“How deep should the needle go❓” . ✅ Thursday question❓” How deep in millimeters should the needle go in?” . .
🔸 The fast answer is that you should go no deeper than 0.9mm and the ink should be placed in the upper layer of the dermis - BUT why? (The average epidermal thickness is 0.1 millimeters, dermis average thickness about 2 mm.)

👉 First of all, the epidermis is on average 0.1mm thick so why not place the ink in there?
.
🤔 Well because this layer of skin will actually renew itself every month! So if you were to only go this deep then the microblading work will be gone after the healing is complete. That is why some of the strokes disappear, due to too shallow placement of ink.
.
👉 If we place ink in the lower layer of the dermis, instead of the right upper layer of the dermis, what will happen? 🔺 If the ink is quite deep then it is covered by too many layers of skin color, it will actually look blue under the skin. 🔺 Placing ink that deep will form a scar. Having a deep cut in the dermis will cause the body to form new collagen fibers to mend the damaged area. The new scar tissue will have a different texture and quality than the surrounding tissue besides that scar. Meaning that your client will not be able to hold the ink in that area. The tissue will be loose and not have enough tightness to help keep ink. For the same reason when a client comes to you to fix the old tattoo, microblading usually does not hold. .
