Although People Magazine is aligned with The Meghans, they could not ignore Catherine & Charlotte's mini me moment at the Coronation.
Tumblr media
The Princess of Wales and her only daughter, Princess Charlotte, were featured in the number four (4) spot of 2023's Top 10 Style Moments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What People Magazine should have printed: "Both the Princess of Wales and her daughter wore headpieces that featured three-dimensional leaf embroidery created by milliner Jess Collett for Alexander McQueen. Both made with silver bullion, crystals, and silver thread. A spectacle from every angle, the Coronation chignon, which mimicked the intricacy of her silver leaf headpiece, epitomised regal modernity." Quote from fashion Blogger
Even Omit's former employer, Harper's Bazaar dropped "Kate Middleton": "The princess' hair is styled in an elegant updo and she does not wear a tiara, as was previously expected; instead, she wears a Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpiece with silver bullion, crystal, and a silver threaded three-dimensional leaf embroidery. She wears the jewels with an Alexander McQueen dress in ivory silk crepe with silver bullion and embroidery featuring rose, thistle, daffodil, and shamrock motifs. Over it, she wears a blue formal robe, at the monarch's request."
Tumblr media
No one in the US will purchase The Meghans covers. In order to sell their stories, The Prince & Princess of Wales are typically pictured alongside any Sussex reports. Unfortunately Omit's voice seems to be the silent (royal) contributor for many US reports.

King Charles III will reuse vestments which featured in the Coronation Services of King George IV in 1821, King George V in 1911, King George VI in 1937 and Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, including the Colobium Sindonis, the Supertunica, the Imperial Mantle, the Coronation Sword Belt and the Coronation Glove.
The Monarch is invested with the Colobium Sindonis after the Anointing. It takes the form of a white linen shift-like tunic, and a plain collar fastened with a single button, intended to represent a priests' alb. The King will use the Colobium Sindonis worn at the Coronation of his grandfather King George VI at Westminster Abbey on 12th May 1937, which was made by the robemakers Ede & Ravenscroft.
The Supertunica takes the form of a full-length, sleeved gold coat and is worn under the Imperial Mantle. The Sovereign is invested with the Supertunica following the Anointing and it is fastened with the Coronation Sword Belt.
Tumblr media
Although this Supertunica dates from the twentieth century, the form of the Supertunica has changed little since medieval coronations. The design of the Supertunica is based on priestly and religious vestments.
Each side of the front of the Supertunica features an embroidered band with spiral threads, which take the shape of leafy stems using the goldwork technique. The embroidery was carried out in 1911 by the Ladies Work Society and, as part of the centuries-old tradition for the Supertunica, is based on ecclesiastical vestments from medieval times.
Tumblr media
The Imperial Mantle is worn over the Supertunica and is more similar in design to a robe. The Imperial Mantle being used by the King at this year’s Coronation was made for the Coronation of George IV in 1821, and has been worn by King George V, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. It is the oldest vestment being used in the Coronation Service.
The Imperial Mantle is made of cloth of gold, gold, silver and silk thread, silk, gold bullion fringe and a gold clasp. The cloth of gold is woven with roses, thistles, shamrocks, crowns, eagles and fleurs-de-lis. The gold clasp is in the shape of an eagle, which can also be seen on the newly created Anointing Screen, and in the form of the Ampulla which will hold the Chrism oil.
Tumblr media
The Imperial Mantle was made by the tailor John Meyer in 1821 and the Royal Goldsmiths to George IV, Rundell, Bridge and Rundell supplied the gold eagle clasp.
The Girdle, also known as the Coronation Sword Belt, is made of cloth of gold, and embroidered in gold thread with arabesques and scrolls. It is lined with dark red silk, with a gold buckle stamped with national emblems (roses, thistles and shamrocks) and a gold clip for attaching the Jewelled Sword of Offering in place.
Tumblr media
During the Coronation Service, the Sword Belt is placed around the Supertunica. The Jewelled Sword of Offering is then 'girded' or fastened at the Sovereign's waist using the Sword Belt. The Archbishop presents the Sword to the Monarch while saying that it should be used for the protection of good and the punishment of evil. The Sword is then removed and placed on the altar in Westminster Abbey, before the Sovereign is invested with the Imperial Mantle.
Historically the Sword Belt is supplied new by the Worshipful Company of Girdlers for each Coronation. His Majesty has chosen to reuse the Sword Belt made for the Coronation of his grandfather, King George VI, on 12th May 1937.
The Coronation Glove or gauntlet is made for the Sovereign’s right hand. It was presented by the Worshipful Company of Glovers, made by Dents the glovemakers, and embroidered by Edward Stillwell & Company in 1937. This Glove has been conserved by Dents with support from the Worshipful Company of Glovers and re-presented by the Company ahead of the Coronation on 6th May.
The Glove is worn to hold the Sovereign's Sceptre during the Crowning and then removed before processing to the Throne Chair. At the Coronation on 6th May, the Coronation Glove will be presented to His Majesty by Lord Indarjit Singh of Wimbledon.

She had succeeded.
The Trial of Position went over with very few problems. Katrina nearly doubted herself with how well it had gone - was it truly as easy as that? Was her cluster now free of the command structure, free to pursue everything on their own merit?
Staring into the darkness of the cockpit glass of her custom Iron Cheetah, the Star Colonel breathed deep. Currently her cluster were in low orbit over an inconsequential planet - a periphery world they were about to free from their pirate problem in exchange for some germanium bullion (on insistence of the abtakha in her command star) and supplies for the long haul down to Helios.
Information told them that the pirates had no anti aircraft systems, meaning there was little to no requirement to try to juke any incoming attacks during the drop. That made life simpler and solved quite a few problems that nobody in the cluster wanted to try to finalize just yet.
But as Katrina’s OmniMech sat in its drop cradle, she had a momentary crisis of faith. Would the drop cocoon hold? Did the Cheetah have enough reactive mass to survive the drop? Was her piloting suit enough to counteract the G forces?
The loud THUNK of the detaching maglocks blew away any concerns. It didn’t matter any more. At this point it was do or die, 100 tons of OmniMech plummeting feet first into hell.
The wait was agonizing. Temperature gauges slowly rose as the ablative cocoon around the drop pod soaked the heat from reentry, beginning to glow and then deflagrate and flake away.
BANG! The explosive locks blew, the drop pod around the Iron Cheetah splitting into five sections and drifting away. Light finally pierced the cockpit, revealing a snowy and mountainous region. The display inside of Katrina’s neurohelmet clearly showed the target beneath her command star - a FOB, though the specific details were blurry at this altitude and velocity.
But those details had been memorized beforehand. A lance composed of third succession war era IS light and medium BattleMechs. A lance of combat vehicles. Some infantry and some support vehicles.
They weren’t ready for 400 tons of clan Omni- and BattleMechs.
Katrina flickered her focus over to the other four ‘Mechs, surrounded by a hail of fire.
Abtakha Warrior Violet Marigold, in her Phoenix Hawk IIC 7.
Trueborn Warrior Brune, in his Dire Wolf C.
Freeborn Warrior Duram, in their Timber Wolf TC Custom.
And finally Trueborn Warrior Gregory in his Hammerhead Custom.
Alarm whistles blared as they reached the brake height and in unison all five of them set their jumpjets to full. The Iron Cheetah rattled violently as the reaction mass powered thrusters screamed to slow the assault mech for its landing.
Then touchdown. Immediately, Katrina threw her weight into her controls, barking commands into the command star’s commnet.
“Destroy all pirate assets! Pounce upon those who would escape!”
[OOC: And for those who are interested, the drop theme below.]

A 294 A.D 10-Aurei Gold Medallion of Roman Emperor Diocletian
A unique gold 10-aurei medallion of Roman emperor Diocletian sold for $2.3 million in Classical Numismatic Group’s Jan. 10 and 11 auction.
The medallion measures 38 millimeters across and weighs 53.65 grams, or about the same diameter as an American Eagle silver bullion coin, but nearly twice as heavy.
According to CNG, “This magnificent medallion of Diocletian ranks among the largest denomination Roman Imperial gold medallions in existence and is a masterpiece of late classical portraiture. A gold multiple of this size and artistry, termed a denio in numismatic circles, represented vast wealth at the time of issue and must have been created for a special occasion.”
Gaius Valerius Diocletianus instituted many reforms, including in 294 the implementation of a new system of coinage. The year 294 also marked the 10th anniversary (decennalia) of Diocletian’s reign and the enlargement of the ruling class.
As part of the coinage change, to accommodate the flood of new coinage, new mints opened, including one at Aquileia, where this medallion was struck.
It is graded Choice About Uncirculated by Numismatic Guaranty Co., which assigned it a 5/5 for strike and surface.
“Here, then, is the historical context for the striking of this impressive denio, no doubt intended as a handout to a military officer of high rank,”.
At least four other 10-aurei medallions of Diocletian alone are recorded, all in museum collections. This includes two other examples of the same type and similar weight, but struck at the Alexandria mint.
This was the only denio offered at public auction since 1922, according to the firm.
Diocletian (242/245 – 311/312), nicknamed "Jovius", was Roman emperor from 284 until his abdication in 305. He was born Diocles to a family of low status in the Roman province of Dalmatia. Diocles rose through the ranks of the military early in his career, eventually becoming a cavalry commander for the army of Emperor Carus. After the deaths of Carus and his son Numerian on a campaign in Persia, Diocles was proclaimed emperor by the troops, taking the name Diocletianus. The title was also claimed by Carus's surviving son, Carinus, but Diocletian defeated him in the Battle of the Margus.
Weakened by illness, Diocletian left the imperial office on 1 May 305, becoming the first Roman emperor to abdicate the position voluntarily. He lived out his retirement in his palace on the Dalmatian coast, tending to his vegetable gardens. His palace eventually became the core of the modern-day city of Split in Croatia.

yall, y'all, there's a whole part in this book where Harleen's trying to hold little group therapy sessions with some of the female inmates and Ivy is one of them and in the last session Harleen gets drugged via her tea and while they're all originally against her, Pamela saved her in the end after her defense and adamant protests to the idea she was using them.
Tumblr media
I’m hallucinating. It didn’t happen. “Oh, but it did happen,” Pamela Isley said, no longer bored. “You’re not hallucinating.”
How did I speak aloud and not know it, Harleen wondered, watching as Pamela got up from her chair.
Pamela was smiling as she came toward her. “Did you know that roots can break through metal pipes buried in the ground? Even crack the foundation of a house?”
Tumblr media
All the women were getting up now. Then Pamela was looming over her, with more vines growing out of her hair. Harleen’s cup slipped out of her fingers and fell on the carpet with a distant thump.
The tea, Harleen realized.
Tumblr media
“You know, I’m a doctor, too, even if it’s not the kind you are,” Pamela said. Her low voice was practically a purr but there was nothing soft about her expression. “Brand new Dr. Harleen Quinzel. It’s so obvious this is your first job.” She gave a short laugh. “What did you tell yourself you were doing—trying to make a difference? Striking a blow for the looney sisterhood? Or can you actually admit you want to use us Looney Ladies of Arkham to get famous by writing a trashy true-crime book?”
Tumblr media
“No! Stop!” Harleen pleaded. It was an enormous effort to speak but she had to get through to them. “I didn’t want to use you—I wanted to show how you’ve all been used! By the police! By the justice system! And most of all by Batman!”
Tumblr media
Harleen saw Pamela Isley push herself in front of the other women just as everything went black.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“How did I get out of there in one piece?” she asked.
“Pamela Isley,” Dr. Leland replied, refilling the glass for her. “She saved you.”
Harleen shook her head, thinking she hadn’t heard right. “No, Isley was the ringleader,” she said, sipping the water more slowly this time. There was still a funny taste in her mouth from the tea, or whatever it had been. “She freed the others so they could all attack me.” She felt for her necklace and discovered it was still around her neck: another miracle. “Mary Louise was hitting me with this incredibly heavy doll when I passed out.”
Tumblr media
“The doll’s head was stuffed with rocks,” said Dr. Leland. “Pamela Isley loathes and despises all of humanity, singly and as a species. But apparently she loathes and despises you less than everyone else. Quite a lot less. She held off the others and called for help. All four are confined to their cells indefinitely. And, needless to say, they won’t be participating in any more group sessions. Nor will any other patients.”
Tumblr media
“But I don’t want to look weak,” Harleen said. “I won’t have any credibility with the patients if they think Pamela Isley can knock me on my butt whenever she wants.”
“Don’t worry about Poison Ivy,” Dr. Leland told her. “Remember, she hates you less than the rest of us. That’ll work in your favor. A lot of inmates follow her lead, and they’re not all women.”
And then when that stupid rose shows up in her office, she's thinks it's from Ivy at first and I'm
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was meant to bring her joy. It seemed like forever since anyone had done something like that for her.
Get a grip, girlfriend, said a small, sensible voice in her head. It’s a flower, not a pile of gold bullion or the Hope Diamond or even a pay-raise. Did you notice that’s a plant? Remind you of anyone?
All the little hairs on the back of Harleen’s neck stood up. Would Pamela Isley—Poison Ivy—try something else so soon? Or was it a peace offering? Sorry we tried to kill you. I won’t let it happen again.
Oh, God, what if Poison Ivy didn’t merely not hate her but wanted to be friends? What would that be like?
Imagine.... imagine how things would be different if it was from Ivy and it was a like little potted Rose plant (so the little plant would actually be alive) I cannot, I physically cannot function
