Ok, before I say anything else, I want to make a plea to all comic book publishers: The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. should get its own title on the rack! Bruce Campbell has already been immortalized in comic pages as Ash from The Evil Dead and as Bubba Ho-Tep so what’s one more ?

To tell the truth, I’d love to see a comic book with Lord Bowler. After drawing the character of Sho’nuff from The Last Dragon, I’ve been wanting to try my hand at Julius Carry’s other prominent role, that of fellow bounty hunter and general all-around cranky-pants from the short-lived action-adventure western sci-fi TV show. Originally intended as Brisco’s rival, the creators liked the chemistry between the actors so much that they decided instead to make them partners. Turns out Carry had researched black cowboys for a project in college and used that knowledge in his portrayal of Bowler. Carry said that Bowler was similar to the real-life black deputy U.S. Marshal Bass Reeves So here’s my take on the one and only Lord Bowler!

He swaggered into the room in a slick black suit and said, "let's do this". I think he's the only celeb I'd stand in line to meet and I did and brought him my painting. When I got up to his table he said, woah, this is cool, where's you get this? I said I made it and he said well, where do you want me to sign it. I said the back (that's where I sign all my paintings) and of course, the man who played #briscocountyjr said "that's a waste". I said, alright, you see some good real estate you take it man and he went right at it with a sharpie. Here's how #brucecampbell altered my painting and I also really dig his stink lines. He closed the conversation with "this has my approval" and I never even got to ask him if he was an elk because I was completely in awe.
