Escape quotes in JavaScript
I'm outputting values from a database (it isn't really open to public entry, but it is open to entry by a user at the company -- meaning, I'm not worried about XSS).
I'm trying to output a tag like this:
<a href="" onclick="DoEdit('DESCRIPTION');">Click Me</a>
DESCRIPTION is actually a value from the database that is something like this:

I've tried replacing " with \", but no matter what I try, Firefox keeps chopping off my JavaScript call after the space after the word Assess, and it is causing all sorts of issues.
I must bemissing the obvious answer, but for the life of me I can't figure it out.
Anyone care to point out my idiocy?
Here is the entire HTML page (it will be an ASP.NET page eventually, but in order to solve this I took out everything else but the problem code)

hi, new Waterparks fan here again. I’m watching the gloom boys music video for the first time and I. don’t know what is happening. It’s great. It may be more chaotic than all time low’s music videos. Maybe. Maybe on the same level of chaos.
UGHHH YES GLOOM BOYS MV MY BELOVED AND BEMISSED……….. there was a period where they had Some budget due to having a label but still didnt know what to do for music vids so they kept the new wave-era style of fucking around and it was magical. i personally love that awsten called up travis and was like “WILL YOU COME BE IN MY MV WHERE WE DRAG YOU AROUND AND HURT AND HUMILIATE YOU WHILE WE ALL LAUGH :)” and travis was presumably like “im already in the car”
