If i am totally honest I kind of don't like how harsh some of the fandom is at Greg sometimes for being literally homeless and having a magical gem son at the same time. For sure there are places where Greg actually messed up but I feel like in the case of Steven partially growing up in a van and not really having access to medical care and lacking structure because of it is like. Homeless and poor people have kids and its not a moral failing on their part for our society not helping them meet their needs, yknow?

Yeah, it's her kids’ names, and you can see their birth years too. The M, in this case, is for Marguerite "Margaux", who Margaux-Grace was named after, so she has a death year as well 👼🏻

For what seemed like eternity, Jasper existed on a lower level. Aggression, stasis. When all of a sudden, she's mentally and physically brought up into a splash and she's panicking. -Where am I Is this Lapis Oh Stars Where's my kid Where's my kid Where's my fucking-

Sands wades and swims as fast as she can to Jasper and Jasper turns around and engulfs her crying kid in her arms. Maybe she's a little bigger, doesn't look exactly the same. But she'll have a long way to go before she's too big to be completely protected in Jasper's arms. Eventually she notices the Diamonds and Steven and all the other Gems in the pool.

The joy of being together again soons fades however. Sands visits, but she doesn't want to live with Jasper at her cave. Pretty quickly, truths are out and Jasper is struck by many things.

She learns that Sands was basically raised by the Crystal Gems for the last three or so years. That explains all the cowardly baby talk her daughter has now, words like "trauma", "abuse", "anxiety", "triggers". Those fucking worthless Crystal Gems turned her daughter into a wuss.

And Lapis. Fucking Lapis. Jasper completely understood, all those years ago. Lapis Lazuli wanted nothing to do with Jasper or their child Sands. Jasper accepted it because she knew she'd be able to protect and train Sands into a Gem soldier any of the Diamonds would've clamored to have in their court. But when Jasper was bubbled...when Sands had no one, when she was surrounded by those rebels, Lapis didn't even ATTEMPT? To protect her kid? When Lapis was all Sands had, she just kept walking away? She could hate Jasper all she wanted but. Jasper hates the sadness that that makes in her chest. She hates the hurt that that made in their kid.

Possibly the worst of all of this, is Sands looks at Jasper with pity. Pity. PITY. She used to look at Jasper with awe, respect, fear, love. Jasper was her Sire, her protector, her mentor. Those Crystal fucking Pussy Gems have filled Sands' head with all the unimportant details. They told her Jasper was a FUCKING beta. They told her Jasper was what, a "child soldier"??? What the fuck does that even mean?? And now Sands is using stupid human terms like "mom". It makes her want to vomit.

Everything has changed and Jasper is crushed.
