before spencer & darcy got married in 1989, they knew all they wanted was one child: a girl. yet, their life did not go according to plan. after they welcomed their first child into the world ( a boy ), they figured that the next one would be a girl. they of course loved their son more than anything in this world, but they knew they wanted a daughter to complete their growing family. however, when darcy discovered the sex of their second child was a boy, she knew she wouldn’t stop having children until they welcomed their perfect girl into this world.

what you need to know about the windsor family ( other than their strong southern roots ) is that they’re extremely rich. they are high key based off the carrington’s from dynasty bc i’m #trash. buttttt what you need to know is that they own a multibillion dollar international oil company called windsor industries ( formerly known as windsor petroleum group ).

if you aren’t familiar with oil conglomerates, all you need to know is that windsor industries are responsible for literal power. they are one of the leading producers for oil & gas in the world which is why they have offices all over the country. & let me tell you, they don’t conduct business ethically !! they are notorious for fracking & their continuous use of fossil fuels. when people talk about climate change, they constantly bring up windsor industries & how much they have contributed to global warming. & to make matters worse, spencer & his eldest son put millions of dollars into the pockets of politicians to get them to support their cause & vote against climate change regulation. so if we all burn up one day, you can blame them !!

the windsor family has lived in georgia for generations ( big yikes ) & that’s where they started the family business in 1942. spencer’s grandfather came from a long line of prominent politicians in state politics which is why his family was ready to disown him when he decided to go into business over politics. but when his business took off & he was making more money than everyone else in his family by the age of twenty-two, they quickly shut up & started supporting him.

since then, windsor industries has been passed down from generation to generation. spencer was handed the business on his thirtieth birthday ( twenty years ago ) & has been dominating ever since. once his eldest son turned eighteen, he quickly got him involved & he is expected to take over the family business one day.

as successful as his business is, spencer is known as the bad guy in america. he is a billionaire who doesn’t know what it’s like to come from humble beginnings. he was literally handed a multibillion dollar business & the rest was history !! he definitely is a bad guy since he doesn’t care about the environment or anything else. all he cares about is making money no matter who gets hurt. he was even considered to work for trump at one point but quickly declined !! he just wrote him a big ass check instead bcsjkhdfs

but he does love his family. he would do literally anything for his family despite his tough love approach to his two sons. but when it comes to sloane, he is a complete softie. she can literally do no wrong in his eyes which is why they have such a great relationship !!

darcy, on the other hand, did not come from a lot of money. like her husband, she’s also from georgia but she’s not from a rich suburb. she is from a rural town where she literally grew up in a trailer. & from an early age, she always knew she wanted more. she was always ungrateful for her life & could have cared less about how hard her parents worked to support her & her three other siblings.

things for darcy changed by the time she was eighteen !! she became miss. america which isn’t that big of a deal for most. but she took pride on receiving that title after years of competing in local pageants. despite not coming from a lot of money, she always knew how to fool the judges & everyone else for that matter. she really could have cared less about school, all she cared about was winning pageants.

so when she made it into miss. universe, she thought her life was going to be complete !! yet, it didn’t go according to plan. darcy lost the competition & her short lived media coverage quickly died. no one knew who darcy sinclair was until it was announced that she was marrying one of the heirs to windsor industries.

the reason why darcy wanted a daughter so bad was so she could also be a pageant contender. she didn’t want her daughter to grow up to be a doctor, a lawyer, or anything else for that matter. all she wanted for sloane from the day she was born was to be a pageant queen.

by the time sloane turned five, her mother had already registered her for her first pageant. & unlike the ones darcy used to compete in, this was prestigious. her entire childhood consisted of tap dancing classes & pageants taking priority over school. & because her parents pride themselves on their southern values, they really could have cared less about their daughter attending school. so it came as no surprise when she started to slip up !!

& of course, they bribed her school to fix her grades. from the outside looking in, everyone wanted sloane’s life. she had it all: money, family, looks, everything. but in reality, her mother was working her like a dog. she would be practicing for pageants seven days a week with little to no breaks. but once she was crowned little miss georgia, they knew she was destined for greatness.

the older she got, the more pressure her mother would put on her. & sloane took that pressure extremely seriously. all she ever wanted was to please her mother, so she would strive to be nothing less than perfect. & in order to keep up with the strict demands of her mother & her life, she started turning to drugs. at first, she would start taking adderall to have more energy that way she can cater to her hectic schedule.

even sloane will admit that her high school years were a blur due to her growing drug abuse. the only thing holding her together was her growing addiction to pills. her mother knew. she saw the empty pill bottles lying around her bathroom & there was even a late night where she had to call 911 after finding her only daughter unresponsive. but she never told anyone. she never even asked sloane if she was okay or if she needed help. she only cared about her daughter becoming miss. universe since that was a title that she was robbed of.

all her life, sloane has tried to please her mother. everything she has ever done has never been good enough for her. so by the time she was a senior in high school, she decided the only way to escape her life was by going to college. she knew she didn’t have the grades to get in anywhere far enough from atlanta, even if her parents ensured her transcripts were nothing short of flawless. but when she sat her parents down & told them that she wanted to attend college, she was surprised by their reactions. her father, who has always supported sloane, was willing to do anything she wanted even if that meant delaying his wife’s plans for her. & even her mother came around on the idea after she promised her that she would go back to training for miss. universe once she finished college.

& following her graduation from high school, she packed her bags & went to the university of chicago. she figured that this was a school far enough away from her mother which is why she told her father this was the school of her dreams. sloane never questioned anything during her applications process. all she knew was that she needed to leave her mother’s grasp & learn to live life for herself.

at college, she had decided to study photography soon realizing that is one of her passions in life. & she’s damn good at it too. & even though sloane started living life in college, her drug addiction only worsened. there, she was introduced to even more drugs & the craze of combining uppers & downers.

things started to get crazy last year during the college admissions scandal when it was revealed that spencer & darcy had paid to get sloane accepted into the university of chicago. the school agreed to allow her to finish the semester before they would ultimately expel her due to the negative press coverage. & of course on her last night at school, sloane ended up in the hospital.

after combining far too many uppers & downers at a frat party, she overdosed. this was not the first time she landed up in the hospital after a night out, but it was the first time her father found out. & once he found out, he ensured that she would seek the help she needed.

so that’s where sloane spent the entire summer !! in a private rehab center seeking treatment for drug addiction. however, her family could not afford anymore scandals. so they quickly buried any stories about their youngest child’s overdose & told the media that she was traveling the world with friends this summer. sloane’s scandal is something that they are without a doubt ashamed of despite how many times her father has insisted the opposite. they are willing to do anything to bury this secret, no matter the cost.

now, she’s twenty years old & living in new york. following her discharge from rehab, she wanted to move as far away from chicago as she could. she knows she can’t enroll in college anytime soon given her family’s involvement in the college admissions scandal, but she is wiling to do just about anything to avoid moving back home.

nowadays, you can find sloane vlogging !! she has a v successful youtube channel that is similar to matt king’s ( if ya’ll know who that is ily ). but all you need to know is that she is a daily vlogger with an artsy style & she definitely does q & a videos & all that fun stuff. she is still very dependent on her father’s money but she is making a lot of money off youtube.

personality wise, i’d say she’s pretty easy going. her taste isn’t the usual which i’ll probs go into a little bit, but that doesn’t mean she’s not approachable unlike vi.

truth be told, she’s all over the place & has a lot of depth. she has the ability to light up any room she walks into but that doesn’t mean she lets people walk all over her. after dealing with darcy sinclair for eighteen years, sloane knows when to fight back & channel her rich bitch side.

she’s also really fucking smart despite her fuck ups & she would know her true potential if she just stopped getting fucked up all the time. even though she went to rehab, she isn’t clean but that doesn’t stop her from telling her dad she is.

has never had a serious relationship tbh

instead, she’s had flings that are like relationships without the title.

she may act like an independent bitch but she is also a 100% a daddy’s girl & calls him up for money every other week

Drawing Life: A Look Into the Process of Making a Documentary About George Booth.

I was so excited about Drawing Life, the documentary about legendary cartoonist George Booth, that I invited Nathan Fitch and Emily Collins to do a Case about their process for making the film! The Drawing Life Kickstarter is almost out of time, so make sure you check it out before it ends on April 20th, to snag some neat prizes!

Bio:

Nathan: I’m a filmmaker, cinematographer and educator based in Brooklyn, New York. My short form films have been published by The New Yorker, The New York Times, TIME, and NPR. My first feature length documentary, Island Soldier, was broadcast on America ReFramed/PBS in November 2018. You can learn more about my work on my website.

Emily: I am an animator and artist. By day, I run an animation studio called Mighty Oak. I also work independently on drawings and films. I am really excited to be working on creating the animations for the upcoming documentary about George Booth, Drawing Life, and to be collaborating with such talented artists like Nathan and George!

Tools of Choice:

Nathan: I studied Illustration in undergrad (Otis College of Art and Design), and while I rarely draw these days, I think the concepts of composition and visual storytelling I bring to filmmaking are rooted in that grounding. I think the tools are in many ways dictated by the specific project that I’m working on. By and large, the stories that I’m interested in telling are intimate personal narratives, and I generally try to work in a way that allows me to have the smallest possible footprint. Having a genuine connection and interest in the subjects that I make films about is also very important.

Emily: It depends on what type of animation I am making. For animating in stop-motion, I use LED light panels, an animation table, a Canon5D, a tripod and Dragonframe software. That is the bare minimum. I also need to be in dark room for long periods of time. Stop-motion is a good medium for vampires. If I am animating in a hand-drawn style, or animating scanned drawings, I use a Canon scanner, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere.

Tool I wish existed:

Nathan: I sometimes with that I could implant cameras in my eyes, because the most incredible moments always happen when I don’t have a camera trained on a situation.

Emily: I wish Photoshop was better set-up for animation. It allows one to do a lot with manipulating single images and using unique brushes to draw with, but is not super-intuitive for sequencing images. I realize that is probably a boring answer, but it’s true!

Tricks:

Nathan: It sounds a bit obvious, but learning how important collaboration is in the process of making a film. I try to surround myself with talented creators who I can both be inspired by, and hopefully find the right project to collaborate with. Creative mutual support is critical in the filmmaking process.

Emily: Because there is so much animation out there right now, I’ve noticed that animators are getting away with lower frame rates, or really simple animated elements. I think the trick, or secret, when one has to animate a lot of material quickly, is remembering that the entire scene does not need to be animated, and that you can express a lot by animating only one critical detail or element.

What inspired you to make a documentary about George Booth?

Nathan: I met George Booth at a social event held at The New Yorker editor David Remnick’s residence several years ago, and pretty much immediately knew that I wanted to make a film about him. He was so charming, had amazing stories, and had served in the Marines during World War II at the same time as my grandfather. It was not until after that initial meeting that I realized that I had been seeing and loving his cartoons for a large part of my life.

I was also very excited about the idea of incorporating animation into the film, so it was fantastic that Emily was interested in bringing her expertise in animation onto the project.

What do you wish people knew about the documentary making process?

Nathan: Documentary filmmaking involves a lot of collaboration. This not only includes the collaboration of the filmmaking team, but often times with the subjects who allow you into their lives. A really fun part of working on Drawing Life has been how performative George is on camera, which feels like a form of collaboration. We are also very lucky for all the support we’ve been getting from George’s daughter, Sarah Booth.

What is something that you learned while filming Drawing Life that surprised you?

Nathan: A part of the reason I wanted to make a film about George Booth was because he served in the Marine Crops during World War II at the same time as my grandfather. While they never met, they shared a lot of things in common (both were from the countryside, similar sense of humor, etc). My grandfather passed away more then ten years ago, but a surprising and delightful aspect of working on Drawing Life is that I feel like I’ve come to understand him in a more complete way then I ever did when he was alive. It’s really a privilege to get to speak to someone who has seen the world change so much in the course of a lifetime, as George certainly has.

FUCK Tampa. (part 2)

The bones of St. Pete have a lot character-- one might describe the architecture throughout as charming; the roads layout as a grid with Streets running east to west and Avenues south to north. The east side hits the waterfront where the piers reside, and to the far west are the beaches. From waterfront to beach is maybe about 20 miles, but downtown to the Grand Central District at 16th street is an easy walking distance. Everyone knows everyone in the scene, and for the most part everyone gets along. There are occasional minor spouts of drama, sure, but in general we’re united for good against our common enemy: ‘the Man’, Nazis, and anyone from Tampa.

Surrounding downtown are 15 distinctly historic neighborhoods fanning out on either side from Central Avenue, which divides the city down the middle into north and south. There’s Old Northeast, Roser Park, Jungle Prada, Crescent Lake and Snell Isle among others. Each whimsical neighborhood has a unique pulse, comprised of colorful craftsman houses, sprawling spanish style mansions with terracotta clay roofs, or little bungalows like my house in Historic Kenwood.

I purchased my house in 2004, a tiny pink tudor style built in 1941, with white shutters and a pointy grey roof located on 9th Avenue North at 28th Street. Originally constructed as vacation homes for snowbirds, little homes like this are super common in Kenwood. Inside my bungalow there are two teeny bedrooms on either side of the living room, dark hardwood floors throughout, and checkered ceramic tile in the kitchen. The bathroom’s shower faucet was dysfunctional, requiring a pipe wrench to turn the water on but in the five years I lived there, I never got around to fixing it. One winter we turned the Florida room in the front of the house into a makeshift bedroom where Faith lived before she got knocked up with her first baby Juliet.

My house becomes the hub for so many epic house parties; a revolving cast of roommates and couch crashers. An orphanage for wayward drunk girls and boys, at some point or another just about everyone close to me has lived there. The backyard, about 4 times the size of the house itself had a chain-length fence running the parameter so all my neighbors could witness the debauchery in real-time. The garage was separate. Early on, I turn this shed into a studio work space but eventually rent it out to a handful of people over the years who need a place to live despite the fact that the garage isn’t exactly what you’d call livable-- no bathroom, a/c or ceiling.

In the summertime, my backyard has a kitty pool, a slip-n-slide and a constant keg of Yuengling. I’d mow the lawn only after the City gave notice of an impending fine, so the yard was always overrun with grass up past your knees. Here I lived until 2009. During these years, my little pink house will go down in history as one of the great party houses this side of the Bay, the last of which saw three kegs killed. A local metal band played a show that night in my garage, their mosh pit busted a huge hole in the drywall and some assholes started an uncontrolled fire in the alley. The cops came to break it up but we still had people sleeping on couches hauled out into the backyard come morning amid the hundreds of red solo cups littered across my lawn.

But, I am not technically from there-- my closest friends and I did not grown up in St. Pete proper, a fact which sets us apart. We remain “new kids” to the scene for years, in contrast to the original crew of rabble-rousers-- generations upon generations of brothers and little sisters indoctrinated to punk from a young age who’d been kicking it together causing trouble and setting dumpsters on fire since they were prepubescent.

Quinn, Emily, Carolyn, Alex, Diane and I are all originally from Seminole, a suburban enclave to the Northwest. Seminole is a “good” area, which just meant that any crime occurring was happening behind closed doors. In Seminole there are residential neighborhoods with names like Bay Haven, Imperial Point, or Rustic Pines, and tract homes that span for miles. Our local mall was desolate-- anchored by a depressing food court and a K-Mart, frequented only by the residents of a neighboring nursing home who would sit on benches all day staring out into the nothing. On the main boulevard is the only restaurant in town, Joto’s, a “family friendly” pizza joint where suburban moms and dads would hang out amid the local high school jocks, reliving glory days over bud lights, televised football games and greasy food.

Anna grew up in nearby Pinellas Park, just to the east, best known for biker bars, white-trash trailer parks and an enduring meth epidemic. Anna lived in Seminole with her grandparents the years she attended middle school due to instabilities with her mom, stepdad and their ever-relapsing drug addictions. We met Anna back then but didn’t become good friends until years later when Emily and Anna will unknowingly be sleeping with the same guy. When the truth broke, they decided they liked one other better than they liked him anyway, and have been best friends ever since.

Quinn, Emily, Alex and I are Seminole High School class of 2002. Angsty outcasts, the rest of the school was all Abercrombie & Fitch; way too enthusiastic about attending and participating in sports related activities, pop music and having nice cars-- the four of us did not fit in. Surviving a fairly sheltered, very boring adolescence, our summer days were spent hanging out on John’s Pass-- an old fisherman’s wharf on the Gulf of Mexico where we would play board games or read books at a coffee shop located on the far East end of the docks. After nightfall we would hang out under a bridge where skater punks would use the uneven cement to facilitate flip tricks. While we’d watch them skate, they’d tell stories, cultivating for us an alluring mythology of downtown St. Pete: tales of out-of-control shows at State Theater and the Refugee a mission/music venue that fed the homeless population. The Refugee was run by a new-agey Christian man who fancied himself akin to a modern Jesus-- all walks were always welcome there.

There was the C.O.R.E., a radical bookstore on the far southside of town where you could buy extremist literature (even things that were government banned like the Anarchist’s Cookbook, prominently displayed on racks towards the front). They skaters would speak of long nights spent drinking quarts of malt liquor on dirty beach just east of the pier where you could look out across the Bay and watch the bright lights of Tampa on the other side.

The Globe had the best nachos. A buck would get you a cup of coffee, 50 cents more buys a few refills and because the Globe was open until 4am, it was an excellent place to stay out all night when your parents thought you were staying at a friends house. Josh Sullivan always worked the front counter, and was the coolest. Josh really loved ska music so he’d dance whenever it played on the stereo. He had a cat named Slap that he’d walk on a leash, and was the creator of JoshComics, an iconic local zine.

At the age of 17, we venture beyond the beaches and onto the streets of downtown. Overnight we go from good suburban girls to drinking Mickey’s at punk houses-- making out with older guys in studded jackets, bullet belts, mohawks and too many facial piercings. In 2002, when we turned 18, Quinn, Emily, and Alex all move into a house on 26th Street and 4th Avenue. I secure an apartment at 5th and 5th right next to the Coliseum. Soon after, Anna will move into a ground floor apartment in my complex. On Saturdays when she isn’t working, Anna and I will smoke pot on her big blue couch by the window discussing our plans-- when and how we will escape Florida; who was working that night at World Liquors, and if they would sell to us.

Ready Or Not - Retold by Me (and a little side story)

I never really watch horror or thriller movies on big screens but this one is manageable because it has a dark comedy along with it. It’s R-16, by the way.

About last month, I stumbled upon a horror comedy movie trailer of Ready or Not on my newsfeed in Facebook. I wanted to watch it but I kinda forgot about it since other heavily marketed movies were also showing at the same time.

I planned to watch Angel Has Fallen alone but my sister invited me for a free movie last Friday night and come on, who says “No” to a free movie, right? So yeah, despite the heavy Friday night Cebu City traffic jam, we were able to catch the 6:50PM screening at Ayala Mall.

Side story alert:

Everything seems normal inside Cinema 4 of Ayala. We were all seated when suddenly, there was a little drama on our front row. (Yepp, this is the side story that made me miss the Derek Ramsey anti-piracy act campaign as well as the “fashion show” safety and emergency evacuation plan videos that I always look forward to when I watch movies in Ayala). My sister and I were in M15 and M16 and a certain group of friends were already seated in row L in front of us. However, another group of coño rich kids entered the cinema and claimed that their tickets were reserved for row L as well at the same particular spot where team first comers were seated.

So this guy from team coño RK who resembles Nick from Masterchef Season 10 approached team first comers. The approach was not so diplomatic at all as he radiates a somewhat arrogant aura. I don’t know if team first comers got confused in reading their tickets because it turns out that they were supposed to be seated in row R, not L, which means that they are sitting in team coño RK’s reserved seats. So they moved out of the seats and transferred to another column of seats still in row L. I know this was still wrong since they were supposed to be seated in row R. With this, the arrogant guy from team coño RK approached the security guard. He didn’t do this out of concern for those seated in row L, if any. He did it because he was obviously pissed off for after returning to his seat he said, “My god I love this country.” in an arrogant tone as if it’s a Filipino thing to do it.

This guy needs to learn that generalization is not a righteous thing to do. The whole will always be greater than the sum of its parts. To call out a country for a little mistake over a movie theater is just so absurd and that is why I am writing this. I was definitely pissed off by his arrogance. If he blames a country for that little incident, can I blame his country too for his arrogance? Of course, I won’t do it. People are different and are assholes on their own account and not because of the country that they were born to or the country that they live in. It’s very apparent to me that the arrogant guy has some sort of attitude problems or just mental issues.

So let’s go back to the movie.

The movie revolves around the Le Domas estate where generations’ worth of family history was preserved. The Le Domas empire was known to make great names in the classical board gaming industry which was started by their greatgrandfather, Victor Le Domas with a certain agreement with Mr. Le Bael, their benefactor.

The opening scene unfolds during the wedding night of Helen Le Domas where her family was hunting her groom for sacrifice. Young brothers Alex and Daniel were running around and Alex hid Daniel with a lamp in a dumbwaiter elevator. The heavily injured bloody groom stumbled upon the young Alex who immediately screamed, “He’s here!”. The family members came, including Helen who was helplessly watching while being restrained by her family members as her captured groom was taken for sacrifice.

Years later, Alex, who left his family due to the gruesome family tradition went back to the Le Domas estate to marry his fiance, Grace. She came from a foster home and with no permanent family to go home to, her marriage with Alex after 18 months of courtship meant a lot to her. She then met the whole Le Domas family. I’ve had enough effort to make my humble illustration of the Le Domas family tree.

Helen - Alex’s aunt who gives off that Ursula aura and just stares creepily at anyone. It’s quite obvious that she doesn’t like Grace.

Tony - Alex’s father whom she described as “dressed like attending a funeral”.

Becky - Alex’s mother who, like her, is a smoker and also found a home in the Le Domas family. Becky expressed how she likes Grace to be part of her family.

Daniel - Alex’s drunkard brother who, like Alex, doesn’t like the family tradition and just doesn’t care.

Charity - Daniel’s wife who knew of the family tradition before marrying Daniel and even so told Daniel that she came from something worse and she’d rather die than lose all of these - referring to the Le Domas life.

Emilie - Alex’s drug-addicted sister who came late and wasn’t even able to attend the actual wedding ceremony.

Fitch - Emilie’s husband who struggles with using his weapon.

After the wedding, the family had a wedding pictorial for the newlyweds where most of Alex’s family members talked about how Grace will never be one of them. Daniel said that he agrees that Grace is indeed not one of them because she has a soul.

During their wedding night, Grace wanted to spend an intimate time with her husband when suddenly, Helen appeared in their room and reminded Alex that they still had one more thing to do as a part of their family tradition in accepting new members of the family.

The family members went into the room exclusive only for the Le Domas family members. The room contained antique weapons, taxidermy of animals from hunting, and paintings of their ancestors including the empire’s benefactor, Mr. Le Bael. Tony explained the family history of what made the family’s wealth as well as the reason why they must do the tradition. Years ago, their great grandfather, Victor Le Domas met a merchant named Mr. Le Bael who promised to make his family wealthy if they establish a tradition of family initiation. At midnight, the new member will choose a card from a stack of cards inside a very antique box. The cards are written with various games which could be chess, backgammon, old made, hide and sick etc. since they made their fortune from manufacturing various board games. Grace laughed in astonishment when she got the Hide and Seek card which made the whole family uncomfortable. Unknown to Grace, she picked the one and only deadly card among the stack. They locked down the whole estate and turned off all the CCTV cameras to respect traditions and started the game while playing the music “Hide and Seek” by Headquarters on a phonograph.

Not knowing what lies before her, Grace started hiding inside a dumbwaiter elevator in the family estate while the family members armed themselves with the antique weapons from the room. Helen got an axe while Becky got a bow and arrow. Tony, Emilie, Daniel and Charity got guns while Fitch got a crossbow that he doesn’t even know how to use. The family started hunting down Grace before the dawn breaks believing that Mr. Le Bael wants her as a sacrifice or else all of the members of the Le Domas family will die.

Alex found Grace in time before his family finds her. Grace, still not getting the game, thought that it was a silly way to spend their wedding night until they heard footsteps approaching which made Alex eager to hide Grace. The footsteps turned out to be that of the maid's.

Believing that it was Grace's footsteps, Emilie shot the maid's face with her gun. Seeing the gruesome fate of the maid made Grace realize what the game is all about.

Alex instructed Grace to go to the kitchen while he unlocks the doors from the CCTV room. Fitch, who was in the bathroom, heard their vague whispers but disregarded it and continued watching a video tutorial on how to use a crossbow. Alex was able to unlock the doors in the estate but was held captive by his family. Alex pleaded his family to let Grace leave as she is the most important person to him, even more important than his family. Becky disagreed with Alex and told him that she knew him more than the girl whom he'd spent time with in one and a half year. Helen said that Alex's fate was not to leave his family but to lead them.

Panic-driven Grace forgot the way to the kitchen and stumbled upon Tony, Helen, and Daniel who were disposing the maid's body. Grace ran for her life and went to the weapons room to get a gun and a load of bullets to fight herself back. She was able to find the kitchen but was confronted by the butler. When she aimed a shot at the butler, the gun didn't fire and the butler revealed to her that the ammunition is just for the show and she will eventually die in a sacrifice.

Grace was able to escape the butler and ran outside where she entered the goat barn where Emilie's son shot her with a gun. Pissed off Grace punched the boy who immediately fell on a haystack. Injured Grace fell in a pit where bodies of dead goats and human sacrifices were disposed of. She struggled her way up and was able to run into the road where she sought the help of a stranger in a car. The car passed by her and refused to give her a lift so she had to run to the woods where the butler found her. She was able to knock out the butler and take his car. While driving, she called out the emergency service but to her dismay, the car was reported as stolen so the emergency service refused to help her. The butler was able to catch up to her and sedated her. On their way to the Le Domas estate, Grace woke up and knocked out the butler again but she ended up crashing the car and falling in the hands of Daniel who, despite not agreeing with the family tradition, didn't want his family to die either and decided to knock out Grace and bring her to the Le Domas estate for sacrifice.

Waking up in the sacrificial table at almost end of the dawn, Grace was tied up while the family performed their ritual. They drank wine from a single cup except for Daniel who non-lethally poisoned the wine which has given Grace an ample amount of time to escape. On their way to escape, they were confronted by Charity who ended up killing her husband, Daniel.

Grace stumbled upon Becky who, eager to keep her family alive, attempted to kill Grace at all cost. Grace fought back and grabbed the antique box of cards and brutally hit Becky's head with it over and over again. Alex, who escaped from being captive, saw Daniel’s lifeless body lying on the floor and witnessed Grace killing his mother. Having a sudden change of heart, he took hold of Grace and screamed "She's here!" so that his family can find Grace.

Waking up at the sacrificial table again, Grace was held tightly by the members of the Le Domas family in their sacrificial ritual. All of the family members yelled "Hail, Satan!" while Alex aimed for Grace's heart to which Grace was able to dodge.

Revealing that the game failed because the sun was already up and the dawn has ended, Helen was still determined to finish the ritual. She got her axe and aimed at Grace when suddenly, she exploded into bits and pieces of her guts. One by one, each remaining member of the Le Domas family exploded leaving only Grace and Alex. Alex pleaded Grace to reunite with him and that he really loves her at all cost to which Grace removed her wedding ring and said, "I want a divorce." Alex exploded just like the rest of his family. Grace laughed at the absurdity of what happened to her when she an image of Le Bael showed itself with a look of approval to her survival.

Grace took her late mother-in-law’s cigarettes and in her blood-filled wedding dress, went outside the burning estate. The rescue team approached her for her injuries and asked what happened. "In-laws", she said and puffed a smoke from the cigarette. The end!

Side story ending:

After the movie ended, a group of friends went ahead and the arrogant guy from team coño RK shouted, "Dickheads!" at them. I don't know but it was dark and there's no way of finding if that was the team first comers, if it wasn't then shame on the warfreak dickhead who shouted dickheads at them and if it was indeed them then still shame on the warfreak dickhead who shouted dickheads at them. Either way, the arrogant guy should learn humility and that is what this generation really should learn.

A lot of times people feel superiors and entitled to a lot of better things in life. We need to remind ourselves that we were not born to make other's lives miserable. Instead, we are here in this life to be a blessing to others.

Movie review

I really thought that this movie will only be on Netflix and not on theaters since the marketing is not really that competitive. Ready or Not is a hidden gem compared to its heavily commercialized competitors.

The characters’ casting is not so loud in the celebrity world. Samara Weaving who played Grace does has a close resemblance to Margot Robbie but she does give off a different angst and feisty character to the role.

Even the scenes were limited to about three places only - the Le Domas estate, the barn and the forest. Even so, they were able to pull off that creative artistry in telling a story with those places.

I would really say that this is a fun movie despite the gruesome scenes and violence in it. Based on how I understand it, the point of this story is that nothing worth having comes easy and if it is indeed easy, you'd still have to pay the price of it in one way or another.

i may have gotten way too screenshot-happy when i started playing drew but that’s because these are the only photos i have of my old favorite family, and both of them either obfuscate or don’t have a member so i had to post both of them. not all of the kids are biological, but most of them are.

in order of family-joinage

Rian Fitch (only dude with blond hair): this wasn’t even kind of a legacy because i motive cheated like a fucking monster and played with an obscenely long lifespan but he was the founder nonetheless. i believe his traits were slob, neurotic, brave, flirty, and neurotic. actually not a bad loadout because he could work as hard as i wanted him to, come home, scream into the void, and then we could get on with the day without every action being greyed out because “Rian is too stressed to do that”. his ltw was to become an international super spy and he fucking made it. family man despite not having the traits for it, couldn’t keep his hands off his wife.

Colleen Fitch (woman Rian has his arm around): she had the flirty trait so i’m like 80% certain she was part of a randomized warm-body household i lovingly called “the legion of fuck-bots” because all eight of them had the flirty trait. save for an old fling she had hanging around her relationship panel like a bad smell until she could corner him at a party and tell him to fuck off, she actually stayed faithful. also had the schmoozer, genius, and snob traits but i couldn’t tell you what her fifth one was. loved her kids so much she gave all of them her chubby cheeks and basically ruined any shot they had at growing out of their baby faces. wanted to be a creature-robot crossbreeder, didn’t make it that far because she spent like three sim-weeks on family leave and took forever to get caught up.

Matthew Fitch (red hoodie and glasses): you know that band geek in high school who constantly talked about buffy the vampire slayer even though that show ended when he was five? of course you don’t, because that’s an archetype i made up to describe matthew, but boy did it describe him. grumpy (not that he ever showed it), virtuoso, night owl, supernatural fan. had the master of the arts ltw and was the guitarist of his and his siblings’ shitty blues rock garage band The Basic Fitches. also had a cute boyfriend. i had Colleen mix up some bottled vampire’s bite as a gift for his YA birthday, but my game didn’t make it that far.

Andrew Fitch (peacoat in first picture, wetsuit in second): boy howdy was this boy a piece of work. he didn’t really give me anything solid to build a personality headcanon off of. he was going to be the family’s athlete but then he rolled the couch potato trait and that was off the table. i don’t remember his other traits but i decided he was going to be the quirky inventor because he didn’t roll up any talent traits and i really really wanted an inventor. he had a part-time janitorial job at his school (nraas careers mod) and his work uniform included a goofy hat. he rolled SO many wants to play pranks--in-story, it was to impress a tough girl he liked. he wasn’t in The Basic Fitches but he played the laser rhythm-a-con. he never rolled a ltw.

Emily Fitch (red sweatervest): she and andrew were twins. a teacher’s pet and a nerd. she had the genius trait, i know that much. she spent most of her time being an excellent student, working part time at the hospital (nraas careers again), and getting abducted by aliens. i’m dead fucking serious, whenever aliens would visit the house, it would ALWAYS be her. if the game saved photos taken with the in-game camera as screenshots, i would have so many photos of her cute stink face. she had a crush on a guy at school but her attempts to woo him were foiled at every turn. she even got a rabbithole message at prom that stated “Emily asked her crush to dance, but got rejected in front of everyone!” so even the fucking game was rubbing it in. she had the chess grandmaster ltw and played the keyboard in The Basic Fitches.

Lily Fitch (purple dress): Lily and her counterpart basically joined the family because i have the supernatural fan trait in real life. she had the grumpy and heavy sleeper traits and three others i can’t remember. she and her counterpart were emily and andrew’s respective imaginary friends, and the second they came in the mail you can bet i had rian power-mixing potions on the chemistry table. in-story, she had a weird relationship with her status as an imaginary friend; even without my input other sims just naturally gravitated to her, and sometimes she just wanted to turn back into a doll that only emily could see. she had the super popular ltw and played drums in The Basic Fitches.

Larry Fitch (flat cap in the first pic, not in the second one): Lily’s counterpart. he had the artistic, photographer’s eye, and disciplined traits, i know that much. in-story, he embraced humanity much more readily and became the voice of reason (relatively speaking). he actually had a significant other, so that automatically put him ahead of the rest of the Fitch children (other than Matthew), socially speaking. i embraced the photographer’s eye trait, so he became something of a shutterbug. his favorite subject was emily’s stink face. he had the visionary ltw and played the bass in The Basic Fitches.

not shown in this picture because she does not, strictly speaking, exist anymore due to awesomemod’s shitty autosave system is Amber Fitch. she was born a time anomaly ghost (nandonalt’s supernatural baby on full moon mod) and made it to toddler with the absent-minded and athletic traits. i like to imagine her big brother Matt could not believe his eyes when Rian and Colleen brought her home.

This Is Us Fans Are GUTTED By The Super Bowl Episode — See The Most Tear-Filled Twitter Reactions HERE!

AHHHHHHHH.

We knew this was coming, but it still doesn't make it any easier! NBC and This Is Us finally revealed the way Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) died -- and it had all the feels following the Super Bowl.

**WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD**

While fans knew a fire was the catalyst for the Pearson patriarch's death, they weren't 100% positive he died in the fire. Fan theories of death caused by smoke inhalation had been circulating all week, and sadly they were confirmed Sunday night.

You see, Jack wound up rescuing everyone by lowering them down into the yard from the second floor with a bed sheet. He was about to jump himself until the family could hear the barking of teen Kate's (Hannah Zeile) pup. At this point the audience could see Jack's hesitation to escape before trying to save the animal. And so could Rebecca (Mandy Moore). Rebecca demanded Jack leave the pet behind, but Father Of The Year couldn't let Kate down so he went back into the window to get the dog. So now teen Kate, Rebecca, and teen Randall (Niles Fitch) are all waiting for Jack to make it out when they see a blaze come through the room they last saw him in. It's this moment when both the family and the audience are panicking, thinking Jack is probably burning to death. Leave it to This Is Us to keep twisting the road though, because Jack DOES make it out of the house WITH the dog.

(For all you Kevin fans, teen Kevin (Logan Shroyer) is out in the woods with girlfriend, so he is completely unaware of everything at this point.)

Oooookay. So now the Pearsons have lost their house but not their hope as everyone seems to be FINE following the fire. Keyword here being seems. Jack has some burns on his body, and he has inhaled a dangerous amount of smoke. The EMTs are highly recommending he get to the hospital ASAP. Rebecca drops the kids off at Miguel's (Jon Huertas) and they head into the hospital to get the damage checked out. It's there that the doctor reiterates the unhealthy amount of smoke Jack took in, but for everyone concerned, things are generally looking safe. Rebecca takes this opportunity of relief to leave his room and make a few phone calls to nearby hotels. As soon as she left his room, ahhhh shit. Fans knew.

As she's making the phone calls, the audience sees nurses and doctors scrambling behind her into Jack's room (completely out of her view). Things are NOT good. When she hangs up, she goes to the pathetically empty snack machine and grabs a candy bar. That's when the doctor walks up and starts telling her the news. Jack died of cardiac arrest. Jack died. JACK DIED. And he was completely alone when he died. She was not with him. JACK DIED. Inhaling that much smoke not only affects the lungs, but the heart too. It was too much damage. Jack died.

The episode doesn't end there, but that's the moment everyone was waiting for -- the moment that had been torturously teased out over two seasons. In later scenes we learn: Rebecca spends every Super Bowl Sunday by cooking Jack's favorite lasagna and watching the big game by herself (Miguel gives her space every year on this day), Kevin (Justin Hartley) finally visits his father's place of rest and has a chat with his spirit, Jack sends Rebecca a sign every year on Super Bowl Sunday, Kate (Chrissy Metz) almost loses the VHS of her singing with Jack watching but Toby (Chris Sullivan) gets it saved with the help of a guy he knows, Kate uploads the video in the cloud (not on the cloud), Randall (Sterling K. Brown) celebrates the Super Bowl every year with a huge party for his daughters and their friends, Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) accidentally kills the new pet lizard and Randall comes to terms with his mourning of Jack when he gives a memorial for the pet reptile, Randall and Tess (Eris Baker) have a heart to heart where Tess reveals she's been feeling like Randall wants a new life but realizes that's not true and she'd actually like the family to foster again, Deja (Lyric Ross) comes back, and finally, we learn that Tess grows up to become a social worker who matches foster children with new homes -- and Randall meets her for dinner once a week at her office.
