#persona 4 #p4 #persona 4 golden #p4g #hanamura yosuke #yosuke hanamura #this scene gets to me because it reveals how a lot of yosuke's talk about getting a gf or meeting a girl and all of that is just... talk #on the one hand it's atlus needing the best friend character to fill that role of “lets check out girls!”#on the other hand it also reads to me as another facade of yosuke's struggle to meet his idealised conception of an average teenage boy #see it's funny because even in the first instance the role is always a bit deeper than it is #slight spoilers for p3 and p5!!!#but in junpei's case regardless of his flirtations he doesnt actually reciprocate or is even a potential LI for femmc #in ryuji's case when ann turns on the charm and offers to go on a date with him he tells her off and says that she should be like herself #i think that theres always a surprising level of nuance to be found with that skirt-chasing stereotype atlus likes to give us #i think yosuke's narrative here quite closely parallels junpei's in that theyre actually super devoted people #and yosuke has found an attachment to saki in the way junpei had with chidori so of course hes not willing to compromise on it #its such a mixed thing because even though he knew saki's kindness to him was probably faked yosuke's loyalty to her was already set #yosuke strikes me as the type of person that if youre nice to him once he'll follow you for life #i love that nanako was the one that responded to yosuke with like “oh like homework?” and yosuke gently plays along #its evocative of his tendency to shoot his mouth off only to quickly cover it up with a joke #but yu is there in the room as well listening and empathising and i think it was a moment that really #revealed to us (and yu) yosuke's underlying motivations and beliefs #even if it was sandwiched between the moment of yosuke trying to look at yu's prn #or perhaps especially because it was sandwiched between that moment the juxtaposition becomes more salient #that such talk from yosuke functions as a distraction from the anguish and ennui he feels about losing saki #he's good with his queue

Whatever you say about the X-men movies I will always respect James Mcavoy's acting choices as professor X

(look, Sir Patrick Stewart will always be iconic and James clearly had big shoes to fill) I just love how he took one look at this wise, powerful and well loved character and said fuck it I’m playing him young so I’m going to do what I want, and he was so right for that

case in point

In First Class Charles was a drunk, egoistic, nerdy and obnoxious yet charming trust fund kid who was not above cheap telepathy tricks to get a date

In DOFP he was a drug addict and a complete asshole, who only gave a shit about where he could get his next hit

In apocalypse I think he just went fuck this, I’m just going to be that hot, DILF English lit teacher who all the nerds and gays imprint and crush on

In dark phoenix (yeah me neither) he was literally said "Charles is a rich, manipulative, power hungry bastard who masquerades as a kind soul"

He also made Charles at least 75% gayer (if that's even possible)

It's been long enough, are we good with saying Bioshock Infinite has decent gameplay and an absolutely terrible story

#bioshock #bioshock infinite #art style I'm mixed on #like i honestly would've preferred a ''realistic'' design for the humans because otherwise it's very tonally jarring #i feel like I'm brutally murdering disney characters which you think would be fun but it doesn't feel right in this context #also i hate the story and ESPECIALLY how they handle the vox populi #even when i first played through and thought i liked the game i felt... gross at how they ''both sides'' them #daisy fitzroy desereved better #also i say decent gameplay because i love how the guns and vigors feel but i want to punch whoever suggested the 2 gun limit #IT'S A BIOSHOCK GAME I SHOULD BE A WALKING ARSENAL #sorry to still be mad about this 10+ years later but people who sang Infinite's praises and shat on bio 2 kept me from playing it for years #and in hindsight it's a major crime because i think 2 is the best in the series #(og bioshock is still my all time favorite though. biases)

y'all, I feel like I've said this a lot, it is truly a joy to be a GM, but I am so fucking ready to get out of the chair and be a player again

#the goalpost keeps moving #i think i have 10 more sessions in me max #those sessions will be PACKED. have to have a mini boss fight. the breaking of a curse. the boss fight. some kind of arc resolution #that will be player driven! whatever they want to do with relations between two groups before they go north!#and THEN the long awaited audience with gil galad to hopefully broker some kind of alliance between them and tar miriel.#winter will arrive and it will see them either at sea or in lindon. hoping for lindon but they could fuck up negotiations for sure.#the problem with my notes tbh is that there is a lot of stuff in my brain but not a lot on paper #anyway. christ. what is it like just showing up to a d&d session with a character sheet and a notebook.#AKB will be 3 years old in january #i think i'm still in the hot seat until april #i love this campaign. i do i really do. but hoooooo boy. i want a real break.#this last hiatus doesn't feel like it counted because it was schedule driven and i still have to keep things spinning in my mental space.#not to mention no one GMed anything in the meantime #there was some poll recently that was about being a player for a long form campaign like what type of characters have you played #and one-shots and campaigns that fizzled out <3 sessions in don't count #i looked at that poll and was like well damn. i haven't been a player in a long form campaign since probably... 2016. finishing love between fairy and devil reminded that I had another c-drama (Love like the Galway) that I had paused watching and now that I resumed it, uhh I think I lost track of the ongoing plot and character motivations/backstories 😬

#click clack #resuming shows - hard mode.#I stopped watching at episode 32 and I forgot the main character entered the palace where everything got even more complicated #it’s one of those historical imperial court plots where you have to know every character scheming and/or otherwise #it wasn’t like that in the beginning the plot began at a smaller scale within family for the most part #I think I stopped because my viki subscription ran out #love like the galaxy #despite the title I watched it more for how family dynamics play out it’s just so interesting #the romance is not convincing yet i think it’s on purpose like a slow burn at best?#the main dude needs to convince me and the main character which is interesting to watch! like she just compared him to her mom which is…#oof she has mommy issues ala turning red & eeao #I’m scared my memories are mixing up some scenes and plots from nirvana in fire which was the last one I saw at the end of 2022 #and phew I started that one yearsssss ago but paused watching until last year and had to rewatch the first 8 episodes again

someone on my feed has been talking about kuukou’s unwillingness?? i suppose is the word, to be in the spotlight, especially in regards to this fpmtr➕ chapter

like kuukou functions as if this isn’t his story, he’s not the protagonist of it; moving behind the scenes to ensure jyushi gets his chance to shine on stage and affirm himself, pushing hitoya out of the way to take an attack because he probably could sense hitoya needed to be on that stage facing jakurai, following ichiro’s lead and helping when he asks and it’s interesting to see it reinforced so often

#this is vee speaking #shout out to the bat stans on my feed crying and professing their love for kuukou lmao btch me too holy shit #the brain is making this akin to ‘the buddha guides us all’ that was brought up the other day #and the person on my feed had brought up kuukou’s a hero on the fringes of the story almost like the gojos or all mights in shounen stories #the person who moves stories forward but the outcome is largely based on the protagonist #(lol i’m filling in blanks on what this person I THINK was trying to say lol so if that doesn’t quite make sense my bad 🙇‍♀️)#the op went on cry that kuukou can be a protagonist too and man i feel that lol #like kuukou is a support character but now i wanna know how much of that is self imposed or instinctual lol #if it’s self imposed why???? because he knows he’s not ready for something???? did someone make him think that way????#but on that vein kuukou’s silently working towards his end goal so i think we just aren’t privy to his story yet #(hence why bb vs bat should happen lol what better way to put kuukou in the spotlight than making him go up against the poster boy lol)#and speaking of hella awesome banquet the martyrdom imagery that had been put on him also came into play with this chapter #the mv is a chock full of mixed catholic buddhism aesthetics #but you could piece together sacrifices made for the betterment of humanity from both religions and it’s been placed primarily on kuukou #pretty neat stuff and still kinda concerned if it’ll go any further than just this chapter lol #c: kuukou👑

#rat rambles #oni posting #for context in the raccoon au both olivia and jackie get printing podded dw abt the logistics too much imagine joshua was involved or smth #but basically olivia semi unintentionally ai-ed the two of them after severely wounding jackie #it was the climax of years of brewing resentment and rage so she was acting quite irresponsibly #the two as pods both awken around the same time on different planetoids #you see the reason Im so committed to this idea is not just because of fun character stuff but also because of hypothetical gameplay stuff #the idea of starting on two planetoids that your dupes cant physically travel between but still having to manage both colonies through #teamwork between both colonies has always been an idea Ive been a big fan of #plus I get to imagine the two talking to eachother not knowing that they're like so mega divorced and also they both kind of sucked in life #and by kind of I mean one did an attempted murder and the other was jackie lol #it also gives me the fun space to play in to compare how I imagine ai jackie would be like compared to ai olivia #I imagine her being a lot more eager to build her colony at first until she starts finding gravitas stuff and starts throwing hissy fits #and by that I mean she gets genuinely rly upset and tried to go into denial before eventually cracking under the weight of her own memories #shed try to disctract herself with progress but since the dupes are deliberately designed to avoid progress shed get frustrated fast #now the duped Can invent new things and grow but jackie wouldn't know that and she'd assume they literally can't #she doesnt view her dupes very kindly and without the carrot of progress she'd start spiraling fast I think #this mixed with raccoon au stuff makes for a very messy combination since not only is there the this was all for nothing feeling but also #the this in question involved actively backstabbing the person she loved most and watching as she grew to hate her so much that she #attempted an actual murder against her and somewhat succeeded #and also said person is still around and is berating you for breaking down because she's better at repressing her memories than you #raccoon au jackie is rly the only one I think itd be particularly interesting to keep around post world ending because she already had some #very repressed guilt before the end so the idea of peeling off the film on that amd letting her pop is fun to me #I also like the idea because it forces olivia into a position where shes left for the rest of time with a woman she hated #and not knowing what to do with that as she finds herself feeling less and less towards the woman she one loved and hated #for raccoon au jackie removing her from the life she had before makes it all crash down on her that much harder #and for raccoon au olivia removing her from it makes it all feel oh so small in retrospect #this ofc differs massively from how Id characterize canon olivia and jackie as canon jackie would likely make for a much more boring pod #and rabbit au jackie can't be there because then shed just reassure olivia that shes done nothing wrong ever and theyd go back to their #doomed codependent toxic yuri ways for the rest of time

#im just saying. someone casting a movie has the opportunity to do the most headline-generating thing by casting them as romantic leads #hell i’ll write it for you. cillian as the crime boss and margot as the neighbourhood’s newest hellraiser #(I can’t help it if calm detached and in charge suit-wearer + unhinged chaos bisexual played by margot robbie is my favourite dynamic #the plot could be a mix between ‘tame the wild child to bring her onto my crew’ and ‘i can make him WORSE actually’#which is a fun thing to think about a crime boss #I want Margot’s character to look at Cillian’s and be like. hm. he is not evil enough but we can work on that.#the inevitable scene where she bugs him to dance with her so much that he finally gives in and then they have a Moment™️#but they’re both emotionally constipated so they have no idea how to deal with feelings #probably they go and commit a crime and things go badly and one of them ends up injured #probably her because I feel like then he’d be like. well we can’t be together because she’ll get hurt #and she takes that very badly because she’s a disaster (my favourite margot character portrayal) and does More dangerous shit #maybe she leaves the team for a while and goes out on her own #and he’s trying to find her because he loves her and can’t deal with his feelings #anyway I will write the movie for you for free all I ask is that i get to hang out on set

Coriolanus is possessive.

It sickens him to his very core, sends nausea rolling like a wave through his chest; he’s not a child. Yet, the mere sight - thought - of you engaging with any other man, even innocently, is enough to have him seeing red: white-knuckled, muscles drawn taut like a bowstring, ready to eliminate any and all threat standing between him and his girl.

It's the way those boys look at you. As if you're a piece of meat, a toy to play with that they're just begging, aching to sink their teeth into, to leave a permanent mark on. The boys in this district are barbaric- that's what Coryo thinks anyway. It's disgusting, the things that he knows they think about you.

It's been a long day in District Twelve. Coriolanus' grey jumpsuit rubs and itches and his skin crawls with an uneasiness settled at the pit of his stomach. It's a warm day, his skin sticky as he peels the top half of the jumpsuit from his slender arms and ties it neatly around his waist. The grass by the lake is damp with the leftover dew from the morning.

He catches sight of you amongst the trees, weaving and bobbing through the undergrowth as you do, your lithe fingers brushing against leaves. Your head dips and then raises as his tall figure creeps into your peripheral vision. A smile graces your features, real and earnest with all your teeth.

There’s a slight waver in your countenance when you catch Coriolanus’ own expression; his brows are knit, pushing his forehead into a crease, lips pushed together tersely.

You walk straight into his arms, balancing yourself on one leg and pushing your shoulder underneath his armpit. You needle your way in, your forehead rested against his chin, so close you can feel his breath against your face.

“Hi, gorgeous,” you murmur. You reach up to push out the ridge in his brow and your thumb traces the bridge of his nose in a way that couldn’t be perceived as anything other than unbridled affection. “Something wrong?”

His slender fingers settle against your waist. You shiver at the contact when he spins and pushes you back into a tree. The bark digs into your back as you shuffle to meet his eyes— his eyes that have suddenly clouded with something dark and possessive.

“What is it?” you ask again; your voice is becoming more strained the longer he stays quiet, your own hands snaking up his arms like vines and squeezing.

He shakes his head and drops his face to look at you properly.

“Nothing. I have you.”

“Okay.” You click your tongue, tilting your head at him. His face gravitates towards yours, breath hot and mixing with your own. “You gonna kiss me or what, handsome?”

He doesn’t need any encouragement, surging forward to catch your lips between his own; his hands are rough, kneading the soft flesh of your hip. His other makes its way up to your jaw, fingertips pressing so hard you’re sure he’s branding you. You’ve never been kissed like this, with such fervour and passion and need. You gasp into his mouth and your arm wraps around his neck to pull him further into you.

“Coryo,” you pant.

“Shh,” he forces out, his fingers suddenly an iron grip around your neck; the hollow of your throat is bared to him and bobs under his cruel touch.

“Coriolanus, that hurts,” you say, strangled. His eyes are alight with a fire, a blazing inferno roaring in his head as he squeezes your throat and laughs.

You wheeze, clutching at his wrist in an attempt to loosen his grip. He obliges you, running a thumb over the indents he’s left in your soft skin to smooth them away.

“You know I’d never hurt you, right?” he asks. His head drops to the juncture of your neck, arms hooking loosely around your middle as he relaxes into you. “I just wanted to feel you. To know you’re mine.”

The incident is forgotten as soon as it ends. He has a charm in that sort of way; you don’t see his faults even when he shows them to you clear as day. You’ll never see what’s right in front of you even if he wants you to.

“Of course I’m yours, Coryo. Why wouldn’t I be?”

“The way they all look at you here…” He falters. “Like they all want you. Like they want to take you away from me. You’re mine- they have to understand that.”

“No one could take me away from you,” you giggle, your temple resting against the tip of his shoulder so you can duck your head to meet his eyes. “I know where I belong. And that’s right here with you.”

the thing about for honor is that as engaging as it’s gameplay is, you will never be having as much fun as you feel like you could be having with it.

#bots are usually too easy & not nearly engaging enough to have fun in every match. often it will devolve too your teammates just.#spawn camping the bots. & you just sorta sitting around doing nothing while they do this bc they don’t let you fight anything.#and pvp is a coinflip with abt a 40/40% chance to either completely destroy the enemy team like the bots. or be the bots getting shat on.#with a 10% chance you get a fun evenly balanced game. so while i love this game a lot. it’s a pretty mixed bag.#& you don’t even really get to experience all of it bc there are a few gamemodes nobody plays. so even bot matches take forever to find.#at least for those two gamemodes. which is pretty sad. you’d think it’d just auto fill your team with bots like it does for other gamemodes.#but it doesn’t. oh well. also don’t even get me started on them removing the fun from killing minions bu removing the kill animations.#all because they were too fucking lazy to make new animations for new characters. bastards.

I know the joke is that Ghost Trick fans can't tell you why to play it, just that you should, but here's some spoiler-free reasons to play it:

It's an incredible puzzle game. The puzzles are basically Rube-Goldberg machines, where you manipulate objects in a series to effect change in the overall situation. Do you like complex mechanisms and the concept of the butterfly effect? Play this.

The basic gameplay: you are a ghost. You have the ability to posses and manipulate objects, and move from object to object. Someone bas died. You can go to four minutes before their death to change their fate using your Rube Goldberg powers. Also! The puzzles do a great job of ramping you up in difficulty and teaching you the gameplay, but wow do they get HARD in late game. You can replay any puzzle, and also rewind time as you wish. You can't lock yourself out of things by doing it wrong, since you can redo.

The story is SO GOOD. There's a reason why everyone tells you as little as possible -- it's a compelling mystery that sucks you in. The basic idea: you are dead. You need to figure out who you are and who killed you. This spins out into a tale of political intrigue.

It's by Shu Takumi, the creator of Ace Attorney. It has very similar vibes, in that it's absolutely bonkers characters and situations but also WILL make you cry once it's all revealed. Great mix of serious and humorous tones. Seriously, someone dies when a giant roast chicken statue falls on them and the root cause is because of [serious political events]

The aesthetics. Great music, great character design, have you SEEN what the game looks like? Really good use of color and stylization. Character animations are often hilarious.

Missile is there. You WILL love bestest boy. Don't google him. Just trust.
