When Ali Barshop and Meg Margiotta founded To & From Gifts in 2016, they instantly elevated the art of gift giving through their beautifully curated gift boxes. Tell us a little bit about your backgrounds and what lead you to start To & From Gifts? After graduating from SMU, we worked alongside each other at a fashion-tech startup in Dallas. When our fiancés proposed, we immediately began thinking of ways to pop the question to our bridesmaids. The concept of To & From was born after realizing a turn-key solution didn't exist and that there were other brides out there that didn't enjoy this process as much as we did. All of your gift boxes are beautifully curated, but it’s especially fun to see the festive bachelorette swag bags, wedding welcome boxes, etc. What are your most requested wedding-related gifts? Engagement? Bridesmaid Proposals? There seem to be so many great options! When it comes to wedding gifts, we always advise brides to plan ahead and budget for the many gifting opportunities throughout their engagement. Our most requested wedding gifts include engagement gifts, bridesmaid proposal gifts, day-of getting ready gifts and welcome gifts for out of town guests. We also love helping with bachelorette swag bags, hostess gifts, parent gifts and even groomsman gifts.

How does the process work? What type of information does the bride need to provide? Most of our wedding gifts are made to order and completely customizable. We typically start by gathering details such as quantity, budget, and any must-have items. Any other details about the wedding, such as location and color palette, will help us make the gifts as personalized as possible. From there, we'll create a digital proposal with several gift designs to choose from. Once we narrow down the perfect combo for the occasion, we'll order the products, assemble and deliver or ship the gifts on behalf of the bride. Have you noticed any specific trends such as colors, themes, bags vs. boxes? Colors - Something Blue Theme - Personalized attire for getting ready (robes, PJ set) Practical Packaging for the Occasion - Caribbean bachelorettes are a great opportunity to swap out a gift box for a beach tote that can be used during the weekend, while disposable packaging makes more sense for destination weddings since guests will be traveling to and from.
