the heat recently has been driving me insane, it was really bad the last few days. I distracted myself with comfort doodles though!
legoshi may have thick fur but he has built resistance to the heat once he trims his coat in summer...however, I just have sensory issues and feel like I’m suffocating or drowning in lava.

this might be the 3am sadness talking but how nice would it be to get head pats from legoshi ): he seems to have this thing where he pat pats everyone to provide comfort when it’s needed, whether it’s their head like he does with jack or their scales like he does with rokume.
I think head pats would be his go-to comfort pick when it comes to humans as well (yes let’s stretch it to humans here I need this alright be quiet) if you have hair he most likely ruffles it too and no one can tell me otherwise...it’s like a funny reminder that you have only *some* fur and it’s actually normal for you rather than it meaning you’re sick and losing fur instead.
speaking of that fur point, he wraps you in blankets and coats a lot because he worries you might get cold easily even with reassurance. shaving his own fur felt breezy so imagine having almost no fur! overprotective legoshi enters the chat.
this is a self indulgent idea but I’m adding it anyway; it’s too cute. maybe one day he catches you snuggling into his fur, he’s a nice balance of soft yet slightly coarse - I remember seeing an adorable fanart piece of haru wrapping herself up with his tail omg - so whenever you’re upset he pats your cheeks to let you snuggle into his giant paws [crying] pats for comfort and warm fur for extra comfort.
overall maybe the patting is just something he himself finds comfort in so he does it to others around him? because as a very introverted person with zero social skills that’s exactly what my thought process is for comforting people. someone pat him on the head! scratch behind his ears! ruffle the fluff on his cheeks! he deserves it.

I never stop wondering how legoshi dries himself off after a shower. it seems logical to use a hairdryer all over but also too time consuming; a towel wouldn’t do much for fur like that either, it would just leave him still damp. he’s quite particular about his laundry being left after washing for goodness sake so I’m assuming he’d be the same with his fur (and it probably leaves him cold.)
I want to believe he does a big puppy shake and it makes his fur stick up everywhere. he definitely makes some kind of humming sound while he does it but doesn’t realise until someone points it out.
also I randomly giggle at the thought of him having to wring out his tail when it gets completely drenched...I’m just glad no one has asked what I’m laughing about yet - it isn’t exactly an easy thing to explain.

I don’t talk much about shifting here but this was just too cute not to share with someone, somewhere - here’s what happened a few nights ago in my beastars dr:
for some background information, I’m the only human in cherryton. it comes with many struggles but there’s an entire history of humans in the library at school. because it’s a completely different society, I get to learn about my history in that dr one day at a time! also I’m allowed into 701 during daytime; I have the spare room down the hall to myself since they didn’t want to force me into a dorm with beings I didn’t match correctly with.
I walked into 701 and legoshi was mumbling to himself in the bathroom. instinctively I thought he was hurt or something (it’s legoshi so of course that was my gut reaction) so I called out his name and asked if he was alright. the only thing I heard back was “promise me you won’t laugh, okay?”
he opened the door, popped his head out ever so slightly, to reveal rather noticeable, unevenly cut fur on his cheeks 😭
I was like ‘what the hell happened?!’ I was so confused...basically he trims the fur around his face every so often to make sure it doesn’t get in the way. he was trimming after taking care of his newly acquired beetle friend in his little rehabilitation set up. trim, trim, trim - then in the corner of his eye legoshi saw said beetle attempting to crawl out of the set up despite being severely hurt. instant panic on legoshi’s behalf caused his paw to close when he wasn’t paying attention and *drum roll* the result was uneven cheek fur.
I didn’t laugh, I kept my cool, the story was more adorable than funny really. he said that he didn’t trust himself to start cutting again though because of the new length difference so I ended up trimming the fur for him and making it look balanced again. it was such a calm moment between us, it made me feel so warm knowing that he trusted me to help him with something like that. plus his fur is rather soft; very nice to run your fingers through 🥺
