cricket had been chatting with this guy for months. they'd met on a metalhead forum and bonded over their shared obsession with sludge. he'd sent her pictures: a tall, dark, and handsome type, with tresses of black hair down to his waist and the muscular body of some kind of pro athlete. he'd claimed to be six five and an avid swimmer, he said he played the drums in a thrash band, he said her pictures made him hard as a rock, in short-- he said all the right things. they'd stay up till three am chatting, revealing their sexual fantasies, flirting, cricket would send topless photos, he'd send audio files of his music. but for some reason he never wanted to video chat.

but he did want to meet up in real life. and cricket, blind to any red flags and desperate to tear his clothes off and see what he was packin', agreed. they set a time and date, in a little town an hour's drive from her house. she dolled herself up real pretty. teased and curled and sprayed her hair till she looked like a pageant queen. even stole a frosted pink lipstick from the local drug store to go with her glittery blue eyeshadow. and once she was satisfied with her face, she shimmied into one of the only dresses she owned and went (crawled, on her hands and knees) to beg josiah to let her borrow his car for the afternoon.

she must've looked real good that day, 'cause he agreed almost immediately, slapping her on the ass on the way out the door. usually it took a lot more convincing and gagging. but she was on the road in ten minutes, listening to the static of the radio until a country station came in a mile out of town. she suffered with that honky tonk music until she pulled up outside the coffee shop she was to meet her mystery man at.

she ordered a black coffee and had three refills, sitting in a booth in the back with her eyes on the door. half an hour passed. no good looking hunk of a man. forty-five minutes. still nothing. it wasn't until nearly an hour later that another soul entered the shop. a frail, hunched over old man, maybe sixty-five, with a head of white hair. she figured he was there for a bite to eat before his four o'clock bedtime, but he made a beeline for her booth. and he called her by name, sat across from her, and introduced himself as his handle.

cricket's jaw must've dropped the floor. along with her stomach, along with her heart. she should've known better. but still, she'd come all this way, put this much effort into it, been squirming in her seat looking for a little relief. and he wasn't a bad looking old man... it's not like she'd never had sex with a senior citizen before. (she went through a phase of likin' 'em really old... her buddies called it daddy issues.) so she shrugged her shoulders and through caution to the wind. and she fucked that old man in the back of josiah's car.
