary: While Tatum’s away at a security meeting, Clara sneaks out to a party. On her way back, she runs into trouble. (Worried!Tatum. Cuddling!)
Technically this is a series, but you don’t have to read the others to enjoy Protective!Tatum. :)
evermore series part 4 ✨ Previous // Next ✨
Life went on as usual. Mostly. Tatum and I went back to rarely speaking. I went back to trying to keep my grades up, maintaining good relationships with my fellow students, and staying away from the media.
I could feel his eyes on me all the time. I was hyper aware of his presence, wanting desperately to reach out to him, but knowing that I couldn’t. The only time I got away from him was when I was in the library with Blaine, which Tatum did not appreciate. Occasionally Tatum would have to meet up with some of the other security on campus, in which case, he would make me stay in my suite.
He had made good points. I knew it would be a national scandal if we got together. I knew it would affect both of our careers. But, I couldn’t help the way I felt about him, especially since that night he kissed me. I couldn’t stop thinking about the way he held me, like I was the most important thing in the world.
“Clara?” Tatum leaned against the door frame of my room.
I looked up from my textbook that I was clearly not reading. It was still easier to not respond to him most of the time. I felt like what he said that night everything changed: if I started talking, I didn’t think I would be able to stop until I spilled my guts all over the ground at his feet.
“I have a security meeting tonight. Stay out of trouble, okay?”
I rolled my eyes, dropping my head to look at the open textbook on my lap.
He let out an exasperated sigh. I knew I was upsetting him with my silence. Good. Now he knows how I felt all those weeks. “Just promise me you’ll stay here? Please?”
“Okay,” I said finally, refusing to look up.
He was lingering; I could see it out of the corner of my eye. Maybe he was hurting, too. A pang of guilt rose in my chest before I squashed it down. I wasn’t the one who wouldn’t give us a chance.
Finally, he said, “Okay. Bye, Clara.”
His retreading footsteps made my heart drop a little. I was constantly hoping he would just come over to me someday and change his mind. Say that he loved me. That he wanted to be with me. But, I knew that would never happen.
A little while later, Dionne came into my room, a mischievous smile lighting up her face. “What are you up to?”
“Drowning in my sorrows,” I deadpanned.
She laughed. “That’s tragic. You miss your hot bodyguard?”
“Only always,” I shot her a sad smile. “What’s up?”
“I have come with a solution to your troubles! A party!”
“A party is the solution to my troubles?” I asked, skeptically.
“It sure is. Come on, you need to let loose. You’ve been down in the dumps forever.”
“I shouldn’t. Tatum’s gone at that security thing and I promised I would stay here until he’s back.”
“You mean the Tatum that broke your heart? Come on, you need to have some fun. The party is on campus, you’ll be fine. Plus, Murph will be coming of course.”
I took a moment to think about the consequences. I had gone to parties before, and there had never been any problems. Especially since there would be other security there…
“Alright, fine, I’m in,” I conceded.
“Yes!” Dionne grinned. “Okay, be ready to go in 30 minutes.”
~~~
The party was in full swing by the time we got there. Dionne and I made our way through the crowd, talking to everyone we came across to keep up good alliances. I was trying to have a good time, but honestly, my heart still wasn’t in it. Even making fun of Blaine wasn’t as amusing as it usually was. I stayed around for a while, trying to have a good time, but after a few hours, I just wanted to crash back at the suite with a book.
I found my way back to Dionne, and told her that I was going back to the suite.
“Alone? You sure?” she asked, skeptically.
“It’s a five minute walk, I’ll be fine,” I assured her.
“I don’t know,” she said. “Maybe you should ask Blaine to walk you back? You know that he would do it.”
I sighed. That probably would be better than going alone. Just in case.
Glancing around the room, I found Blaine, already looking my way. I wandered over to him. “Hey. I’m going to go back to my room. My bodyguard isn’t here...I was wondering if you would mind walking me back quickly? Just to be safe?”
He smirked. “Oh, you finally ditched the guy, huh? Good for you. Yeah, no problem, Clara.”
“Thanks,” I said, ignoring his first comment.
The two of us walked for a few minutes in comfortable silence, when suddenly, Blaine stopped, putting his arm out in front of me to block my path.
“What-”
“Shh!” he scolded, then nodded his head in front of us, where a guy was ducking behind some bushes not far from us. It seemed like he may have been looking in our direction, but it was difficult to tell in the dark.
“What do you think he’s doing?” I whispered. “What do we do?”
Blaine shook his head slightly, unsure.
I strained my eyes to see what the man was doing, only to find that he was coming closer now. Fast.
“Blaine-” I said, starting to panic.
Before I could react, the man was right in front of me, grabbing my shoulders in a tight grip.
I screamed, pushing his chest back as hard as I could, but he wouldn’t budge. I was dimly aware of Blaine trying to rip the guy off of me, but it wasn’t working. I thought of Tatum, how he would be able to protect me if I had just listened to him. If he were here.
Then, as quickly as the man grabbed me, he was gone.
I blinked, and there was Tatum, pinning the man to the ground, yelling into his monitor for backup. Almost immediately, three other security guards showed up, dragging the man to who knows where. It was so fast, it was as if I had dreamed it, dreamed that Tatum came to my rescue. But no, he was really here, frantic eyes searching my body, his hands coming up to cup my face.
“Clara, are you okay?”
“I- I’m okay,” I squeaked, not able to form any other kind of coherent sentence.
He was breathing heavily, eyes still raking over my body like he wouldn’t believe it.
“Clara, I’m sorry I couldn’t-” Blaine started to say, but he didn’t get to finish.
“Leave.” Tatum spat over his shoulder at him, only taking his eyes off me for a moment.
Wisely, Blaine obeyed, walking back toward the party and shooting me an apologetic glance.
Tatum wrapped me up in his arms then, holding me closer than I think he ever had before. He bent down, tucking his face into the crook of my neck.
“Clara,” he mumbled against my skin, like it was all he could say.
I cried into his suit as he held me, practically collapsing into his arms to the point where he had to hold me up so I wouldn’t hit the ground.
Eventually, he slowly rose to his full height, keeping one arm wrapped around my waist as he walked us back to my room. I watched his eyes dart around as they always did, but this time it seemed elevated somehow.
He didn’t even let go as he sat me down on my bed. He sat next to me, his leg and shoulder against mine, and rested his hand on my thigh. It was like he was scared I was going to disappear if he didn’t hold onto me. We sat in silence for a while, his eyes on me the whole time.
“I’m sorry,” I said finally, looking at my hands in my lap, trying to keep from crying.
“What?” he said quietly.
“I should’ve listened to you. You told me to stay here and I didn’t. I promised. God, I’m so stupid,” I said. I felt a tear roll down my cheek and quickly wiped it away.
“You’re not stupid,” he said, squeezing my leg lightly.
“I went to a party,” I admitted. “Dionne wanted me to go because she said I’ve been so sad lately. She thought it would help, but I was miserable there, too, so I wanted to leave early.”
“With Blaine,” he grumbled.
I shook my head. “Dionne suggested I ask him to walk me back so I wouldn’t be alone.”
Tatum didn’t say anything. He just ran his thumb back and forth on my thigh.
“Who was that guy?” I asked, turning to look at him for the first time. “What did he want?”
“I don’t know,” he said gently, wiping a tear from my cheek with his thumb. “Campus security is figuring that out right now.”
“I’m sorry,” I said again, my voice breaking.
He pulled me into a hug, cradling my head with his hand. “Shh, don’t be sorry. It’s okay. You’re okay, Clara. I’ve got you.”
“I thought of you,” I mumbled into his shoulder. “When he grabbed me, the first thing I thought of was you. And you still managed to save me even though you weren’t even supposed to be there.”
“I’ll always be there when you need me.” He ran his hand up and down my back soothingly, pressing his lips to my hair.
“You should be pissed at me,” I whimpered.
“The bodyguard in me should be, yeah. But I wasn’t, I was just scared. I’m glad you’re okay. I just need you to be okay.”
“I’m okay. Because of you.”
He kissed my head before standing up, giving me a look so full of affection and worry that my heart somersaulted.
“Get comfy,” he said suddenly, like an order.
“What?”
“You just had an unbelievably horrible night. Get into your comfy pajamas, I’ll be back in five minutes.”
I dutifully got up as soon as he closed the door behind him, changing into my fuzziest pajama pants and a t-shirt before climbing into bed.
A light knock sounded on my door a few moments later, before Tatum opened it cautiously. “You decent?”
“Mhmm,” I said, my eyelids already growing heavy.
He shut the door behind him as he entered, wearing a tight black t-shirt and grey sweatpants. Despite everything that had happened, I couldn’t help but stare at his biceps now that I could actually see them. But before I had time to properly drool over him, he climbed into bed behind me, wrapping his arms around my middle and nuzzling his face into my neck.
“You’re staying here? Shouldn’t you be, you know, on alert?”
“I can protect you from here,” he murmured, kissing my neck lightly. “If that’s okay with you.”
I scooted back a little bit, reveling in the feeling of his strong chest against my back. “Yeah. That’s more than okay with me.”
It didn’t take long until I drifted to sleep to the sound of his breathing, feeling more at home than I had since coming to Vancross.
HARRY ZHONG (MITCHELL-WHITE)
IG info/bio: @/heedful.harry | 15.6k followers| hi, I’m Harry and I’m a business major. No, You don’t have to hold your applause 🧐
21 years old
From York, England
Cancer sun + ARIES MOON energy
He and his younger brother, Archie were foster children in the Mitchell-white household
which consisted: Harrison Mitchell and his daughter from a previous marriage, Briony, Piers White and together they had a surrogate carry their child, which gave them their second daughter, Pippa
Later they came to the decision to adopt Harry and Archie Zhong, if only that’s what they wanted too
It took longer for Harry to warm up to the family since he was still waiting and wishing for his mom to come back for them
He was diagnosed with IED around 15 years old
Goes to therapy for it and meetings with others with similar issues...he dreads the meetings since it makes him feel like he has a problem or something, which HE DOES but it makes him feel like a...but he knows that’s a ignorant way to think
He’s currently a business major and loves telling people about it *yawn* (don’t drag me lmao)
He’s thinking he’ll be a Financial analyst or a Marketing manager
The type of person who’s done a lot in his short life that it’s often unbelievable ex.) telling the villa he’s driven one of the cars that was used in the fast and furious franchise & getting pissed when bill and everyone else didn’t believe him
Harrison is a train driver and is normally bubbly + wears bright preppy clothes
He also loves Broadway, much to Harry’s annoyance...if he hears one more Hamilton song he’s gonna slam his head thru a wall stg
Piers is a music producer and is more reserved or “stand-off-ish” until he gets warmed up to you + his aesthetic is a rocker, yeah he’s got the whole tattoos and boots thing going for him, after all he was in a rock band
Piers makes the most $ and is of high status, which brought him and his family perks but is not a snob about it...it’s whatever ya know?
Harry’s closer to piers, feels he understands him more & can be kinda rude to Harrison when he’s in one of his moods but tries to be better at responding to him since he made him cry once years ago — yes he felt like complete shit afterwards
Harry is anemic so he always finds himself cold, experiencing fatigue, irregular heartbeat, and if he gets up too fast or moves too fast? Let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the—FLOOO000R! (I’m making this joke as a person with anemia)
Likes cold weather since everyone else can feel what he feels on the daily
Plus he loves dressing for winter season, trench coats, wool coats, turtle necks, thermal t-shirts, fleece pants, rolled up beanies that keeps his ears covered and his hair glued to his forehead...you name it!
On the regular? He’s a khaki’s kinda guy, dress shirts, and loves wearing suit and ties...he’s not the biggest fan of jeans. He loves dressing fancy unless the measurements are bloody awful
I’m going by the alternative design for Harry and...whew! Then he’s 6’1 if we’re talking about the one they gave us then we all know he has a baby face, so I’d say he’s about 5’8
He’s got long legs + arms and hates how majority of his pants barely fit around his ankles
has dry scalp too
I feel like he’s pretty intelligent and sometimes it can come off as a know it all, yet, he’s always down to help people & isn’t condescending while doing so
He knows how to make soaps and would sell them on his etsy account in highschool where plenty shat on him for it so for awhile he stopped the hobby until Harrison encouraged him to keep at this if it was what makes him happy
Harrison is the type of parent you go to for comfort and hugs even if it might feel like he’s smothering you
Piers is the one who lets you come to him when you’re ready to talk about it, no pressure
Harry went to a high school that focused on technology so he’s all into the latest gadgets
This is a secret but he only got a apple watch to feel like a true spy
His intelligence got him somewhere with a few ladies ;)
He’s a certified freak, 7 days a week and had a handful of hookups and about 4 gfs in his life so far
He’s kinky!!!
& has a f**t fetish
His past relationships were not long relationships, which sucked but Harry felt like...this might sound arrogant, but it’s either their lost — although there was never any bad blood with his breakups! or his person was still out there somewhere...
I haven’t fully played his route (AJ stole my ass since I couldn’t romance seb or Nicky sorry) but I’ve seen screen caps and he’s a total sweetie if he’s really committed to you, you might be his “true love”
He’s nervous opposed to his usual confidence when he’s chatting to other ladies with ease, with you it’s different, it’s magnetic, nerve-wrecking, butterflies, electric, and exciting all wrapped in one
I feel like he shows his love language with quality time but also enjoys physical touch from his partner
Picky eater
But he was worst as a child! Barely ate anything which led to him being lanky or it’s in his genes but mostly he wouldn’t eat a damn thing
These are a few of his favorite things: figs, green tea, and almond milk
makes the best spring rolls with the rice paper, those are superior than fried! “Fried food will kill u u know!” “Okay bill.” “Iona, don’t know if u had too much to drink but, erm I’m Harry.” “R/WHOOOOssssh! And you’re s’pposed to be the smart one, yeah right.”
outside of the villa he found himself continuing his friendship with bill—even tho he pisses him off sometimes since he’s always got some shit to say but they’re probably the closest, Iona she’s always honest and is always a good time to be around when they hang out, Then there’s Camilo and Miki that he hangs out with too
Is the first one sharing about his day in the group chat with all of the villa, he can feel half of them rolling their eyes at him since many feel he tends to exaggerate
if he’s not endgame with mc...he kinda feels a way that Genevieve found her happiness in seb instead of him, it’s not that he’s bitter—he genuinely liked her and felt like maybe they didn’t try hard enough but deep down knows relationships can’t be forced. It’s just his ego trying to control things that’s all! plus he was comfortable with vieve even if it felt more on a platonic side...oh well
once slid into jen from s1’s dms one dark stormy drunk night & admitted on live that erikah kinda gave him some tips before going on the show... & that he thought one of the new girls that entered the villa was a better fit than one of the originals from s2 which caused him to get blocked by said original OOP
Has a circle of close friends outside of the villa, they’re all brainiacs and have something going for themselves
Enjoys action films and biographical drama films like: James Bond, John Wick, and the social network
Isn’t ashamed to admit that he loves using sheet face masks but isn’t the greatest at following a consistent skincare routine
Has his own back massager that he spent a lot of $ on since it wouldn’t go on sale and then a week later...it went on sale
sends a lot of “🙃🙂” texts when you piss him off
probably worked at GameStop, the apple store, Godiva, and currently works at a electronic repair shop for a side of cash but is looking for a internship since he’ll be graduating next year
Always Keeps cough drops on him?
is a huge cuddler & falls asleep easily
His brain is always active, experiences REM sleep often
fav video games are tekken & hitman
owns a drone now 😏
also loves strategic board games & riddles
Took quarantine life seriously, did his research before it completely broke globally and started buying shit excessively in person and online that he sent most to his family before the campus shut down
Is the friend that will check on his friends :)
Keeps his dorm and his room back home CLEAN af, is OCD about everything being in order/organized. Will know if you touched his shit, Archie felt his wrath many times before
Has a life goal board in his closet, & plans to be fully established by 25. More power to ya Harry!
Celeb crushes: Victoria justice, Jesy Nelson, Deepika Padukone, Brec Bassinger, jasmine tookes, and princess Mae
Who does he listen to? oceanfromtheblue, Galimatias, Ta-Ku, Aries, Tyler, the creator, rich Brian, NIKI, viji, & AJR
The first thing Naomi notices when she crosses the threshold to Ethan’s apartment is that it smells amazing. A delicious aroma wafts from the kitchen and she has to stop herself from drooling at the scent.
This is the second time this week that she’s been at his apartment, though this time Ethan promises that there will be no surprise interruptions. And this makes Naomi anxious, because the last time she was here, Ethan kissed her, multiple times, and promised that they’d talk. And with a little over a year of knowing the older attending under her belt, Naomi knows that Ethan Ramsey is a puzzle and he’s constantly pulling the rug out from under her feet. So her guard is up, despite wanting to be able to relax in his presence.
Ethan greets her at the door, out of his formal work clothes and now in a simple t-shirt and blue jeans.
“Naomi, hi.” His eyes sweep over her form, and he tries not to get fixated on the way her dark blue sweater hugs every curve on her body. “You look great.”
“Thank you.”
“It smells amazing in here.” Once she’s inside and her shoes are at the door, Naomi stands on her tiptoes, peering into the kitchen. She sees a huge skillet and a pot on the stove, but it gives her no answers. “Can I know what you’re cooking, or are you going for an element of surprise?”
“Chicken, sautéed in peppers, yellow rice and roasted asparagus. Do you have any objections about the menu?”
“It sounds delicious.” She stops at his kitchen island and takes a seat at one of the barstools.
“Do you want something to drink? I have pretty much everything.”
“What’s the best wine in your collection?” Naomi asks. “I’d like a glass of that.”
Ethan turns around and goes to rummage in his pantry. “I have a very expensive bottle that a patient gifted Naveen a while back. Her rich “boyfriend” owns a vineyard in Napa, and after we solved her case, she had him send Naveen quite a few bottles. He gave me one.”
He rinses out two glasses and pours the expensive Chardonnay.
“Air quotes around the word boyfriend leads me to assume he was her sugar daddy.”
“Her very married sugar daddy,” Ethan adds. “Splitting his time between Napa and New England.”
“Scandalous.”
“His vineyard makes excellent wine, though.”
Naomi takes a sip and instantly agrees with Ethan. The smooth liquid is delicious. “Mhmm, I can taste the vanilla.”
“You have excellent taste for a 27 year old.”
“It’s a cross I have to bear,” Naomi teases with a giggle. “Do you need any help with dinner?”
“No. You’re my guest, you just sit there and relax.”
She leans across the counter and watches as Ethan expertly chops up jalapeño peppers.
“I’m not used to being in a kitchen and not helping,” Naomi says with a sigh. “I used to practically study my mom and grandma growing up.”
“Oh, so you like to cook too?”
“I love it. I love food. Every Sunday after church, we’d go to my grandparents’ house for football and dinner.”
“What’s your favorite thing to cook?” Ethan asks. Naomi doesn’t talk much about her life before Edenbrook, and he’s curious.
“My grandma has a recipe for pot roast and garlic mashed potatoes that will make you cry.”
“Oh yeah? What’s the secret?”
“It’s for Valentine women only, mister. My mom didn’t get the recipe until she and my dad had been married for 10 years.”
“It’s that serious?”
Naomi nods. “Super serious. She’s really protective over her recipes, and she wants the rest of the family to be just as guarded. My uncle once suggested she write a cookbook, and she nearly tore him a new one.”
Ethan notes the sparkle in her eye as she talks about her family and he can’t help but to smile. “Okay, since you’re the expert, I’ll let you help me.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
“Yay! But first, I cannot cook in silence. We’re going to need some music.”
“In the living room, next to the window, I have a record player. Pick whatever you’d like.”
“A record player?” Naomi slides off the barstool and rushes to the living room. “You’re an old soul.”
“I like records. I think they’re cooler than CDs.”
Naomi browses through his selection of vinyls. He had a mixture of a lot of different artists and genres: Billie Holiday, Michael Jackson, Prince, David Bowie, Queen, James Brown, Nina Simone, The Beatles. There was even some classical music by Beethoven thrown into the collection.
She settles on Billie. “You have good taste, Doctor Ramsey.”
Soon she’s back in the kitchen, hands washed, sleeves rolled up, and hair pulled back. They settle into a comfortable routine. She minces garlic as Ethan gets the rice started.
Ethan enjoys her presence in his kitchen. There’s no tension in the air, the silence isn’t deafening, and Naomi moves around with ease and confidence, as if the space was made just for her. He chooses to ignore the way his pulse speeds up at the thought.
With two people helping, it doesn’t take long for dinner to be served. Ethan tops off their wine, fixes two plates, and moves them into his formal dining area.
“I had no idea this little dining area was tucked back here,” Naomi says, looking around. “Just how huge is this apartment? Does it have a second floor that I’m not aware of?”
Ethan rolls his eyes at her wide cracks. “No second floor. But it’s a 3 bedroom.”
“3? How did I not notice that?”
“Well the last time you were here we only stayed in the kitchen. And the time before that we–”
 He stops himself before he can finish the sentence. The time before the last, they barely stayed in the living room for a few minutes before Ethan was dragging her into his bedroom.
Naomi looks down, her face burning at the memory. Thinking about their previous...encounter wasn’t her intention in the slightest. She groans to herself. This is what she gets for trying to make dumb small talk.
She pivots, not allowing them any more time to ruminate over the hook up. “Well you’ll have to give me a tour.”
“Deal.”
Naomi grabs her fork and digs into her food, taking a bite of her chicken. A low heat coats her taste buds, followed by the buttery flavor of the meat. A soft sigh passes her lips. “Okay, I know you love being a doctor, and you’re great at it, but I think you’d be an amazing chef.”
“Of course I’d be an amazing chef, I’m good at everything,” Ethan quips with a smirk.
“Your ego is unmatched.”
“But seriously, the food is good?”
His voice takes on an uncharacteristically low and shy tone. Naomi looks up at him and they lock eyes. He’s...nervous, she quickly surmises.
“The food is great, Ethan. If it wasn’t, you’d know.”
He smiles at her, relief coursing through his veins. Sure he knows he’s a good cook, but something about her praise and validation makes him feel like a teenager again.
“Good.”
“I might have you cook for me more often,” Naomi adds, lifting her wine glass to her lips and takes a sip. “How many other people get to say the great Ethan Ramsey made them dinner?”
“It’s just you,” Ethan replies. “And of course, you’re welcome over any time.”
“Don’t tempt me with a good time. I just might take you up on that offer.”
“Please do.”
The rest of their dinner goes by, the two of them embroiled in light conversation. Once dinner is done, Ethan instructs her to head to his living room while he puts the dishes in the sink. A few minutes later, he comes back with two slices of cake, and two more glasses of wine, red this time to complement the chocolate of their dessert.
“Ooh, I get dessert too? My, my, You’re really spoiling me tonight.”
“Don’t get used to it,” Ethan grumbles.
“Too late.” Naomi eagerly accepts her slice of cake. “Did you bake this?”
“Would you be impressed if I said yes?”
“I’d be very impressed.”
“But no, I can't take credit for this. There’s a bakery a few blocks away, and they make the best chocolate cake.”
“That’s a hefty endorsement coming from you.”
“Trust me, you’ll love it.”
Ethan sits down next to Naomi, leaving little room between the two of them, but just enough. At this distance, he can smell whatever sweet perfume she’s wearing, mixed with her shampoo—coconut scented, that much he knows for certain—it it’s effects on him are dizzy and intoxicating.
“How did your talk with your dad go the other day?” Naomi asks. Being questioned about his dad wasn’t what he was expecting, and it snaps him out of his daze.
“Huh?”
“How did your talk with Alan go?”
Ethan stops to seriously consider the question. His talk with his dad brought up a lot of feelings, good and bad, about a lot of different things. “I think he and I understand each other more. Love is still a pretty foreign concept to me, so I don’t think I’ll ever truly understand the depth of what he feels towards my mother, but I’m going to try to be more compassionate about them.”
“And I told him that him continuing to hold a flame for my mother fueled a lot of my anger,” Ethan continues. “It used to feel like he was willing to forgive her for hurting me. No matter what she did, all would be okay as long as she came back. Of course, he didn’t realize my perspective, and he apologized. We both realized that our views of my mom were going to be inherently different. And he agreed to stop trying to get me to talk to her.”
Naomi is glad to hear he made some peace with his dad. Alan seems like a sweet guy. “Do you think you’ll ever want to see her?”
A stony expression mars his features. “No. I’m not in a space to hear whatever bullshit excuse she spits out, nor do I want to hear any apologies. I’ve survived 25 years without her, I’ll survive 25 more.”
The energy in the room has taken a sharp turn. Naomi puts her plate down on the coffee table and takes Ethan’s hand in hers, her thumb running across his knuckles in a soothing manner. The simple gesture catches him off guard, and he looks at the younger woman.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you upset with my line of questioning.”
“I’m not upset with you,” Ethan assures her. She’s the last person he’d be upset with considering she’s been his rock throughout this entire ordeal. “And I shouldn’t be burdening you with this.”
“You’re not being a burden, Ethan.”
“Regardless, I didn’t invite you over here to be bogged down by my family drama.”
Naomi looks down at their still joined hands, and she swallows thickly. “Okay, did you invite me over here to talk about our kiss?”
The corner of his mouth quirks up at the question. “I’ve always admired your boldness, Rookie. You get straight to the point no matter what.”
“No point in beating around the bush,” Naomi says with a shrug. Reluctantly, she pulls her hand out of his and turns her body so they’re facing each other. “Look Ethan, you said that we needed boundaries, and outside of our kiss at Donahue’s a few months back, I’ve been trying my absolute hardest to be respectful. But now you’re sending me mixed signals. First when we went to stake out your mom a few weeks back, you held my hand the entire way back to Boston. And then you kissed me the other day, a few times. Now I’m at your apartment again. I need to know what we’re doing, because you’re blurring the lines.”
Ethan sighs. He feels like a selfish asshole, jerking her around like this. “Look, Naomi, I thought our relationship was going to be that of a mentor and mentee–and it is, but it’s become so much more than that. You are one of the most important people in my life. You are the one person I want to turn to when things feel crazy, whether it’s about work or my personal life.”
“And…?”
“I’m getting there, Rookie,” Ethan chuckles softly, and her stomach flips at her old nickname. “Look, all my life, I’ve only ever viewed things in black and white, and it was easy for me. But you came barreling into my life, and not only can I see shades of grey, but I see the entire color spectrum. You push me, you challenge me, you drive me absolutely insane.” Naomi laughs. “But it’s becoming increasingly harder to respect my self-imposed boundaries when it comes to you.”
“What are you saying?”
“I’m saying that I think it’s time I stop trying to hold myself back when it comes to you.”
Naomi’s too afraid to move. To breathe, even. What if this is some sort of dream? She’s going to wake up soon, in her own bedroom, alone, disappointed and full of self loathing. “So, what? Do you want to give us a try?”
“Yes, I want to give us a try. That is, if you still want to give me a chance. I know I probably don’t deserve one.”
Hearing those words is akin to a dam breaking inside of her. The air leaves her lungs all at once and her vision goes blurry with unshed tears.
Crying wasn’t the reaction he thought he was going to get from her. Ethan reaches out, gently swiping the pad of his thumb underneath her eye. “Naomi, what–”
She cuts him off, grabbing his face with both hands, crashing their lips together. He barely has time to toss his plate onto the table before she’s clamoring into his lap, straddling him.
This kiss feels so much like the one they shared a few nights ago. It’s frenzied, desperate, and filled with longing, but there’s an undercurrent of something else, something they haven’t felt before. Relief. Lightness.
Ethan’s tongue presses against her lips, silently asking for permission to deepen things. Naomi responds, opening her mouth to grant him entrance.
She clings to him, grabbing all that her hands can. His shoulders, his neck, his soft t-shirt. She needs some sort of permanence to ground her to the moment and let her know that this isn’t a dream. It’s real.
Ethan’s hands move from her hips, aiming higher until they’re under her sweater. His fingers burn, and he’s not sure if his brain is playing tricks on him because he’s consumed quite a few glasses of wine, or if the feel of her skin has that effect on him. Whatever the case, he welcomes the white-hot sensation, greedily searching for more surface area. Finally he settles on her back, his hands running around her spine, making her shudder.
They only pull apart because the need to breathe is much stronger than their desire to stay joined. But it doesn’t last long, as Naomi quickly kisses him again.
“I’ve missed you,” she confesses when she pulls away. Ethan notes the vulnerability in her eyes as she comes to rest her forehead against his. “I’ve missed this.”
“I’ve missed you too. You have no idea how much.”
She bites her lip in contemplation and Ethan swears it might be his favorite sight. “Please tell me this is real. Tell me you won’t wake up tomorrow and change your mind.”
Reluctantly, his hands drop from the small of her back. He uses one to tilt her chin up, forcing eye contact between the two. “I’m not going anywhere, Naomi.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
They kiss again, a softness filling them this time around. Her fingers pull at the hem of his shirt, tugging it, urging him to remove the piece of fabric.
“Naomi, stop,” Ethan orders gently.
She breaks the kiss, confused. “What?”
“We need to stop,” Ethan pants heavily. His heart is beating erratically against his rib cage, and if she keeps kissing him like this, and touching him like this, he’s going to lose all of his will.
“What’s wrong?”
“If we don’t stop now, I won’t be able to stop myself from escalating this and taking you into my bedroom.”
Naomi shivers against him. “Is that a promise?”
“You have no idea. But I want us to take this slow. I want to do this right.”
“Oh yeah?” He can tell by the twinkle in her eye that she’s going to tease me. “Are you going to court me, old man?”
Ethan wraps his arm around her waist, pulling her closer. She groans at the contact. “Call me old one more time, Rookie.”
Naomi is never one to back down from a challenge, but she doesn’t want to take things further knowing he wants to move slowly. “I think it’s sweet.”
“I just really don’t want to mess things up with you.”
“I don’t want to either.”
Naomi moves off of his lap, creating some distance. She smooths out her sweater, which is currently twisted around her midsection.
She checks the time on her watch. “It’s getting late, I think I should go.”
“You don’t have to leave.”
“I know, but I think it’d be better for both of us if we ended things here. I don’t want to test your restraint any more.”
“Thank you. Do you need me to take you home?”
“I’ll call an Uber.”
“I’ll walk you out.”
Naomi quickly calls for a car using the app. They find their shoes, enjoying the comfort of each other’s presence. They hold hands the entire way down, sharing shy smiles and glances.
The air between the two of them feels so different now. Like a weight has been lifted off of both their shoulders, they revel in the newfound lightness and change in their relationship.
They stand in front of his apartment complex as they wait for her ride to arrive, their hands still joined together. It’s late at night, but the city is still lit up, and all of the lights reflect off of Naomi as she stares at her surroundings. Ethan clears his throat, gaining her attention.
“So I was thinking, how about we go out this weekend,” he suggests. “There’s a new exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts.”
“We agreed to date a few short minutes ago, and you already have a date planned.”
Ethan shrugs. “Well, I’ve had this evening planned out for the past 48 hours.”
Naomi smirks at him. “And you were just so sure I would say yes to you?”
“Call it a hunch.”
A car matching the description of Naomi’s rideshare pulls up along the curb. “This is my ride.”
Before she can open the car door, Ethan yanks her hand and spins her around. He kisses her again, his warm hand cupping her jaw. He pulls away quickly, leaving her breathless. “One more for the road. Call me when you get home, okay.”
“Of course.” Naomi smiles. “See you tomorrow, Ethan.”
“Goodnight, Naomi.”
She enters the car and Ethan watches as it drives off. He stands on the sidewalk for a long time after she’s gone, as if he’s still in a daze. The entire night feels surreal, and he almost can’t believe things worked out the way they did.
He knows one thing for sure: he’ll be forever grateful for his ability to cook.
Catfight
Tag list :@paolaqueen5580 @fundamentalromantic
Pairing: Chloe x Mc(Bea)
@paolaqueen5580 thank you for the idea and I hope you like it!
...
It was time, the elbows have been rubbed and the talent had been showed. It was time to become the new Queen. Poppy took her step forward only to be stopped dead by,
“Chloe St. James!”
The audience gasped. Poppy stood, mouth agape. Even Bea couldn’t believe it. She was upset she didn’t win, but good for Chloe she thought, she couldn’t be too upset with this outcome.
Until Poppy couldn’t handle the loss and tried to steal Chloe’s moment, she wouldn’t stop until she verbally abused everyone in the room and the main reason for her loss, Wannabee Hughes.
“This is all YOUR fault.” Poppy screamed stomping her way over to Bea.
What happened next was legendary, Bea Hughes exposed Poppy’s family secret and sent her off crying, CRYING.
There was cheers for Bea all through the hall. She finally did it, although she didn’t win, she beat Poppy. She gathered up the trophy and crown and gave them rightfully to Chloe.
“Congrats Chloe, I’m sorry we ruined your moment, but I’m so happy you won.” Bea said giving her a small hug.
Glancing over her shoulder, she saw Ina staring at her as if she was a monster, an imposter of some sorts. When Ina noticed Bea watching her, she shook her head and ran out the door.
“Would the Queen and runner up like to say anything?” Thomas asked trying to regain the crowds attention.
“I’m sorry, I’ve gotta run!” Bea said leaping off the stage and out the exit.
“Where....where are you?” Bea frantically searched the quad for Ina.
A pair of delicate hands pulled her aside and up against a building.
“Ina!”
“Listen Bea, after your little stunt, I think it’s best if we steer clear from each other. We are obviously not mature enough to keep this going and now knowing the real you, I want to pass.”
“But Ina! This is not who I am! I’m...”
“Goodbye Bea.”
Bea was crushed, Ina was gone. But to be fair, it was probably the right decision. She had been cold to Ina, and sure, she tried to use her as leverage, but she felt a connection, a real connection. But hell, it was college, she felt that with mostly everyone.
“Ahhh look how the mighty have fallen.”
Bea stopped in her tracks, “Leave me alone Poppy.” Bea raised her head to see Poppy sitting by the fountain.
“I don’t think so Winchester. You may have beaten me tonight, but I’m miles ahead of you. I may lose everything after your revelation, but I assure you, you will pay.” Poppy smirked. “You’re no better than me, you’re just another monster and soon, they will see it too.”
“Blow it out of your ass Sinclair, you’re ruined, and I’m not even close to you.”
“On the contrary, I’ll get to rest, and freshen up. I’m still connected wannabe. And news flash, you still couldn’t win. You may have most of the student body brainwashed, but you couldn’t even beat Chloe. You let that ditzy bimbo beat you!” Poppy mocked.
For some reason, and Bea couldn’t answer why, but the comments about Chloe did it for her, rage filled her body.
“Ahhhhh!” Bea screamed charging Poppy, tackling her into the fountain.
“You bitch!” Poppy scrambled to her feet, returning the attack.
The catfight was on and the kicking and clawing began. Bea found purchase of Poppy’s delicate hair and began yanking it. Cliche.
Poppy squealed in pain as she reared back and socked Bea square in the nose.
“Ow! I’m going to kill you! You bitch that was my nose! Owwww! I think it’s broken!” Bea said trying not to cry due to the immense pain.
“Looks like an improvement.” Poppy mocked. “Ow! My eye!” Bea took advantage of Poppy’s distraction and slugged her, blackening her eye.
The two locked up once again, clawing and scratching, collapsing into the water again.
Once they both went under, the cool water startled them into submission. Both ending the fight and the two slowly climbed out of the fountain.
“Poppy!” The two were interrupted by her parents who quickly jerked her aside looking her over with disappointment.
Bea just shifted from foot to foot awkwardly as Poppy’s parents chewed her out and shot Bea an ugly look before leaving with Poppy.
Bea sighed, bloody, hurting, cold and now dripping wet. She limped her way back towards the Gala but as she entered, Chloe intercepted her.
“Oh my god! What happened to you?” Chloe asked concerned.
“Me and Poppy got into a disagreement.”
“Jesus Bea! Your nose!”
“You should see her.” Bea tried to laugh it off, the adrenaline had wore off and her nose began to hurt like hell.
“We gotta get you to the doctor!”
“I’m ok Chloe, really. You should stay here and celebrate your award.”
“No!” Chloe demanded. “I’m so tired of everyone telling me what to do!”
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean...”
“I am my own woman! I’ll do as I want and I am taking you to the doctor whether you like it or not!”
Okkkk, independent Chloe was scary as fuck, but also hot.
“Ok.” Bea sighed defeated.
“Veronica!!!!” Chloe screamed out across the room, so loud the music cut out and people began to stare.
“I’m taking Bea to the hospital!!!! Poppy beat her up! We will be back later!”
Bea tried to hide from the muffled laughter and appalled looks, way to go Chloe.
“Ok I’m ready let’s go.”
The girls checked into the hospital and were put in a room immediately. Luckily Bea’s nose wasn’t broken, it was just dislocated.
After a quick adjustment and a very painful pop back into place, Bea could breathe again. The doctor cleaned her cuts and gave Chloe some ointment to apply to the affected areas twice a day.
Back at Bea’s dorm, Chloe insisted she stay. She said it was her responsibility.
“Chloe you don’t have to. The doctor said I can apply the ointmemt myself.”
“No no. He gave it to me. I should be the one to do it.”
“Yes but he didn’t literally mean...” Bea stopped her reply when Chloe shot her, her ‘determined’ look. She clearly wasn’t leaving.
“Ok fine. You can apply it.”
“Yayyy!” Chloe cheered. “Now, hold still.”
Chloe delicately and calmly smeared the cream over Bea’s cuts with her thumb. Her silky smooth hands rested against Bea’s cheek as she stuck her tongue out and narrowed her eyes in concentration as her thumb moved softly over the cuts.
Bea couldn’t help but get lost in the touch. This may not be so bad. She closed her eyes begging for more.
When Chloe stopped, Bea couldn’t help but pout. She opened her eyes and jumped alittle. When did Chloe get so close? Her mouth was just inches away.....
As if Chloe developed mind reading powers, she inched closer and Bea didn’t refuse her.
The two locked into a delicate make out session, Chloe gently pushing Bea back onto the couch and crawling on top.
Zoey and Veronica had paired up to look for the girls after they had ghosted them hours after they left for the hospital. Zoey gave up and invited Veronica over for some Tea.
“Holy Shit!” Zoey screamed in delight as Chloe and Bea leaped apart.
“Damnit!” Veronica hissed. “I didn’t get that on video. Can we do a retake?”
“A retake? Hell no go away!” Bea yelled retreating to her room.
Chloe just shrugged and followed Bea.
“Did you just see what I saw?” Zoey said in shock.
“Looks like a new power couple.”
Everything’s Reminding Me of You - Part 3 (Logan X MC, Colt X MC)
Book: ROD
Pairing: Logan X MC, Colt X MC
Rating: NSFW/18+
Summary: As Gabi drives off to college alone, she can’t help but think about the two loves she left behind. This is Part 3 of 3
Song Credits (In order)
1. Goodbye My Lover - James Blunt 2. Love You Goodbye - One Direction  Spotify Playlist (includes songs from part 1 and 2)
Word Count: 3153
Two days of driving down, and one long day to go before Gabi reaches her final destination. Despite the pain of having nothing to do but relive all her recent memories, she’s feeling lighter and more hopeful today than she has in a long time. She’s ready to let them go and start fresh. Well almost. She’s kept a couple songs for today. Ones that remind her of her goodbyes to them both. After driving for awhile, she’s ready and cues up the first song to play.
~~~
Colt dropped Gabi off in front of her house after saying goodbye. As if that wasn’t hard enough, everyone was gone, just like that. She hadn’t even had a chance to say goodbye to Logan and didn’t know if she would ever see him again.
She turned to walk up the path to her house when she heard her name being called, and she would know that voice anywhere.
“Gabi?” Logan stepped out from the shadows.
“Logan!” I’d thought you’d left.” Gabi ran up and threw her arms around his neck.
Logan hugged her back in his strong arms and kissed her on the forehead. “I couldn’t. Not without saying goodbye.”
They stayed there motionless for a long moment, neither wanting to be the first to break the embrace. “What will you do?”
“I’m...not sure.”
“You know, you don’t have to leave. You could stay in L.A. We could find a way...” Gabi was desperate not to lose him. She would have given up school, gone anywhere, done anything, if that meant she could stay with him.
I know your fears and you know mine / We've had our doubts but now we're fine / And I love you, I swear that's true / I cannot live without you.
Logan looked contemplatively up at the sky. Gabi followed his gaze and at that moment, a meteor streaked orange across the pitch black canvas of the night. “I lived my whole life on the run. From foster homes, from police, from gangs... I was always willing to walk away and never look back.” He looked back to Gabi.
You touched my heart you touched my soul / You changed my life and all my goals
"But I thought I was finally done running. I thought I’d finally found something worth fighting for. Worth risking it all for. But now the feds are after us. And every moment I stay puts you in danger.”
And love is blind and that I knew when / My heart was blinded by you
Gabi frowned. “What are you saying?” She already knows the answer. She could see it in his face, hear it in voice, but she was holding onto and last shred of hope that there was any way they could be together.
“I'm saying that if I really care about you...” He paused and took a deep breath, as if to muster the courage for what came next. “I have to never see you again.”
Did I disappoint you or let you down? / Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown? / 'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun
“That’s not true.” Gabi shook her head, unwilling to believe it.
“We both know know it is. I have to walk away.”
Gabi stomach sunk, and it was like the ground fell out from underneath her. It was all she could do to keep herself from completely breaking down. Logan inched closer and Gabi fell into his arms, resting her head in his chest. They swayed together as if there was music only they could hear. “I don’t want to let go.”
I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile / I've watched you sleeping for a while / I'd be the father of your child/ I'd spend a lifetime with you
“Me neither. Man, I really get it now. It’s amazing how much life makes sense when everything hurts.”
Gabi tilted her head back to look up at him. He smiled, trying to lighten the mood but Gabi could see his eyes glistening in the moonlight.
“Logan...what am I going to do without you?”
“Well , for starters, you’re going to get some sleep.” Logan chuckled but Gabi was in no mood to laugh.
“Logan, I’m serious. I...don’t know how to go back to the old me.”
“Then don’t. Be the real you. The one that was always waiting to come out.”
“That one doesn’t know how to be alone.”
“She won’t be.”
“Where will you go?”
“Guess I’ll see where the road takes me.”
“And you won’t come find me?”
It may be over but it won't stop there/ I'm here for you if you'd only care
“I can’t, Gabi. But know that every time you look up at the stars, I’m somewhere seeing your face in them.” Gabi covered her face with her hands as hot tears stung her eyes and Logan stroked her hair. “Hey, hey.. don’t cry over me. You’ll forget all about me soon enough. I was just a rock in space lucky enough to burn up in your atmosphere for a moment.”
And as you move on, remember me / Remember us and all we used to be
“No Logan, I’ll never love someone else.” She truly couldn’t imagine how she would ever get over him.
And I love you, I swear that's true / I cannot live without you.
“Yeah, you will.” Logan smiled softy. “You’ve got a whole life ahead of you, and a whole lot of love in your heart. I was just some punk kid you caused trouble with in high school.”
He was selling himself short to make her feel better but she wasn’t buying it. She knew the real Logan. “Don’t say that Logan. Please don’t say that. You’re so much more than that.” As the tears streamed down her face, Logan brushed them away, his calloused fingertips rough against her soft skin.
Logan pushed her hair back out of her face and as much as she wanted to kiss him, she knew that would be the end - the last time she’d get to feel his touch. His lips met hers, soft, and warm, and she closed her eyes squeezing the collecting tears down her cheeks. He cupped her cheek in his hand while Gabi tried to commit every piece of him to memory - his scent, his touch, his taste...
I've kissed your lips and held your head / Shared your dreams and shared your bed. / I know you well, I know your smell / I've been addicted to you.
“Logan, no.” She pleaded as he pulled away, knowing that was it, and the hurt came crashing down instantly.
Goodbye my lover / Goodbye my friend / You have been the one /You have been the one for me.
Logan stepped backwards into the dark, never taking his eyes off her. “There’s a whole wide world out there waiting for you... Give ‘em hell, troublemaker.”
~~~
Goodbye my lover / Goodbye my friend / You have been the one / You have been the one for me / I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow / I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.
The last words of the song describe exactly how she felt when Logan left, like he occupied a physical space in her heart that he took away when he left. But Gabi has a big heart, and although Logan had been the love she felt she was meant to be with, she couldn’t help but keep a space for Colt too. She had thought her goodbye with him was final and had been starting to make peace with it, but Colt had other plans.
~~~
Gabi brought the last of her boxes out to the car and shut the trunk. Now that it was almost here she was both nervous and excited to move across country and start the next phase of her life. It was the first time in a week that she actually let herself look forward instead of just looking back.
As she walked back to the house, she heard a motorcycle in the distance. For just a split second she wondered if it was him, just like she had every time she heard one since he left, but then she remembered how unlikely that was. They’d said their goodbyes and they’d both made it clear they were headed in different directions. But when the sound kept getting louder, Gabi spun around and almost didn’t believe what she saw.
Colt pulled up in front of her house and hopped off his bike, setting his helmet on the seat. It was like she was seeing a ghost, but it had to be real. He was as gorgeous as ever as he sauntered over in fitted jeans and a white t-shirt under his black leather jacket.
“Colt! What are you doing here?”
Colt scratched at the back of his neck. “I was, uh, in the neighborhood.” It came off as more of a question than a statement. Her neighborhood, and specifically her street, were not places people just happened to pass by on their way elsewhere.
“Oh, really?” Gabi questioned suspiciously. “What type of business did you have around here? You know this probably isn’t the smartest place for you to be.”
“Fine, I’m here because I was hoping to see you. I know we already said our goodbyes, but I still feel there’s a lot left unsaid, and I knew you must be leaving soon…”
Gabi crossed her arms. “You’re right, I’m leaving in the morning, so if you are trying to convince me to stay, it’s too late for that.”
It’s inevitable everything that’s good comes to an end / It’s impossible to know if after this we could still be friends, yeah
“No, it’s nothing like that. I just…I don’t know I’m not always the best with words and expressing my feelings. Can we just go somewhere and talk?”
Colt’s humbled and pleading tone melted any resolve she had she had left. “Okay my dad is working, you can come inside." Gabi led Colt into the living room. He sat on one end of the couch and she sat on the other, pulling her knees into her chest, guarded.
It seemed like minutes passed until Gabi finally broke the silence. "So, did you actually want to talk or are we just going to stare at each other?”
Colt smirked. “I don’t know. It’s not such a bad view.”
Gabi laughed and shook her head. “Come on, Colt. I’m leaving early tomorrow, and I could be sleeping right now.”
“Sorry. I just thought I’d get here and I’d know what to say…but I want to apologize. I know I can be an asshole sometimes.”
Gabi raised an eyebrow. “Sometimes?”
“Okay, most of the time.” Colt chuckled. “I don’t necessarily regret the choices I made, but I do wish I had handled some things differently with you. You know how I feel about you. You know how amazing and intelligent I think you are. I see a lot of myself in you, and because of that, I falsely assumed you’d want all the things I want too. I told you following your dream of going off to Langston wasn’t good enough for you, and I’m sorry. You are going to be great at anything you choose to do Gabi, and I know you’re destined for big things.”
Unforgettable together the whole world in my hands / Unexplainable the love that only we could understand, yeah
“Wow, Colt.” She couldn’t believe he was finally saying all the things she’d wanted him to say all along. “Thank you.”
“Colt looked down to his lap. “I just can’t stop wondering if I would have realized sooner-”
I know there’s nothing I can do to change it / But is this something that could be negotiated
“Colt, stop.” Gabi placed a hand on his knee. “I’m going to school on the other side of the country, and you are rebuilding your dad’s garage here. Everything is working out the way it’s supposed to be.”
Colt looked up to meet her gaze, placing his hand on top of hers, and something changed. His eyes darkened as a familiar spark passed between them, and Gabi knew there was know going back. She leaned in and Colt cupped the back of her head, closing the distance and crushing her his mouth to her. His tongue slipped past her parted lips, Gabi moaning as he deepened the kiss.
Suddenly, Colt pulled away. “What about Logan?”
Gabi sighed. “He’s gone. He didn’t want to put me in danger and wanted me to live the live I’m supposed to have. I haven’t seen or heard from him since that last night we were all together, and I doubt I ever will again.”
“That self-sacrificing moron.” Colt laughed and Gabi followed.
“Do you really want to talk about Logan, or…” Gabi slid her hand up and stopped near the top of his thigh.
“What are you saying?” Colt asked with a smile playing on his lips.
Hey, hey, hey / Oh, why did you have to walk out of my life Hey, hey, hey /Oh, even though it’s over you should stay tonight
“I’m saying…come with me.” Gabi jumped up and grabbed Colt’s hand, pulling him with her and up stairs to her bedroom. As soon as she closed the door they started tearing at each other’s clothes, falling onto the bed, limbs intertwined with only their underwear left on.
Colt rolled on top of Gabi, hovering over her. “Are you sure this is what you want?”
If tomorrow you won’t be mine  / Won’t you give it to me one last time /Oh, baby let me love you goodbye
Gabi nodded. Had she given Colt any false hope, or if there was any possibility she could have been with Logan again, she might have felt guilty, but she and Colt both knew the score. In an odd way, she knew it was what she needed to get over him.
One more taste of your lips just to bring me back / To the places we’ve been and the nights we’ve had / Because if this is it then at least we could end it right
“Good. If this is the only chance I get, I’m going to do it right.” He kissed her lips, trailing down her jaw and neck, nibbling and sucking hard enough to leave a mark and sending shivers down her spine. He reached around to unhook her bra, flicking his tongue over her nipples as he pulled the cups down. He slipped his hand inside her panties and groaned as he felt how wet she was, and when circled over her clit she did the same, trying to bite back her moan. He removed her panties and sat up, his eyes roving over entire body.  "I’ve waited so long to see you like this. You’re so fucking beautiful, Gabi.”
Gabi clasped her hands around his neck, pulling his weight onto her as she kissed him deeply. There was an urgency in his movements, yet he took his time exploring her body like he didn’t want to miss a thing. She came as he worked his fingers inside her, and then again as his tongue teased her clit.
She pushed colt onto his back, stripped off his boxer briefs, and took his hard length into her mouth, bobbing up and down until she brought him to the brink. He pulled her up before she went to far and guided her entrance over him. She sunk down onto him and gasped as his cock filled her completely. He writhed and moaned beneath her, running his hands all over body, caressing her breasts and making her whimper as he tugged on her pink buds.
“I want you on your hands and knees,” Colt commanded and she obliged. He reached around, stroking her most sensitive place as he drove into her, hitting her sweet spot every time. She felt the pressure building once again until it burst and she screamed out Colt’s name as intense waves of pleasure coursed through her.
Her walls still pulsing around him, Colt flipped Gabi over and pinned her hands above her head as his continues his frantic pace. She bucked her hips into him, and a few more thrusts was all he could take, crying out "Ohh, Fuck!” as his whole body shuddered.
Colt flopped on the bed next to Gabi, idly stroking her arm with his fingertips. “It’s a shame we won’t be able to do that again.”
“Yeah,” was all Gabi could manage to say, her mind a jumble of conflicting feelings. Leaving was still the plan, no question about it, but she’d be lying if she didn’t think for a split second about what it would be like if she stayed.
“I know this doesn’t change anything, but if things don’t work out for you out East, you know where I’ll be.”
Gabi kissed Colt softly on the lips and smirked. “I’ll keep that in mind if I flunk out.” She rested her head on Colt’s chest and they remained in silence as the minutes passed “Hey, Colt?”
“Yeah?”
“I just want you to know you were never second choice or plan B for me. I know this might not make sense or be of any consolation, but things just didn’t fall into place for us. We just couldn’t be what we needed each other to be.”
Colt studied Gabi thoughtfully. "You know what? I think I finally get it. It still hurts like hell, but I don’t want you to change to be what you think I want or need. Maybe our paths will cross again, but if I really love you, which I still do, I need to let you follow your own path."
Gabi laced her fingers through Colt’s and gave his hand a squeeze. "I do love you too, Colt. Not in the way you need me to, but I will always care about you.
"I know.” Colt wrapped Gabi in his arms and held her until it was time to for him to leave.
~~~
Oh baby let me love you goodbye
Gabi momentarily wonders if reliving that all within the span of 10 minutes was a mistake as a wave of emotion almost drowns her. But as she takes a deep breath and exhales, she can almost feel the weight lifting off of her. She’s not just going to forget about everything and move on instantaneously, but forcing herself to relive and process it all has made her see things much more clearly, and she’s ready for what adventures lie ahead.
Vouge
Title:  Vouge
Pairing: James Ashton x Vivian (MC), Damien x Suriyah (PM MC)
Rating: NSFW and stuff...
Word count:  2,105 words
My disclaimer:  This character is owned by PB, I just enjoy some elaboration. I really love James Ashton and I love Choices fanfics, especially nasty ass stuff but there isn’t much featuring my original bae, James Ashton from The Freshman series
So, I decided to put my amateur ass talent to work and write with James being the *star of the story*
A/N:  * is a separator due to scene change
Three months later
Vivian lies on the doctors' table, comfortable and wanting to fall asleep when the doctor speaks
"You're five months now. Would you like to know the sex of Baby Ashton?'
"Slip it to me.”
The doctor gestures to Shaun as if to ask Vivian if he were the father, Vivian shakes her head and prepares herself to leave. They make an appointment for the following week and upon walking into the parking stricture Shaun affectionately places his hand on Vivian's back.
Once in the car, Vivian starts to softly cry.
"Sexy, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
"Because James hasn't been a part of this pregnancy. It feels like our baby, his and mine is OUR baby, yours and mine"
"Okay sexy, Im'a always side with you…usually."
She sniffles "I know."
"But you shut him out. He calls you more than once daily. Look I'm not tryna make you call him. I like spendin' all this time with you. But don't cry over something you have control over.”
Vivian looks at Shaun who sits behind the wheel still in the parking lot, focused on calming her down.
He stares back at her as they usually do in these moments. There's something different about this time. There’s a scent in the atmosphere that has taken Shaun hostage making him unwilling to turn from Vivian's smoldering stare. Vivian doesn’t help. Staring back at Shaun, not even trying to break the gaze as she usually does. Shaun frantically but rushes to kiss Vivian.
"Shaun...".
He kisses her neck while reaching to unclasp her bra
"Shaun, I'm pregnant - remember?" He covers her mouth with his and they make out as he caresses her pregnant breasts...
-click click-
"I want you, Vivian. It doesn't matter that you're pregnant. I've been here and I'm not leaving."
He leans to meet her for a kiss. After they part,
"Let's talk in more depth when we get to my apartment. "
**
"You're perfect, hun." Comfort straightens James' tie before he walks onstage to say his last words about the play as tonight was its last show on the tour. She kisses his cheek, "Go be amazing."
James walks out on stage and after giving his appreciation and saying goodbye, the audience roars a symphony of clapping in mostly unison and James walks backstage to Comfort.
"Thank you for being here with me Comfort. You've become a necessity in my life."
"Good. I dare your baby's mother to try and push me out."
"Let’s not worry about that."
"Okay, James " she kisses his forehead.
"Ready to go?"
"Yes. But I'm gonna take you home tonight. I meet with Damien tomorrow." She'd been spending nights at his place all week.
"The private investigator, right? I don't think I knew his name. I'm glad you're meeting though."
James grabs Comforts hand
"I'm scared."
She squeezes his hand "Text me. I'll come over immediately after. If all I can do is be there than that's what I wanna do."
"Comfort...?"
"Yes, James?" He pecks her lips and she smiles against the kiss. It’s the first time he’s ever kissed her lips, and she thinks it’s cute how important it seems to him.
"I love spending time with you, Comfort"
"The sentiment is shared, hun"
He smiles, "Okay. Let's go."
The drive home is sweet, she lays her hand on top of his free hand and he kisses her again after walking her to the door.
After making it to his apartment he prepares to sleep anticipating Damien's visit.
**
Vivian wakes up to see Shaun lying topless beside her. She rolls onto him and wakes him up with a kiss. He kisses her back, pleased with his life right now.
"Mmm...I love kissing you, Shaun" they continue kissing. Vivian still lying on top of Shaun, rolling off of him and sitting upright "But we have to stop. I AM still trying to be with James. That hasn't changed."
"If we have sex, I'll change your mind. You won’t need James." She laughs
"But seriously, Shaun"
"Alright. I knew you were still tryna be with him when I kissed you "
"Exactly. Friends?"
"Forever."
“But Shaun"
"Yeah, sexy?"
"It’s only us in this apartment. Kiss me."
And another steamy makeout session has begun
**
James is startled by the knock on the door that he answers with nervous anticipation
A stranger stands in a bomber jacket and jeans
"Hello. Mr. Ashton?”
"James, Yes.”
"Damien Nazario. The investigator you hired."
"Of course, come in.”
"This is my partner Suriyah."
Her dress seems a little short to be appropriate for work, but maybe that’s why she became a private investigator.
"Nice to meet you both"
"Have a seat, we’ve got some things for you"
James sits at the dining room table as does Damien and Suriyah. Manila folder in hand, Damien speaks
"Are you ready for this? When an investigator does the job right, you can find out things you weren't even looking for" James opens his mouth to speak but Suriyah speaks above him.
"Don't let Damien scare you. Save your emotions for when you see the photos."
She doesn't realize that she scared him even more.
"Okay. Let's see.” James speaks steadily as if he’s ready for anything when truly he’s afraid of what he might see.
Damien pulls out two photos, pushing one to the forefront that shows Shaun's hand rested on Vivian's back.
"This could be innocent. But it's worth it to say that they were leaving an ob/GYN when you say she doesn't keep you up to date on the pregnancy. "
James is hurt that she’s excluded him from being around their growing child but he’s equally relieved that's all there's evidence of.
"But Suriyah...Well," Damien turns to Suriyah "Suriyah, I’ll let you take it from here."
Suriyah takes the second photo
"James. You're such a great catch. And unbelievably handsome."
Damien gives her a sharp look, wondering why he allowed his fiancé to be his partner. She can never deliver tough news without a cushion.
"Thanks"
"And that voice. It's so sexy!"
"Suriyah" Damien calls her name to bring her back to the world.
She finally places the photo in front of James. It shows Shaun and Vivian in Shaun's SUV, Shaun and Vivian are kissing, and it looks like his hands might be under her shirt.
"I'm sorry James. There isn't much to say. They were still in the lot of the doctor’s office."
James is able to speak as though he's fine but the expression on his face betrays the facade he's trying to portray.
"Thanks to you both. Mission accomplished, huh?" His laughter is noticeably fake as he hands Damien their payment.
"If you ever need me again you know I'll get the job done"
“Butt hopefully you won’t need us” Suriyah speaks and James and Damien shake hands.
The investigating duo begins to walk out the door before Suriyah turns to James,
"If she'd do you like that, she’s not worth it."
"She is though..." James' voice matches his expression; he is no longer pretending to be okay.
"Suriyah, come on" Damien called to her.
James closes the door after they've gone and dials Vivian.
**
An improvised nap interrupted by the sound of her phone; Vivian's eyes seem to bulge when realizing that its James calling. She broke down crying because of the absence she dictated, there’s no way she can ignore this call.
"Hey. I miss you." She didn't want to explain why she’s been ignoring his calls.
"Can you come over?" He was short and seemed a little emotionless. Though she agrees. It's time to allow him involvement. Shaun has already started work. With an empty apartment, Vivian can leave without detour.
*
The short drive doesn't allow for much thinking, but the only thing she wondered was "Is he okay?" He sure seemed different on the phone. Once at his apartment, he welcomes her with a hug.
"You're vibrant. You look good carrying our baby." Vivian smiles, "Thanks, James. It’s really good seeing you. I missed you so much. "
"Honestly?"
"Yes, of course."
"Tell me something you love."
"A lot of things."
"Okay, tell me something you love that I do. "
She pauses and speaks low, as though other people are in the room
"I love the way you eat my pussy. I love your silly puns about "eating."
"Oh? You mean the way I had to have my food delivered today?" He gently pushes her onto the table, moves her panties to the side and teases her by licking around her pussy lips.
"Daddy, it's been too long" he glides his tongue over her slit continuing to tease. Feeling her pussy get wetter he inserts a finger; thrusting his finger in and out until he stops to rub on her clit.
"James...Please...Don't stop Daddy."
Once he can see she is dripping wet, the translucent liquid slipping out of her pussy onto her thighs, he trails kisses up her thigh. Licking and sucking her thigh anywhere the wetness has spilled.
"Yes, Daddy... " she grabs hold of the back of his neck as he loses his tongue in her pussy. He licks up and down and sucks her clit adding his fingers to heighten the pleasure. "Fuck, James..." she whispers as he continues to taste her. He can feel her climax coming and flicks her clit until he can taste her releasing.
James immediately gets up
"Good?"
Vivian still on the table, finally sitting upright after a struggle.
"Can I just say... do that again "
But he’s holding the picture of Shaun kissing her in her face when she sits up.
"James I... I.. "
"You don't have to explain yourself, Vivian. The separation is over."
"What!? Really!?"
She’s genuinely concerned and surprised. She shows excitement and happiness, but she’s got her mouth wide open in shock, in her mind. He has evidence of her kissing another man, but the separation is over??
"Yes. I can't do this anymore. "
"Good, baby, I hated being apart. "
"Vivian. It's over. Our relationship is over. We are not on a break. We are not temporarily separated. We are broken up. I only want to be in my child's life."
"James..."
"I won't compete with other men for my girlfriend’s affection. Especially when I, the boyfriend, keeps losing. "
"James, that's not -"
"Listen, I’ve met someone. I was trying not to fall for her because I thought I knew that you and I would be together. I was unfortunately wrong. "
"That's the real reason you're leaving me. Who is she? Reyna? Is it Reyna, James?"
The fact that Vivian is so upset is certainly not what James was expecting.
"It doesn't matter who it is as long as you and I are nothing more than parents."
"It is Reyna. Okay, fine James." Vivian stands up to leave. "We're having a boy." She attempts to stomp past him out the door when he grabs hold of her hand.
"Why are you so upset? We're having a son. That's great."
James wanting to find joy in the baby but Vivian stuck in the anger of losing her man.
"Break up? I don't care about Shaun. I care about you. I want you."
James pulls her close to him and starts to kiss her neck
"Baby. I dream of making you my wife." She shivers in pleasure unable to remember the last time he called her baby.
"Hold me forever, James." He kisses up her neck to the corner of her mouth before he stops
"But you've shattered those dreams. So, this is how it's going to be. We'll be amazing co-parents."
"I won't stop loving you. I will never give up on us. We were made to be together James. "
"Okay Vivian"
"I have an appointment next week. Would you like to come?"
Thus far he's done a pretty good job at hiding his pain but the more he speaks the more difficult it gets. "Am I allowed to come?" "Threes a crowd " and "Don't you have to ask Shaun first? “are three responses he WANTS to give when he only replies "Yes. Of course."
"Okay. I'll call you. I promise."
"Thanks" and he escorts her to her car.
Before allowing James to shut her car door she looks him in the eyes, "We will be together again. Forever." Moving her leg so he can shut the door, he walks into his apartment to sit on the couch covering his face with his palms.
50 Wordless Ways To Say ‘I Love You’ - Drake x MC (1/5)
Summary: How Drake and Elizabeth communicate their love at various stages of their relationship.
A/N: Now that the Captain of the Dralizabeth ship is officially back, I’m ashamed to say I haven’t had time to write a full length fic but please accept a compilation of little fluffy drabbles in the lead up to Valentines Day. Separated into 10s so you don’t get over whelmed.
Tumblr media
1.Holding their hands when they are shaking.
They’re standing off to the side, waiting in the wings for the announcer to introduce him when Elizabeth notices his hands are shaking and reaches out to clasp them in her smaller ones, feeling them tremble as she holds them. This is his first big speech as a Duke and though Drake’s gone through numerous drafts, run through it hundreds of times, Elizabeth knows that he’s scared of messing it up. He wants to do this right for her, for them, for the people they will be leading together. She’s tried her best to prepare him, to help him but in the end this is something he’s gonna have to do alone.
‘Hey.’ Her voice is soft and he glances down to meet her eyes, revealing just how nervous he is for this.
‘You’ve got this. I know you do.’
Drake doesn’t say anything, just leans down to rest his forehead against hers and they stay like that for a long moment until his name rings out. When his eyes open, Elizabeth can see he looks a lot calmer, much more at ease as his hands firmly grasp hers back.
‘Liz..’ Her name coming from his mouth speaks volumes and she nods in encouragement, returning his silent meaning. Drake gives her a small smile over his shoulder and steps up to the podium.
2.Tucking the sheets around them when they stir during the night.
Its been a rough few months for the Walker family. Their second child, Avery, was born premature with cleft lip and palate which has made everything from breathing to feeding difficult for both her parents especially with a four year old to take care of. They know its not Avery's fault - how could it be?- but waiting until she’s 5 months to perform the surgery is becoming unbearable. Drake and Elizabeth go many nights on barely three hours of sleep, too worried to rest when their tiny daughter could be choking on her own saliva.
One night Elizabeth wakes on pure instinct, suspicious since she hasn’t heard Avery cry and opens her eyes to find Drake’s side of the bed empty. Alarm arcs through her as she tears down the hallway to the nursery, if anything’s happened, she knows she’d never forgive herself.
This is soon replaced with relief as her eyes land on her husband, settled into the nursing chair in the room with their daughter lying on his chest, two of the three people that make up her whole world both sound asleep. This is the first time Avery’s slept almost the whole night and Elizabeth is not surprised that it happens when she's in her daddy’s arms. Drake’s fatherly touch seems to have a very calming effect, so far its worked on both their daughters.
Not wanting to disturb the scene, she grabs a blanket from the cupboard in the hallway and gently drapes it over the pair of them, resisting the urge to plant a soft kiss on both their heads.
That can wait; for now they all need their rest.
3.Traveling long distances just to see them.
‘Remember we gotta be quiet okay squirt?’ Drake glances down at the tiny form of his three year old. daughter grasping his hand.
‘Okay daddy,’ Darcy replies, a cheeky smile spanning across her little mouth, unable to stop herself from bouncing down the hall in her excitement.
He can’t help but chuckle for a second at the sight before scanning the hallway. They’re in Hungary to surprise Elizabeth on one of her business trips. For her first time away from her mum for so long, Darcy was doing extremely well but by the time day five rolled around, Drake realised both of them were missing her too much. On pure instinct he’d called up Liam, asking to borrow his jet and less than an hour later, they were at her hotel ready to surprise her.
‘Shhh Darce,’ he warns again when they come up to Elizabeth’s room, hoisting Darcy into his arms as she clasps both hands over her mouth, though an adorable giggle escapes through.
He knocks, once, twice. ‘Room service.’
They can hear her coming up to the door, obviously confused as she pulls it open. ‘Sorry I didn’t order-‘
‘Mummy!’ Darcy practically leaping from her father’s arms without warning.
Elizabeth’s face lights up in surprise and joy as she catches her daughter. ‘Baby girl what are you doing here? Drake? What is this?’
‘Surprise,’ he chuckles, leaning in to press a kiss to her temple. ‘We missed you too much.’
His wife grins back at him as she leads him further into the room to gesture at an almost packed suitcase open on the bed. ‘I missed you guys too. I was just about to come home.’
Darcy wraps her pudgy arms around both their heads, pulling them all in close. ‘We’re back together Mummy.’
Elizabeth shares a smile with her husband as they encircle their arms around each other. ‘We are baby girl. We are.’
4.Making their favorite meal when they are having a hard day.
‘Bye, love you.’
Elizabeth clicks off the call, chewing her bottom lip as she thinks about how weary her husband just sounded on the phone. The duke life is hard on Drake, so different from what he’s used to and yet he pushes through, seeing their people reap the benefits is a thing he can’t deny. But he’s just a man and it gets to him, more  often than he’d like to admit. She helps where she can but she can’t do everything. The least she can do however, is make is more bearable. And today that involves some grocery shopping.
When Drake comes home twenty minutes later, she’s got a picnic basket holding their dinner all ready for a romantic trail ride through their estate. He kisses her, eyes telling her how much he needed this and after a quick wardrobe adjustment, they’re in the stables saddling up a horse to ride double down the worn old trail.
Elizabeth’s never been comfortable on horses so to have her husbands strong chest against her back is more reassuring than ever. They ride together in comfortable silence until they reach the spot they’ve marked out to be their own. Its worth the extra trip to the shops when she sees Drake’s eyes widen after pulling out the ingredients to his favourite dessert: graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate and he wordlessly pulls her into a hug before taking on the very important task of assembling s’mores for both of them.
  5.Giving them a kiss before going to work and they are still in bed.
Still fiddling with his cuffs, Drake makes his way over to their bed where his wife lays fast asleep. After a late night meeting and an even later night romp, Elizabeth Walker is practically dead to the word, hair strewn haphazardly across her pillow, a little drop of drool remaining on the corner of her open mouth. The bed sinks a little as he sits down next to her, affectionately wiping the tiny drop away before leaning down until his lips find her cheek and he presses a gentle kiss there. She hums lightly at the contact and he marvels at how effortlessly beautiful she is even in sleep. That is, until she rolls over and emits a loud snore very uncharacteristic of the Duchess of Atlantea. The sound makes him chuckle a little and he leaves, knowing he’s going to call an hour later to wake her up and make sure she’s not late for her day.
6.Tucking your head into their neck during a hug.
‘Do you think she said yes?’ Elizabeth asks, practically vibrating with excitement as she waited in the parlour with the rest of her friends.
‘I don’t see why not,’ Drake replies, taking a sip of his whiskey. ‘Honestly its Liam I’m worried about. Is he really about to commit to spending the rest of his life with Olivia?’
His wife elbows him in the ribs about to chastise him when the doors open and their friends walk in side by side. There is a moment of anticipation that stretches out until Liam raises her hand to reveal a huge glittering ring resting on her finger.
‘She said yes!’
The whole room erupts into cheers as hugs and congratulations are exchanged. Olivia struggles to contain a smile as she’s embraced by her friends, unable to take her eyes off Liam as Drake pulls him into a hug. A loud pop goes off in the background as Maxwell beheads a bottle of champagne in the background and drinks are passed around. After they’ve recounted the story of the proposal at least eight times, someone switches on the old record player in the corner of the room and Etta James’ At Last starts to play. Liam offers his hand to his new fiancee and the two gently glide together.
Elizabeth is watching the scene in complete happiness for her friends when Drake’s strong arms encircle her waist from behind, tucking his head into the crook of her neck as they watch the pair share a tender kiss. She’s happy that Liam’s finally found the love he deserves and she couldn’t be more grateful to have her own husband right there with her.
‘Took him long enough,’ Drake murmurs into her ear, tugging her closer.
’Like we can talk,’ she whispers back, still smiling at the memory of their own love story.
‘I wouldn’t have changed a thing.’
’Not even the part where we almost died numerous times?’
His chuckles delightfully ripple across her neck. ‘Okay maybe I would have changed that. But now I believe my wife owes me a dance.’
Elizabeth turns to grin up at him. ‘For you my love, anything.’
7.Lightly kissing on top of a freshly formed bruise.
‘Muuuuum!’ Cameron’s voice follows the sound of the front door slamming. ‘Muuuum where are you?’
Elizabeth hurries downstairs as her twelve year old son continues to yell for her, surprised that they’re back so soon from the father-son soccer match at the palace. ‘What’s wrong Cam? Why are you back so ear-Oh!’
Drake glances up sheepishly at where she’s paused on the staircase, one of his arms is resting heavily on his son’s shoulders, favouring his right leg where his ankle is red and swollen.
‘Its not as bad as it looks.’
‘Yeah sure,’ she replies sarcastically, rushing down to take sling his other arm over her shoulder. ‘Do I want to know what happened?’
’S'nothing just a little trip. I’ll be fine tomorrow.’
Elizabeth turns to her son. ‘Cameron?’
‘He was jostling Uncle Liam for the ball and they both wouldn’t give up and slipped in the mud. Aunt Liv was furious.’
‘I bet she was.’ Elizabeth rolls her eyes. ‘Go shower Cam. I’ll handle this.’
‘I’m fine,’ Drake begins to protest but is silenced with one look from his wife as she settles him to the nearest chair and reappears with an ice pack. She presses it to the swollen ankle as he hisses at the cold.
'I guess this would be the part where you say 'I told you so'?' he ventures.
'Correct,' she replies before sighing. 'What am I supposed to do with you Drake?'
'Kiss it better?'
She rolls her eyes at him and snorts. 'If you think I'm going to put my face anywhere near that stinky foot of yours you've got another thing coming.'
But Elizabeth does end up kissing it better. Only after she's helped him shower and change, before bed when she's wrapping his foot in a bandage where underneath a spectacular bruise is forming. Drake is almost asleep when he feels the soft touch through the material and gives her a soft smile.
'All better.'
8.Buying them something unrequested because it made you think of them.
‘Now do you see why Mummy got mad Darce?’
‘Yes Daddy.’
Drake watches his ten year old daughter hang her head in shame as the pair of them cruise the aisles of the grocery store. Darcy had the bad habit of leaving her soccer boots in the hallway after she cam back from practice and despite Elizabeth’s countless reminders to put them away, the shoes continued to remain strewn on the floors, mud and dirt around them.
Today however Elizabeth had reached her final straw when she’d almost tripped over them while carrying a sick two year old Cameron and Darcy had gotten a well deserved yelling. His wife took on more of a disciplinary role in their family after they’d both decided that despite being future dukes and duchesses, their children should still learn to clean up after themselves, this was a non-negotiary thing. Tired and stressed from court and with the added element of caring for a sick child, Elizabeth had probably ripped a bit too hard into their daughter and realising the situation was about to go south, Drake had stepped in and whisked his eldest out of the house to get dinner. On the way there, he took the time to explain the consequences of her actions and now that she walks silently next to him, he can’t bear to see her so sorrowful, knowing she was still beating herself up inside about it.
Breezing by the freezer section, something catches his eye. ‘Say Darce, you know what would make Mummy really happy?’
‘What?’
He points over to the racks. ‘A tub of her favourite ice cream.’
Later after dinner, the look on Elizabeth’s face says it all when Darcy apologetically presents her with a big tub of Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food and all is forgiven as they all tuck into it together.
9.Bringing them a plate of their favorite sliced fruit.
In her study, Elizabeth is in deep concentration, examining a stack of policies until a plate of slice oranges slides into her view. For the smallest second, she frowns in confusion before looking up to see her husband smiling softly at her. Eyes sliding to the clock, she opens her mouth to apologise, she’d promised to be up an hour ago but Drake makes a dismissive gesture.
‘I’ll be up in ten, I promise,’ she’s serious this time.
‘Take your time, you’re doing important work.’
‘It miiiight be twenty then,’ she ventures, sheepish look on her face after glancing up at him to make sure he’s okay with it.
 He leans down to press a kiss to her head that she can’t help but smile at. The moment he shuts the door, she sets herself a timer and this time Elizabeth keeps her promise.
10.Sitting in comfortable silence while eating a meal.
'That's that I guess,' Drake pronounces to his wife as he shuts the front door and they both look down the long corridor that extends to the empty house.
With Cameron off to college in the States, Darcy living her dream as a professional soccer player and Avery out there discovering herself (provided she sends daily updates to her parents), Mr and Mrs Walker suddenly find themselves with a lot more time on their hands than they used to.
Having decided to have dinner under the stars, Drake turns to watch his wife carefully place the final touches on their meal spread out over the picnic blanket, admiring the way her tanned skin glows under the light of the sunset. Time has coloured silver in her long dark hair, evidence of successfully raising three children which she vainly tries to hide with the occasional visit to the hairdresser but he loves her all the more with every day that has passed.
Feeling his eyes on her, Elizabeth glances up and the pair share an affectionate gaze.
We did good.
Her hand comes up to caress his cheek, the love they’d shared for the last three decades culminating in the gesture and he leans into her touch. No words are needed as they tuck into the meal together, saying more in the silence than they ever could out loud.
Heartbreak
Word Count: 1,054
Pairing: James x MC (Lacey)
Rating: PG
Warnings: Language, mentions death of a loved one
Summary: It’s Lacey’s senior year, and she and James have been together since she was a freshman.  They’re in love with life and in love with each other.  Here, James helps Lacey after the death of a loved one.
Author’s Note: This is my second fic, let me know what you think!
Disclaimer: I do not own these characters, they belong to pixelberry studios.  This is based on The Freshman Series.
“Lacey? Are you home?  I could use a hand with the groceries!” James said, pushing through the door to their apartment.  His arms were full of grocery bags, the one on top teetering as he blindly made his way to the island in the kitchen.  “Lacey?  Where are you babe?”
When he set down the bags he noticed his girlfriend slumped on the floor by the couch, her phone in her hand, her knees pulled to her chest, with her arm around them holding them to her.  A slight sob escaped from her lips, and James rushed over to her.
He knelt down on their shag carpet and took the phone from her hands, seeing that she had just been on a five minute call with her dad.  The time stamp was 2:15, and a quick look at the clock told him she’d been here for over forty-five minutes.
“Hey Sunshine,” he whispered, picking her up and pulling her onto his lap.  She instinctively curled into him, wrapping her limbs around his body, tucking herself under his chin.  His warmth began to envelop her as she continued to cry, letting tears slip down her face.
James felt his heart breaking, seeing the love of his life in this state.  Lacey was always positive and jovial, cracking jokes and enjoying the little things in life.  She rarely broke, but when she did, James was the only person who saw it, or even knew.
As he hugged her more tightly, she began to whimper in his arms.  James’s chest began constricting, as it physically hurt him to see Lacey in pain.  He pulled his head away to look down at her, but she responded by burying her face into his chest.  When she would do that he knew, she didn’t want to talk, she didn’t want him to look at her, she just wanted him to hold her.
They sat on the floor for a long while, just how long, James was not sure.  He still didn’t know what was happening, but he never worried that she wouldn’t tell him.  Lacey was open about everything with him, and he knew she sometimes just needed to break without him trying to fix her.  It had been a long process to get to where he was now, always wanting to solve her problems or understand her fully instead of just being there for her.  But he loved her, and she loved him, and they had been able to communicate to get to the point where James could find her sobbing on the floor and know that she may not tell him what was happening right away.
“Baby,” he whispered, pressing his lips to her hair as her crying subsided.
She tilted her chin up to him and said, “My dad just called.  My grandpa died.”
James took her face in his hands and stroked her cheeks with his thumbs, “I am so sorry, Sunshine.  What do you want right now?”
“I want to go snuggle in bed with you.  And cry.”
“Okay Baby.  Let me go make you some tea, and then I’ll be right in.”
She nodded, and he stood up, with her still in his arms, and carried her back to their bedroom.  He noted she was wearing a nice pair of jeans, and although she had on a slouchy sweater, she could be more comfortable.  She curled into their comforter as he moved to get her sweatpants and red Hartfeld crewneck.  In one swift motion, he pulled off her jeans and she moaned, “Not now James.”
“Shh, I know Baby,” he pressed his lips to her forehead as he pulled on her sweatpants. “Sit up,” he commanded and as she did, he pulled off her sweater and unclasped her bra, pulling her crewneck over her head.
“Lay down and I’ll be right back, okay?”
She nodded and mumbled something into her pillow, curling tighter and tighter into a ball.  James moved into the kitchen and reached for a mug.  When he filled it with hot water, he set it in the microwave for a few minutes, then looked for the tea and honey.  As the timer went off, he found it and finished concocting the tea, then threw in a couple of ice cubes because he knew Lacey wouldn’t wait to drink it and would burn her mouth.  Also knowing that she would get an upset stomach if she didn’t eat something with it, he grabbed a muffin.
The love of his life was sitting up by the time James had returned, and she took the tea and muffin without a fight.
“James?” she croaked as he pulled her close and she rested her head on his chest.
“Yes, dearest?”
“I’m going to miss him so much.”
“I am so sorry, Baby.”
“We always used to watch Twins games together.  Even when I was teeny-tiny, he would put one of his caps on my head, and I would sit on his lap as we cheered them on.  And he always believed in me.  I know he shouted about fake news a lot, but he believed that I could make it better, all by myself.  He would tell me that I had a gift for the truth.  I would always make that my priority, and so he knew I would be a great journalist.  He wasn’t perfect, and I know that, but I loved him so much.”
“None of us are perfect, Lace.  He loved you, and you loved him.  Remember what he said when he met me?”
Lacey let out a soft laugh, “Yes I do.”
“He told me, “There’s absolutely no way that you are good enough for my Lacey girl.” And when I said “I know” he said, “As long as you never forget that you aren’t good enough, you’ll be just fine.” And that was the greatest blessing anyone ever gave me to date you.  He loved you so much.  He still does, wherever he is.”
Lacey nodded and leaned in for a kiss.
“Do you still want to sleep?” he asked softly.
“I want to snuggle.  And maybe tonight, we could watch the Twins game?”
James smiled, laying down and pulling his girlfriend with him.  Even when her heart was broken, she was his sunshine, always choosing the bright side.
Hogwarts mystery my MC story part 3 this will based on the my main character's third year at hogwarts and the summer that follows this story is different from the main story so if there are things that you don't understand go back and read part 1&2.
One week after the Quidditch world cup final all of my friends were staying at my family manor just outside of the muggle city of Manchester we chose to stay here until we went back to hogwarts for our 3rd year me and Penny decided to keep our relationship a secret for now a few people know that we are seeing each other for example Rowan and Ben knew and so did Penny's family on the day our hogwarts letters showed up both me and Penny got letters from our family's my was from my grandparents/ my father's parents telling me that the massive ball/gathering that they normally host at their manor and it was tonight and because they knew I have friends over they said that they are all invited so all of the girls were exitced for it Penny said to me that she will tell me what family said in her letter when we are alone so when all went off to get ready for my grandparents party.
Letter that day we arrived at my grandparents manor and my friends met then for the first time well all but with Penny I want her to meet them with me when all of our friends went of to do their own thing and they did Charlie, Tonks and Merula went off to the dance floor Bill, Rowan and Ben met my dad's brother Tommy and his wife Annie and there 11 year old daughter my cousin Lucy that will be starting hogwarts when we go back. Whilst all that was going on I took Penny by her hand and went over to my grandparents and they met Penny for the first time they asked me does she make me happy and I said "without her I would be half of what i am she is perfect for me and I hope I make her happy too" Penny look at as if she wanted to kiss me but she was able to control her self for the moment my grandparents were happy and I said to us I hope you're both happy together and that you stay together on the way back down to the party was talking my grandfather about my adventures whistles at hogwarts and I feel like I am closer to finding out why Jacob did what he did he my grandfather told me to be careful but he hopes that I can find him as we make are way outside I saw all of my friends having fun so I asked Penny if she wanted to dance with me and she said yes we had a lot of fun and later that night Rowan told us that his twin sister Rowana who used to go to a differnet school than all of will be joining us at hogwarts this along with his younger brother James would be starting hogwarts this year and we all had bets on which house they would be put into along with my cousin I said the my cousin would be in slytherin just like me, Rowan and Merula and that Rowan's twin sister would be in Hufflepuff like penny and Tonks and that his younger brother would be in slytherin i only got one of my guess right so i wasn't to disappointed.
Later that night after we all came back to my manor i was outside in the back of my manor standing over my father's grave because i couldn't sleep it had been 5 and a half years since he died protecting me from voldemort and every single day I have blamed myself for it if was a student at hogwarts then i could of fought Voldemort off with my dad but I knew i couldn't have any regrets because if I did everyone would see me as broken and unable to lead the team in breaking the cursed vaults hold over hogwarts at that point I hadn't told anyone about my dad's death or my mother being a waste of space who left me and never came back because everytime they would ask me about my family I would change the subject or say I didn't want to talk about it which I didn't like doing but I wasn't ready to talk about it then as left my father's grave and returned into the manor I saw Penny sitting on the stairs waiting for me she asked me if I was okay and why I was outside at night told her that I am fine i just couldn't sleep and need to go on a walk i asked Penny why she wasn't a sleep and she said want to talk to me about the letter from her family so we went up in to my room I told sit on my bed and wait for me to come back after i got with my pyjamas bottoms on and no shirt on because it was really hot that night Penny face went bright red for a few moments and then Penny looked at a few scars on my body and was surprised then I asked Penny about the letter from her family before she could ask me about my scars on my body she said to as she moved up to the end of the bed and was sat next to me and said that her mum and dad want to meet me at some point which I was surprised at and I said to Penny that I would love to meet them and I think we should do it when school allows us to go too hogmeade which she was okay with we spend most of the night talking about our future and what we wanted to for work when we finish hogwarts and I said that I wasn't sure and if I had to pick it would be working for the Minstery of magic as a auror or be an professional Quidditch player or teach defence against the dark arts at hogwarts or a professional curse breaker but I wasn't sure but I am sure of one thing I said to Penny and she asked me what that was and I said that I want to be married to her one day and have children with her one day and Penny smiled at me and kissed me for a few minutes after we finished kissing she said to me that she wants that to and I ask her what would her dream job be and she to that she wants to become the potions professor at hogwarts and I said to Penny that she would be perfect for that as a job not long after that we fell asleep in each other's arms.
A few weeks later we were back at hogwarts Rowan twin sister Rowana was placed into Hufflepuff and his younger brother James was placed into Gryffindor along with Lucy and they all became friends with us I also made new friends with Barnaby Lee a fellow Slytherin in my year and he is also on the slytherin Quidditch team as the keeper I made two other new friends in Tulip Karasu and Andere Egwu both of them are in Ravenclaw Tulip is best friends with Tonks and they both love too play pranks on people while Andere on the other hand is a self-appointed style master and is on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team as a chasers also this year I made friends with Chiara Lobosca she is also in same year as me and is in Slytherin she is very quiet and doesn't talk to alot of people but she is a good person so hopefully she'll become a good friend. Later in to the second week of school the Quidditch first teams were name and to my surprise I was named as the vice captain of the slytherin Quidditch team also Merula and Barnaby made it on the team Merula as the seeker and Barnaby as the keeper and Charile was named as the new seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team later that same day me and Charile made a bet with each other that if slytherin win the Quidditch cup this year Charlie would have to come class in a slytherin uniform and if Gryffindor win the Quidditch cup this year I would come to class in a Gryffindor uniform we both agreed to in front of the great hall with everyone watching which got everyone talking. Penny and I had also been on a few dates and we told all of our close friends that didn't know about mine and Penny reatlionship though for example Rowan and Ben both knew already knew and so we told Tonks, Merula, Charile, Bill and Rowana.
We have been back at hogwarts now for about four weeks and I had been preparing for slytherin first Quidditch match of the the school year by training if wasn't on my broom I was training my body to making sure that I am ready if wasn't training I was in class or going on dates with Penny and if me and Penny weren't going on dates we was with our friends. Two weeks before the first game vs Hufflepuff I had herbology and in my class with me were Penny, Merula Rowan, Rowana and Tonks during the lesson a Bogart jump out at Penny taking the from of a werewolf I jumped in front of Penny to protect her and I casted the spell that gets rid of Bogarts by turning it into a clown version of voldemort which made everyone laugh I look down to see Penny's arms warped around my body when I turned around to face her and she had tears in her eyes professor spout dismissed the class and I took Penny to the place I normally go when I feel like I want to be alone. When me and Penny got to the top of astronomy tower it looked like Penny was starting to calm down I sat down asked Penny to sit next to me she looked at me and said "I know your going ask me about my Bogart being a werewolf Niall." I told that I won't ask if you don't want to me to in that moment I decided to open up to Penny about my past I look at her and said "Penny I am going to tell you a story but I going warn you it doesn't have a happy ending." She looked at me confused but she just listen to what I had to say I told her everything that has ever happened to me my father's death by voldemort's hand and I saw watched my father die I told that my mother ran out on me and never came back I told what Jacob was expelled from hogwarts for and the last thing he ever said to me and I tell her about Kenny about how he took in a seven year old boy who lost his family and trained me into the fighter I am and helped me believe in myself again and I told Penny that Kenny is currently in a coma because of death eater and werewolf Grayback and at that point he hadn't been caught yet and so I know what it's like to loss people I care about that why I jumped in front of the Bogart werewolf I did because I don't want to lose you to I could see Penny is crying and she hugs my extremely tight and say to that she is sorry for everything I have gone though and she tells me why she is scared of werewolves and I am stunned to hear that a werewolf murdered one of her friends and if it wasn't for her father being able to kill the werewolf she would have die too I pull Penny into a hug and tell her I love and if she ever needs a shoulder to cry on I'll be there penny kiss me and we then watch the sun go down before it went down me and Penny were talking about music and I told that I love singing Penny laughed and said I can't be that good of a singer so I took out the I pod I got for my 12th birthday from ben and start singing Take That's how deep is your love to her and Penny is surprised after I finished singing Penny tells me that I have a really good sing voice and I walk her back to the Hufflepuff dorms she kiss me and say thanks for opening up to her and for cheering her up and she said to me that I am the best boyfriend she could of hoped for she thanks me for singing to her I say goodnight and make my way to Slytherin dorms.
Two months after I beat Penny's Bogart more Bogarts keep on showing up and scarring students me and most of my friends were able too get rid of most of the Bogarts around hogwarts but not all of them slytherin had won their first Quidditch match of the year beating Hufflepuff and Gryffindor won their first Quidditch match of the against Ravenclaw but the next match was the big one Slytherin vs Gryffindor and it was set to be played just before Christmas. Halloween was fast approaching and Penny and I had finally told our friends that didn't know that we our in a relationship and Penny to say thanks to me for opening up to her and for helping her get over what happened to her friend she help me become an animagus and my animagus form is a tiger.
The night of the Halloween party at hogwarts had arrived I was really excited to spend time with Penny and my friends not long after the party started Ben and Chiara had not showed up yet concerned about his boyfriend Rowan and Rowana went to look for Ben and Me and Penny looked for Chiara and when we found her laying on the ground as we saw three werewolves along with wanted Death eater and the man who injured Kenny and I started to get angry there leader was Grayback the werewolf wanted for murdered of over 20 wizards and witches. For the second time this year I jumped in front of Penny to protect her and I told her to run she stood their shaking in fear so I yelled at her telling her too run and she did I was able to beat all three of the werewolves in greyback's pack really easily and then Grayback turned into a werewolf and charged right at me so I turned into my tiger animagus form and fought off Grayback long enough so that Dumbledore showed up Grayback fell back I had a feeling that wasn't the last time me and Greyback would fight Dumbledore called in the werewolf capture task force in order stop Greyback from attacking hogwarts again and I helped them with there task to stop Grayback the last thing I need is Penny being scared to walk around Hogwarts a few days after Grayback's first attack I learned that my friend Chiara is a werewolf and she asked me for help in make a wolfsbaine potion since I wasn't as good at potions as Penny I would ask Penny if she would help me help Chiara and she agreed she was scared for me but I told that what we're going to make will help Chiara keep control the next time she becomes a werewolf a few nights later Grayback came back with his werewolves and they had Merula, Penny and Chiara in a concerned but I was able too get rid of the three wolves in his pack even more easily than the first time round then turned into my animagus and charged right at Grayback but before I could attack Grayback he hit me so hard that I went flying over twenty feet and slammed into the broom shed on the far side of the training ground I turned back into my normal self before impact he didn't stab me with his claw or bite me he just back handed me so hard I went flying over twenty feet and slammed the massive broom shed and into the wall being knocked out and badly injured from what Chiara told me a few days after I got better that not long after I was knocked out professors Dumbledore and Snape alongside the werewolf capture task force were able to beat Grayback and took him and his followers to Azkaban. I was in a coma for a few days after I came around it was the middle of the night and Penny was next to me fast asleep it looked like was crying whilst I was out I sat there and stroked her hair said to myself thank you for looking after me Penny the next morning Professor Dumbledore along with the school nurse and a doctor from st mungos that saved my life came to see if I made any improvements and when they enter the hospital wing they saw me awake with Penny still a sleep next to me I told them to try not to wake her I did want her panicking Dumbledore rewarded me for protecting the school with 150 house points and a special rewarded for protecting the school not long after that Penny woke up and saw me awake and hug me extremely hard to the point where I was in pain but I dealt with it because Penny was safe and that's all that matters to me she kissed me and said "never scare me like again Niall I was so worried." Penny said to me as she started to cry again and said that "I thought I had lost you their Niall I can't lose you to after I just started to get over my friend being killed by a werewolf I almost lost you my boyfriend I can't go through it again." She said inbetween her tears I held her in my arms for awhile after I calmed her down and the school nurse checked over they let me out of the hospital wing just in time to because Dumbledore had the Halloween party to make up for not finishing the first one and so that the school could thank me.
Before I realized it was Christmas the Quidditch match between Slytherin and Gryffindor ended in a draw and Hufflepuff beat Ravenclaw in there Quidditch match I played in the Slytherin vs Gryffindor match and did okay I wasn't at my best thanks to my injuries that I had received over a month ago but I got though it that the match after the match had finished my friends were talking about what they are going to be doing for Christmas I was going to stay at Hogwarts because I would have nothing to do at home Penny said that she was going to stay with me over Christmas because her mum and dad were going on holiday and the left her younger sister with Penny grandparents and she didn't want to leave me on my own plus she said to me that she's would help me get it to the Hufflepuff dorms if I wanted to see her and it made me happy that I wouldn't be on my own. Merula and Chiara were also going stay at hogwarts because Merula's parents were in Azkaban for being death eaters and she though we would all judge her for that and hate because of their choices but we didn't because it was her parents choice to work for a mad man not Merula's and that why she became friends with all of us while Chiara dad was working out of the country over Christmas this year and her mum is dead so she would be on her own if she went home everyone were going to head home for Christmas and would be back before new years day the after most of my friends went home for Christmas me and Penny went to Hogmeade for a date at the three broom sticks and we had a lot of fun while were there when as we were heading back to Hogwarts I could hear people in Hogmeade singing Christmas carols and I hear Penny humming along to silent night. When we returned to hogwarts we walk to the Hufflepuff dorms and she helped me get in there and I spend most of the Christmas holidays In there with her until are friends come back to hogwarts after Christmas and before new year.
A month later my friends and I discovered that the Bogarts were coming from the next cursed vault and the defence against the dark arts professor who was here at the start of year had left halfway though the year so professor Dumbledore was teaching the class until he found a replacement professor during the lesson we were learning about Bogarts and when I faced my Bogart It showed me one the one thing I want to keep to myself and before that moment the only person that I told was Penny. The Bogart showed the night Voldemort murdered my father and saw how powerless I felt and it broke me on the inside Dumbledore got rid of the Bogart and dismissed the class and I stood there in shock Penny walked over to me and she was surprised to see that I wasn't sad or crying I was just shocked Penny just held me in her arms and professor Dumbledore told me to return to the Slytherin dorms for the rest of the day before left Dumbledore handed me a letter it had my father's hand writing and Dumbledore said to me to read it when I get the chance it might ease my pain and help open up to my friends about my father's death and the rest of pain I've gone though. Not long after I left the DADA class room I thought to myself that Dumbledore has lost his mind me opening up about the pain I've been though I can't afford to my friends need me to be storng for them and Penny needs me to be storng for her I can't afford to fall apart and I can't let everything out because they will see me as broken and that scares me more than anything any Bogart can force me to face. As I head into the dungeons and I see Lucy there she runs up to me and ask me if I am okay and I tell my cousin that I am fine Penny hands a letter over to professor Snape that she received Dumbledore explaining what happened in defence against the dark so Snape know that Dumbledore has told me to take the rest of the day off I asked professor Snape if I can at least have the homework from his lesson today if there were any and he told me that there weren't any so I went it the Slytherin dorm got changed out of my school robes and put on my everyday clothes and I looked over the letter professor Dumbledore had given me it had my father handwriting and are family crested on the back I chose to leave the letter on my bed side table and go for a walk around the grounds of hogwarts and hogmeade for the rest of the day because I need some time to think as I returned to Hogwarts and I saw Dumbledore standing outside and he asked an odd question and it was if I were able to cry over my father's death he told that everyone he cared about and lead into battle against Voldemort and Grindelwald that didn't make it home to their family's and loved ones he mourned all of them remembers everyone that die under his command in both battles and that if I was unable to mourn his death it would hurt me more in the long run as he turned to walk a away he order me to read that letter soon as I returned to my room in the Slytherin Dorms and my first thought was that Dumbledore has lost his mind I can't afford to fall apart and be sad I pick up my father's letter and opened it and was him telling me that knew Voldemort would one day learn the truth about him working for Dumbledore and he had hoped it would be after Voldemort defeated or killed but if he discovers the truth before he is beaten he wanted me to know that he is proud of the person I am going to become and wants nothing than for me to live a life I am proud of after read the letter for the first time in 6 years I start to cry after 6 years of pain comes out and I look up and ask myself I hope you're proud of me father I recomposed myself I put the letter into the draw of my bed side table and for the first in 5 and half years I was able to grieve my father's death.
A few days have passed since then and I am debating whether to tell my friends about my father's death and he rest of the shit that I've been though. I was up In the astronomy tower with Penny I was lying down with my head on her lap and i was thinking to myself should I do tell all our friends about what I've been though if I tell them I don't have to hide behind saying things like I don't want to talk about that or changing the topic of the conversation but the issue is unless I was with Penny who helped me open up about talking about my past I proably would never had opened up and i wasn't very good at talking about what I have gone though but as Penny stoked my long ginger hair she said to me what ever I chose to do she would be there for me i had the letter from my father in my pocket I decide to take it out and passed the letter to Penny I told that it's the letter Dumbledore gave me the other day after what happened in defence against the dark arts Penny opened the letter up and went quiet for a few moments after Penny finshed reading she held me tight in her arms and she told me thats she is sorry for everything I've been though she held my tighter in her arms Penny told me after Potions class when I went to the Slytherin dorm most of our friends and classmates were wondering why my Bogart was Voldemort killing my father Penny didn't say anything because she said that it wasn't her secret to tell she asks me if I am going to tell our friends about what happened to me during the years before I started hogwarts I asked do you think I should and she says to me that it might help me to get over it I tell she right and ask Penny to help me when I do tell all of our friends Penny say that she would because I been trying to helping her get over fears of werewolves by having her become friends with Chiara so if I ever need help with anything Penny would be there for me i kissed her as a thanks for being here with me I got up along with Penny and we went off to find all off our friends.
A month after I told all my friends about what happened to my father and my life after he was killed we had found out where the next cursed vaults is it was in the library we weren't sure at this point but we knew it was there not long after that it was the 14 of February and it was the 6th anniversary of my father's death most the Hogwarts students that are in relationships spend this day with the one's that they love the most and I wanted nothing more than to spend time with Penny but she understood that today isn't a good one for me I got professor Dumbledore permission to visit my father's grave at my family manor and I were there for most of the day talking about my year at Hogwarts so far telling him about Penny and how much she means to me telling him that I missed him and that I wish I could speak with him one more time then saying goodbye until I finished the year before I left to return to Hogwarts I went it to my manor went up to my room and grabbed my guitar I would have taken it with me at the start of the year but I forgot about it so I grabbed it whilst I was there once I return to Hogwarts I went to the Astronomy tower and sat down started to play my guitar what I didn't know was that Rowan, Penny, Charlie, Merula and Tonks saw me going up there thinking was on my own I started singing a muggle song call if you could see me now by the script that is on my i-pod that reminds me of my father and as soon as I finished singing Rowan, Penny, Charlie, Merula and Tonks come up to me and hug me and all of them but Penny were surprised at my singing voice and my skills at playing the guitar they all tell that they want to start a band and they need a lead singer I said to them at I would think about it manly because I don't like showing off plus I did it to stop myself from being depressed about my father being dead because to day is the 6th anniversary of his death Merula and Rowan said that they will try and convince me to join there band but if I don't want to join they won't force to after that I turn to the Slytherin dorm get some rest and to try and discover where In the library the next cursed vaults may be I had a feeling about where it might be but I hoped I was wrong.
The next cursed vault as been discovered and it was in the dark magic area the only part of the library that students were not allowed to enter I knew for a fact that if we were to enter without permission we would be given detention for the a long time next year and the worst thing that could happen is that we are all expelled if we enter without permission so I decided to go to professor Dumbledore and asked him for his help in breaking the curse and told him of all of my finding in discovering the cursed vault Dumbledore was impressed with my observation skills and said he would help me but he has a few conditions we break the curse his way and it's only me, him and Snape that enter the fault that way it keeps my friends out of danger I agree I tell I don't like hiding thing for them but if it keeps my friends safe then I can live with that Dumbledore tells me that I need to train and become the strongest student to ever be at hogwarts because these vaults are really dangerous for the unprepared and Dumbledore said that he will make the most powerful student to be at hogwarts since Tom Riddle, my father and himself which I am surprised at I didn't know Dumbledore held me in such high regard I had no idea why I or other members of my family though out history were so powerful but I had a feeling that my father knew why my family's magic potential is extremely high. After 5 weeks of training under professor Dumbledore and learning how to use the memory walk spell and how to defend my mind for attack from professor Snape Dumbledore said I was ready to take on the cursed fault I had told my friends what Dumbledore had said they said that they would help me get ready for the vault if they weren't allowed in there with me Penny was worried about me to the point where she asked professor Dumbledore if she could come with us but I said no because I wanted to keep my friends safe I needed to know that Penny is safe if I were to lose her in there I would snap I said during my training that i am doing is to keep you, our friends and everyone else safe professor Dumbledore won't let me stop the fault other wise she understood she didn't like it but she understood. I promised Penny that once I've stopped the cursed fault she can take me too meet her family which we still haven't done at that point she told me that the moment me and Dumbledore stop the vault and I come back she'll write to her family and asks them to meet us in the three broom sticks which I was okay with.
The time has come tonight me and professor Dumbledore and Snape are going to be entering the next vault few hours earlier Penny and me were spending time together and she gave me a gifted that I was wearing we I met up with dumbledore and to my surprise professor snape penny got me a big light brown coat that I wore with brown trousers and a white t-shirt as I met up with Snape and Dumbledore the plan was to keep the library clear long enough so that the three off us could deactivate the fault the library was clear as we enter so we didn't need to wait until everyone one left so we walked over to the restricted area of the library Dumbledore opened it up and looked at me and said to me that I am the first wizard of the age of under 14 that has impressed him most young people under the age of 14 keep quiet for most part and those who don't keep quiet don't normally live up to expectations but I have impressed him to the point where he is considering me to become the perfect for Slytherin next year unless should nobody in year above me is worthy of the honour said thanks to the head master and that I would be honoured to be Slytherin perfect not long after our conversation finished we found the entered the fault in there was a Bogart of Voldemort that had manifested to point where it couldn't change it's form like a normal Bogart could and unlike normal Bogarts it could speak to us it was extremely powerful as Bogarts go but Snape, Dumbledore and I were able beat it as we moved it deeper into the vault there were a other pillar just like the one I discovered last year with my friends and once again it was calling to me as I touched it I had a vision of the future along with thinks that are not important to my story I saw where the next cursed vaults is based I didn't know where it were exactly but I knew it was in the forbidden forest as I came out of the vision I told Dumbledore and snape what I saw regarding the next vault Dumbledore had a theory of why I could see visions of the future but wasn't sure at that point in time after we left the vault Dumbledore said that I am making a habit of saving Hogwarts when it needs it most I told him I am just doing what anyone would do and that is doing the right thing no matter what because it's right and I don't need a excuse to help people dumbledore rewarded me for my heroics and honestly with 200 house points for Slytherin and a place in the school hall of hero's which I am still proud of after that I went to find Penny and the rest of my friends to tell them the curse has been broken and the rest of the news of what happened.
A few weeks later and the final Quidditch match of the year had been played both Slytherin and Gryffindor had won their matches against Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw respectfully and before the last two match were played Slytherin had a higher points scored total so for the second year in a row Slytherin had won the Hogwarts Quidditch cup which means Charlie would have to come class in a slytherin uniform and he told me after class had finished for the day that he was never going to make a bet with me involving Quidditch again me and the rest of my friends had a good laugh at that later that same week I finally met Penny's family at the three broom sticks in hogmeade and learned alot more about her they were surprised to learn that I am in Slytherin and her father said to me that I am to good of a person to be in Slytherin I responded by saying "Not everyone that are put into Slytherin are evil and it's the same with Gryffindor not every Gryffindor is a good the best example I can give is Merlin and Morgna because Merlin is one the most powerful wizard and the greatest hero are world has ever known yet he was placed into Slytherin by the founder of Slytherin house himself and Morgna who is the evil witch to ever walk our world was placed into Gryffindor by the founder of Gryffindor so not everyone in Slytherin is are evil Slytherins are just really driven and cunning we know how to get a head in terms of our goals and what we want to achieve." Penny's mother and father we're surprised at how I would defend house and not get angry about it instead I spoke about the positives about of being in Slytherin which professor Snape over heard and rewarded me with forty house points and told me that when I return to Hogwarts to start my fourth year I will be the perfect of slytherin which I was happy about after Snape left Penny younger sister Beatrice said that when she starts hogwarts after the summer she wants to be placed into Slytherin or Hufflepuff because her older sister is in Hufflepuff and she looks up to Penny and the same reason for her wanting to be placed into Slytherin because she looks up to me even though I just met her from what Penny has told her about me has inspired her to be a Slytherin I told her that Slytherin are a house that looks to improve every year which is a good thing but a the filp side it means there will be a lot of expectation on the students in the house especially from the head of Slytherin house professor Snape which she understood not long after that conversation me and Penny returned to hogwarts and I told Penny that the band that her, Rowan, Charlie, Merula and Tonks are forming that I am willing to practice with them and if it goes well I'll make a decision on whether I will join them or not as their lead singer Penny was happy but not strived with my answer I could tell she had a plan that would make me say yes to joining but she would say what that was I took Penny back to the Hufflepuff dorms because it was almost curfew I kissed her goodnight and made my way back to the Slytherin dorm.
A few weeks after meeting Penny's family me,Charlie,Merula, Tonks, Rowan and Penny met up in the training grounds for the band "practise" what surprised me was that they manly played songs from muggle bands and singer's so it help that Ben got me the i-pod for my 12th birthday Merula asked me what song I wanted to do first and I said far away by nickelback whilst we were playing far away a few of our classmates and a few teachers heard us performing and I came to watch then as we played more songs more people kept coming to watch us when we were done the training grounds were almost full with people that came to watch later that night Rowan told me that Penny came up with the idea that if I preform in front of a crowd that enjoys hearing me sing that I might want to join the band and I said back to him that I would join there band as long if they don't make any shows without me knowing about them which he agreed to the following night dumbledore wanted to talk with me about my version I had in the cursed vault I told him that I believe that the next cursed vaults is in the forbidden forest but nothing out of the ordinary has happened yet but I wouldn't be surprised if at some point the becomes active from either us stopping the vault in the library or that something or someone who wants to destroy hogwarts I wasn't sure after saying that to dumbledore he made me an offer that surprised me but I could understand why he did it professor dumbledore headmaster of hogwarts asked me to become his personal apprentice he said that he would train me to be the most powerful wizard hogwarts has ever seen and it is in order to stop the cursed vaults and he tells me about a group that my brother for that Jacob has become extremely dangerous and needs to be stopped it upset me a little to hear that Jacob became evil and I wanted to save him from himself the question is whether he would let me or would he kill me for not wanting to do things his way that got people hurt or worse I agree to be professor dumbledore apprentice and asked him when is my lesson under him teaching going to be and he said to me that it will start we I come back to start my fourth year and as I came to leave for the Slytherin dorm for the night dumbledore asked me to keep me being his apprentice a secret because he didn't want to make the other students at hogwarts to turn on me for being trained by him personally.
A few weeks after I finished my 3rd years at hogwarts my mother came back again this time she had bought my younger sister Megan with her and she came to say she is sorry for everything and that she wanted one more chance to be my mother and that she was wrong to demand anything from me the year before I started hogwarts I told her that me and her that she has been gone way too long for me to give her another chance I would like to have an relationship with my younger sister but me and her are done which she understood my left Megan with me and my Grandparents because at the time I was visiting them and then my mother left again a few weeks later I heard that my mother had taken her life and I was surprised myself at how upset I was she was a waste of space who left me and my father to die and she never came back after hearing that I had survived or after Jacob had been expelled from Hogwarts yet I was still sad that she was gone I never cried over her being dead but I was sad that she was gone.
Later that summer all of my friends and I were at my family manor and we were talking about each other's looks and the way we all dress and Merula, Tonks, Chiara and Tulip said to me that for a boy I have really long hair and asked me when was the last time I have had a haircut I told them them the last time I cut my hair was when I were 9 years old because I prefer to have my hair long and Penny likes the fact my hair is long so I am not cutting it unless I have to we talked all night about anything we could speak of the following morning we all agreed to sleep most of the day because we were up all night and Penny walked towards me after all our friends had left my bedroom and asked me if she could stay with me which I agreed to because I always feel more comfortable when she is with me like I don't have to hide anything from her and she makes me feel not as damaged when I'm with her.
So this of part 3 of my mc story from hogwarts mystery sorry it took longer than I first thought it would to get the 3rd year a few of the summer weeks before and half of the after I'll start work on part as soon as possible I hoped you enjoyed reading part 3.
      Chris had already in his mind every word he wanted to say to Scarlett. He rehearsed it so many times, and despite being a little nervous, he was feeling confident. He was waiting for her in the living room of the suite, with Zack, Brandon, Abbie, Tyler and Kailtyn, to attend the Spring Fling. When Scarlett finally left her room, Chris’ jaw nearly dropped. She was wearing a blue dress made of little pearls, a little transparent, showing pieces of her tanned skin. Her soft brown hair was down, and the bright makeup made her eyes even more beautiful. Chris had no doubt she was one of the most gorgeous girls he had ever met. All of their friends complimented her. And she was indeed stunning. When they were going to the party, Chris reached for Scarlett and walked beside her.
      _You look great, Scarlett.
      _Thanks, Chris – she smiled – you also look great in a suit, but I think I’ve said it before.
      _Yeah, during that party after our fall quarter – Chris would never forget that party. He spent that entire quarter stuck in a stupid promise, even noticing how Scarlett was interested in him. He felt something special when he met her, but chose to keep the promise of being single for the year. And he broke that promise with Becca. The girl who’s always been nasty to Scarlett. And Chris never did anything to protect or defend Scarlett. He chose his side: Becca. He chose to breake the promise with her, not Scarlett. So he was surprised when Scarlett forgave him, and wanted to go to the ball with him. And then, hooked up with him in the roof. He couldn’t be happier, things weren’t lost with the girl he liked. She even introduced him to her mom! And shortly after, they finally became official. Chris was damn glad to call her his girlfriend. She was pretty, intelligent, caring, talented, who wouldn’t want a girl like her? She was so supportive when he decided to run for the student’s body presidency…so it was ironic that their issues were exactly because of it.
     Chris was never so excited about something like he was with the presidency. He was happy to be able to make a difference in the world. But that also meant less time with Scarlett. And despite seeing how she was feeling sad and abandoned, he had duties that he should take care of. Sometimes he thought she was really patient, he himself wouldn’t be like her. But in a moment, she decided it was too much for her, and she broke up with him. Chris was devastated. He was doing the best he could, but that wasn’t enough. Scarlett was tired of being pushed aside. She was being sympathetic to Chris, supporting him, but he wasn’t doing the same. Of course her patience had a limit. She deserved much more than he was doing.
      But again, Scarlett was the kind girl Chris admired. She forgave him again and they were still friends. And the day before, he remembered when he said they could try again when things calmed down, and that’s what he planned to do that night. He could go back to dating Scarlett. He’d say he was really sorry and still cared a lot about her. Things would be fine again. His thoughts were interrupted when Scarlett called him.
      _It’s beautiful, don’t you think? – she asked, grinning, pointing to the party decorations.
      _Totally – but Chris thought that wasn’t as beautiful as her smile – so, ready to party after this hectic quarter?
      _Of course! I’m so ready to have fun!
      _Great - Chris looked around and inhaled deeply - Scarlett, I need to say something… - he looked at her and noticed she was looking forward. Her eyes shining and her smile was wider than before.
      _Uh, sorry, Chris, can we talk later? - she asked still looking forward – I’ll be back soon.
      _Okay – he answered and she walked over to the drink table, almost running, but it was difficult with her high heels. Chris followed her with his gaze and noticed what caught her eye. Zig. The barista. And now the first beneficiary of the Second Chance Program. Chris could see how amazed Zig was when he saw Scarlett. And how amazed she was too.
       The first time Chris saw Zig, he became jealous, especially after realizing the effect he had on Scarlett. She wouldn’t admit it, but he noticed her glances at Zig, in a way she never looked at Chris. And Zig corresponded, he knew Scarlett had a boyfriend and respected that, but he wasn’t blind. The attraction between them was mutual. Chris quickly realized he was losing Scarlett, but he did nothing to change this. On the contrary. He was farther away from her every day. Unlike Zig, who was there when Chris wasn’t. Zig was there when Chris left Scarlett alone during Madison’s party to work on the Second Chance Program. He was there when she was feeling sad after James’ leaving. Chris would never understand why Scarlett didn’t cheat on him with Zig, when she had several chances, and she was feeling so lonely. But he knew the answer: she had an amazing heart and respected the two boys. That wouldn’t be fair to either Chris or Zig. She wanted Zig, but she knew the right thing was break up with Chris first, and that’s what she did.
       Chris kept talking with his friends, but one way or another he looked at Scarlett and Zig dancing together. At some moment, the talk between them changed. Zig looked nervous, and Scarlett was grinning. She stroked Zig’s cheek and kissed him passionately, then he wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her off the floor. Chris felt nauseated. He knew the subject of their conversation. And felt a little angry. He was the one who wanted to ask Scarlett to be his girlfriend! But he had his chance before and wasted. Zig only treated Scarlett the way she wanted and deserved. Of course she would say yes to his ask. Chris knew how much she liked Zig. It wouldn’t be fair for Chris to date Scarlett but her heart belonged to someone else. And it was no one’s fault. Chris walked away from the dancefloor, and did his best to distract himself with something else. He went to talk to his teammates.
        After a while, Chris sat on a bench while his teammates were detting drinks. He noticed footsteps toward him and looked up to see Scarlett. His heart jumped.
        _Hi, Chris! Having fun? – she asked with that sweet expression that was her trademark.
        _Yes, and you? – he made his best to disguise his disappointment.
        _Very much – she replied, sitting next to him – hey, Zig told me about his scholarship!
        _Yeah, I’m glad my idea worked, but I could help him, too – Chris sighed, He needed to ask her, he wanted to know from her mouth - so, you and him…? – she blushed.
        _Yes, we’re together…- she widened her eyes – oh, are you…you know…
        _That’s okay, Scarlett. Actually, that was what I wanted to talk to you about – he took a dee breath – Scarlett, I need you to know that I have no grudge for anything that has happened to us during this quarter. I was very happy when we were dating, and it’s unfortunate that we didn’t work together. You’re an incredible girl and deserve all the best. I hope we can be friends, because it’s so good to have a person like you by my side – he looked deep into her eyes, and she smiled.
         _Wow, Chris, that means a lot – Scarlett hugged him, and he hugged her back. He buried his face in her hair. How he would miss that strawberry scent – and same here. You’re an awesome guy, and I’m very grateful for your friendship. You deserve the best too – Chris wanted to cry, but held determinedly his tears. He pulled back a little reluctantly.
         _Thanks – he smiled – oh, your boyfriend is coming – they looked to the side and saw Zig coming up to them, holding two cups. He gave one to Scarlett. Chris felt a little nauseated again for referring to Zig as Scarlett’s boyfriend.
         _Hey, Chris, it’s good to see you! – Zig smiled sympathetically. Chris couldn’t help but smile back.
         _Is good to see you too. Are you enjoying your first party in Hartfeld?
         _I couldn’t be happier – Zig replied as he pulled Scarlett up, and he kissed her forehead.
         _Well, I can see that Scarlett is in good hands – Chris knew from their gaze how happy they were. He and Zig were getting to know each other and he looked like a nice guy. He would be an awesome boyfriend to her. And Scarlett also cared about Zig, Chris could see it during Zig’s speech. She seemed to look at the most incredible human being she has ever me known. They were really fine – well, I’ll meet the guys. Good night, you two – Chris said as he stood up.
         _Thanks, Chris – they said together, and headed back to the dancefloor. That wouldn’t be easy for Chris, but he was better than he’d imagined. Because he really liked Scarlett. So much that he wanted her to be very happy. Even if it meant she was happy with someone else.
Thanks for reading!
This is a multi-chapter story about Autumn with the Hartfeld Gang. Halloween quickly approaching they attempt to celebrate. As they begin their senior year the dynamics will change like the weather, will they be able to face their fears, both commercial and literal?
Three thick sweaters and he could still feel the cold chill of the autumn air, the brightest color of leaves had already left the trees, only the dying brown leaves remaining, and they were  hanging on by a thread. The dying plants paired with the chill in the air matched the exact feeling Chris had inside. The only reason he’d wanted to stay at Harteld over the weekend was because he dreaded this exact moment. He felt like everything was moving in slow motion watching MC load up the car with far more items then they had arrived with; a product of his mother wanting to send them all the supplies they might need.
MC made trip after trip in and out of the house, everytime she went back in Lily had something else to hand off to her. She wasn’t sure if Chris wanted or needed anything he wasn’t really here right now. She could see him and he was here physically but mentally he was zoned in on something else. This wasn’t the first tome MC had seen him this way. He’d focus his mind similarly before a big game, or an important final. After she loaded the final bag into the car she stepped beside him lacing her fingers through his own. She felt the gentle twitch as the touch knocked him out of his mindset.
“Hey.” Chris spoke with a breath turning his fixed gaze on hers.
MC offered him the smallest smile, she could feel how badly he wanted to stay. “Hey” she was searching his eyes to find him something to look forward to. “Are you ready?” she asked knowing he wasn’t. “We’ve gotta get back, we’ve got midterms to study for and a party to plan!” she added a cheery tone hoping it would help. “I’m going to go say goodbye to your mom, maybe you want to start thinking about talking to AJ?”
Chris nods releasing his hand from hers and turning on his feet back inside the house. His body language almost angry, but she knew he was only disappointed. Chris headed into the makeshift bedroom that his mother had created in the office on the main floor until AJ could walk up the stairs to her own again. “Hey, AJ.” he said staying strong behind his weak emotions. “MC and I are heading out soon.”
“Do you have too?” she didn’t look at him when she talked, she knew she’d cry. She was young but she understood her emotions and she didn’t want to be ashamed of them now.
“Yeah bug, I’ve got too.” he said kneeling down in front of her, “But you’ve got mom, and Kyle.” he added with a smile “And you get to miss a whole week of school!” he added trying to twist this into a positive. “MC and I we’ll be back for Thanksgiving, that's only two months away.” Chris continued to have a basic and saddening conversation with his young best friend before pulling her into a gentle hug
MC paced around the kitchen as Lily sat with her signature coffee cup staring at the young girl who was mostly family now.
“Worried about something?” Lily asks out of her calm demeanor.
“I mean… yeah.” MC laughed with nerves in her voice. Watching Lily pat the seat next to her MC quickly followed suit and sat beside her.
“Speak.” Lily instructed with a heart warming smile.
MC was almost compelled by the mother figure in the room, she told her everything now. “I’m worried about Chris, AJ means so much to him and we both know he lets sadness stay with him for too long.” she started while Lily was quick to respond
“The nice thing about my son is that while sadness is always with in him, his happiness is often much stronger. Give him something to look to and he’ll come around.”
MC nods knowing Lily is right, but that alone wasn’t what  was worrying her. “After college, what’d you do?” MC asks now
Lily looks to her lap now, “I dropped out of college, I followed Frank after his graduation and I moved here. I became a mother, and I’ve been working odd jobs to make ends meet ever since. Why do you ask MC?” she questions now.
“I don’t know what I want to do, where I want to go, but I know…” she holds her tongue nervous about speaking of her and Chris’s future to his mother,
“You know what?” Lily asks in the silence.
“Oh… I know.. I want Chris to be apart of whatever comes next. But I think that scares me. You see all my life I’ve been set up to go to college to learn, to build a career but I’ve never been set up to fall in love.” she admits blush forming on her face.
Lily smiles at the thought of it, “It comes out of nowhere doesn’t it?” Lily laughs. “A piece of motherly advice?” she asks the young daughter like girl before here.
“Sure!” MC smiles easgerly.
“It might be a bit bias here but you’re not the only one worried about the role love will have in you next year, when Chris and I spoke he was scared too...” she smirks admitting to having a similar conversation with her son the night before “But, this is the best kind of fear, because it’s mixed with the strongest of passions. Trust in your love, and yourselves. Be honest and trust him.” Lily takes MC hand gently. “We would be the lucky ones to have a girl like your join our family.” she adds watching MC’s face flush pink.
“Trust.” she repeats, she does trust Chris already but she knows trust will contiue to be a huge part of her life this year. She’d learned the hard way her junior year what dishonesty could do and she didn’t plan on making that mistake. It could have lost her Chris but he was better than her and he followed her threw her dumbest mistakes. “Thank Lily, and thanks for letting us come down for the weekend. He misses you guys.” MC lets her gaze fall on Chris whose now walking toward them.
“And we miss him” Lily answers quickly before reaching to hug her eldest son. “Drive safe, text me as soon as you get home” she demands.
“Of course” Chris answers staying in her embrace for a bit longer, he’d always been a family man and this moment would be no different.
As the two of them said their goodbyes MC offered again to drive, to let Chris sleep and rest for his week to come. The car ride was long but it allowed Chris to dream and to prepare for their months ahead. There wasn’t much conversation in the hours on the road. He leaned his head against the window and listened to MC’s quiet voice sing along to the mix of songs playing randomly from her phone. Life was so simple in this moment, but as the car parked back at Hartfeld reality would have to set back in. Arriving late in the evening on Monday night Chris trudged inside carrying his and MC’s bags while MC brought in the miscellaneous items Lily had sent them with. Upon entering the apartment they were both shocked as their tired eyes perked open.
“Oh my god…” MC smiled setting things down in the corner, she knew Abbie’s artistic handy work when she saw it. Their apartment opened to a livingroom that shared space with the kitchen, along the wall was a hand drawn tree complete with autumn leaves. The leaves blew in the drawn wind, which was really just swirls of color and pattern. Each leaf represented something. As MC stepped past Chris to get a closer look she reached her hands to him to bring him to her side. “Look… they’re memories.”
“Third day in the freshman dorm, Chris Powell ate my left overs. I was so angry I didn’t have a lunch to bring on my long day at class. But he ended up with food poisoning and with out him I would have been down for the count the entire first week of classes. I’m always gonna thank him for that.” -Abbie
“My favorite thing about MC is that she never wants people to be mean to one another, that she stops it the moment it starts happening. Even if it’s playful. As freshman I would mock Kaitlyn for never folding her clothes but MC was always quick to remind me that Kaitlyn’s choices were her own creative decision. I don’t know what I’d do with out her constant kindness.” - Tyler
“Chris and MC have always inspired me, they work through everything together and they know each others strengths and weaknesses as well as they know their own. They are so completely opposite from one another and yet they mold together so perfectly. I’m lucky to call myself their friend. Despite my jealousies in the past I wish them only the best and I miss them every day.” - James
“Look..” MC says pausing on the note from their former friend. “Even James has a leaf” she giggles. James had graduated almost two years ago, he’d stuck around to work at the school but after taking offers in Los Angeles he decided to move. They didn’t hear from him much anymore, but someone had made the effort to get this note from him. It meant a lot to her, and Chris too.
Chris looked around the room skipping over a few leaves with notes and memories attached. His eye caught by one that included a photo. It was of Zack and Chris on the Hartfeld Football feild. “Oh, I didn’t know he even had this photo.” Chris laughed calling MC to his side to read the note.
“The start of sophomore year, fresh off of my breakup, Chris found me out by the fields having a full on panic attack. I’d been so stressed about my love life during Freshman year I’d fallen behind, I still hadn’t really come to terms with the effects that coming out had on my relationship with my parents and I was already crushing on a new boy even though I knew I shouldn't. I was going absolutely crazy. He ditched all of his football friends to stay with me. He gave me advice I’ll live by for the rest of my life. He told me, to be unapologetic-ally me, to let life jerk me around if it hand to but to never change who am because of it. I came out of Sophomore year so much happier than before because I followed his advice. That night Chris and I talked for hours, and we’ve never talked that way really since. But I always know that, that version of Chris is there if I need him. I would never approve of anyone with MC except Chris, because Chris is the kindest and most passionate person I know. - Zack
“I didn’t even know about this…” MC said looking to her blue eyed lover. “Did this really happen?” she questioned knowing that Zack wouldn’t lie.
“Yeah, I was finishing up running a few plays with the guys when I saw him just outside the athletic buildings. I’m not sure what had him over there but I knew something was off. It was a Thursday night, Zack was usually by your side working on homework or watching a movie. He was a mess, just blubbering and talking endlessly. I think he just needed someone to listen you know…” Chris laughs off his embarrassment that this letter brought. He’d never liked being complimented. He didn’t think that kindness deserved compliment. That kindness should be expected from everyone and given to everyone.
MC laid her head on Chris’s shoulder reading again the letter her best friend had left for her boyfriend. “He’s right you know.” she speaks lacing her fingers through his. “You are the kindest and most passionate person.” she repeated the heart felt words on the paper cutout on the wall. “This room is a kindergarten arts and crafts project.” she laughs “But our friends did it for us because we mean something to them. You mean something to them. You give so much of yourself to us and we have all be lucky to be apart of your incredible life. Me most of all”
Chris looks down sheepishly trying to accept the compliment “MC, these memories arent just of me. They are for both of us, but there are some just for you. I try to put my best foot forward I try to be there when I’m needed but it doesn’t always work that way. You see, you’re the opposite you don’t try.. You do. You are always there always listening and always helping. You think it’s going unnoticed but it’s not. Take all of last year for instance. You jeopardized so much of yourself for all of us, to protect all of us.” Chris leaned down and kissed the top of her head following the art on the walls with his eyes. It didn’t stop in the living room it went down the hall in to their bedroom door.
MC pulled Chris by the arm walking down the hallways and opening their room. There was nothing out of place, the room looked spotless. Different then the way MC had left it. In the process of her packing MC had left clothes and homework everywhere. Looking at the room now, he friends had cleaned. It was all still there, but it was just piled nicely. On the bedside table there was a mix of Chris and MC’s favorite flowers with an envelope attached. Chris sat on the bed and pulled MC to his lap as she opened and read the letter.
“Dear Chistopher and MC Powell…” Mc stopped rolling her eyes and feeling Chris’s laughter in his chest. This letter was immediately recognized to be written by Zack. The friend who’d been pushing MC and Chris to marry since the end of freshman year. Ignoring the new change in her own last name she continued reading.
“No ones Senior year should start out as rocky as yours has. We decided to get together to celebrate you both. First we want to let you know that the Halloween Party has officially been taken off your hands. Kaitlyn’s been secretly planning it the whole time anyways. Secondly, we wanted you guys to know just how much you mean to us. Abbie created a mural of the fall season and we included all the memories. Fall will always remind me of Hartfeld and the memories we’ve made and will continue to make. There’s no need to thank us because we’ve done this in thanks to you both. We left you some flowers, because we know how much you both love them (yes Chris you too) MC you are lovelier than a rose, and Chris you are brighter than a daisy. Out little family would be nowhere without you both. This fall is for you guys, because you have both made the last three years for us.”
MC place the letter back on the bedside table. It was a short and sweet but it was enough. This was more than the welcome home she thought they deserved. She didn’t fear the end of the year anymore. She knew everyone would go their separate ways but they would all come back together through out the years. They had to. They were a family.
“Hey...” she spoke softly turning in Chris’s arms to look at his face, remembering the pain it had held over the weekend. “Welcome home.” she smiled
“Welcome home.” he responded softly feeling happy there next to her in the small space they had created together.
Awake at night|| Ryder x Lewis (MC)
A/N: I decided to make Ryder soft. Sorry not sorry. I just wanted some fluff.
--------------------------
Lewis lied in his bed.
Cold sweat ran down his face as he moved in his sleep. He was shaking and quietly mumbling, fighting the will to cry.
Then he woke up.
He took a deep breath and realized he was just having another one of these nightmares. The nightmares he had almost every single night. He didn’t want to go back to sleep.
It was two in the morning, which means that the cameras around the house were off. Lewis was the only one awake...
Or so he thought.
“Lewis?” his roommate, Ryder, suddenly spoke.
“Ryder, why are you awake?” Lewis asked.
“You made a lot of noise when you were asleep.” Ryder responded, sitting on his bed and yawned.
“Sorry.” Lewis said. “I didn’t mean to wake you up.”
“That okay.” Ryder said. “Let me guess- nightmares?”
Lewis was scared to admit it. He thought that Ryder might laugh at him and tell the others.
“That’s okay, man.” Ryder said. “My little brother has them a lot. He’s two years younger than me.”
The fact that Ryder has dealt with people with sleeping issues made Lewis a bit more comfortable.
“Wanna talk about it?” Ryder asked.
“Okay...” Lewis said. “But promise me you won’t tell the others.”
“I promise.” Ryder said.
Lewis took a deep breath and began to tell him.
“Well... I had a twin brother. He was my only friend growing up.” he said. “And... one day, on our way back from school, our bus got into an accident.”
“Oh my god...” Ryder said, looking at him with a worried look.
“I survived the accident... but he didn’t.” Lewis said, fighting the tears that began to fill his eyes.
“Lewis, I’m so sorry.” Ryder said.
“The accident... the hospital... the funeral...” Lewis said. “These moments keep playing in my head on repeat. I can’t go to sleep without waking up, feeling pain or hearing him asking me why I didn’t save him... and...”
“Lewis,” Ryder suddenly sat next to him, pulling him into a hug. “That’s okay. It wasn’t your fault.”
Lewis buried his face into Ryder’s shoulder, allowing himself to cry quietly. He was surprised Ryder cared about him. He was surprised that Ryder is comfortable with crying.
“Why?” Lewis finally spoke after a minute of silence. “Why do you care?”
“Well... First, you are my roommate.” Ryder said. “Second, because it always calms my brother down whenever I ask him about his nightmares. And three, I was kinda acting when the cameras are on.”
“Why would you hide the fact that you are a good person, Ryder?” Lewis asked after he finally calmed down a bit.
“Dude, I have a reputation, you know.” Ryder said and let a giggle to come out.
“Oh, right.” Lewis said.
“Um... If you want, I can sleep here with you tonight.” Ryder said.
“What?” Lewis asked, surprised and blushing.
“Nothing romantic. It’s just how I calmed my brother down, and I guess it can work on you too.” Ryder said.
“I guess that’s okay.” Lewis said, giving him a little smile.
“Okay.” Ryder said, smiling back. “But don’t tell anyone about it.”
“Fine.” Lewis laughed.
The two of them got under the blanket. Lewis felt calm and safe.
“Hey, Ryder?” Lewis asked, feeling tired again.
“Yeah?” Ryder asked.
“Thank you.” Lewis smiled at him.
“You’re welcome, man.” Ryder said. “Now get some sleep. Who knows what mission are we going to have tomorrow.”
---
The two of them kept in touch after the show.
Lewis called Ryder every time he had another one of these nightmares, and Ryder would calm him down.
The two of them became closer and closer and learned more and more about each other in every talk.
One night, Lewis went to one of Ryder’s shows.
Usually, Ryder sang a song he wrote about one of his ex-partners, but this time it was different.
He sang about nightmares. The type of nightmares that keeps you awake at night, And the story was about Lewis’ nightmares. He didn’t say it was about Lewis’ nightmares, but the story was about it. The crowd seemd to love the song and some of them sang along to the lyrics.
After the show, Lewis went to Ryder.
“Lewis!” Ryder said. “Did you enjoy the show?”
instead of answering the question, Lewis hugged Ryder tightly with tears in his eyes.
“Thank you.” Lewis said.
“Thank YOU, Lewis.” Ryder said. “I guess I could say you were my inspiration.”
Lewis laughed a bit and looked into his eyes.
Ryder could feel himself blushing at the short one’s soft smile and shiny eyes. His heart skipped a bit.
“Uh... I was planning to go visit my brother after the show.” Lewis said as the smile was replaced with a sad face.
“Would you like me to come with you?” Ryder asked.
“That would be nice.” Lewis said, holding the rock star’s hand gently.
---
The two of them reached the graveyard.
It was late at night and the stars were shining around the full moon.
Lewis stood right in front of a gravestone carrying the name “James Archer”.
“So that’s your brother’s grave?” Ryder asked, putting his hand on Lewis’ shoulder.
Lewis nodded in respond.
“You know, he also wrote poems. A lot of them.” Lewis said. “The creepy part was that one of them was about him dying in an accident.”
“What?” Ryder laughed.
“Yeah. That’s spooky.” Lewis laughed a bit at this ironic fact.
“Hey,” Ryder said as soon as Lewis’ smile was replaced with sadness. “I’m sure he would be proud of you. I mean, you got into a reality show and almost won.”
“I think you two would’ve get along great.” Lewis said, giving him a sad smile. “And he’d probably thank you for calming me down.”
“Should I be flattered?” Ryder asked.
“Maybe.” Lewis said, holding his hand.
Ryder tightened the hold a bit, feeling his heart beating fast.
“I’m glad I have someone to be awake at night with.” Lewis said, smiling at Ryder.
Ryder pulled him into an embrace, kissing his forehead.
“Me too.”
Senior Night (Chris x MC)
Summary: It’s Senior night for football, and Chris is nervous about impressing Jerry (MC) and some NFL scouts.
Rating: PG
Tumblr media
Senior night. The biggest game of the year besides homecoming. Chris wasn’t looking forward to this being the last home game that he would ever get to play at Hartfeld. To be perfectly honest, he was nervous as hell. He had a lot riding on this game, including scouts from many of the country’s best NFL teams. He had heard rumors in the past few weeks that they were going to be there for him, but they weren’t who he was trying to impress. He was trying to impress Jerry.
While Jerry had always said that he didn’t need to work so hard to impress her, he wanted to do it. He wanted to get drafted into the NFL so he could provide the best life possible for her. He wanted her to have anything she ever dreamed of, and for him, he dreamed of her. He loved her so much more than he had ever loved anyone else, and he didn’t ever want her to forget that.
Zig came up behind Chris and put his hand on Chris’s shoulder. “You ready, Cap?” he asked.
Chris let out a sigh and ran his hands across his face. “Ready as I’ll ever be.” Chris took a breath, standing up to face Zig. “Zig, can I tell you something?”
Zig nodded. “Of course, you always can.”
Chris took a breath. “That day, when we met in the coffee shop, I never thanked you. You stood up for Jerry, and I can never thank you enough. Then, you and her started getting close, and I got a little jealous.”
Zig laughed a little. “Why?”
Chris looked down at the floor. He let out a sigh. “Because, well, I knew how busy I was going to get, and then things got rough there for a bit. I wasn’t giving her enough attention.” Chris looked back up at his best friend. “And look at you.”
Zig laughed and slapped Chris on the back. “She loved you, and she still does. You had no reason to be jealous.”
Chris laughed. “I actually needed to talk to you about something else, too. I’ve been Captain for three years now, and next year, I need someone I trust to step up and take my place. I want that to be you.”
Zig’s mouth dropped. “Are you serious!?!” Zig scooped Chris up into a hug.
When Zig let go of Chris, he stepped back awkwardly. “I take it that’s a yes.”
“It’s a hell yes.” Zig smiled.
Meanwhile, the rest of the gang had gotten special clearance to sit on the sidelines. Kaitlyn had already sung the National Anthem, Jerry was there for the news, and others snuck in with them. James, working at Hartfeld now, was allowed down there already.
Abbie shivered, and Tyler wrapped a blanket around them for them to share. “Do you think Chris is ready for this?” Abbie asked.
Jerry shrugged. “He wants to go pro so bad, and there’s a lot of scouts here tonight. I really hope it works out well for him.”
“I think it’s more of him trying to impress you.” Zack states. He took a drink of his soda. “He wants the best for you, and if going pro means that, then he’ll do it at any cost.”
“I really don’t want him to sell out and get hurt.” Jerry sighed. She knew in the back of her mind that Zack was right. Chris would do anything for her. It was a wonderful trait, but a terrifying one at that. While it was nice he’d do anything, she feared for his safety.
James spoke up. “Chris will be careful.” Jerry slowly nodded. I hope so.
A little while later, the team took the field, and Chris jogged over to where the group was sitting. Jerry stood up and wrapped Chris into a big hug. He kissed the top of her head.
“You ready for this?” she asked him. He smiled and kissed her forehead.
He nodded. “I’m as ready as I’ll ever be.”
She stood on her toes and kissed his soft lips. Jerry pulled back with a smirk and lowered her voice. “Either way, you’re going to be winner at some point tonight.”
Chris smirked. “I like the sound of that.”
“Now, go get them, Cap.” She smiled. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.” He smiled. He kissed her on the forehead and ran over to the team.
Jerry sat down between Abbie and Kaitlyn, letting out a big sigh. Kaitlyn put her arm Jerry, knowing something was wrong. “Are you okay, bud?”
Jerry looked up at Kaitlyn, tears in her eyes. “I don’t want to loose him.” her voice cracked.
Kaitlyn stroked Jerry’s arms. “You’re not going to loose him. What’s gotten into you?”
Jerry took a breath, trying to calm herself and stop the tears. “A guy I dated in high school, we dated for about a year. He was a year older than me, and he got a college scholarship to a local school. He was the starting QB as a freshman. The last game of the season, he got hit pretty hard. He broke part of his neck, bruised a few ribs, and got a concussion. He...” she took a breath, and the tears fell. “He didn’t remember who I was. I showed him pictures, I told him stories. Nothing worked.”
Abbie pulled Jerry into a tight hug from one side, and Kaitlyn from the other. “Awe, Jerry... I’m so sorry.” Abbie whispered. “Does Chris know?”
The hug broke and Jerry shook her head no. “How could I tell him? Say ‘Hey Chris, I know how much you love football and you’ve dreamed of going pro, but I don’t want you to do that because I don’t want you to forget who I am. I love you and thanks for understanding.’“
Kaitlyn rolled her eyes. “Chris would understand that you’re scared for him.”
Jerry sighed and wiped her tears away. “Can we just focus on the game right now?”
It was now nearing the end of the game, five seconds left, and Hartfield had the ball. Two yards. Down by one point after the last touchdown. Chris had a plan, and he needed Zig for it. The team huddled up.
“Zig, I’m going to need you to get the ball in.”
Zig nodded. “Sure thing, Cap.”
The huddle broke, and Chris gave the signal to go. He faked the ball off to one of the teammates, and then passed it behind his back to Zig. Zig leaped over the other team's defense and into the end zone. Out of the corner of his eye, Chris saw one of the linemen for the other team come barreling at him. Time seemed to slow as he braced himself for the tackle.
Meanwhile, Jerry watched the whole thing unfold from the sidelines. She saw Chris go down, but she didn’t see him get back up. Paramedics ran onto the field to where his lifeless body lay.
“Chris!” she yelled. She stood up and started to run, but James and Becca held her back.
Tears rose up in her eyes. “That’s not going to help.” Becca said, trying to calm her down.
“Let go of me!” Jerry yells. James pulls Jerry into a hug and she pulls them onto the ground as she cries into his chest. While not looking, the medics place Chris onto a stretcher and carry him off the field.
Zig came running over to where the group is. “Jerry!” he yells.
She looks up, mascara down her cheeks and her eyes bloodshot. “What happened?” Jerry said between breaths.
“I don’t know, but I’m going to go find him,” Zig said, helping her to her feet.
The two of them took off running across the field, ignoring all the others on the field. They ran by the press and the other members of the team. They ran down the same tunnel they had taken Chris. Zig took a left, and there was a group of people outside a door. Above the door, a sign read ‘Medic’.
The two slowed, and one of the men looked up at the two of them. “I’m sorry Zig, but there are no visitors right now.”
“Please, sir, please let me see him...” Jerry begs, tears rolling down her cheeks.
The man inspects Jerry, unsure of how to react to the mess standing in front of him. “Who are you?”
“I’m Jerry. I’ve been dating Chris for almost four years now. Please, may I see him?” She asked kindly, even though she wanted to scream.
The man nodded. “Chris has told me a lot about you. He says you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him.”
Jerry interjected the man. “To be frank right now, and I mean no disrespect, but I just really need to see him.”
“Why do you need to see him so badly, besides the fact that he’s your boyfriend?” He asked.
Jerry glanced at Zig. “Zig, please don’t tell anyone, but I’m pregnant...”
The man and Zig both gasped, and the man moved to the side to allow Jerry into the room. She went in alone, and she found Chris on a cot, his leg covered in ice. He wasn’t unconscious, which seemed like a good sign to Jerry.
He looked up from his phone at her. “Well, we won...”
She went and sat down by him, resting her head on his chest. He wrapped one arm around her and rubbed his thumb in tiny circles on her arm. “Chris, I thought I lost you. I was scared.”
“I’m tougher than I look.” He joked. She looked up at him.
He had never seen her so vulnerable in their time together, and in all honesty, it scared him. Jerry had never been one to be weak, let alone cry. The last time he had seen her like this was right after the car accident. He knew that she was truly scared of loosing him.
“Why were you crying?” He asked, rubbing some of the mascara stains off of her face. Jerry, then, explained the whole ordeal that happened to her high school, and he understood.
“I can’t play anymore...” Chris said.
Jerry looked up at him. “Is it me? Chris, I don’t want to be why you can’t play.”
Chris shook his head no. “You see, Jerry, the dream I always had when I was a kid was to play pro football, and it was for a long time. Now, my leg is so screwed up, I can't even finish this season. A part of me will always want that, but there’s a safer way to do it, like coaching.”
“Why are you talking past tense?” Jerry asked.
Chris smiled, kissing her forehead. “Because you’re my dream now.”
Jerry couldn’t help but smile. “Well, I guess both of us will have to be your dream...”
“Both?” Chris asked.
Jerry smiled. “Yeah, you know, me and this little guy or girl.” She points to her stomach.
Chris let’s out a big whoop and scoops Jerry onto his lap. He kisses Jerry’s lips, and then he kisses her stomach. “I’m going to be a dad...”
Jerry laughed. “Yeah, and an amazing one at that.”
“Well... Jerry, I was going to wait until tomorrow, but in my bag, there’s a box with your ring in it.” Chris states, pointing to the corner.
“I love you.” Jerry smiles.
Chris leaned forward kissing her cheek. “I love you more.”
“I love you most.” She replies.
“Impossible.” Chris smiles. He then kisses Jerry’s stomach again. “That goes for you too, little guy or girl.”
