During December of 2019 I am writing to the South African Family Advocate asking them to follow up with the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice as they had not responded to my request for a neutral mediator. I am told there appears to be a stalemate, as I have not selected one of the mediators prescribed by the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice.

On Saturday, 28 October 2023 the Springboks (South African Rugby Team) won the Rugby World Cup 2023, which was held in France. The victory was a record setting affair with the Springboks being the only team to have won the Rugby World Cup four times (1995, 2007, 2019 and 2023).

Whatever else has been denied of Nikki, his DNA and heritage can never be taken from him.

In September of 2019, I am working with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) on crimes related to child abduction. I am also negotiating between the Bulgarian and South African authorities to try and get some sort of contact with Nikki. It's frustratingly slow but I'm on a path at this stage and I have to make peace with a lot of things I cannot influence....

In October 2019: I am sent a list of mediators in the agreements programming of Sofia Regional Court and Sofia city Court, there is no option of proposing a mediator of neutral disposition.

My Bulgarian lawyer writes to me, confirming that they have prepared and will shortly have a filing confirmation for my application for review and setting aside of the decision of the prosecutor, which they prepared......in for a penny in for a pound, I say......

I receive an update from the NPA relating to their investigation into Nikki's abduction.  

Also in October I am working wiht Kinderontvoering.org and Reunite to enlist their mediation services. I'll update how Reunite's engagement with Nikki's Mom went next month.

През октомври 2019 г.: Изпратен ми е списък с медиатори в програмирането на споразуменията на Софийски районен съд и Софийски градски съд, няма възможност за предлагане на ме��иатор с неутрално разположение.

Моят български адвокат ми пише, потвърждавайки, че са изготвили и скоро ще получат потвърждение за подаване на молбата ми за преразглеждане и отмяна на решението на прокурора, което те подготвиха......за стотинка за паунд, казвам......

Получавам актуална информация от NPA относно тяхното разследване на отвличането на Ники.

Също така през октомври работя с Kinderontvoering.org и Reunite, за да привлечем техните посреднически услуги. Ще актуализирам как мина годежът на Reunite с майката на Ники следващия месец.

th the Chief Family Advocate & Central Authority for the R.S.A.: International Child Abduction to try and get access to Nikki...Her counterpart in Bulgaria informs us she is on leave from 5-25 August, agonisingly......I have to learn patience and acceptance.

At the same time I am investigating legal aid in Bulgaria, by now I could no longer continue to fund my efforts to connect with Nikki.......I had to  try a different approach.

My diary tells me that in June 2019 I was working with the Centrum Internationale Kinderontvoering https://kinderontvoering.org/ to try and find a negotiated non-legal way to establish contact with Nikki, my efforts always lead back to the Bulgarian courts.

Tuesday, 9 May 2023 marks 5 years and 10 months since Nikki was abducted to Sofia, Bulgaria. Today I am 100% alienated from Nikki, have no contact or receive any news of his wellbeing. Paging through my diary of May 2019, I am reminded of a formal request Nikki's mother made via her lawyers to take Nikki on holdiday to Mauritius after I had declined to give my permission, given my fears of abduction. Nikki's mother had claimed that the holiday would be a wonderful experience for Nikki, they would stay at the Radisson Blu in Port Louis and there would be all sorts of fun activities for Nikki to participate in. On receiving the request my lawyers did some investigation into the Radisson Blu in Port Louis....only to find out that they were an adults only establishment and did not permit children to stay there. Разлиствайки дневника си от май 2019 г., си спомням за официална молба, която майката на Ники направи чрез адвокатите си да заведе Ники на почивка в Мавриций, след като отказах да дам разрешението си, предвид страховете ми от отвличане. Майката на Ники твърдеше, че празникът ще бъде прекрасно изживяване за Ники, те ще отседнат в Radisson Blu в Порт Луис и ще има всякакви забавни дейности, в които Ники да участва. След като получиха искането, моите адвокати направиха известно разследване Radisson Blu в Порт Луис... само за да разбера, че те са заведение само за възрастни и не позволяват на деца да останат там. Looking at some correspondence with Nikki's school March, 2019. My request was dismissed in a three line response telling me to go and get a court order, the devastating effects of parental alienation on a child....clearly a non-issue for them.

I write to you today as the father (Paul Mulder xxxxxxxx) of Nxxxxx Mulder (xxxxxxxxx) and am appealing to you to help break the grip of parental alienation under which Nxxxxxx is labouring.

You will no doubt have heard Nxxxxxx’ mother’s (xxxxxxxxx) version of events and I want to state that any allegation of abuse towards either  her or Nxxxxxx and perpetrated by me are untrue and mala fida in the extreme. To this end I have attached a report by Dr xxxxxx xxxxxxx, a clinical and children’s psychologist in her capacity of a court expert to Sofia City Court under civil case No xxxxxxx where she states (among other things) with regards to Nxxxxxxx “..,I am categorically of the opinion that if the child was the target of violence on the part of the father, he would have manifested fear or resentment in any manner, which was not observed during the meeting.”

Currently Nxxxx’ mother enforces that I have no contact with Nxxxxxx whatsoever, receive no updates as to his wellbeing or development progress, does not respond when I request information related to Nxxx’ wellbeing, has referred formal contact requests to the court system, when I have attempted to visit Nxxxxx in Sofia on one occasion refused to facilitate a visit and referred me to the court, on two occasions for court ordered visits (when she knew I was coming) provided sick notes as to why Nicholas could not meet with me and on two occasions for court ordered visits when she saw I was at the social services centre took off down the road with Nxxxxxx in order to prevent the meetings taking place. My parental rights and responsibilities were confirmed by a high court order and Nxxxxx’ has been found to have “wrongfully retained in Bulgaria” in a recent Hague appeal judgement.

For this reason I write to you urgently requesting your assistance in any way in which you can, to put an end to the alienation which Nxxxxx is facing, perhaps you are able to connect me with Nxxxxx, provide me updates on his development or even have a discussion with Nxxxxx’ mother to educate her as to the damage she is doing to Nxxxxxx by alienating him from me.

Parental Alienation is child abuse. In January 2023, I  was happy to be made aware of this initiative  "Hi, my name is Lois Temel. I am a school teacher and filmmaker. Together with my co-producer, Dr Braam Ackermann (a psychiatrist), we are making a documentary on parental alienation. This is when one parent, normally during divorce and separation, turns the children against the alienated parent. In severe cases this can lead to no contact between the child and the alienated parent. Both women and men engage in alienating behaviour in equal measure and it has profound implications for the children and alienated parent involved. We have already interviewed several parental alienation experts for this film, including Dr Amy Baker. Funds raised will be to travel to Israel in March 2023 to interview a judge and other court officials who have set up a specialist Parental Alienation court. The system has successfully brought about reunification in over 200 cases and Israel are leading the way in this area. We want to add this story to the film as a template for the way forward. Please have a look at our video for more information and on how you can help us: https://gofund.me/19948623, From my diary I can see that in February 2019 I am still reeling from the news that the Hague judgement has been overturned by the appeal court. Comments from people who regularly engage  the legal system range from“With due respect, this judgement seems to make a mockery of the Hague convention. It implies that a parent can act illegally, alienate a child from his parent, and get away with it. What a sham!”, to the unplublishable. I had also written to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), a declaration must be in force accepting the jurisdiction of the Court as compulsory (in application of Article 36 of the Court’s Statute), South Africa does not have such a declaration in force. And so I received a letter of regret from the ICJ. I received an affidavit from a professional whom both Nikki's Mom and I consulted stating "I believe that Ms xxxxxxxx xxxxxxx is prone to making unsubstantiated, false assertions.". On social media, one of Nikki's Mom's friends is defending her and references a video (made by Nikki's Mom) with fabricated narrated facts that was later to form the basis of Nikki's Mom's accusation that I had kicked Nikki. In January, 2019 my diary tells me that I have just received the judgement of the appeal hearing. Nikki's mother now (as she had done towards the end in SA) made an interesting choice of legal representation, and used legal council who were better known for dealing with criminal matters than family matters (

). The strategy served her but not Nikki well.

If you remember from my previous postings, I had won The Hague matter which ordered Nikki's return to South Africa where the Parenting Plan ordered by the High Court of South Africa should be implemented. Below are factors which the Appeal Court in Bulgaria cited for overturning The Hague matter's decision.

- you do not have at your disposal a family environment suited to the child’s upbringing

- in respect of you, "there are actions threatening the child’s health"

- the absence of a criminal conviction against you does not “deprive you of the possibility of being rough with the child”

- the child itself avoids contact with you and holds on to its mother’s hand

- the Appeal court reads this as the seeking of support by the child in its mother (???)

- the removal of the child from the mother and its family environment in Bulgaria would affect the child highly negatively

- the return of the child to SA would be a shock to such a young child and contains a risk to its future development (referring to alleged Bulgarian Social Services findings)

- the child has lived for an “exceedingly short time” in SA

- the mother and child lived in a different town to the one you lived in

- currently, the child is in an extremely "calm and suitable” environment, despite its removal, and is developing correctly, given which the transfer to SA would be a radical change with negative consequences

- if returned to SA, the child would be separated from the mother, which would affect its development.
