As if Friday night wasn't enough, Saturday evening it got even better! "Steve Prince's Kitchen Table Art Talks 2.0" was hosted in the beautiful home of my fellow @saeas.art member and vice president, @asidime11 and her culinary-inclined husband, Stewart Blanton. Presenting Artist @onefishstudio , Aissatou and I are all also @xula1925 Alumni. The talks were set up in four two hour sessions where Steve showcased his magnificent portfolio of linocuts, woodcuts, lithographs and posters. He went into extensive details about the concepts and origins of each piece and, more importantly, how the creation and sale of these works aid in the development of the Nine project. Nine is a collaborative endeavor with fellow Artist, @leahglenndancetheatre , the very first tenured African American Professor of Dance from the Department of Theater Speech and Dance of @william_and_mary , the second-oldest institution of higher education in the United States. Their collaboration was commissioned by a joint venture between the @thecarversa , Xavier University of Louisiana and the National Performance Network .  The project will be in recognition and celebration of the Little Rock 9 and their harrowing and historic struggle with the forces of Segregation. Why? Because it's happening again. The project will entail Visual Art, Dance, Poetry and Music. Their amazing nationwide circuit will begin next year in May and start with San Antonio.
