Ik we said that in Black Moth, Bruno would be leaving like in canon and all but... but if I may suggest... I really like the idea of him staying and Mirabel sorta becoming part of his family specifically, under his branch in the family rather than Julieta's, even though they are both her parents. It's not a sudden change and no one decides that's what had to happen, but she found Bruno's refuge in the walls one day, and now they kinda hang out there whenever Alma is mad. At some point, she may get into her head the idea that her mother would be better off without her. She already feels excluded by her half sisters - particularly by Isabela, and when they refer to Agustín as "my dad" instead of "dad", she comes to understand she can't be part of his family either. It's not that she severs her relationship with Julieta entirely - she loves her, but she becomes distant with time, and since she's so much like Bruno and Bruno was pretty much forced to stay out of a responsability towards his daughter and sister, she ends up gravitating towards him. She feels like her mother wouldn't understand some things, or that her advice always leans a bit too much on putting on a smile and trying to appease her grandmother, while Bruno is more like... "oh I hate myself too, kid, cheers to that". At some point, Julieta starts finding it harder and harder to connect with Mirabel, and she kinda stops trying to force her. It breaks her heart, but her baby barely spends any time with her or her family. However, she seems to be right at home with her dad.
But she's not Bruno's daughter in a depressing sort of way - in fact, there IS a sudden decision to be made, and it's when Mira is still 5, not even a year after her failed ceremony, when Bruno realizes shit's fucked, the situation is bad, this is his daughter and she's alone. Now, he never planned to have a daughter, but now he has one, it looks like she's gonna suffer just as much as him, and she suddenly doesn't have a dad in Agustín anymore. She's gonna need one. So he stops wallowing in self-loathing and sadness and decides he's going to be an actual dad. He crafts her toys, plays with her, teaches her to read and write, gets her an accordion when she shows an interest in music, defends her from Alma whenever he can, talks to her classmates' parents when the kids are mean to her, makes himself clean and presentable because he wants to be a good example, gets out of the walls and decides to somehow turn his room into an actual liveable place so she van visit whenever she wants... his participation in her life is a great source if comfort, and they actually end up becoming best friends. They're silly, weird and artsy together. He respects her opinion and trusts her judgment, and she knows she always has a responsible adult to rely on whenever she needs help. They also have a surprising amount of fun together, coming up with stories and handicrafts and music. He calls him Papá. Pa for short. She wears a green shawl around her shoulders, or a green scarf tying her hair, or green skirts. She learns how to raise rats. Everyone in town still believes she's Agustín's daughter, but they know she's more Bruno's that she's his. They don't know she's his daughter, but she's clearly his kid. She becomes optimistic again. He becomes a happy man. His love for her inspired him to love himself.

Madrigalcest Camp: Prompts and Dates
Hello and welcome to Madrigalcest Camp. This idea was brought up in both Twitter and Tumblr because the community showed interest in holding another fandom event this year. This time, the prompts were selected randomly from a list of fan suggestions, and they are weekly rather than daily, with two prompts for every seven days, ordered as to match a certain winter/summer dichotomy and represent the different parts of the fandom, from the different halves of the world. Since this event was originally conceived as a "ship season" (as to not say "[Ship] Summer" or [Ship] Winter and priorize fans from the northern hemisphere over fans in the south), it will range from this solstice (the summer or winter solstice, depending on your location) to the next equinox (the spring or autumn equinox).
That means it starts today, on June 21th, and it will end on September 21th.
The prompts are as follows:
Week 1: Past/Future
Week 2: Embarrassment/Propriety
Week 3: Glass/Family tree
Week 4: Shelter/Labyrinth
Week 5: Hanahaki/“The miracle isn’t worth your life”
Week 6: Memory/Longing
Week 7: Monster/Tale
Week 8: Sick/Limerence
Week 9: River/Claws
Week 10: Phoebis philea/Control
Week 11: Doll/Animal
Weel 12: Curse/Birds of a feather
Week 13: Tradition/Unconventional
Week 14: Change/Thread
Guidelines:
Anyone can create fanwork based on any of the prompts, regardless of location. You can create for one, both, or neither. You can combine them or ignore them completely and post something completely unrelated. There is no time limit, either. While it's fun to create together, you can pick and choose whichever prompt you want and share your work whenever. The only requirement to participate in Madrigalcest Camp and have your work reblogged to this blog is to tag it as such. We recommend using the tags #madrigalcestcamp, #Madrigalcest Camp, #Madrigalcest Camp 2022 or #madrigalcestcamp2022. You can also tag this blog and we will reblog it. If you do not wish for us to reblog it, please clarify.
We welcome all and any kind of fanwork: fanfiction, fanart, fansongs, playlists, aesthetic moodboards, headcanon posts, cosplay, video edits, etc. As long as it is fictional, it is allowed.
Both public and anonymous submissions are allowed if you wish to share something via this blog but don't want to associate it to your own blog.
All Madrigalcest ships are allowed, including those between family members who aren't related by blood, but which are still generally considered Madrigalcest (for example, Agustín/Bruno, etc).
This is a pro-fiction event. All kind of fictional content is allowed. We encourage you to tag your work properly and have in mind possible triggers.
N/S/F/W is allowed. Again, please tag accordingly. This blog will use the tag #not safe for casita.
Minors may participate, but we encourage them to navigate the event carefully and stay away from nsfc content. If you create nsfc content and we know you are a minor, we will not reblog or aknowledge it in any way.
We have an ao3 collection. If you wish to add your work to the collection, you need to type precisely "madrigalcest_camp_2022".
This is not a discourse blog. Antis looking for a fight will get instantly blocked.
You can contact us through our ao3 collection and our twitter page as well.
Happy creating!

The Madrigalcest Week prompts are finally here!
Thank you, to everyone who submitted prompts, voted, and participated in any way! This is your event. It was a lot of fun to watch the voting process from afar and bet on which would make it to the Top 7, and we can't say we're disappointed, because the prompts chosen by the community are fantastic! We can't wait to create art out of them!
The prompts are:
DAY 1: "Public displays of affection"
DAY 2: "Forbidden"
DAY 3: "Secrets"
DAY 4: "Love confession"
DAY 5: "Jealousy"
DAY 6: "Firsts"
DAY 7: "Casita, the matchmaker"
The creative process starts now! Feel free to take one, all or none of them and participate in Madrigalcest Week however you want! Remember:
N.SFW content is allowed, but we encourage everyone to tag their content properly and thoroughly. If this kind of content is reblogged or submitted to this blog, it will be tagged as "NSFC" (Not Safe For Casita).
On a similar note, this is a pro-fiction event, and all kinds of controversial, problematic and taboo subjects are welcome. As long as it is fictional, it is accepted, and will be reblogged to this blog. Just be mindful of proper tagging.
All ships under the Madrigalcest umbrella are welcome!
If you don't want to post your fanwork on your own account, you can always submit it anonymously (or not) to this blog.
You can participate for all days of the week, only some of them, none of them, make up your own prompts or interpret them however you want. This event is only for fun, and to encourage and celebrate creativity in the Madrigalcest Fandom. There are no rules (other than propper tagging).
If you would like to see your work reblogged to this post, just tag it as #madrigalcest week, #madrigalcestweek or #madrigalcestweek2022, and we'll find it. Alternatively, you are more than welcome to tag this blog if you want to make sure we see it. However, if you want to participate in Madrigalcest Week but NOT have us reblog your work, please clarify so.
You can always send questions through our inbox or DMs if you have doubts.
This is not a discourse blog. Antis looking for discourse will be blocked on sight.
Now, the elephant in the room:
The dates. There was a bit of a complication, and the voting resulted in a tie. We thought about it and decided to run a second poll to finally settle on a good timeframe, rather than handpick a date ourselves without community input. This poll will be open for FIVE (5) DAYS. The results will be published on FEBRUARY 13TH. There are only two options and, this time around, the current results are public as soon as you vote. It should be quick and painless.
We hate stretching the voting process for so long, but we thought it would be the best option. Until the date is confirmed, please operate under the assumption that the date closest to us will be selected, as to not run out of time thinking you have more days than you do.
The two options are: FEBRUARY 28th - MARCH 6th or MARCH 14th - MARCH 20th
Before voting, think about the prompts. Do you have any ideas lately? How long do you think it will take you to finish your fanwork? How long do you think it will take your fellow fans?
Ah, this doesn't have to be dramatic. The date will be confirmed in less than a week from now, and the picture above will be edited to show it.
Now, you can vote HERE.
Happy shipping! We hope everyone has a great time!

Collection: Casita Problemática’s Romance Festival
The Romance Festival is an encanto-wide event that takes places every spring to celebrate love in all its forms. Sex is freely shared, explored, celebrated, and learned.
The festival is throughout the entire town. People have opened up some of their homes and temporary shelters are prepared for anyone who wants more privacy The casita itself acts as the "kids section" which has two parts to it: One for the younger kids and one for the older kids. a lot of sex education is offered there but also just kid friendly festival activities. It's a party for everyone involved.
Rules:
 — This is a fluff/romance collection and angst is perfectly fine but try to avoid Non-Con and Major Character Death plots because this is about free love (the Encanto has a healthy outlook on sex, love, and sexuality/gender and is unconcerned with taboos like incest and age gaps).
— This collection is moderated but we will accept fics outside of the server.
— Children can be let out of the “Children’s Section” at 14 (Colombia’s Age Of Consent) at base but if you prefer older for your own fic that’s perfectly fine.
This Collection is run by the leaders of the Casita Problemática discord server.
If you love Madrigalcest, are 18+, and are interested in joining: https://discord.gg/ExqX5VpVEh

Julieta and Bruno stopped dating something before/after Mirabel was born in the dad Bruno AU, right? Because that makes me kind of curious about how their relationship would be in the present...
Like, I'd imagine the stress of having an accidental incest baby that they had to hide probably made their break up a lot more sour than it would've been normally, right? And I can't imagine they relationship got any better after the rest of the family found out. So maybe bitterness has festered over the years, especially with both of them commiting mistakes when raising their daughter. I can definitely see them getting into a screaming match at some point, each pointing out how the other has failed to protect Mirabel in some way over the years.
Ahh Julieta and Bruno's relationship in this AU would probably be VERY complicated and have a very long history (50 years of history in fact). So much that it's actually a bit intimidating to think about 👉👈 i feel like i'd need a whole other fanfic in my head to serve only as background.
I think that... they might have discussed the possibility of ending their relationship for some time before Julieta met Agustín. At this point Pepa was probably involved with Félix and planning to marry him soon so Julieta and Bruno kinda saw her and thought... "damn we could never have that, ever." The more I think about them, the younger I want them to have been when they first got together. I'm thinking late teens? So, okay it was a good thing at first. They loved each other. They made each other very happy. And sure, it was one thing when they were younger, but I guess they always knew, in the back of their minds, that there was no way to make it work long term. Bruno was always too scared to see something painful if he looked into their futures. Still, they knew they couldn't get married, thought they couldn't have kids... and they weren't thinking about life as husband and wife when they were nineteen, but now they're nearing their thirties and they're beginning to realize their time is over.
They start to distance themselves, but they don't officially end things until Julieta begins to become involved with Agustín. She realizes they work very well together, and she knows she'd fall in love if she allowed herself to, but she had Bruno, yet both she and Bruno knew they couldn't keep it up forever and Agustín was such a great man, he could offer Julieta a real family and a real future. Bruno had nothing good to offer her.
In the end, I think he was the one who encouraged her to go after him. There was no fight, and they broke up in the best terms possible considering their situation, but it still broke both of their hearts.
Now don't get me wrong, Julieta truly does love her husband, and she doesn't regret marrying him in the slightest. By the time Isabela is born, she's certain that she made the right decision (even if it hurt. Even if it was hard). But... I think her true feelings for Bruno never fully went away. She just learned to tuck them into a little box and hide it in a corner of her heart, so she could make space for her husband and daughters. But they were still there, and they captured her attention if she disturbed the box too much, and Bruno's case was the same, only he had no spouse or children to distract him, so they probably tried to keep some cordial distance, while still turning to each other for appropriate comfort and support when they needed it, but I'm sure Pepa was always their first option, because they didn't want to risk disturbing the boxes. I imagine Bruno might have tried to fill in the emptiness in his heart with his love for his nieces, for his mother, and... he probably tried to love his sisters equally, but he couldn't help feeling the way he did for Julieta. He may or may not have tried to overcompensate by becoming closer with Pepa, but Pepa kinda ended up hating him in the end, and his nieces already had parents of their own, and his own mother thought he was a disappointment, so... pulling away from the one person he felt at home with was very painful for him, even though they were both trying to be mature and smart and move on responsibly.
He might have tried to meet other women. It never worked out. He could only think about Julieta.
I imagine they couldn't fully let go of each other. I imagine they might have shared a shy kiss here and there, something that made them feel young and rebellious again... and that always left them with a bitter sense of guilt afterwards. I imagine they shared a bed more than once, telling themselves it was innocent. And, yes, one time, one, they slept together again.
They regreted it so much, that they didn't speak to each other for weeks. They didn't look at each other. They avoided each other. They were genuinely scared - Julieta was horrified of herself for cheating on her husband with her own brother, for falling into temptation and for making such an immature, irresponsible mistake. She was 35, not 20. She felt herself drowning in shame and becoming closer to her husband than ever, doing her very best to forget about the little box in her heart and, when her belly started to grow, she nearly fully convinced herself that the child was Agustín's. Bruno, on the other hand, hated himself for ruining Julieta's life. He was certain it was his fault. He hurt the only person who loved him - she wouldn't even look at him these days. This is the first time Bruno considers the idea of disappearing.
Mirabel is born. She has a terrible eyesight, and Julieta takes that as a sign that she's Agustín's child. She's so happy, she doesn't even consider fixing it. Bruno wants to be glad but he can't help but be suspicious - the date matches perfectly. 40 weeks. He hates himself for feeling suspicious. He tells himself he only wants a kid, like the ones his sisters have - that he wants something to share with Julieta - that he wants something to keep Julieta chained to him. He shouldn't think something so horrible about his sister's baby. In reality, he's just scared. He still doesn't try to have a vision.
Mirabel grows up. She takes perfectly after her mother and looks nothing like Agustín, save for her poor eyesight. Bruno hates himself for wondering if she has any Agustín in her at all. Mirabel seems to instinctually imitate some of Bruno's body language. Bruno hates himself for wondering if "imitating" is the right word. Mirabel doesn't get a gift. At this point, the fear and shame becomes too much. He confronts Julieta about it. She may or may not confess that, if they calculated the weeks of her last pregnancy, everything points to Bruno being the father. I suppose that would be the only way to know for certain, dunno. But the point is that... now they know. Mirabel is their kid. They had a kid together. They did everything wrong and now they have a kid. Mirabel hears, everyone finds out, they have the horrible reaction you'd expect, shame drives them further apart, Bruno is not involved in Mirabel's life at all... it's bad.
This is where they begin to resent each other. Julieta takes Bruno's departure as abandonment. For the first time in her life, she's alone, and the one person who could stand by her side - her brother - her old partner - her daughter's father - has left her. And if anything makes her fall out of love, it's this ultimate betrayal. This is the case regardless of whether Bruno leaves in the same way as he does in canon, or if he just retreats into his tower, only leaving to ocasionally get some food (always Julieta's food, of course, which only angers her more - she keeps him alive and he won't even leave his tower to try to defend her from their mother). She doesn't want to think he's a coward, she knows she didn't leave because he didn't want to face the consequences of his actions - he sees leaving as the proper punishment. Leaving is the consequence. She knows him. She knows he thinks he has nothing good to offer and that removing himself from the situation is the only good thing he can do (and she's right: that's exactly what Bruno thinks). She tries to be compassionate and forgiving but... she also knows Bruno is fucking wrong, and that his own self-loathing is making him a piece of shit rn. She tried to tell him and show him a million times that not only he had good things to offer, but that he had a responsability to make up for his mistakes, and no, "disappearing because everyone else would be better off without him" isn't what fixing means. But he never listened. In that sense, she does think he's a coward: he could never fight his own demons. He's not scared of standing up to Alma. He's scared of standing up to himself. And as a result, he abandoned his sister when she needed him the most.
This is when Julieta gives up on him. She's willing to forgive him, one day, if he comes back, apologizes and accepts to fight for her and their daughter, but she's sick of going out of her way to look for him, save him from himself, fixing his problems and worrying herself sick over his lack of self-esteem. Old resentmnets come back to the surface: she tolerated his cowardice when they were younger, but not anymore. She could put up with the way he relied on her when she was barely older than a child and thought that taking care of everyone was her responsability, but she's beginning to realize that Bruno never really stood up for her. Not when it came to them. He never had the courage to say "hey, why can't we get married?" And oh, he still had the gall to go look for her after she'd married someone else? No. She didn't deserve this. She never deserved this treatment. And now it was too late. Her husband miraculously forgave her and protected her and stood up for her and tried to be an actual father to Mirabel, even if Alma wouldn't let him, even if he never succeeded. At times, Julieta even wonders what the hell she was thinking in her youth, to waste her time with her own brother when she could have been with Agustín all along. She starts to resent herself for her decisions. She begins to resent not only her and Bruno's relationship as partners but also their decisions as siblings. Add Alma's shaming and the abuse the family puts Mirabel through because of her origins, and Julieta's shame over her incestuous relationship with her brother only grows. She regrets everything. She regrets bringing Mirabel into this world the way she did, she regrets loving Bruno, she regrets putting up with him, she regrets everything, everything, everything. And, because she is so compassionate, she can never bring herself to blame Bruno entirely. In her eyes, they share the blame. She's guilty, too, and now their daughter needs to pay the consequences.
She still loves him, of course. This is a hatred born out of love. I'm sure they could repair their relationship one day, even if only as sibilings. With time. Lots of time, patience and forgiveness. Bruno has a lot of apologizing to do.
Though he doesn't see Julieta as an angel, either. He sees the hardship and pain that she allows Mirabel to be subjected to, and he grows frustrated. He may or may not intervene, once or twice, but never enough to make a difference. He only manages to piss Alma off. It only cements in his head the idea that he can't really do anything for Mirabel, other than disappearing from her life. So he just... resents Julieta for not protecting their daughter better. I imagine Julieta doesn't stand up for her daughter as much as she should because she's ashamed of her. Sometimes, she still sees her as an extension of her crimes with her brother, rather than a scared child to love and protect. She feels like the punishment Mirabel faces is punishment Julieta deserves, and she finds herself unable to defend Mirabel without coming across as defending herself and her decisions, so the best thing she can do is to just... keep Mirabel out of her room during the bad times, so she won't take the brunt of Alma's anger. Julieta's constant failure to hide her shame from Mirabel ends up giving Mirabel the message that she herself is something to be ashamed of. She becomes ashamed of herself, even when she did nothing wrong. Bruno can't forgive Julieta for that. Not now at least. Though it's not like he can say much, because he's not doing more than her to protect Mirabel. They are terrible. Completely unable to protect their kid. Ocasionally having shouting matches in which they tell each other just how wrong they're doing everything, what a terrible parent they are, how they should both be ashamed of themselves. They hate themselves and each other. All little Mirabel hears is that everyone would be better off if she'd never been born.
The thing is that Mirabel's existance feels to them like a reminder of their crimes haunting them, shaming them, punishing them... when in reality, this is a little kid who needed her parents' love. Until they understand that Mirabel needs them to move on from their shame, they won't be good parents to her.

How does Pepa feel about Julieta and Bruno in the dad-Bruno!AU? In other words, how far has their relationship crashed and burned? :,)
Ohhh ahh anon asking the real questions TT_TT honestly?? no idea. I haven't thought of it. But this is a perfectly good moment to start 👀
I think she would be... super mad lmao. Like obviously, she's mad with him in canon, but it's kinda worse now since his... inbred offspring is a constant reminder of his perversion in the house, and also because lol fucking their other sister is probably worse than being mildly unpleasant and *checks notes* causing you to cause a hurricane, on accident, over 21 years ago :) I mean... I always got the impression that Pepa resented Bruno for random shit to like bury the grief and loss that has haunted her since his departure :D idk how much of it is headcanon, theory or plausible interpretation but it makes sense to me, that she actually missed him a lot. That's why she dropped everything as soon as she actually saw him.
But this?? This crosses a line, right? The anger is much more genuine. She doesn't want to see him. Doesn't want to speak to him. She might even tell him to leave. She feels disgusted, sick, betrayed by two of the people she thought she could trust the most... for the first time, she firmly believes that Bruno never really cared about the family. He's just a sick, lonely, miserable fucker.
Though I admit I'm much more interested in Pepa's relationship with Julieta, because she's the character whose status changes the most in this AU. In canon, Julieta seemed to be the only one of her siblings who could stand up to Alma, she was reliable, trustworthy, responsible etc. Julieta had people's respect. She had their mother's respect. Now tho? She's lost everything. Her mistake turned her into a pariah. Alma no longer listens to her; she dismisses her concerns and remarks whenever she tries to speak up. People don't turn to her for guidance. She still has her husband on her side, and that's out of sheer luck and Agustín being an amazing person, because someone less forgiving would have rightfully slammed a door on her face - which is what Pepa winds up doing. Again, she feels betrayed, but while she always had something against Bruno... Julieta was someone she had always trusted and relied on. Big sister (not so big in age but like, in spirit). She could always open up to Julieta, she could always talk, could always find a shoulder to cry on. She thought she knew her but this... this just shows she didn't know her sister at all. How long? For how many years did she hide this? How many decades? How could she? How could her siblings do such a thing? How could they be so sick? What happened? How did she miss it?
For the first time, she blames Julieta just as much as she blames Bruno, and with Alma's support, it escalates from there: she disencourages her children from spending too much time with her, she talks shit behind her back, she acts rude, inconsiderate and insensitive towards her... passive-aggressive comments here and there and cruel remarks that get no reaction out of Julieta but sad, defeated eyes.
I think that, just like how she buried her grief over Bruno's loss with anger, she masks her feeling of pain and betrayal with cruelty here, too. She feels like she's lost both her siblings. They betrayed the family. And she misses them terribly; misses the relationship they had, the trust, the happiness and love, and wonders if it had all been tainted from the start. When was their last "good" memory together? When did Bruno and Julieta's relationship change? Were they together in their 30s? In their 20s? Their teens? Pepa has no way to know. She's too scared to ask. She just wishes she could have them back ;-;

Okay, I’m listening to “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” by Céline Dion (personally, I’m very partial to Meat Loaf’s cover but it’s not on Spotify) and hear me out, Black Moth Julieta and Bruno.
Ahhh dude yes listen idk if it'd fit but I'd love to see black moth Bruno and Julieta getting back together in the end, poly w Agustín of course, Julieta loves her husband to bits, but... her brother... df,mgndndkkngnk
Their relationship is troubled and complicated but ahhh they definitely miss each other, maybe seeing Mirabel and Isabela's story unfold inspires them to try again...

I don’t have an excuse for sending you so many song related asks other than I listen to music constantly and I have to have it playing in the background when I draw otherwise I always, for some reason, end up hating what I draw. Funny how that works. Anyway, I made a Black Moth Playlist for just general vibes in general, for both Isamira & Brulieta. Let me explain some of the ones that might not make sense though because I do have some explanations. Not for all of the ones that don’t make sense though some of them I just picked off of vibes and I’m always down for song recommendations, be it for ships or otherwise. I’m just putting that out into the world.
I Don’t Love you- My Chemical Romance | A very mad Julieta, that’s my explanation.
Break My Heart Again- FINNEAS | Bruno pushing Julieta to be with Agustín then his feelings when he becomes like a rebound, you’ll figure out what I mean by that later on when I publish the Bruno chapter I teased you with.
Two Slow Dancers- Mitski | Reminiscing Brulieta, I actually kind want to draw a comic based off of this one. Don’t hold me to that.
Let Me Go- Anna Akana | Julieta. Julieta has some feelings.
Laughter Lines- Bastille | Brulieta. I can’t really explain this one very well but I looking at through the lenses of that knowledge should be enough to explain.
Send My Love- Adele | Julieta kind of being a bit resentful of the fact that Bruno pushed her toward Agustín.
Jar of Hearts- Christina Perri | Like every other line sort of switches between Bruno and Julieta’s point of view
If By Chance- Ruth B. | Bruno’s point of view looking at Julieta and Agustín and their marriage. Specifically I get a lot of he was thinking this at their wedding vibes.
AHHhhhH DUDE My dude omg I'm so sorry it took me so long to reply and check this out but omg you're amazing I'm ahh thank you so much for sharing this!! Listening to the whole thing rn!! Ahhh sad angsty brulieta 😭😭😭 their whole story and relationship makes me so emo like 😭😭😭 they tried their best but they couldn't 😭😭😭

In the Dad!Bruno AU, I can't help but keep thinking about why Julieta married Agustín if she was still in love with Bruno at the time? It can't be about placating Alma for the obvious reasons. Was she and Bruno on the outs already, and Mirabel was the result of a years-later resurgence in feelings? Did Bruno push her to be with Agustín when she started having feelings for him? Were her feelings for Agustín the catalyst for her relationship with Bruno to break down?
Ahhh anon I just happened to have recently answered this ask here in which I go in depth on Julieta and Bruno's backstory :) basically: it's complicated. She IS in love with Agustín - and with Bruno, though being with Bruno is a lot more complicated and eventually, they both made a choice and decided she'd be able to have a better life if she married Agustín.

Okay so dad!Bruno incest guilt angst is good, but what about dad!Bruno rage angst
Because in canon this man rode in on a horse like a goddamn knight to chew Alma out for maybe possibly having a chance to make Mirabel cry, and from the way he fell off and got stuck I suspect he doesn’t actually know how to ride a horse which makes the fact he tried 2x cooler IMO.
And there’s something about the idea of this gentle, chill, friendly man getting pissed off because yes he might have made a mistake by not being able to hold his relationship with Julieta together when he chose to go for that, but dammit that’s HIS DAUGHTER and she didn’t do anything wrong so how dare you treat her like a monster for existing? What is wrong with his family, does he even know them anymore???
Like he expected them to be upset with him, thats fair, but not a literal baby child. And despite his anxieties about whether he’d be a good dad to her or whether people would think he was sus if he just took her and left, maybe he makes a vision of if she’ll turn out okay and sees how horrible Alma would be to her and decides protecting her is more important.
This can go 1 of a few ways, Julieta and Augustin can go with him if they want, or they can stay if they want, and they might be mad at him or not for even thinking of it but any way they slice it he insists he needs to get her out of Alma’s shadow. He loves his family and would like to stay but they feel so hostile and he will leave the village entirely if he needs to.
This has potential for conflict between Julieta and Bruno, or between the parent trio and the rest of the family. And then you would have to work out how it would go if they stayed close by vs going somewhere further away and just. Dad!Bruno is a great AU for angst and drama.
Ohh Oh Anon you have galaxy brain 👀👀 There are so many options ahh mm
Bruno knows things are going really REALLY bad and when Antonio is born and Mirabel is kicked out of the nursery, he just, brings her to his room. She lives with him now. He tries to be a dad for the first time. And Mirabel is just ELATED to be with her dad and follows him everywhere like a baby duckling, idk bringing board games and a ball and shit to play and convince him to spend time with her. They eventually DO grow closer. Mirabel comes to be seen more as a part of Bruno's side of the family than Julieta's. She wears green and emerald jewelry and comes to LOVE the huge cave system that is his room, exploring every nook and cranny and idk she does parkour with him. Objectively least angsty alernative because at least she and Bruno are recovering and building a healthier, stronger relationship, and even if everyone hates them, they have each other and their home in the tower, AND they're close enough to the family so that eventually isabela can become a sisc0n they can all be close again, hopefully, somehow.
When she's very young, Bruno takes Mirabel and moves somewhere else in town. Like a house or even a small farm in the outskirts, near the edge of the forest, where she grows up away from the rest of the family. She knows she's related to them but she doesn't really see them as family, though she longs to reconnect and doesn't resent them one bit. She still blames herself ;-;
Bruno takes Mirabel when she's little and they move outside of the Encant0, to some big city. Memories of the Encant0 become an old, distant memory in Mirabel's mind, almost like a dream she longs to find and explore, but her father reminds her that they are in exile for a reason.
Personally I think it'd be so much more heartbreaking if Julieta and Agustín didn't want/couldn't leave, because they already have two magical daughters and they need to be raised in Casita. Also, Alma wouldn't want them to take Isabela away. She's tightly holding the leash. Isabela can't leave and if Julieta and Agustín leave for Mirabel's sake, they'd have to leave her behind. Obviously they don't consider the possibility for even a minute. Moving the whole family out is not an option with Isabela as hostage. The previously listed options imo are ordered from least to most painful for Julieta specifically: Mirabel living in Bruno's tower is a small change. It only means she needs to climb a few more steps to find her daughter, but they all still live in the same house and she's not all that far away. Mirabel being moved to somewhere else in town would be terribly painful, but at least Julieta could easily stay in contact. Taking her away from the Encant0 though? That would kill her. She'd be losing her baby, maybe forever.
;-;
I do love the idea of Bruno snapping one day and deciding to be an actual father and protect his child. The baby. My skrunkly. my poor little meow meow. must protecc. Ayy the town coming to see her as "Bruno's kid" even if they don't know the truth, because they always see them together and he's always the one taking care of her. my heart.

Another thought to counteract my previous post "ruining" Isamira in the dad!Bruno AU: For all that the incest guilt would be off the charts, I do think that Mira accepting their love for each other is probably one of the few ways to help Mirabel move past her incest trauma. If she can be convinced that her love for her sister is beautiful (and not disgusting), then logically that'd extend to herself as a product of incest. Isa *may* not be the best person for that sort of positivity, tho...
Isabela: I know, I know, these feelings are bad, disgusting, gross, dangerous, horrible, life-ruining...
Mirabel: thanks ;-;
jsjkjs ahh anon yesss you raise such a good point omg i hadn't though of it that way but yes! I think a big part of the trauma comes from the fact that Bruno and Julieta genuinely loved each other and did everything they did willingly and consensually. They had forbidden inc3st seks because they WANTED to have forbidde inc3st seks. If that hadn't been the case, then it would be so much more black-and-white, much more clear and simple to understand - a crime is a crime. Her mother would have been an obvious victim. But because her parents WANTED to be together and ENJOYED IT for a long time, it's considered a moral failing anyone could fall into if they're not careful enough. A potential temptation that may latch its claws onto you. It's not just a crime, it's a sin, and the people who commited such sin in the past are not bad people - they're Mirabel's family, and she doesn't know Bruno very well but he doesn't see like a bad guy, he's just... weird. And Julieta is very clearly not EVIL either, and she still loves Mirabel, but she chose to be involved with her own brother, she wasn't a victim, she made a mistake, so who's to say Mirabel can't make a mistake either? I think Mirabel and Isabela's arc should maybe mirror Julieta and Bruno's, in a way that exposes how they actually loved each other - still do, in a way - and how the decisions they made, made them happy back then. They didn't hurt each other. If anything, the person who got hurt the most before Mirabel's birth was Agustín, since Julieta continued to be with her brother even after getting married and starting a family, but Agustín didn't even know until after Mirabel had turned five, and by then Bruno and Julieta were over and he was much more concerned about Mirabel's wellbeing, even if he was pushed out of it and forbidden from intervening by Alma, so in the end, shouldn't they have spent more time and energy in protecting Mirabel than wallowing in their own shame and forcing it upon her?
It's kind of an egg-and-chicken sort of thing - does Mirabel need to accept she's inherently valuable and worthy of life and love despite her incestuous origins to happily embrace her feelings for her sister, or does Mirabel's relationship with her sister help her accept her own existance as a child of inc3st? I think it'd be kinda both. Two paralel lines mirroring each other, helping her learn and understand and see things from different perspectives, growing alongside her sister and parents.
Anhhhs shha ahh ah now I'm thinking about Isabela making Mirabel feel so loved and cherished and beautiful and kissing her all over, kinda like a puppy that won't get off you, to the point Mirabel forgets what was supposed to be so wrong about this. If her parents had something like this, and they really loved each other so much, then she's almost happy that she was born out of so much love.
