Vassae by Mike Karolos
Vassae
Vassae (Βάσσαι in ancient greek) means “little valley in the rocks”. This is the name of the archeological site of Vassae that is close to the client's olive grove. There stands the Temple of Apollo Epicurius, the God of healing and father Asclepius, god of medicine. According to the Greek myths, when Apollo was born, the branches of the olive trees turned gold.
The client
Vassae Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes from olive trees from the client's property that grow exclusively in the region of Figalia in Peloponnese, near Olympia. Passing from generation to generation, this olive grove has witnessed the country’s long history and has deeply connected the client's family to their land. This part of Greece has seen it’s population declining as more and more people moved to the big cities. Against the grain, one of the youngest family members, Dimitris, returned to his ancestral land to build a business. He founded Vassae to help revitalise the region and put his skills in good use. He has worked as a chemist consulting olive oil and wine producers for many years. He is now making Vassae olive oil available to the whole world, for the first time.
The projectI was contacted by the Mavroeidis family and asked if I could design everything needed for their new olive oil. The challenge for me was to keep my style as that is the reason they contacted me in the first place, but at the same time manage to make everything look premium and luxury. We first started with the logo design and once we were happy with that I started designing the bottle. Lastly came the box. By keeping my geometric pop art style but working with mostly black and gold colors we achieved the result we were looking for. A premium logo and package design for a premium Greek extra virgin olive oil. Of course the printing methods we used like black UV lines and gold details on a black matte bottle and gold foil on the box plus UV again was the final touch for the result.

Bitcoin Usage May Spike Following Cash Restrictions in Malaysia
Malaysia is set to become the latest country to impose restrictions on cash transactions. The move could force more people to look towards bitcoin and crypto adoption in general as a way of getting around such limitations.
Cash Restrictions May Boost Bitcoin Adoption
The Malaysian government plans to impose restrictions on cash transactions reports local media platform The Star. According to the publication, the move is part of efforts to combat money laundering in the country.
Commenting on the plan, Datuk Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour, the deputy governor of Malaysia’s central — Bank Negara (BNM), remarked:
This is to address the abuse of physical cash used for illicit activities.
Malaysian economist, Barjoyai Bardai believes the proposed cash transaction limit in the country could boost digital currency adoption.
For Bardai, having such restrictions may be the catalyst that pushes more people to adopt digital payment systems. According to Bardai:
When consumers get used to using digital currency, they will be more willing and encouraged to undertake business dealings, and so, business dealings can get bigger and have a positive impact on the economy in the form of a doubling and also business volume.
As in most of Southeast Asia, bitcoin and crypto adoption continue to fair favorably. However, this trend has also been accompanied by fraudulent investment schemes and criminal behavior.
The Malaysian police on Thursday (November 7, 2019) announced the arrest of five individuals suspected of stealing 85 Bitcoin ATMs.
New Policy Will Not Affect the Average Malaysians
The proposed cash transaction limitation will affect industries like medical tourism, hotels, and wholesale merchants. However, transactions routed via financial institutions will not fall under the new restriction policy since banks already have robust anti-money laundering (AML) compliance requirements.
For Abdul Rasheed, the proposed plan will not adversely affect the average Malaysian household. According to the central bank executive, detailed studies showed a median household income of under $2,000 — far below the proposed limit.
Malaysia is the latest country planning to restrict the legal limit for cash transactions. As previously reported by Bitcoinist, Australia is also looking to cap cash payments at $10,000.
Both the Australian and Malaysian proposals contain no express mention of bitcoin and cryptos in their transaction restriction plans.

The Malaysian government plans to impose restrictions on cash transactions up to 25,000 Malaysian ringgit (about $6,300), according to local media The Star. According to the publication, this step is being implemented as part of the fight against money laundering in the country.
Malaysian economist Barjoyai Bardai (Barjoyai Bardai) believes that the proposed restriction on cash transactions in the country can accelerate the adoption of cryptocurrencies. According to Barday, the presence of such restrictions can be a catalyst that encourages more people to switch to digital payment systems.
The proposed cap on cash payments will affect industries such as medical tourism, hospitality and wholesale. However, transactions made through financial institutions are not subject to the new restriction policy as banks already have strict anti-money laundering (AML) requirements.
According to Datuk Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour, Deputy President of the Central Bank of Malaysia Bank Negara (BNM), the proposed plan will not have a negative impact on the average citizen of Malaysia. West Ham United and Southampton were both interested in signing Dinamo Zagreb playmaker Amer Gojak over the summer, according to Mundo Deportivo – but now the youngster is on the radar of Barcelona and Manchester City.
All the talk might have been focused on another Zagreb wonderkid, Spain U21 star Dani Olmo, but Gojak himself is also emerging as one of Europe’s most promising young midfielders.
At the age of 22, he already has four Croatian league titles to his name, as well as eight caps and three goals for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.And, according to BNM, he is already more impressive than a certain Luka Modric was at the same age.
Now, Gojak is playing Champions League football, although he managed just half an hour off the bench in Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.
His lack of minutes might have come as a disappointment to Pep Guardiola’s side with Mundo Deportivo claiming that City’s transfer chief Txiki Begiristain was keen to check him out in the flesh. Barcelona’s sporting director Eric Abidal was also at the Etihad to watch Gojak in action.
Zagreb are used to interest in one of their prized assets, however, turning down offers from a number of clubs including West Ham and Southampton over the summer.
Now, with all due respect to the Hammers and The Saints, Gojak could be set for bigger and better things.

Rata inflației urmează să crească, iar asta va condiționa creșterea prețurilor. O asemenea prognoză a făcut guvernatorul Băncii Naționale a Moldovei, Octavian Armașu, la emisiunea „Punctul pe AZi” de la TVR Moldova. Armașu spune că inflația va continua să crească până la începutul anului 2020, iar apoi va începe să scadă.

SINCE VISITING SEREMBAN AND STAYING QUITE CLOSE TO THE PALM MALL I HAVE HAD TO USE THE ATM MACHINES IN THE GROUND SPACE AS PROVIDED.
PLEASE SEE VIDEOS. AS OF THE MOST RECENT ATM FRAUD INCIDENT- JUNE 28TH @ SEREMBAN - PALM MALL AT APPROXIMATELY 4.00PM. THE DETAILS ARE CLEARER IN MY CANADIAN TD FRAUD REPORT.SIMPLY AS MEPS DOES NOT DISPLAY ANY EXTERNAL BANKING IDENTIFICATION ON ITS MACHINES. AS WELL AS THE ATM FRAUD - TOOK PLACE AFTER I HAD MADE SEVERAL WITHDRAWALS - WITH THE LAST ONE - BEING THE MEPS FRAUD-ATM FRAUD.
AS IT WAS FRIDAY THE 28TH JUNE- END OF MONTH- THE ATM LINE UP WAS GROWING AND AFTER SEVERAL FURTHER TRIES AT ACCESSING THE FUNDS. I KNOW MY ACCOUNT AND WHAT FUNDS WAS AVAILABLE. I WAS RECEIVING MEPS FRAUDULENT - INSUFFICIENT FUNDS RECEIPTS. I GAVE UP AS I HAD APPOINTMENTS. BUT THOUGHT PERHAPS IT WAS DUE TO THE ATM MACHINE PLACING AN ARBITRARY WITHDRAWAL LIMIT ON HOW MUCH FUNDS I COULD RETRIEVE IN 1 DAY? BUT THIS WAS URGENT AS THE MISSING FUNDS WERE TO PAY FOR RENT AND URGENT MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS. FOR JULY 1 2019.. SO THIS WAS A DISASTER EVENT. BUT I HAD THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE - GAINED FROM 2016 AND 2019.
WHEN THE CRIMINAL CIMB BANK- DID IT IN APRIL 2019 - AND THEN IN MAY 2019 - AND FINALLY JUNE BUT THIS TIME FROM THE MEPS ATM MACHINE. SO AS I WAS WARNED BOTH ATM MACHINES ARE RIGGED TO STEAL YOUR FUNDS. MALAYSIA IS NUMBER 2 IN INTERNATIONAL FRAUD. BEHIND BRAZIL.
MALAYSIANS THAT I MET AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT TOLD ME OF THEIR OWN HORROR STORIES. AND STATED THAT THIS WAS COMMON IN MALAYSIA AND YOU HAD TO BE CAREFUL AS MANY HAVE NEVER RECEIVED THEIR MONEY BACK.
AS WELL AS I RECEIVED A REPORT WHERE MY BANK CARD WAS TAGGED- THAT THE FOREIGN CARD # AND NAME WAS TARGETED FOR FRAUD. AND IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHERE MY RECEIPTS DID NOT MATCH INTERNAL INVESTIGATIONS AND THAT WAS WHEN THEY DISCOVERED SOMEONE HAD MANUALLY ACCESSED MY INFORMATION AND DID CHANGE DATA TO SUIT THEMSELVES.

SINCE 2016 I BECAME AWARE OF THE ATM FRAUD AS CONDUCTED BY CIMB BANK. I HAVE VIDEOS OF THE ORDEAL FROM 2016. AND 2019 I WAS ABLE TO RESOLVE IT VIA MY CANADIAN BANK BUT IT DID REVEAL THAT CIMB AND NOW MEPS WAS ENGAGED IN AN ONGOING- ATM FRAUD OPERATION THAT WAS TARGETED AT MALAYSIANS. AND IN MY CASE GEARED TO MY FOREIGN CANADIAN BANK CARD.
