So I've been doing this thing for months where I just start grabbing one of my plushies to have as tummy support to prevent me from leaning too far forward towards my screen (the plush pushes me back as it's against the desk).

one thing i really appreciate about the writing in the bear is the way we mostly see the aftermath of some of the worse things richie says - we get his "in an effort of personal growth" bit rather than him saying something derogatory outside of that context and being actively called out on it (and creating something the audience can meme and script from, and lose the important bit, the consequence, entirely) - we get shown the result of someone (definitely sydney) telling him he's not impressing anyone with his edgy, offensive shit, and him, knowing that his position is more precarious than before now that the foundations are shifting, relishing the opportunity to describe how good he's being by not saying slurs anymore

((the rest of that conversation proves the rule - he says the shock funny ha ha ho ho offensive thing and everyone hates hearing it and sydney is clear on that it's bad - we don't need to see this for every time richie has said something bad, just for the one that feeds the plot))

it's a consequence focused alternative to the telling/showing rule in writing and i just really like that

i gotta tell yall about my grandmother who was the queen of toontown. this woman had *multiple* 3-inch binders filled with toontown information she had personally written or printed off from forums and wikis. like at least 10. it was literally her favorite game and she played every day until Disney stopped providing support. Now she has multiple 3 in binders for Wizard 101.
