ART IS THE WEAPON @upfest 22 Wow what a 5 hours that was! .. What a weekend that was! My Sister’s wedding on the Saturday, rush to Bristol on the Sunday for #upfest22 the best darn festival in the world. But it did mean mean I only had one day to do a two day painting, so the style got changed a bit, less detail, more free hand, larger brushes and more red bull! I LOVE how it came out, by forcing my self to accommodate the situation I think it may have came out better!… and only a small bit of rain. It was such a fun day, thank you to everyone who stopped and chatted, you are all very kind, to all the kids I spoke to who see art as a future career and of course all the volunteers and Upfest crew .. Especially Emma, thank you for making it possible for me to do both, you are a star. We created this wall with a group of people that came together to amply a black voice in Bristol and support black lives. @lanie__rose : “Creating this gave me the opportunity to express myself and hopefully wake people up to the systemic racism embedded in the UK” While painting this wall we received both positive and negative reactions. This just further demonstrates that this art was needed, but also how important it is to support and listen to black voices ✊🏾 This wall not only supports America, but also highlights that the problem is all over the world. UPFEST 2016

After six years of hip hop, breakdancing, and graffiti, Dutch artist David Louf, aka Mr June, moved on to a graphic design program and budding career as an advertising art director. June quickly realized that the big business environment wasn't for him and started his own multi-disciplinary studio, "Out of Order." He never lost touch with his graffiti roots, however, and his studio practice gives him the freedom to continue expressing himself through his colorful, three-dimensional murals designed to interact with their architectural contexts. For the 2016 Upfest event in Bristol, UK, June spent four days creating this completely freestyle composition at East St and Church Rd.  @davidjunelouf/  @upfest/

A painting of Calcifer I did in my local area. The story behind this piece was that I initially had a different piece here but someone dumped some mattresses there which got set on fire. Destroying the original artwork, I felt it best to go touchup the spot with a cheeky nod to what was here before the fire.
