anthrocon cursed the brewers in 2007! they happened to visit pittsburgh at the same time as anthrocon (then in its second year in pittsburgh) around july 4, and furries were encountered at the hotel the team was staying at. notably, broadcasters bob uecker and jim powell spent about 15 minutes on air on july 4 discussing the furry convention, with uecker being relatively understanding of the anthrocon attendees and powell considerably less so. the brewers (who were a respectable 47-34 or 0.580 going into that series) lost that game, lost the series, and went on to have a rough couple of months that (by the end of august) ended with them slipping below .500 on august 28, and even though they managed to claw back to finish the season at .512, they ended up missing the playoffs.

since 2007, the brewers are .375 when playing in pittsburgh during anthrocon.
