New: Rare Besednice Moldavites
We are so excited to bring you the news that we have a small collection of rare AAA grade Besednice Moldavites, considered the finest examples of Moldavite due to the unique and beautiful 'Hedgehog Spike' erosion patterns formed in the crystals. They are also rare as the mine is now exhausted. The pieces we chose for Venusrox are particularly exquisite and high grade from the location plus are from a private collection of a local Moldavite expert.
We source only from our known network as well as very carefully selecting the pieces with the correct energies. It is such a powerful stone but it has to be right energetically!
“Moldavite is a tough, no nonsense, high energy stone; not to be messed with. It encourages revitalisation and acceleration of one’s path of personal evolution. Moldavite shows one the limitations one has put on one’s life and development and destroys those limitations. If you are addicted to safety and security then watch out! Moldavite helps you stay strong and grounded, not allowing oneself to be pulled off balance by negative influences.” -Venusrox

What Makes Moldavite So Special And Sought After?
By Christine Bailey
Meteor showers and comets are exciting to see in the night sky unless they come too close. Asteroids hit the earth all the time. We don't even notice the stardust specks, but boulder size asteroids get our attention. Imagine what happens when a huge meteor makes a direct hit to the earth. In one case, it was the catalyst for the extinction of dinosaurs. Millions of years ago, one landed where the Czech Republic is today. That explosion started the moldavite craze. Some people believe this substance is part of the meteor, but it isn't. The meteor was the source of this tektite, which was created from drops of liquid that splashed back onto the earth's surface after the impact. The drops became solids as they cooled, and over millions of years worked themselves into the surrounding sand and soil. It's actually a form of natural glass, or tektite. The texture of individual pieces depends on they where are mined. The wetter the ground, the more deeply etched the glass will be. This substance has a connection to the Holy Grail for some. While many believe the Grail is a cup, others argue that is was actually a green stone that fell from the sky. This tektite is green, and it fell from the sky. Mystical stones falling from the sky are a common theme in stories told throughout the world. The Grail is also believed to have healing powers and powers of rejuvenation. Holding the glass is special for certain people. They report feelings of tingling and warmth when it's in their possession. Others feel sensations in their chests and a reddening of the face. This is such a common sensation, it even has been given a name. It is also believed to cause dizziness and lightheaded feelings in a few individuals. The glass is not considered dangerous however. Some people wear it for its professed physical, emotional, and spiritual healing qualities. For those interested in chakras, the glass is said to open all of them. It is most closely associated with the heart. People hold it during healing sessions for a sense of inner peace and well being. As an investment, the larger the piece of this tektite you own, the more valuable it is. Reportedly it has been so mined that pieces weighing over twenty grams are becoming harder and harder to find. As with many things that are rare, its value will probably increase over the years. The specimens found in the town of Besednice are the most sought after and valued. Some of the pieces are extremely delicate and so thin it is hard to believe they have managed to survive for so long. The clay pits where they were originally found are closed now. It is not surprising that much of the natural glass offered for sale in shops and online is fake. The true glass comes only from the Czech Republic. It can be fun, though, to think you are wearing an extraterrestrial gemstone around your neck.

Why Are People So Interested In Moldavite?
By Christine Bailey
Meteors crashing to earth are not just the subject of today's science fiction movies. They are all too real occurrences. Most are not significant enough to cause any particular damage. Others have altered the course of history, and one caused the eventual extinction of dinosaurs. Today they can be predicted with some accuracy. This was not true millions of years ago of course, when major meteors made direct contact with the earth. Moldavite is the result of one such event. What people collect and wear today are not exactly meteor particles. They are the result of fragments embedded in the earth's soil and sand for millions of years. This is natural glass that began as a liquid splash from the meteor impact. As the liquid cooled, it solidified. Over the years its surroundings have etched unique textures in the glass, which is also known as tektite. The glass will have the deepest etchings where the sand and soil contains a lot of moisture. Many believe the Holy Grail is a cup. Still others think that it was a cup made from emerald that fell from the sky. Tektite aficionados argue that the Holy Grail was an emerald colored object that fell from the sky. Since this tektite originated from a meteor that fell from the sky and is green, it follows that the Grail is this glass. Stories about falling stones that vanish and must be found to transform the earth are common throughout the world. When holding a piece of the glass, some people report feeling a strange sensation in their chests, and their faces may get red. This flushed appearance has become so common, people have named it. A lightheaded feeling and dizziness are other effects of the tektite for certain individuals. Although stories float around on the internet that the glass is evil, but has actually been worn for thousands of years as a talisman against evil. People who wear the glass sometimes do so because they believe in the healing powers it reportedly has. It is supposed to have the strength to heal mental, spiritual, and physical deficiencies. During healing sessions, some hold a piece of tektite to increase their sense of well being. This tektite only has investment value for those who own large pieces. The largest are held in museums, and finding anything over twenty grams for public sale is becoming increasingly difficult. The harder it becomes to get, the more value it will probably have. The rarest and most prized glass comes from Besednice in the Czech Republic. Some of the pieces are so thin and delicate, it is hard to believe someone could actually pull them out of clay pits without destroying them. Their intricate etchings are the result of centuries living at the water table. Besednice is no longer mined. If you want a genuine piece of this extraterrestrial glass, you will have to know what you are looking at. Most of the pieces offered online and in specialty stores are fake. It doesn't really matter to some however. They just like the idea that an ancient meteor fragment may be around their necks or on their fingers.

What Is Moldavite And Where Does It Come From?

What Makes Moldavite So Special And Sought After?
By Christine Bailey
Most people have seen meteor showers at one time or another. Occasionally meteors and comets come close to earth, but scientists insist they are light years away. A foreign object crashing into the earth is not unusual however. There have been instances of direct hits with huge impact and devastating consequences. One such event transformed the atmosphere so drastically that it led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. Another occurrence in the area of the Czech Republic resulted in the appearance of moldavite. What people collect and wear today are not exactly meteor particles. They are the result of fragments embedded in the earth's soil and sand for millions of years. Stories about falling stones that vanish and must be found to transform the earth are common throughout the world. Some who hold the substance believe it has special powers. They really believe the tingling sensations and warmth they feel are a direct result of contact with the glass. Facial redness and chest sensations are reported from others who hold these objects. The flushing is so common it has its own name among believers. Feeling lightheaded and dizzy is something a few people experience. People who wear the glass sometimes do so because they believe in the healing powers it reportedly has. It is supposed to have the strength to heal mental, spiritual, and physical deficiencies. This is a tektite called moldavite. A tektite is created in a cosmic event: after a meteor hits our planet, space material is melted and mixed with Earth material from the impact site and gets scattered into the air; some of the molten mixture is launched into space, never to return, while some cools down and comes back as beautiful space gems.
