Long time no post...

I used to have a nostalgiaforthedigital Instagram account where I posted pictures similar to what I post on here. Even though I did not follow anyone I know, I managed to establish a nice little network of like-minded people who liked toy digital cameras like the Digital Harinezumi, Bonzart, SQ30ml, etc. It was nice to see the awesome work posted by these people. However, last October, I decided to delete my account because I was finding myself addicted to the app, particularly on my main account. I was also tired of the increased ads and FB/Meta forcing things on my feed that I did not choose to see. It was obvious that Meta was manipulating its users to stay on the app as long as possible.

I am so glad I deleted my account but sometimes I wonder if I should have just kept my nostalgiaforthedigital account. However, with recent news that Meta is moving to increase the focus of Instagram on TikTok-like videos, it makes me feel even more justified in having completely cut off from the app.

Still, I miss having a place where I could share some of my creations. I miss the sum of what I created on that account. But then it occurred to me...why not recreate it here? I made sure to download all my data before deleting my Instagram account. Why couldn't I just repost those pictures here?

So that is what I will attempt to do. I will try to post the pictures in the same order that I posted them in my Instagram account. If possible I will try to include the same captions and hashtags. I mean, it won't be quite the same and not nearly as many people will be following this account...but surely someone will come across these posts. Also, I'm not sure how I will handle the Stories (I have video clips of my Highlights). But it'll be nice to have my creations on the Internet again.

So far, I love the Ziegel! It appealed to me since 1) I didn't have to buy film (like with the Kodak Printomatic, which used to be my camera of choice), and 2) it actually had a screen. I know a lot of people got really impatient, since the campaign ended, but I am grateful for such a cool little camera. The only issue I've had, is not being able to get out enough to get more varied shots 😅.
